OxygenOS 3.0 beta Build Now Available for OnePlus 2 [Download]

Some of you know, soak testing for OxygenOS 3.0 (based on M) started a few weeks ago, and now OnePlus ready to share it with us. OnePlus still want to ask the community for help to make sure OnePlus work out any remaining kinks before OnePlus OTA the build officially.

What’s available today is a daily-driver-material community release of 3.0. If you’re the type who won't mind rolling up your sleeves a bit to get your Marshmallow on, this one’s for you. OnePlus would like to ask for a little help with testing some aspects of the software that require a larger user base around the world. Here’s what OnePlus need your feedback on:

Network testing (how is this update working on your specific carrier, your specific region?)
Are you noticing improvements to the camera (both UI and picture quality)?
Performance and battery life - let us know how your phone runs.

This build is OTA eligible which means you’ll receive future OTAs on this build so don’t worry about not getting updates if you flash this.

There are a few things we want you to be aware of:

Your fingerprints will not be preserved after you flash the new build, so you will need to re-register your fingerprints if you have fingerprint authentication set up
Maxxaudio tuner and presets will be removed
Rolling back to previous OxygenOS versions will not work without wiping data
Some soak testers have experienced wifi speed issues which we are investigating
Some of your old apps won’t work without an upgrade to M compatible versions
Shelf frequent apps board size might shrink if you are dirty flashing. Remove and re-add the board and it will fix itself
Language localization is still being improved

As always, please read the instructions on our How to post carefully before flashing your device. Flashing may lead to loss of data and damaged hardware if not done properly. A few important things to note:

This build only support dirty flashing using Oxygen recovery.

Dirty flashing (that means flashing the update without wiping data or factory resetting first) requires OxygenOS 2.2.0 or higher.

Factory reset is needed if you are using any other recovery or coming from any other ROM. We do not guarantee these cases to work properly.

We ALWAYS recommend backing up all your important personal data before flashing.

How to Install UVU2COF6 Android 5.1.1 Lollipop on Galaxy S6 G925T

Step 2 - Download ODIN v3.07 which will help you to install Android 5.1.1 on Samsung Galaxy S6 G925T.

Step 9 - Now click on the Start button in ODIN. Installation process will start and would take a few minutes to complete.

Step 10 - After the installation is completed, your phone will restart. After you see the home screen, unplug your phone from the computer.

That’s it. Your Samsung Galaxy S6 has now been updated to Android 5.1.1 build UVU2COF6 software update. Go to Settings > About phone to verify what build have you installed.

Entire Step-By-Step procedure :

Step 1 - Download CM 12.1 Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Custom firmware and Google Apps for Galaxy S4 Mini to your computer.

Step 2 - Connect and mount your Galaxy S4 Mini USB memory on your computer using the USB cable.

Step 3 - Now copy/paste the downloaded Android 5.1.1 ROM zip file to your SD card. Make sure the file is in the SD card root (not in any folder).

Step 4 - Then turn OFF your phone and disconnect from the USB cable.

Step 5 - Now to get in the Recovery Mode. Switch ON the phone while pressing and holding Volume Up + Home + Power buttons together. You will get an exclamation mark now. Again, hold your Volume Up + Power buttons. You should now be in your Recovery Mode.

Step 6 - Once you are in ClockworkMod Recovery, select perform a full data wipe by selecting “wipe data/factory reset” Use the Power button to select everything while in the Recovery Mode.

Step 7 - Then, perform a cache wipe by selecting “wipe cache partition”

Step 8 - Now this is optional, but it is recommended to perform a wipe of your dalvik cache as well. You will not get into boot loops or any other errors. From CWM recovery, go to ‘advanced’ and then select “wipe dalvik cache”.

Step 9 - Then go back to the main recovery screen and select “install zip from SD card”.

Step 10 - Now select “choose zip from sdcard”. Using your volume keys, navigate the CyanogenMod 12.1 ROM Zip file that you copied to your SD card and select it using the Power button. Confirm the installation on the next screen and the installation procedure should start now.

Step 11 - After the installation completes, go to “+++++Go Back+++++” and reboot the phone by selecting “reboot system now”

Note: Repeat the same step of installation as in step 10 with Google Apps after installing CyanogenMod 12.1 Lollipop Custom Firmware.

Your Galaxy S4 Mini I9190 will boot now and it might take about 5 minutes to boot on your first time. So, please wait.

XenonHD finally makes it way towards Nexus 7 (2013). This ROM is based on latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The developers doesn’t provide a features list so we don’t know what actually they integrated in this ROM but if we see some previous build from XenonHD then we can say its gonna be a pretty solid custom firmware for your device and you’ll enjoy this ROM too. You can update Nexus 7 2013 to Android 5.1.1 XenonHD Lollipop custom firmware using the tutorial below. This is not an official release by ASUS, but just a custom ROM which would require a custom recovery like ClockworkMod in order to flash the ROM zip and Google Apps zip files on your tablet. How to Install Android 5.1.1 XenonHD Lollipop on ASUS Nexus 7 :

We have put together a detailed step-by-step instructions guide on how to install Android 5.1.1 XenonHD Lollipop custom firmware on Nexus 7. If you are used to installing custom ROMs on your Nexus 7, then this should not be any different for you.

However, for beginners, you need to root your ASUS Nexus 7 and install a custom recovery. Please Google that up if you are unsure and make sure you read the tutorial once before actually performing it on your device.

To Remember:

This Android 5.1.1 XenonHD ROM tutorial is only for the Nexus 7 tablet.
Your tablet should have ClockworkMod recovery installed. Please make sure you have this recovery!
Make a Nandroid backup of your previous phone set up before proceeding – for just in case anything goes wrong.
This tutorial will wipe out all your existing data. Proceed at your own risk.

Complete Step-By-Step Instructions:

Step 1 - Download Android 5.1.1 XenonHD ROM and Google Apps for Nexus 7 (2013) on your PC, if you haven’t already.

Step 2 - Connect your Nexus 7 (2013) to your computer using the USB cable.

Step 3 - Now copy/paste the downloaded Android 5.1.1 ROM zip and Google Apps zip files to your SD card. Make sure the files are in the SD card root (not in any folder).

Step 4 - Please make sure Fastboot is configured and properly installed on your computer. How? See here: How to Set Up ADB and Fastboot with Android SDK.

Step 5 - Then turn OFF your phone and disconnect from the USB cable.

Step 6 - Get into the Fastboot/Bootloader Mode on your device. Turn ON the tablet while pressing and holding the Volume Up + Power buttons till you see the Fastboot menu and START on top.

Step 7 - Now to get in the Bootloader Mode. Turn ON the phone while pressing and holding the Volume Up + Volume Down and Power buttons.

Step 8 - Follow the navigation instructions on the screen. Select BOOTLOADER and then go to RECOVERY.

Step 9 - Once you are in ClockworkMod Recovery, select perform a full data wipe by selecting “wipe data/factory reset” . Use the Power button to select everything while in the Recovery Mode.

Step 10 - Then, perform a cache wipe by selecting “wipe cache partition” as you can see in the image below.

Step 11 - Now this is optional, but it is recommended to perform a wipe of your dalvik cache as well. You will not get into boot loops or any other errors. From CWM recovery, go to ‘advanced’ and then select “wipe dalvik cache”.

Step 12 - Then go back to the main recovery screen and select “install zip from SD card”.

Step 13 - Now select “choose zip from sdcard”. Using your volume keys, navigate to the Android 5.1.1 XenonHD ROM zip file that you copied to your SD card and select it using the Power button. Confirm the installation on the next screen and the installation procedure should start now.

Google Apps: Repeat the Step 12 for the GApps zip file as well and install it on your phone.

Step 14 - After the installation completes, go to “+++++Go Back+++++” and reboot the phone by selecting “reboot system now” from the recovery menu.

Your Nexus 7 (2013) will boot now and it might take about 5 minutes to boot on your first time. So, please wait.

That’s it! Your Nexus 7 (2013) should now have Android 5.1.1 XenonHD Lollipop custom ROM installed on your phone! Go to Settings > About phone to verify.

Xposed for Android 5.1 Lollipop (API v64) Alpha 4 Ultra Edition

It seems that many people have waited for this moment, and here we are with the New Xposed for Android 5.1 Lollipop (API v64) Alpha 4 Ultra Edition. I want to start this post off with a couple of very clear points. Rovo89 (Senior XDA Member) is the creator of the Xposed framework. Romracer (also a Senior XDA Member) have only worked to bring the Xposed framework to Android 5.1 Lollipop (API v64) Alpha 4 Ultra Edition. I have not rewritten the Framework from Scratch. If Xposed doesn't work on your 5.0 device, chances are it won't work on 5.1 either (I'm looking at you Samsung users).

This is a derivative work posted with XDA (Rovo89) Permission!

With that said, I present to you the first unofficial release of Xposed for Android 5.1. It is my hope that ultimately my changes can be reviewed and an official release posted. But first, the bugs must be squashed! I've written a few Xposed modules that work fine but by posting this unofficial release, I hope to expand my audience of module writers and testers.

How to Test Xposed for Android 5.1 Lollipop (API v64) :

You must be on Android 5.1. It will NOT work on Android 5.0 (too many changes to ART).
You should have a working recovery (recoveries that don't have unzip or busybox are not "working recoveries"). The installer will try to detect this ahead of time.
If you left the Xposed app installed from Android 5.0, you should disable all modules before installing this framework. Busted modules may keep you from booting after installation otherwise.
I will need Xposed logs (and possibly logcats) to debug any issues. Remember, if your device won't boot after installation, its likely you can reboot to recovery and still grab the Xposed log (assuming Zygote started). It will be in /data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/log as error.log or error.log.old.

Known Issues till Now :

Devices with very little free space on /system may have trouble installing. This installer has been tweaked slightly over the 5.0 installer. It will attempt to move your original libraries off /system, install the framework, compress the original libraries and then move the compressed originals back to the root of /system.
If Xposed for Android 5.0 didn't work on your device, its unlikely this one will either. This is more or less the exact same source code, just an updated ART runtime. But feel free to try, just make sure you know how to backup and restore.

Download Xposed for Android 5.1 Lollipop (API v64) Alpha 4 Edition :

First, I'm going to point you to the original Xposed for Lollipop XDA thread. Why? Because I want you to read it. This release hardly differs from that one. And maybe, just maybe, it'll save some unnecessary private messages. Now, following are the download links for Android 5.1 Lollipop (API v64 Alpha 4 Ultra Edition

xposed-sdk22-arm*.zip - Must be flashed with a custom recovery to install the framework.
XposedInstaller_3.0-alpha*.apk - Must be installed to manage installed modules.
XposedBridgeApi-20150213.jar - The API for module developers, in case they want to make use of some new features. Might be changed slightly until the stable release!

Almost everyone should use the arm download. Use arm64 ONLY for arm64 devices (most popular ones are probably HTC One M9 and Nexus 9). Google your device or look in build.prop if you're not sure.

NOTE: This is still an alpha version and for Lollipop on ARMv7+ devices only. Please install it only if you're willing to take the risk of boot loops. Just because it's working fine and stable for me doesn't mean it will work for everyone the same way.

Module Developers :

It would be incredibly useful to me for people to test the framework in the smallest "units" possible at first. By "unit" I mean things such as "resource replacement", "method replacement", "before method hooks", "after method hooks", etc. It doesn't do me a lot of good to know that some huge, complicated module causes system_server to crash without understanding at what level that's happening. This is actually what held me back from releasing. I have some test modules to use, but I don't have infinite time to write test modules, test the framework, etc.

UPDATE: Samsung has changed quite a few things in their version of ART. It will take more time to adjust Xposed for it.

How to Install XXU1AOCV Android 5.0.2 Lollipop on Galaxy S6 G920F

Entire Step-By-Step procedure:

Step 1 - Download Android 5.0.2 T805XXU1BOCC for Galaxy S6 G920F to your computer and extract the zip file.

Step 2 - Download ODIN v3.07 which will help you to install Android 5.0.2 on Samsung Galaxy S6 G920F.

Step 4 - Make sure you have your Galaxy S6 G920F USB drivers installed on your computer.

Step 5 - Open ODIN on your computer. Connect your phone to your computer while your phone is in the Download Mode.

Step 6 - If your phone is connected successfully, one of the ID:COM boxes will turn yellow with the COM port number. This step might take some time.

Step 7 - Now select the files that you have to flash/install on your phone. These files are to be found from the extracted files in Step 1.

Click on ‘PDA’ and select file with ‘CODE’ in its name.

Step 8 - In ODIN, check the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options. As for the Re-Partition option, check it ONLY if you selected a .PIT file in the above step.

Step 9 - Now click on the Start button in ODIN. Installation process will start and would take a few minutes to complete.

Step 10 - After the installation is completed, your phone will restart. After you see the home screen, unplug your phone from the computer.

That’s it. Your Samsung Galaxy S6 has now been updated to Android 5.0.2 build XXU1AOCV software update. Go to Settings > About phone to verify what build have you installed.

How to Install Cosmic ROM Android 5.0 Lollipop Custom Firmware

We have put together a detailed step-by-step instructions guide on how to install Cosmic ROM Android 5.0 Lollipop custom firmware on Galaxy Core I8262. If you are used to installing custom ROMs on your Galaxy Core I8262, then this should not be any different for you.

However, for beginners, you need to root your Galaxy Core I8262 and install a custom recovery. Please Google that up if you are unsure and make sure you read the tutorial once before actually performing it on your device.

To Remember:

This Cosmic ROM Android 5.0 Lollipop Firmware tutorial is only for Galaxy Core I8262 and I am not sure if it will work on the other variants of the Galaxy Core on other carriers.
Make sure your phone is rooted and has a custom recovery like ClockworkMod installed.
Make a Nandroid backup of your previous phone set up before proceeding – for just in case anything goes wrong.
Install the Google Apps package if you want the usual Google apps (Gmail, Maps, Play Store, Calendar etc.) on your phone.

NOTE: Installing Cosmic ROM Android 5.0 Lollipop Custom ROM will WIPE / DELETE / ERASE everything from your phone if your bootloader is not already unlocked. Please make sure you have a backup of all the data. Read: How to Backup Android Apps and Other Data.

Complete Step-By-Step Instructions:

Step 1 - Download Cosmic Lollipop Final Edition ROM for Galaxy Core I8262 on your PC, if you haven’t already.

Note : Your Galaxy Core I8262 should be on Cosmic ROM Version 1.0 before flashing this ROM.

Step 2 - Connect your Galaxy Core I8262 to your computer using the USB cable.

Step 3 - Please make sure Fastboot is configured and properly installed on your computer. How? See here: How to Set Up ADB and Fastboot with Android SDK.

Step 4 - Then turn OFF your phone and disconnect from the USB cable.

Step 5 - Get into the Fastboot/Bootloader Mode on your device. Turn ON the tablet while pressing and holding the Volume Up + Power buttons till you see the Fastboot menu and START on top.

Step 6 - Now to get in the Bootloader Mode. Turn ON the phone while pressing and holding the Volume Up + Volume Down and Power buttons.

Step 7 - Follow the navigation instructions on the screen. Select BOOTLOADER and then go to RECOVERY.

Step 8 - Once you are in ClockworkMod Recovery, select perform a full data wipe by selecting “wipe data/factory reset” . Use the Power button to select everything while in the Recovery Mode.

Step 9 - Then, perform a cache wipe by selecting “wipe cache partition” as you can see in the image below.

Step 10 - Now this is optional, but it is recommended to perform a wipe of your dalvik cache as well. You will not get into boot loops or any other errors. From CWM recovery, go to ‘advanced’ and then select “wipe dalvik cache”.

Step 11 - Then go back to the main recovery screen and select “install zip from SD card”.

Step 12 - Now select “choose zip from sdcard”. Using your volume keys, navigate to the Cosmic ROM Android 5.0 zip file that you copied to your SD card and select it using the Power button. Confirm the installation on the next screen and the installation procedure should start now.

Optional : If you want to remove GApps from the ROM, flash GApps remover zip after installing lollipop edition.

Step 12 - After the installation completes, go to “+++++Go Back+++++” and reboot the phone by selecting “reboot system now” from the recovery menu as show below.

Your Galaxy Core I8262 will boot now and it might take about 5 minutes to boot on your first time. So, please wait.

That’s it! Your Galaxy Core I8262 should now have Cosmic ROM Android 5.0 Lollipop custom ROM installed on your phone! Go to Settings > About phone to verify.

If You want tinted Status bar automatically in all Apps :

Install XPOSED framework from Settings > Xposed settings

Then go to Modules in Xposed > tick Tinted Status bar.

Then go back to settings > cosmic mods > Statusbar Tint (Xposed module)

Press "MENU" button and click on settings.

Now there are many Check Boxes : 1 (allow 3rd party) ,3 (Animate), 4 ,5,7 [ These options should be checked ]

Select option Default tints

1st option should be completely transparent > opacity 0 and apply

3rd option should be White and apply.

Now restart device .and enjoy.

How to Install Android 5.1.1 OptiPop Lollipop Custom ROM

We have put together a detailed step-by-step instructions guide on how to install Android 5.1.1 OptiPop Lollipop custom firmware on Nexus 5. If you are used to installing custom ROMs on your Nexus 5, then this should not be any different for you.

However, for beginners, you need to root your LG Nexus 5 and install a custom recovery. Please Google that up if you are unsure and make sure you read the tutorial once before actually performing it on your device.

To Remember:

This Android 5.1.1 OptiPop ROM tutorial is only for Nexus 5 (hammerhead) and I am not sure if it will work on the other variants of the Nexus 5 on other carriers.
Make sure your phone is rooted and has a custom recovery like ClockworkMod installed.
Make a Nandroid backup of your previous phone set up before proceeding – for just in case anything goes wrong.
Install the Google Apps package if you want the usual Google apps (Gmail, Maps, Play Store, Calendar etc.) on your phone.

NOTE: Installing Android 5.1.1 OptiPop Lollipop Custom ROM will WIPE / DELETE / ERASE everything from your phone if your bootloader is not already unlocked. Please make sure you have a backup of all the data. Read: How to Backup Android Apps and Other Data.

Complete Step-By-Step Instructions:

Step 1 - Download Android 5.1.1 OptiPop ROM and Google Apps for Nexus 5 on your PC, if you haven’t already.

Step 2 - Connect your Nexus 5 to your computer using the USB cable and copy/paste the downloaded Android 5.1.1 ROM zip and Google Apps zip files to your SD card. Make sure the files are in the SD card root (not in any folder).

Step 3 - Please make sure Fastboot is configured and properly installed on your computer. How? See here: How to Set Up ADB and Fastboot with Android SDK.

Step 4 - Then turn OFF your phone and disconnect from the USB cable.

Step 5 - Get into the Fastboot/Bootloader Mode on your device. Turn ON the tablet while pressing and holding the Volume Up + Power buttons till you see the Fastboot menu and START on top.

Step 6 - Now to get in the Bootloader Mode. Turn ON the phone while pressing and holding the Volume Up + Volume Down and Power buttons.

Step 7 - Follow the navigation instructions on the screen. Select BOOTLOADER and then go to RECOVERY.

Step 8 - Once you are in ClockworkMod Recovery, select perform a full data wipe by selecting “wipe data/factory reset” . Use the Power button to select everything while in the Recovery Mode.

Step 9 - Then, perform a cache wipe by selecting “wipe cache partition” as you can see in the image below.

Step 10 - Now this is optional, but it is recommended to perform a wipe of your dalvik cache as well. You will not get into boot loops or any other errors. From CWM recovery, go to ‘advanced’ and then select “wipe dalvik cache”.

Step 11 - Then go back to the main recovery screen and select “install zip from SD card”.

Step 12 - Now select “choose zip from sdcard”. Using your volume keys, navigate to the Android 5.1.1 ROM zip file that you copied to your SD card and select it using the Power button. Confirm the installation on the next screen and the installation procedure should start now.

Google Apps: Repeat the above step for the Gapps zip file as well and install it on your phone.

Step 12 - After the installation completes, go to “+++++Go Back+++++” and reboot the phone by selecting “reboot system now” from the recovery menu.

Your Nexus 5 will boot now and it might take about 5 minutes to boot on your first time. So, please wait.

That’s it! Your Nexus 5 should now have Android 5.1.1 OptiPop Lollipop custom ROM installed on your phone! Go to Settings > About phone to verify.

Nexus 5 just received the official Android 5.1.1 LMY48B Lollipop factory image for downloading. Android 5.1.1 is a smaller bug fix update that was rolled out several weeks back, but only for the tablets. For some reason, none of the Nexus Android phones were given this new update. It is available now, and should be available over OTA as well. The exact Android 5.1.1 build is LMY48B for Nexus 5. You can manually update Nexus 5 to Android 5.1.1 LMY48B factory image from the tutorial below — and also root Nexus 5 on this software update. Step 1 - Download Android 5.1.1 Factory Image (hammerhead-lmy48b-factory-596bb9c1.tgz) for Nexus 5 on your PC, from here:

Step 2 - Connect your Nexus 5 to your computer using the USB cable.

Step 3 - Please make sure Fastboot is configured and properly installed on your computer. How? See here: How to Set Up ADB and Fastboot with Android SDK.

Step 4 - Turn OFF your tablet.

Step 5 - Get into the Fastboot/Bootloader Mode on your device. Turn ON the tablet while pressing and holding the Volume Up + Power buttons till you see the Fastboot menu and START on top.

Step 6 - Now extract the downloaded file anywhere in your computer. Go to the folder hammerhead-LMY48B and then copy/paste all the files to your Fastboot directory.

Note: If you followed our tutorial on setting up Fastboot on your computer, there is a 99% chance your Fastboot directory will be the platform-tools folder in your Android SDK directory.

Step 7 - From the factory image files in your Fastboot directory, do the following depending which OS you are on:

On Windows: Run the file “flash-all.bat”.
On Mac: Run the file “flash-all.sh” using Terminal.
On Linux: Run the file “flash-all.sh”.

Step 8 - That’s pretty much that you had to do for flashing the stock factory image on your Nexus 5. Now wait and watch as the process is completed — or follow the on-screen instructions on your tablet if in case you have to unlock the bootloader.

Step 9 - After the installation completes, your tablet will boot now and it might take about 5 minutes to boot on your first time. So, please wait with patience!

That’s it! Your Nexus 5 should now have the Official Android 5.1.1 LMY48B Lollipop Factory Image update installed on your phone! Go to Settings >About phone to verify.

Nexus 5 should be on Android 5.1.1 LMY48B software version.
Make a Nandroid backup of your previous phone set up before proceeding – for just in case anything goes wrong.

Complete Step-By-Step Instructions:

Step 1 - Download Android SDK from the Android Developers website and install. Also set it up with downloading platform-tools and USB drivers package in SDK. See: How to Set up ADB and Fastboot on Windows.

Step 2 - Enable USB Debugging mode in your Nexus 5.

Step 3 - Download Fastboot from the following links depending on your OS and extract it in android-sdk-windows\platform-tools directory. Create directory if not already there.

NOTE: Skip Steps 1, 2, 3 if you already have them.

Step 4 - Download SuperSU v2.46 (UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip) for Nexus 5 on your PC, if you haven’t already.

Step 5 - Connect and mount your Nexus 5 USB memory on your computer using the USB cable.

Step 6 - Now copy/paste the UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip file to your SD card. Make sure the file is in the SD card root (not in any folder).

Step 7 - Then turn OFF your phone.

Step 8 - Download CWM 6.0.4.5 and save it to your android-sdk-windows\platform-tools directory on your computer.

NOTE: You can use any of the two custom recoveries – CWM or TWRP. If one fails to work, try installing the other one and use that.

Step 9 - Now go into Fastboot/Bootloader Mode on Nexus 5. How? Press Volume Down + Power keys for a few seconds till you see some text on the screen. This is Bootloader Mode.

Step 10 - Navigate to android-sdk-windows\platform-tools directory and open Command Prompt (Shift + Right-click > Open Command Prompt).

Step 11 - Type in the following command and press Enter.

fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.5-hammerhead.img

Step 12 - Once completed, choose RECOVERY from the Fastboot menu and enter Recovery Mode.

Step 13 - In ClockworkMod recovery, scroll down to “flash zip from SD card” and press the power button to select it.

Step 14 - Press the Power button again and select “choose zip from sdcard”.

Step 15 - Now using your volume keys, navigate to UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip and select it using the Power button. Confirm the installation on the next screen and the installation procedure should start now.

Step 16 - After the installation completes, go to “+++++Go Back+++++” and reboot the phone by selecting “reboot system now” from the Recovery menu. The phone will boot now and it might take about 5 minutes to boot on your first time. So, please wait.

That’s it! Your Nexus 5 is now rooted on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware on your phone! Check for the SuperSU app in your apps list to verify.

CM12 Nightly provide a pure stock experience just like on a Nexus with added tweaks.

You will be able to update Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7105 to 5.0.2 CM12 Nightly Lollipop using this complete tutorial. Not necessary, but it would be better if your phone is rooted and has a custom recovery installed. CyanogenMod (pronounced sigh-AN-oh-jen-mod), is a customized, aftermarket firmware distribution for several Android devices (See above for supported devices & how to install CyanogenMod on said devices). Based on the Android Open Source Project, CyanogenMod is designed to increase performance and reliability over Android-based ROMs released by vendors and carriers such as Google, T-Mobile, HTC, etc. CyanogenMod also offers a variety of features & enhancements that are not currently found in these versions of Android.

Here is a quick note for those who are going to install this release of CM12 for the very first time:

NOTE: Since this is not a final build, make sure you know that after installing this firmware update, your Android device can get FC errors, boot loops, several other bugs, apps might not work or worse, your phone might not boot. To fix, you will have to reinstall stock firmware or any other stable custom ROM.

TUTORIAL: How to Install 5.0.2 CM12 Nightly Lollipop on Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7105

We have put together a detailed step-by-step instructions guide on how to install 5.0.2 CM12 Nightly Lollipop custom firmware on Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7105. If you are used to installing custom ROMs on your Galaxy Note 2 N7105, then this should not be any different for you.

As we mentioned earlier, you need to have a custom recovery installed on your phone. Please do that first and then get back to this tutorial. And before you proceed below, make sure you read the tutorial once before actually performing it on your Android device.

To Remember:

This tutorial is only for installing 5.0.2 CM12 Nightly ROM on Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7105. Please do not try on any other Galaxy Note 2 N7105 variants.
Your phone should have a custom recovery installed and should be rooted (optional) from before.
This tutorial will wipe out all your data. Make sure you backup all your data in your phone before proceeding.
Perform a Dalvik Cache wipe before proceeding from the Recovery Mode.

Complete Step-By-Step Instructions:

Step 1 - Download 5.0.2 CM12 Nightly ROM and Google Apps for Galaxy Note 2 N7105 to your computer.

Step 2 - Connect and mount your Galaxy Note 2 N7105 USB memory to your computer using the USB cable.

Step 3 - Now copy/paste the downloaded 5.0.2 ROM zip and Google Apps zip files to your phone memory / SD card. Make sure the file is in the phone memory / SD card root (not in any folder).

Step 4 - Then turn OFF your phone and disconnect from the USB cable.

Step 5 - Now to get in the Recovery Mode. Switch ON the phone while pressing and holding Volume Up + Power buttons together.

Step 6 - Once you are in ClockworkMod Recovery, select perform a full data wipe by selecting “wipe data/factory reset”. Use the Power button to select everything while in the Recovery Mode.

Step 7 - Then, perform a cache wipe by selecting “wipe cache partition” .

Step 8 - Now this is optional, but it is recommended to perform a wipe of your dalvik cache as well. You will not get into boot loops or any other errors. From CWM recovery, go to ‘advanced’ and then select “wipe dalvik cache”.

Step 9 - Then go back to the main recovery screen and select “install zip from SD card”.

Step 10 - Now select “choose zip from SDCard”. Using your volume keys, navigate to the 5.0.2 ROM zip file that you copied to your SD card and select it using the Power button. Confirm the installation on the next screen and the installation procedure should start now.

Google Apps: Repeat the above step for the Google Apps zip file as well and install it on your phone.

Step 11 - After the installation completes, go to “+++++Go Back+++++” and reboot the phone by selecting “reboot system now” from the recovery menu.

Your Galaxy Note 2 N7105 will boot now and it might take about 5 minutes to boot on your first time. So, please wait.

That’s it! Your Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7105 should now have 5.0.2 CM12 Nightly Lollipop custom ROM installed on your phone! Go to Settings > About phone to verify.
