I want to let more people around the world know that Taiwan is a fantastic place to travel. So I'll try to share information and exchange ideas in English.工作達人http://www.blogger.com/profile/15455567113541727468noreply@blogger.comBlogger102125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1664225421371581189.post-84379757529943039282017-03-23T23:46:00.000+08:002017-03-23T23:46:18.047+08:00The Best Taoyuan Fine Dining Vegetarian Restaurant Is Taoyuan Avignon Vegetarian Restaurant which also offers Delivery Cake
Guess what? I very like to surfer TripAdvisor to find the best restaurants, hotels and things to do before I travel abroad. I also recommand you to use the web to find the best restaurants, hotels and things to do in Taoyuan. Recently I had a chance discovery about TripAdvisor. There is “Vegetarian Friendly” option to filter restaurants. And you will find the best Taoyuan fine dining vegetarian restaurant is Taoyuan Avignon Vegetarian Restaurant.

Aiweinong Restaurant?
I checked the address "1F, No.292, Sec. 1, Daye Road, Taoyuan 33049, Taiwan" and the map.

Aiweinong Restaurant and Taoyuan Avignon Vegetarian Restaurant are one and the same restaurant. Aiweinong is the Chinese transliteration of "艾維農". Maybe the restaurant owner can fix the problem.
Why did I pay attention to vegetable foods? In fact I am not now, and have never been, a vegetarian. My some friends from Couchsurfing are vegetarian. I do not want to serve them frugal vegetarian meals. So I warmed up when I know the Taoyuan Avignon Vegetarian Restaurant.
That noon I drove my wife and son to the restaurant. I paid much attention to the surroundings. I found the hall of Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation is quiet near. I believe Taoyuan Avignon Vegetarian Restaurant stand on a vantage point.

The shop sign of the super market is bigger than the signboard of Taoyuan Avignon Vegetarian Restaurant. Because of ths similar green color I miss this place once. I guese this is the only downside.

They gave us a high chair. Excellent!

They also offer every guest a warm and comfortable dining atmosphere, as well as a gourmet style dining experience. It is clean, clear and has some soft tone.

Originally, I thought this was a Chinese restaurant and the staff was much friendlier to Chinese-speaking customers. They did not have to deal with a language barrier, and also partially because they loved anyone that’s from their homeland. To my surprise, she introduced the menu in English very well. I was going to heard her English introduction but heard her Chinese introduction because of my noisy son.

Besides, this is also a gallery.
Come and look at the pictures. They were both soothing and stress-relieving.

After we feasted our eyes on these pictures, let's talk about the food. We ordered a $480 set including Warm Bread Basket Served with Herb Mayo and Butter,
Vegetable Consomme, Amuse Bouch, Mushroom Risotto, Dessert, Beets & Cider Vinegar and Chamomile Tea. The other set includes Warm Bread Basket Served with Herb Mayo and Butter, Green Velvet Soup, Amuse Bouch, Golden Sweet Potato, Fruit and Vegetable Shurb, Grilled Tree Hedgehog Steak (with Cream Sauce, Assorted Vegetables and Couscous), Dessert and Mojito.
咖啡or茶
$480套餐:
暖麵包藍附奶油香草抹醬
主廚精選湯品
主廚精選小點
松子青醬義大利麵or蘿勒紅醬義大利麵or野菇燉飯
精緻甜點
咖啡or茶

The first course was Consommé Soup. This clear soup is an important type of French soups and stews. I heard that the chef mixed seven or eight different vegetables in this soup. The key to making a high quality consommé is simmering; the act of simmering, combined with frequent stirring, brings impurities to the surface of the liquid. Unconsciously I took a deep breath and yelled, "おいしいです" "Hào chī".

The second course was Warm Bread Basket Served with Herb Mayo and Butter. But we had two different mayo and butter. One was herb and the other was rose. I found the difference between $780 Set and the others when I saw what is on the menu. The herb mayo and butter was good but the rose bread spread was better. And the bread was unlimited supply. The food was amazing there. It just made my day!

Well, I almost forgot to mention my first course was Green Velvet Soup. I am in the habit of dipping bread in soup. That's very delicious.

The fourth course was Amuse Bouch. This was fresh and crisp. It was very fine but sometime it seemed that someone did not have enough to eat. If you feel the food is not enough, ask the server and you can get more bread for free.

The fifth was Golden Sweet Potato. Very special. I recorded it and upload it to YouTube. Maybe this dish was the most popular here.

By the way I needed to introduce the special Beets & Cider Vinegar. Sophia liked this drink because of containing a variety of unique health-boosting nutrients that you may not be getting elsewhere.

That day the main meal was Grilled Tree Hedgehog Steak (with Cream Sauce, Assorted Vegetables and Couscous). What's amazing! Tasted like steak and had a similar texture. It looked very appetizing.

Sophia's next course was Mushroom Risotto. This beautiful mushroom risotto was slightly different twist on the tale.

What's the name of this course? I forgot it but the server offered my son this course. They were always thoughtful of every customer. Good!

The next dessert was exquisite. The famous butterfly pea was on it. Very special!

The last were Chamomile Tea and Mojito. This chamomile tea eases insomnia, boosts your immune system, banishes menstrual cramps, and much, much more!

And Mojito was fresh and enticing for me. This sparkling water, orange juice and sugar beet syrup were a good match. I felt heavenly happy.

The food was very delicious. Furthermore, Sophia also want to bring butterfly pea, cake and biscuit to home. She wanted to squeeze some kind of fruit for beautiful butterfly pea juice but she failed.

This close-up shot just went to show that my son could not wait to eat the biscuit.

I preferred to take all biscuits to home because of mouthwatering delight.

Looked at the attractive cake box. I guessed the cake would be yummy. The SURPRISE Chocolate Cake 6" was in the box. Why did the boss said it would be surprised to me?

At first glance I just thought the chocolate was on the bottom of biscuits and the vegetarian cake was similar to the general cake. But I was wrong. Pop Rocks were in it. Wow! Very special. I needed to share with my in-laws. It was really surprised to me.
Well, you must go there and taste it.
the solutions out there are in the thousands; however, most of them are
overpriced, buggy, poorly designed and have long and difficult learning curves
for users. Most users find it confusing to differentiate between the merits of
different LMS’s and put a value on the deal they are getting. I think Udutu is a great option for E-Learning.

opportunity to showcase their knowledge and educate others with comprehensive,
intuitive and empowering technology-based learning solutions backed by
on-demand service and support that can be scaled quickly to meet their growing

Very Happy

If the highest possible score is ten points(十分), the Shifen(十分)take on another new meaning. To score a perfect 100% on life and love is an importunate demand. I think it ' s certainly worth it if I score 10%.
Located in Pingxi District of New Taipei City, Taiwan, Shifen Old Street is the most famous stop along Pingxi Branch Line. Set by Shifen Railway Station, Shifen Old Street is filled mainly by sky lantern and souvenir shops, grocery stores and restaurants on both sides of the railway. One may notice that Shifen Railway Station is larger than other stations along Pingxi Line as it has dual tracks that allow trains to intersect here.
I never get off at the stop but Rong Shu Xia Rice Noodles(榕樹下米粉湯) is a restaurant that opened over hundred years. Please have a taste of their food.

Sky Lanterns in Pingxi

Why did the people lauch sky lanterns? The old practice still prevails in Pingxi District. According to the history of Pingxi, the Taipei Pingxi Sky Lanterns were released originally to let others know that the town was safe. These lanterns are decorated with wishes and images relating to the owner. These two events are known together as "Fireworks in the South, Sky Lanterns in the North."

I knew Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival was held annually and this township was crowded with people at that time. On February 22, 2014, to the best of my recollection Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival was celebrated 8 days ago. My wife and I took bus 795 towards Pingxi. We wanted to have a go at this another transportation. There was no seat available on the bus. The crowded bus with no good shock absorbers traveled over very bumpy mountain roads. Sophia was thrilled with terror and we no longer wanted to take a bus to this small town.

The old street had a lot of tourist atmosphere. There was a long line at the informal diner. Sightseers were packed like sardines in this townlet.

Although Pingxi town is actually very small, but they do have pretty good snacks! We stopped at the first snack bar which is called “百年老味” for braised dishes.

Many travelers wrote down their wishes on the bamboo tube, hanging on the wall, they ring with the passengers walk by, how fascinating!

This photo was taken in Traditional Flour Tea(古早味麵茶). Anthony Guo (郭彥均) and Angus Guo (郭彥甫) interviewed this restaurant. Sophia very liked this kind of food so we walked into the store. Peanuts and sesame provide the aroma, but there was much more to this dining experience. The restaurant has recreated the old street atmosphere of kettles ringing out to show its time for tea. The owner was also inspired to put a twist on this local flavor by offering a chilled version of the traditional tea.

Be certain to stop by the Pingxi Post Office that has an old upright mailbox dating back to the Japanese Occupation. It’s said to be the only Japanese-era mailbox still in use in Taiwan.

Here, you can discover the increasingly rare general grocery stores and also watch as the train rumbles along the steel bridge overhead. Remember the advertisement where a little girl called Zhang Junya is summoned home before her instant noodles get too soggy? It was shot here in Pingxi! If you want to experience the quiet of small town living, the Pingxi Old Street is not a bad choice!

The train was entering the station but the store-owner was still selling his sky lanterns and the tourists ignored the train.

In the scenic mountains above Taipei and the beautiful weather, a lantern was released into the sky. The lantern in question signed with well-wishes by the tourist. It’s really a fine view.

John A. Passaro,”Life is like a train ride. People can and will get off at any stop. “ Every time I traveled by train , I thought of this quote. Especially when we rode on the PingXi branch rail line, one of the three historic small branch lines (other than Neiwan and Jiji) that have remained open for tourism. Beacuase you never know who will get on and off. We say good – bye and leave but we will meet again some day.
Like “Taking Leave of Cambridge Again” said,”
Very quietly I take my leave
As quietly as I came here;
Gently I flick my sleeves
Not even a wisp of cloud will I bring away” It is very casual and elegant. You get him or her inside your mind. It is warm and fragrant, isn’t it?
Well, travel should be easy but trains coming and going always makes people feel sad. Let’s get back to the subject of Pingxi Line. People who live in Northern Taiwan and love to travel should know of this railway branch line. The Pingxi Line (Chinese: 平溪線; Japanese: へいけいせん) is a 12.9 km long, single-track railway branch line of the Taiwan Railway Administration.

Houtong Cat Village(猴硐貓村)

Houtong was originally called Hou Dong which means monkey cave due to the existence of cave inhabited by monkeys in the early days but now it is a village in Ruifang District, New Taipei, Taiwan famous for its cats population.
The first time I went to Houtong because Sophia very wanted to keep a cat as a pet. I did not like pets so I picked her up to Ruifang Station, transferred to Houtong and to watched these cats. Cats are more photogenic than dogs because they are leisurely, elegant and poised.
I am sure animal lovers will definitely love this place, but don't come with dry cat food, cats here are fat and I can see dry cat food on floor everywhere, but you might wanna bring a cat stick, maybe you can find a cat that is willing to play with you.

Initially a small coal mining town built during the Japanese era, Houtong attracted over 6,000 workers to the area, producing the highest amount of coal in Taiwan. By the 1990s, the coal industry died, and residents of the town started moving away.
Because Houtong was the largest freight station for mining transportation, Houting Coalmine Ecological Park(猴硐煤礦博物館園區)is built in this place for good reason. The park consists of Japanese colonial-era building, mining transport bridge, old coal processing plants, museums and educational exhibits. The museum is designed as a coal industry theme, in which circulates the relics, histories and stories of the coal mining industry. There are many activities is arranged for visitors to go underground to experience the working condition of miners and to get a chance to touch a 200.3-kiogram gold bar. Visitors intrigued by the combination of Japanese colonial-ear buildings and industrial relics should definitely come to Houtong to see the unequaled sight.

Locals have also capitalized on their “Cat Village” by setting up shop houses selling anything from paintings and postcards of cats, to cat-shaped pillows and stuffed animals. Cat-themed coffee houses and bakeries are plentiful as well. Giant-sized Hello Kitty and Pusheen toys are among the strangest. Everywhere you look, laughing cats, smiling cats and smirking cats are engraved on cups and tote bags. Rings, scrunchies and even clothes pins are adorned with cat heads. Traditional good-luck white porcelain cats with arms that bob up and down are also sold in Houtong.
I'm not a fan of Shintoism (or Japanese Buddhism either for that matter) but I've always found Shinto shrines to be very serene and peaceful, for reasons I can't explain. But Sophia did not like the ancient atmosphere. The former Houtong Jinja (shrine) was abandoned after the Japanese left, so virtually nothing remains of the actual shrine, however the two torii (gates) are still standing, one stone and one (rotting) wood. I recommend walking the short but pleasant path across the coal transportation path from the train station, passed the Ruisan(瑞三) Mine, up steps just to the left of the building, and then following the path to the torii (above), then through the former temple site and then down the "hundred steps", which have been used for many purposes over the last century, and rebuilt several times. From there it's a short walk back to the centre of the Visitor's Centre.
Four month ago I found Postcrossing and
signup a new Postcrosser. Postcrossing is an online project that allows its
members to send and receive postcards from all over the world. The project's
tag line is "send a postcard and receive a postcard back from a random
person somewhere in the world!” It's amazing really, in this internet age, that
postcard sending survives, but it does, and it's begun growing again. Initially
I only could send 5 postcards because of Postcrossing’s limit. I sent postcards
to Poland, Germany, U.S.A., Malta, Russia. I have never visted the countries except
for U.S.A.

Tintin in Tibet (French: Tintin au Tibet) is the twentieth volume of
The Adventures of Tintin, the comics series by Belgian cartoonist Hergé. The
story tells of the young reporter Tintin in search of his friend Chang
Chong-Chen, who the authorities claim has died in a plane crash in the
Himalayas. Convinced that Chang has survived, Tintin leads his companions
across the Himalayas to the plateau of Tibet, along the way encountering the
mysterious Yeti. This is a comic with a good story to it. I think I will tell

two Kuomintang leaders: the late president Chiang Kai-shek in nearby Cihu and
his son Chiang Ching-kuo in Touliao. Back Cihu has no military use anymore, because of the Taoyuan County government's efforts to open the area to the public. There ' s a fine view of the lake.

To begin your journey by bus, you need to get to Daxi (大溪; Dàx ) first. Take the MRT to Ximen Station and take exit 2. Walk south to Guiyang St and turn left. Cross the road and just past Yanping Rd wait at the

bus stop in front of Soochow University. Catch the Taipei–Daxi bus #9103 (NT124, one hour, head way timetable) to the Taoyuan Bus Company (桃園客運; 03-388 2002) station in Daxi. This is the last stop.

From here you can catch buses as far as Xiao Wulai, but be warned that there are fewer and fewer buses running these routes, so it’s best to call the Taoyuan Bus Company to confirm the schedule. It’s so much better to have your own vehicle. Consider renting a car in Taipei or Zhongli.

There are also Bed and Breakfast like 維多莉雅民宿 but I think you'd better to know Chinese then you can book the room.

On 12 March, 2011 I visited National Palace Museum for some reason. This was the second time I visited the museum. It's many years since I looked round it for the first time. The mainland tourists occupied National Palace Museum, same as anywhere else in Taiwan. From my point of view, National Palace Museum is really a great museum because of treasures of the Forbidden City. The Best of the Best at the National Palace Museum Plus a "Once in a Lifetime Chance" Writing about Taiwan's National Palace Museum (NPM) is, perhaps, the "coals-to-Newcastle" equivalent of travel writing.
Its renovation, ongoing for several years, was pronounced 'completed' with great fanfare in 2007; however, we have to liken the National Palace Museum to a sumptuous gourmet banquet made with the finest ingredients, but prepared by a disinterested chef and arranged by colour-blind kitchen staff." Last week I introduced that there will be Houliao Station here to Dixon. He went ape and will visit Taiwan after two months. Te news said," The Taoyuan International Airport MRT is a rapid transit line planned to connect Taipei and Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, before linking up with the Taoyuan MRT to THSR Taoyuan Station and onwards to Zhongli. Construction began in 2006 and the system was scheduled to begin service in June 2013, but delays have occurred and is now expected to open in 2015" Two types of services will be offered: Commuter Trains and Express Trains. While both trains travel the same route, Express Trains will stop at fewer stations and are specially provided for airport passengers. Commuter Trains, which stop at every station, will operate from Taipei to Zhongli in 70 minutes, while Express Trains will run from Taipei directly to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport in 35 minutes. The news emphasized 35 minutes to Taipei but I prefer to care about the Blue Line of the Taoyuan Metro or Huanbei Station. If Huanbei Station is open, every traveler from Taoyuan International Airport can easily get to my home. If Zhongli Railway Station(A23) is open, you can take the subway and then transfer to a train.
The building ranked officially as the world's tallest from 2004 until the opening of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai in 2010. It is higher than Tokyo Tower and N Seoul Tower but I do not want to spend NT$500 on the ticket. I prefer topping Tokyo Tower for 900yen and topping N Seoul Tower for 7,000 won. My mother, Sophia and I all think it's too expensive.

Anyway, I still love this place so much because there is a huge shopping mall filled with luxury designers. Everyone in Taiwan think Taipei 101 is the go to must see in Taipei. On January 28, 2012 my sister wanted to glance round Taipei 101. I drove my family to the building. I do not like to drive in Taipei and now you can take the red line to Taipei 101/World Trade Center Station. This building is amazing from far but it is incredible how many different stores and good restaurants are there. Like Dingxian101 which is on the 86th floor you can command views of Taipei City. Taipei 101 is a place that you just simple must see.
