This one has recently been tearing up various BBC Radio 1 shows and for good reason. Sub Focus puts on a fine display of Drum & Bass with this track but unfortunately the release date is not set until April 29th. With extremely high energy live sets and a downright dirty ’09 essential mix backing the Sub Focus reputation further, it looks like Nick Douwma is gearing up for a big 2012 year. Cheers!

I got this one in my inbox the other day and I’m already feeling the vibe of Audrey Napoleon. Being a resident DJ at The Music Box and Avalon Hollywood isn’t a bad gig to get some recognition from big names. Since that started, she has been making a name for herself and establishing her presence in electronic music. Her deep tech house style is representing the female DJ image well and I look forward to hearing more from Audrey Napoleon.

Apparently Cupertino will proceed to offer the previous, discontinued version of Final Cut Studio through telephone sales. By Calling 800-MY-APPLE and asking for Final Cut Studio (part number MB642Z/A) you can get yourself Final Cut Pro 7, Motion 4, Soundtrack Pro 3, DVD Studio Pro 4, Color 1.5 and Compressor 3.5 for $999, or $899. Although it is a step up from $299.99 for Final Cut Pro X it may be worth the investment.

Google today updated their official app for Google Plus. It now supports the iPod Touch and iPad. This is one step better than only supporting the iPhone.

The iPad version is nott native, making you have to pixel double the app, but that is stil better than no support at all.

You can download the app via the iOS App Store here.

When the iPad 2 first launched earlier this year, it was followed by massive shipping delays that caused customers to wait weeks. Apple has been improving the shipping times as time increases from the launch date and now finally after months, the shipping times are within 24 hours. This may lead to a short spike in sales for the iPad 2. At first, the shipping times were 4-5 weeks. Gradually reducing each week, the various iPad models are finally shipping within 24 hours. Hopefully with future releases, Apple does allow pre-orders as shipping times could progress and customers can get their products even faster and enjoy.

We all know iOS 5 coming this Fall has the potential to be released alongside a new generation of Apple’s iPhone, the iPhone 5. We also know iOS 5 has a new service called iCloud, yesterday Apple released iCloud.com to the public to access the web interface.

While I was browsing through iCloud.com looking at all of the new features, I noticed that under the iWork section it has nice graphics of an iPhone and iPad. If you look closely at the iPhone, you notice that the bezel on the iPhone looks thinner than the iPhone 4, which lead me to think that the iPhone in that image coud possibly be the upcoming and unreleased iPhone 5.

Rumors about the iPhone 5 have reported that it will have a smaller bezel. This fits directly in line with this image. As it could be a long shot or an illusion, it does boast a possible revision of being Apple’s next iPhone. Take a look at the three images after the break

IHS iSuppli this week revealed the results of eight tablet that they tore down. The results showed us that with Apple controlling iOS, it allows themselves to reduce the costs of the devices by limiting memory and using thinner batteries.

The iPad 2 contains 512 megabytes of ram, just a fraction of what most other tablets have, but with lower memory, it allows Apple to save $14 in manufacturing costs.

By controlling the operating system, Apple can make sure that the applications can use memory efficient, making 512 megabytes more than enough memory to run the apps.

If you look at the chart above, you can see that the iPad one of the cheapest tablet on the list, while other tablets are almost $200 more than the iPad

Apple’s battery design also allows the iPad to be the thinnest on the market, while having a long lasting life.

via: IHS iSuppli

Apple’s control over the operating system allows it to reduce costs by limiting the quantity of memory in the iPad. In the current-generation iPad 2, the density of synchronous dynamic random access memory (SDRAM) is 512 megabytes—half that of the 1 gigabtye used in competitive designs. This memory density reduction results in a nearly $14 reduction in the BOM of the iPad 2 compared to other tablets. Likewise, the original iPad contained half as much SDRAM as comparable competitive devices with single-core applications processors.

“The iPad’s efficient memory usage stems from the fundamental difference in the architecture of the operating system,” Lam said. “Apple’s iOS handles multitasking differently than other tablet operating systems, allowing it to reduce the amount of memory required to support the microprocessor.”

Also, Apple’s tight management of its product design, software integration and component selection also allow the iPad’s battery to be the thinnest of all competing tablet designs while still having the largest capacity.

The Guardian has reported that the iPhone 5 is internally being tested by carriers and we could see it in as little as a few weeks. The testing is going underway with high security with only a few individuals being able to access the new device to reduce the probability of having any leaks.

The next iPhones go for their testing inside locked and sealed boxes so that the carriers can carry out checks on their network compatibility in their labs. It’s very high security, as you could guess; my understanding is that barely anyone inside the carriers gets to open those boxes, and even when they do the hardware is encased in a dummy body which means there’s no clue to what the actual phone will do. This, by the way, is what led to “Antennagate”: there simply hadn’t been enough people outside Apple who had tried the iPhone 4 at length in its real form to discover the problems with its reception.

If this report is true, it means that the iPhone 5 is out there and once it gets approval by the carriers, all Apple has to do is manufacture them and release them to us. This is most likely true since Apple only releases the devices to carriers only weeks before the public release is expected, to reduce on unexpected leaks from the carriers.

What do you think? When will the iPhone be released? Discuss it in the comments below!
