I was collecting a neighbor's mail recently and picked up several packages, and tons of mail. As usual, I just put all the mail and packages into a big bag.

The first time I heard about this product, I was intrigued.

This is a soap dispenser from the Pampered Chef.
The pump --pumps out foam soap instead of liquid soap.

I really love products that save money and the environment. Therefore, I expected to totally love this product. You fill the bottle with about a half an inch of liquid hand soap, and then you fill the rest with plain tap water. Out comes the foamy soap that is so easy to wash with. The soap lathers very well, and rinses off easily.

So, I used the soap dispenser for a couple of days, and thought about it for a while, I was not totally in love with it. Then, I filled the dispenser with a fabulous luxurious scented hand soap, filled the rest with water, gave a little shake and tried the pump again. I was in love! Now, my favorite fancy schmancy hand soap (that costs a fortune) was economical and user friendly. It was amazing, I love a wonderful smelling soap, but sometimes the price is just too much for soap. This dispenser changed that problem immediately.

One of the best "side effects" from the foam soap is that my kids love to use it. It feels squishy in their hands, and it is easy to wash with. The even better side effect is that since my kids are now using great smelling soap, I can actually make sure they washed their hands.... with just a little sniff!!

I have a dog, we all know that by now, and lets face it - dogs smell! Especially when they come in from the rain. I could barely wait to get home from the nail salon to blog about this. I am so excited about a new product that just came out by OPI. It is called OPI AXXIUM GEL SYSTEM. It is an amazing new technology for nails.

I have really bad nails, they break, they split, and the polish always chips. You name it, I have tried it, tips, acrylic, wraps, gel and of course every nail growth product ever put out on the market.... For the past few years, the big craze was a permanent french manicure with gel and UV lights. This is a great system, but really expensive, and requires a lot of maintenance. Sure, it lasts two weeks, but then.... you need fills, new gel and all sorts of other things. Then when you decide you you do not want the gel anymore, they have to come off. That means your nails are a mess underneath.

This new system is not expensive, it is not a big commitment and (drum roll) there is NO drying time. That is right, they put the gel color on, you put your hands in the UV light and you are done. You can get your keys out of your handbag yourself! The manicure lasts 2 weeks!! That means you do not need to get a manicure for a big event the same day as the event, you can do it when it is convenient. The manicure will not chip or fade or peel off. After two weeks, you soak for a few minutes and the gel is gone. You can choose to do it again, or leave your nails plain. The gel totally protects your nails so that they can grow. It is all about the flexibility and choice!

I consider myself an extremely organized person living in a disorganized person's body. I have really good intentions and schemes to organize just about everything from my medicine cabinet to my attic. Problem is, they are mostly just dreams.

The one area of my life that is pretty organized is my planner or my agenda book.
One thing I love more than anything is a fabulous date book or planner. I know it sounds a bit shallow, but I love to turn the pages, look at the week ahead, see the past week and make plans that I won't forget. I tried to do the new age electronic thing with a Blackberry and Palm. It just didn't feel right. I want to turn the pages, and I want to write things down, they seem more concrete.

I recently purchased the momAgenda Desktop Planner. This is so great for busy people who need to record playdates, soccer games, tennis matches, spa appointments, business meetings and anything else.

The momAgenda has weekly and monthly planner pages, plenty of room to record anything you want. What I really love is that you can see the week on two pages when it is open. The top section of the planner has an entire section that you can write down morning, noon and evening appoints for YOURSELF. The bottom half has space to plan for other members of the household. Now I never confuse getting a child to birthday party with a business meeting. Everything has it's own space.

The best part is that is looks awesome. The planners come in so many bright and lively colors. It is a beautiful book that I love to have out on my desk.

I Am Not a Paper Cup

This is so clever! I love coffee, and over the years I realize, I love the coffee I make at home. It always has the right amount of sweetener, the right amount of milk and I can control whether it is skim or 2%. Not even counting how much money making your own coffee at home saves verses that S place.

The problem is, that I love to have my coffee in the car, or at a meeting, shopping or where ever. I have had sooooo soooo sooo many reusable insulated travel coffee mugs. The same thing happens each time. I put it in the dishwasher, the insulated area fills with water, and boom it it ruined. The water leaks out ever so slowly... onto my clothes.

Well, this adorable cup is insulated, reusable, dishwasher safe, microwave safe and quite clever. It keeps my coffee really hot, and I love that it from the horrors of all the Styrofoam cups.

Before you decide that I am misguided about this one, read on!

At first I thought this is just crazy. Then, I thought about it for a while, and realized, that BookSwim is brilliant.

BookSwim describes themselves as Netflix for books.

Basically, it is an online book rental library service that lends best sellers, hardcovers, softcovers and text books. There are several different plans to choose from. The facts are these: you find books you want to read, you put them into a queue, they ship the book to your house without any extra shipping charges, then you read the book and you send it back to BookSwim in a FREE PREPAID MAILER!!!

So now you are saying... I can just go to the library or the book store. To that I say that the Library does not always have the book that you want to read right then and there. The Library does not let you keep books as long as you desire. With BookSwim, you can get the book that you WANT immediately without having to wait on the waiting list with everyone else. Best of all.... NO MORE LATE FEES. It seems that any book I want is usually in high demand, therefore, I am not permitted to renew it. Sometimes 14 days is just not enough time to read a book.

Just check it out. The price of one month is the price of one purchased book. Look at it this way, if we all decided to "recycle" books, then so many trees would not have to be cut down.

This Little Piggy Went to Market and This Little Piggy Used Scan It!!

Like most mommies, I have to go to the market or grocery store at least 1 - 2 times a week to feed my family. I have always always always hated it. Particularly, I hate filling up my cart, searching for prices, searching for sales items...then taking EVERYTHING out of my cart putting it on the belt, waiting for the cashier to ring it all up, bagging it all up.... and then, putting everything BACK into the cart (all while a screaming child is pulling candy off the display next to the cashier).

Well...... no more!! Stop & Shop Supermarkets have a new in store service that is called SCAN IT! Here is the deal, you scan your card at the kiosk as you walk into the store, you pick up your flashing handheld scanner. It is like a scanner you might use to register for your wedding. Then you open up your bags, and off you go. As you take items off the shelf, you zap an item with the scanner. Immediately the price comes up, the sale if any shows up, and it has a running tally of how much you have spent. You have now eliminated all the crazy in between steps. You bag as you shop and best of all you can use your own recyclable bags.

If you decide you do not want an item, no problem! Just remove it from the cart, zap it with the scanner, hit remove, and move on. The device lets you check the price of an item before you decide to buy it. This is great for these difficult times. Basically the scanner reads the bar code on the item, just as if you were swiping at the checkout counter.

One really cool aspect is that since the scanner links to your own personal Stop & Shop card, the scanner offers you targeted products that are on sale as you walk down the isles. For example, if you buy diapers and baby food all the time, the scanner makes this great cash register cha ching sound, notifying you of a sale.

Checking out of the store is a breeze! You walk up to the check out, scan your personal card, scan your remote pay and you are done. Everything is already tallied and bagged. The amount of time this saves is amazing.

I find that I actually buy less and save more when I use the SCAN IT! devise. I know exactly how much I am spending at every moment, and I can take advantage of the great sales.

Iwako Japanese Erasers

Kids love love love to collect stuff! One year it is Webkinz, or Beanie Babies or Butter Sweat Shirts.

Now kids are collecting these cute little Japanese Erasers. At least these are really small, very inexpensive and useful.

The erasers come in many many different shapes, colors, themes and sizes. I really love this dessert set of cakes, ice cream, and pancakes - the amount of detail is sweet! You can take them apart and put them back together too. And they erase great.

This is a wonderful opportunity to gather information and ideas from around the world. We can all make small changes and big changes to our daily lives. I will try to post things that are green and helpful to the environment. I really hope that everyone has their reusable shopping bags in their car at all times. These Popchips are out of this world. I love potato chips and anything salty. I do not, however, love the calories that come with those chips. Regular potato chips are full of flavor, texture and FAT.

I love make-up, in case you were not sure, I love all make-up. I love to try every new product that comes onto the market, I love every new fragrance and I especially love when companies come out with inventive new products.

Bobbi Brown cosmetics has this awesome new line of eye shadows. The collection comes in a small glass pot. Just the outside itself is gorgeous. My mother would say "don't judge a book by it's cover" but what is inside here is as awesome as the outside.

The eyeshadow stays on ALL day, that's right, no smudging, no flaking and no disappearing. I have very sensitive eyes, and I really hate when eyeshadow flakes into my eyes and blurs my vision.
