		<title>Research Fellow (Nutrion Scientist)</title>
			<description>The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) seeks a Human Nutrition Scientist to serve as a Research Fellow for the HarvestPlus Challenge Program, one of four Challenge Programs (CPs) approved by the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). HarvestPlus is an international, multi-disciplinary alliance, which seeks to breed and disseminate staple food crops, which are relatively high in bioavailable micronutrients as a promising means to reduce micronutrient malnutrition in developing countries. The initial work will be analyzing opportunities to involve small farmers in four countries - Ghana, Mozambique, Morocco and Vietnam - in international carbon markets and carbon offset programs, and includes development of interactions and collaboration with other research organizations, national and local officials.
The Fellow will conduct research and provide modeling and agriculture technology support as part of an interdisciplinary team to identify a variety of options to help decision-makers at various levels access the international carbon markets as they develop, either voluntary markets or markets that might arise as a result of international climate change negotiations. 		<title>Postdoctoral/Research Fellow</title>
			<description>The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) or Research Fellow (RF) to conduct research on improving policies for inclusive agricultural growth under the Cereal System Initiative for South Asia Project. The successful candidate should be able to analyze research issues related to agricultural technology with emphasis on cropping systems and management strategies. The study will assess the supply-demand outlook for South Asia under different pattern of technology adoption and explore a policy agenda and framework for the state and national governments in the region for the widespread adoption of technologies developed in this project. Policies and institutional issues at the national level will likewise be evaluated.
The Fellow will conduct research and provide modeling and agriculture technology support as part of an interdisciplinary team to identify a variety of options that will improve decision-makers ability to target solutions to the poor in developing countries. The objective of the SAKSS-Malawi program is to enhance the capacity of stakeholders in Malawi's agricultural sector to undertake evidence-based policy making to foster agricultural growth, rural development, and poverty reduction. SAKSS-Malawi supports policy research and capacity strengthening for the implementation of the country's national agricultural development strategy, the Agricultural Development Programme, to effectively address its three focus areas of Food Security, Commercialization of Agriculture, and Sustainable Land and Water Management. The Fellow will conduct demand-driven policy research and build capacity in counterpart institutions to conduct such policy research as part of IFPRI's efforts to ensure that SAKSS-Malawi activities support policy effectiveness and coherence within the agricultural sector as well as between the agricultural sector and other sectors that is necessary for agricultural growth, economic transformation, and poverty reduction in the country. HarvestPlus is an international, multi-disciplinary alliance, which seeks to breed and disseminate staple food crops, which are relatively high in bioavailable micronutrients as a promising means to reduce micronutrient malnutrition in developing countries. HarvestPlus involves collaboration between ten CGIAR Centers and a large number of partner institutions in developing and developed countries.
The primary responsibilities of this position are to manage all aspects of the dietary intake assessment and related research components necessary for the design and impact assessment of biofortified staple food crops in developing countries. Dietary assessment will focus on the intake of the primary nutrients targeted by the HarvestPlus biofortification program (iron, zinc, and provitamin A) and intake of the staple food crop of interest. The objective of the strategy support program is to enhance the capacity of stakeholders in Malawi's agricultural sector to undertake evidence-based policy making to foster agricultural growth, rural development, and poverty reduction. 		<title>Senior Research Fellow</title>
			<description>The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) seeks a Senior Research Fellow to conduct modeling of food and water safety problems in the context of developing countries. The successful candidate should be able to develop and analyze probabilistic models addressing human health and ecological risk associated with policy options. Topics will range from modeling the likelihood of entry and spread of plant and animal diseases to modeling the probability of microbial and environmental contaminants on food products produced by smallholders in developing countries. 		<title>Research/ Senior Research Fellow</title>
			<description>The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) seeks a qualified candidate at the rank of Research Fellow (RF)/Senior Research Fellow (SRF) to serve as a Policy Analyst to provide policy advice to the Plan for Modernization of Agriculture (PMA) Secretariat, and as the Leader of its Country Strategy Program in Uganda. The final position level will be determined by actual years of experience. This is a two-year, fixed-term, renewable appointment. The RF/SRF will be responsible for conducting policy research and analysis, policy advice, capacity strengthening and policy communication in Uganda. It is estimated that the Fellow will allocate approximately 75% of his/her time to provide analytical support to the PMA Secretariat and the other 25% on managing the overall country program. The Fellow would be responsible for timely completion of research projects, actively publish papers/books, and participate in various conferences, policy advisory forums, and capacity strengthening programs. The Director of the Development Strategy and Governance Division of IFPRI and the Director of PMA Secretariat will jointly set the annual workplans.
