Update: Verified the latest Ro-Ghoul codes on August 12, 2026

Ro-Ghoul is the long-running Tokyo Ghoul fighting game on Roblox, and its grind is brutal without help. Ranking up a kagune or quinque eats millions of RC cells, and good masks cost serious Yen. The working codes below hand you tens of millions of RC and Yen, plus Color Credits and Hearts, before you fight anyone. That is hours of farming skipped in one sitting. Ro-Ghoul codes used to stay valid forever, but the dated update codes now expire with each patch cycle, so redeem the newest ones first.

All working Ro-Ghoul codes

TY FOR PLAYING 🙂: 1M RC, 10M Yen, 30 Color Credits, 20 Hearts

Copy each code exactly, since many include dates, slashes, or punctuation that are easy to mistype.

Expired Ro-Ghoul codes

02/26/26 upd, PKKen PR, Shuu2!, 02/21/26 upd, Valentines26, 02/07/26 upd, Taki Face, 02/02/26 upd, YoungEtoBoss, 01/31/26 upd, 01/29/26 upd, ArimaBoss, 01/14/26 upd, EyepatchK1, HNY26, FurutaK1, Xmas25, Winter25, 12/12/25 teaser, SoftReCode YamoK1, Grateful25, ReKaika1, Hallow25, Hallow25Mask, ReEto1!, ReLycanK1, Fuchi1, BOOSTS!!!, ANNIVERSARY-6, ANNIVERSARY-5, ANNIVERSARY-4, ANNIVERSARY-2, HNY25, HappyHolidays24!, Hallow24, Thanksgiving24, XMAS23, Hallow23, 500MV, 300MV, 1M FAVS, HNY2020, TG-10th-ANNIVERSARY!, RGISBACK!, GFBDAY24, plus the old Sub2 creator codes.

Most Ro-Ghoul lists online are packed with dead strings because dated update codes and seasonal drops now die with each patch.

How to redeem Ro-Ghoul codes

Older guides tell you to type
!Code
in chat. That was the old method; the game now has a proper code box.

Paste a working code into the text box.

Click Submit Code to collect the reward.

Why a Ro-Ghoul code may not work

It expired: Check the expired list above before blaming your typing.

You typed it wrong: Codes like
03/04/26 upd
and
Kuzen1-K1-K2-PK1!
are typo traps. Copy and paste instead.

You already used it: Every code works once per Roblox account.

You added the old prefix:
!Code
belongs to the retired chat method, not the code box.

Your server is old: After a new code drops, join a fresh server before trying it.

If a code fails in a fresh server after a clean paste, treat it as expired and move on. And if Roblox will not let you into a server at all, fix Roblox Error Code 279 before testing any codes.

Where to find more Ro-Ghoul codes

New codes arrive with updates, boss releases, anniversaries, and holiday events. Watch these official channels:

Ro-Ghoul Discord

Since Ro-Ghoul codes no longer live forever, this page is worth bookmarking; we retest the list so you do not waste time on dead strings.

OpenAI's ChatGPT desktop app is now on Linux in preview, bundling ChatGPT, Work, and Codex, with .deb and .rpm packages for Ubuntu, Debian, and Fedora. (151 chars)

OpenAI has launched the ChatGPT desktop app for Linux, announced on X on August 11. The app is a preview build that brings ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work, and Codex together in one native desktop app, and it is available worldwide from day one.

Linux was the last major desktop platform without an official ChatGPT app after macOS and Windows. OpenAI says Linux has been one of its most-requested platforms, and this launch finally puts the desktop app on all three.

What the Linux app can do

This is the same workspace-style app OpenAI ships on other desktops, not a wrapped-up website. You can organize chats into projects, work with local files without uploading them anywhere first, and use browser workflows inside the app. Codex is built in too, so it can run directly in your local repos, and ChatGPT Work handles multi-step tasks across apps for those on work plans.

The app is free to use with an OpenAI account, though some features still depend on your plan.

Supported distros and how to get it

OpenAI has tested the app on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and 26.04 LTS, Debian 13, and Fedora 43 and 44. Distros built on those bases should generally work as well, so most popular Ubuntu and Fedora flavors are covered.

You can grab it from OpenAI’s download page as a .deb or .rpm package, with both x64 and ARM64 builds available. The installer also adds an OpenAI repository to your system, so future updates arrive through your regular package manager instead of manual downloads.

It is still a preview, so expect rough edges

OpenAI is clear that this is a preview, and early feedback backs that up. Users in the community thread have already flagged issues like broken Japanese input on Fedora KDE under Wayland, and OpenAI warns that feature integrations may not work reliably yet. If you depend on ChatGPT for real work, the browser version is still the safer option for now.

The app is also closed source, which will not sit well with everyone on Linux. But OpenAI is not alone here anymore either. Anthropic brought its Claude desktop app to Linux about a month ago, so the two biggest AI chatbots now treat Linux as a platform worth shipping for rather than an afterthought.
The post ChatGPT desktop app is now available on Linux in preview appeared first on iGeeksBlog.

References in WhatsApp beta for iOS 26.31.10.70 point to a floating in-chat search button on iPhone, cutting the detour through the chat info screen.

The post WhatsApp is building a faster way to search chats on iPhone appeared first on iGeeksBlog.

WhatsApp is working on a search button that sits right inside the chat screen on iPhone, according to WABetaInfo. References to the feature showed up in WhatsApp beta for iOS 26.31.10.70 on TestFlight. Tap the button and you can search that conversation directly, without leaving it.

That fixes a genuinely annoying detour. Right now, searching inside a chat on iPhone means tapping the contact or group name at the top, scrolling the chat info screen, and then tapping Search. iPad users get a quicker route through the More button, but the iPhone app has never had an in-chat shortcut.

The button only shows up when you scroll back

The new search button won’t sit on the screen permanently. It appears in the bottom-right corner once you start scrolling up through older messages and disappears again when you return to the bottom of the conversation, the same way the jump-to-latest-message arrow behaves now.

That placement makes sense. Scrolling back through months of messages is exactly the moment you give up and want to search instead, and the button will be right there when it happens.

The search itself is unchanged. The button opens the same in-chat search you get from the chat info screen today, including the calendar icon for jumping to messages from a specific date. What changes is how fast you reach it: one tap instead of a trip out of the conversation.

Not available yet, even in beta

The feature is still under development. WhatsApp hasn’t enabled it for beta testers, and there’s no word on a release date, so it could take a while to reach the App Store version. Beta references also don’t guarantee a feature ships at all, though a search shortcut this small and useful seems like a safe bet.

WhatsApp has been steadily filling gaps in its iOS app lately, from testing Meta AI summaries for unread messages to a connected peripherals listing in Linked Devices. Until the search button arrives, the chat info screen remains the way in, and there are plenty of other WhatsApp tricks on iPhone that work today.
The post WhatsApp is building a faster way to search chats on iPhone appeared first on iGeeksBlog.

Macworld found references to six unreleased iPhone models in iOS 27 beta 5, tucked inside system files that handle battery drivers and Battery Intelligence. It is the first time the full rumored 2026-2027 lineup has shown up together in a beta.

Which iPhones the identifiers point to

The code only lists identifiers, not names. The matches below come from earlier leaks and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reporting, so treat them as well-founded guesses rather than confirmations.

Identifier

Believed to be

Expected launch

V63

iPhone 18 Pro

September 2026

V64

iPhone 18 Pro Max

September 2026

V68

iPhone Ultra (foldable)

September 2026

V67

iPhone 18

Early 2027

V69

iPhone 18e

Early 2027

V62

iPhone Air 2

Early 2027

The identifiers do not reveal specs, designs, or prices. Their location still makes sense: iOS has to support each new phone’s power-management setup before the hardware ships, which is why unreleased models tend to leak through battery code first.

Earlier iOS 27 betas already contained references to foldable displays and dual-battery configurations that no current iPhone uses, both of which fit the foldable expected this fall. Gurman has also said much of iOS 27 itself is being built around that foldable, with features designed for its larger inner display.

The roadmap matches the split-launch reports

The six models line up with what Gurman and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo have been reporting for months: Apple plans to break the iPhone 18 generation into two waves instead of one September event. iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the foldable arrive this fall, while the standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and a second-generation iPhone Air follow in spring 2027.

Apple has not confirmed any of these devices, and identifiers can shift or get shelved before launch. But Apple preparing its own operating system for six specific new phones is harder to dismiss than a supply-chain rumor. If the schedule holds, September’s event will be a Pro-and-foldable show, and anyone waiting for a cheaper iPhone 18 has about six extra months to sit out.
The post iOS 27 beta code references all six iPhone 18 models, including the foldable appeared first on iGeeksBlog.

xAI has launched Grok Bot, a new app for Mac and iPhone that runs a team of always-on AI agents, each with its own computer in the cloud. You give a bot a task in plain chat, and it signs into your apps and websites, does the work, and only comes back when it needs your approval. The early beta went live on August 11 for Mac, iOS, Windows, and Linux, with Android coming later.

This is also the first big product to come out of the SpaceX-Cursor tie-up. SpaceX, which folded xAI into itself earlier this year, agreed in June to buy Cursor’s maker Anysphere for $60 billion, and Grok Bot is bundled with both Grok and Cursor subscriptions while the deal heads toward closing.

Agents that keep working after you close your Mac

The pitch is simple: instead of a chatbot that suggests steps, each Grok Bot gets a dedicated cloud computer and does the steps itself. Because the work happens in the cloud, jobs keep running when your MacBook lid is closed or you’re away from your desk. You can fire off a task from the iPhone app and check the result later.

A few things stand out from xAI’s announcement:

Bots sign into your existing apps and websites, including ones without an API, though xAI hasn’t detailed how that authentication works.

You can run several bots in parallel, and one bot can manage specialist bots for different jobs.

Bots can join group chats to coordinate work, split tasks, and escalate decisions to you.

They learn by watching how you work, save those procedures as routines, and repeat them on their own.

xAI says its own teams have been using the bots for CRM cleanup, sales research, invoice processing, email drafts, and bug reproduction. The demos look like real delegation rather than autocomplete, but this is an early beta, and handing an AI agent your logins is a trust exercise xAI still has to earn.

Who can try it, and what it costs

Access is limited to the most expensive tiers right now. The beta is open to SuperGrok Heavy ($300 per month), Cursor Ultra ($200 per month), and Cursor Teams Premium ($120 per user per month) subscribers, who can get started at x.ai/bot. Businesses can join a waitlist.

On Apple platforms, that means dedicated Grok Bot apps for macOS and iOS, separate from the regular Grok app on your iPhone. Windows gets a desktop app too, while Linux users work through the terminal. There’s no word yet on whether the iOS app will land on the App Store or stay behind xAI’s own distribution.

Elon Musk says the rollout won’t stay this narrow for long. He posted that xAI will widen the beta once the basic issues are fixed, alongside the release of Grok 4.6 later this week.

Grok Bot lands in a crowded race to put agents on your desktop. OpenAI’s ChatGPT Agent already drives a virtual computer to finish multi-step tasks, and Google is pushing Gemini Spark as a 24/7 agent for your apps. xAI’s twist is giving every user a fleet of cloud machines instead of one sandboxed session, and pricing it, for now, like a product for people whose time is worth $300 a month.
The post Grok Bot brings always-on AI agents to your Mac and iPhone appeared first on iGeeksBlog.

Everything you need to know before leaving Android behind and moving your data to an iPhone.

The post I moved my Android data to an iPhone: Here’s the transfer method I’d use again appeared first on iGeeksBlog.

I’ll be honest: moving from Android to iPhone used to be the part of the switch I dreaded most. The iPhone itself is easy to set up. The headache is everything sitting on the old Android phone, including thousands of photos, years of WhatsApp conversations, contacts, messages, files, and the phone number you don’t want to lose.

In 2026, however, this issue is much less troublesome. Apple still recommends Move to iOS, but there is now another option: compatible Android phones running Android 17 or later can transfer data to an iPhone without installing the Move to iOS app. Apple also supports a direct USB-C connection for faster transfers.

Here’s exactly how I move data from Android to iPhone.

What can you transfer from Android to iPhone?

Before starting, it helps to know what Apple can actually move. Otherwise, you may finish the transfer and wonder where your music collection or PDF files went.

Apple says the supported transfer can include:

Contacts

Message history

SMS messages

Call history

Camera photos and videos

Photo albums

Files and folders

Accessibility settings

Display settings

Web bookmarks

Mail accounts

WhatsApp messages and media

Voice Memos

Calendars

Some free apps that are available on both Google Play and the App Store and support the transfer feature

That covers most of the data I would consider important when changing phones. But there are some notable exceptions.

What doesn’t automatically transfer?

Apple specifically says music, books, and PDFs need to be moved manually. Apps that aren’t available on the App Store also won’t magically appear on your iPhone.

So don’t think of this as cloning your Android phone onto an iPhone. It’s better to think of it as moving the supported data into Apple’s ecosystem and then rebuilding the rest.

Before you transfer data from Android to iPhone

This is the part I wouldn’t rush.

Apple recommends turning on Wi-Fi and plugging both phones into power before beginning. You should also make sure everything you’re transferring, including data stored on an external Micro SD card, will fit on the new iPhone.

I would check these things first:

Charge both phones.

Plug both phones into power.

Turn on Wi-Fi on Android.

Check the available storage on your iPhone.

Check how much data is actually stored on Android.

Include Micro SD card content in your storage calculation.

Update Chrome on Android to transfer Chrome bookmarks.

Keep your USB-C cable nearby if you want to try a wired transfer.

Tip: If WhatsApp contains years of photos and videos, don’t underestimate how much space it can consume.

Should you use a USB-C cable to transfer Android data to an iPhone?

Yes, if you have a compatible cable.

Apple says you can directly connect an Android phone and an iPhone with a USB-C cable for faster transfer. That’s my preferred approach when moving a large amount of data.

A wireless transfer is convenient, but when you’re moving years of photos, videos, and messages, I would rather have the two phones physically connected than depend entirely on a wireless connection.

One small warning: Apple notes that when you connect the phones by cable, Android may show a USB-related pop-up, and you might need to adjust the USB settings before Move to iOS can start.

Method 1: Transfer data from Android to iPhone with Move to iOS

This remains the most universal official method. If your Android device does not support Apple’s new app-free transfer system, then this is how I’d do it.

Step 1: Start setting up your iPhone

Turn on the new iPhone and place it near your Android phone, and follow the setup instructions.

On the Quick Start screen, choose Set Up Without Another Device and continue.

Eventually, you’ll reach the Transfer Your Apps & Data screen.

Then tap From Android and select Transfer with App.

Note: If you’ve already completed iPhone setup, you need to erase the iPhone and start again to use Move to iOS. If you don’t want to erase it, you’ll need to move your content manually instead.

Step 2: Open Move to iOS on Android

On your Android phone, open the Move to iOS app.

I didn’t have it installed. But don’t worry, Apple provides a QR code shortcut on the new iPhone that takes you to the Google Play download page.

Once downloaded, launch the Move to iOS app and follow the next steps:

Tap Continue.

Read and accept Apple’s terms.

Choose whether to automatically send app data to Apple. I selected Automatically Send to share app data seamlessly.

Tap Continue to move through the permission prompts.

Allow Location and Notifications permissions when requested.

If you’re using a USB-C cable, you may also see a USB settings prompt.

Step 3: Enter the transfer code

On your iPhone, tap Continue when you reach the Move from Android screen. The iPhone will display a six-digit or ten-digit code.

Enter that code into the Android phone. The iPhone essentially creates a temporary connection so the two phones can communicate.

Step 4: Connect Android to the iPhone’s temporary Wi-Fi network

The iPhone creates a temporary Wi-Fi network.

When Android asks whether you want to join it, tap Connect.

Wait for the Transfer Data screen to appear.

If Android displays a warning about a weak internet connection, don’t panic. Apple specifically says you can ignore that alert during this process.

Step 5: Choose what you want to transfer

Now you’ll see the data that can be moved.

Select what you want to transfer and tap Continue. I have already shared the data types you can move from Android and iPhone.

Now, leave both phones alone until the iPhone’s loading bar finishes.

Even if the Android phone says the transfer is complete, I always wait until the progress bar on the iPhone has finished. Keep the phones close together and plugged in.

I would not:

Open another Android app

Answer a phone call

Turn off the screen unnecessarily

Walk away with one phone

Disconnect the Wi-Fi

Restart either phone

Apple specifically warns that using another app or receiving a call on Android before the transfer finishes can prevent the content from transferring.

Step 6: Complete the setup

Once the progress bar completes, tap Done on your Android device.

Also, tap Continue on your iOS device and follow the on-screen instructions to sign in to your Apple Account and continue setting up your device.

You can activate your phone number and SIM or eSIM on the iPhone during the move. Depending on your carrier, you may be directed to the carrier’s website to complete activation.

Method 2: Transfer data from Android to iPhone without the app

Apple has upgraded the Move to iOS app to make the transfer seamless.

If you have a supported Android device running a compatible version of Android 17 or later, you can transfer data without installing Move to iOS. Device-manufacturer support is required, so Android 17 alone doesn’t guarantee that every phone supports the feature.

If your phone supports it, I’d choose this method first.

How does transfer without Move to iOS app work

On the new iPhone:

Begin iPhone setup.

Go to Transfer Your Apps & Data.

Tap From Android and select Transfer without App.

Place the Android phone next to the iPhone.

Tap Continue.

Your iPhone will show a QR code to establish a connection. Use the Android camera to scan it.

Select the data you want to transfer to your Android. It includes photos, contacts, calendars, call history, and messages.

Wait for the transfer to finish.

Tap Continue on the iPhone.

The process is as simple as that. Check if everything has been moved successfully before factory resetting your Android.

The best part is that I can quickly transfer my eSIM to the new iPhone with the app-free method. After the data transfer, select the phone number on your Android device and tap Transfer. Once the eSIM transfer is complete, continue setting up the iPhone.

However, this depends on the device and carrier, so I wouldn’t assume every Android-to-iPhone switch will have a one-tap eSIM experience. You may need to manually activate the number in that case.

What if the QR code won’t scan?

You aren’t stuck. Apple provides a manual pairing method for the app-free transfer.

On the iPhone, when the QR code appears, tap Other Options.

Then on Android, follow these steps:

Go to Settings and select Google Services.

Tap All Services and select Pair with iPhone or iPad > Copy Data.

Now, type the session ID and pairing code shown on your iPhone or iPad and tap Continue.

Wait for the transfer to complete on your iPhone or iPad.

Note: If your Android phone doesn’t provide a place to enter the session ID and pairing code, you may need to contact the device manufacturer.

How to transfer WhatsApp from Android to iPhone

For many Android users, this is the part that matters most.

The good news is that Apple’s Move to iOS process supports transferring WhatsApp messages and media. When you reach the content-selection screen during the transfer, make sure WhatsApp data is included.

After the transfer finishes, I recommend opening WhatsApp on the iPhone and checking:

Recent conversations

Older conversations

Photos

Videos

Group chats

Important attachments

Don’t wipe the Android phone immediately. I would keep the old phone untouched until I’ve checked the data I care about most.

What happens to your Android Apps?

This is where Android-to-iPhone migration behaves differently from moving between two Android phones. Your Android apps don’t simply get copied to iOS.

As per my testing, when a free app is available on both Google Play and the App Store and supports the transfer feature, it moves to iPhone smoothly. Once the transfer is finished, you can download those matched apps from the App Store.

For everything else, you need to open the App Store, download the iPhone version manually, and sign back in.

And if an Android app isn’t available for iPhone, you’ll need to find an alternative.

How to transfer music, books, and PDFs

This is where I think Apple’s automatic transfer deserves an asterisk.

It doesn’t move everything. You need to send music, books, and PDFs manually.

For music: If you use a streaming service, the easiest option is simply to install its iPhone app from the App Store and sign in. The same applies to Apple Music—just sign in with your account.

Transfer Books and PDFs: For Kindle, Nook, Google Play Books, and similar services, install the corresponding iPhone app and sign in to access your library.

Move files: For documents stored in cloud services such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive, install the relevant service’s iPhone app and sign in.

For files, PDFs, and ePub books stored locally, you can use a computer as an intermediate step. Connect your Android phone to a computer and copy the files from the Documents folder. Then connect your iPhone and, on Mac, drag them into the Books app or sync via Finder. On Windows, use the Apple Devices app to sync them.

What if I’ve already set up my iPhone?

Here’s the catch that can save you a lot of frustration: Move to iOS is designed to work during iPhone setup.

If you’ve already finished setting up the iPhone, you need to erase the iPhone and start over to use the Move to iOS transfer. If you don’t want to erase the iPhone, you’ll have to manually move the content, contacts, text messages, call history, and more.

My advice is simple: Don’t spend an hour customizing a brand-new iPhone before deciding how you’re going to transfer your Android data. Choose your transfer method first.

Android-to-iPhone transfer not working? Try these fixes

Move to iOS is convenient, but it isn’t immune to problems. If the transfer fails, I’d go through these fixes in this order. From checking your connection and restarting both phones to ensuring enough storage and updating the software, these simple steps can often get the transfer working again.

1. Keep Move to iOS open

Don’t switch apps on Android, answer calls or let another process interrupt the transfer.

Apple specifically says the Move to iOS app should remain on screen until the transfer finishes.

2. Turn off mobile data

I recommend turning off the Android phone’s cellular data connection, as it might have an unstable speed, and trying the transfer again if you’re having problems.

3. Disable Wi-Fi features that interfere

Some Android phones have features that automatically switch networks or optimize connections.

Apple specifically mentions settings such as Smart Network Switch and Sprint Connections Optimizer as examples of settings that can interfere with the transfer.

4. Forget saved Wi-Fi networks

If your internet connection is still slow or experiencing hiccups, forget the connected Wi-Fi network on your Android device, reconnect to it, and try one more time.

5. Restart both phones

It’s boring advice, but I trust it the most. It removes the cache and refreshes the system.

Restart the Android and iPhone, then start the transfer again. Apple lists restarting both devices among its recommended troubleshooting steps.

What if your iPhone runs out of storage?

This is the problem I would take seriously before starting the transfer.

Sometimes, you may end up with only some content transferred, as the iPhone may appear full even though the transfer didn’t actually finish. In that situation, erase the iPhone, restart the transfer, and select content that fits within the iPhone’s available storage.

So check storage first. If your Android phone has 180GB of photos, videos, and files, moving to a 128GB iPhone won’t magically solve the math.

Switch from Android to iPhone easily!

Switching from Android to iPhone doesn’t have to be complicated. With Move to iOS, Apple’s new Transfer without App option for supported Android 17+ devices, and USB-C transfers, I can move most of my important data without starting from scratch.

I’d recommend checking my storage first, keeping both phones plugged in, and making sure my photos, contacts, messages, WhatsApp chats, and eSIM have transferred successfully. Music, books, and PDFs may still need to be moved manually.

Once everything looks good, you can finally say goodbye to your old Android phone and enjoy your new iPhone without worrying about leaving important data behind.
The post I moved my Android data to an iPhone: Here’s the transfer method I’d use again appeared first on iGeeksBlog.

For a long time, Epic Games has been expanding its catalog of Fortnite celeb skins by collaborating with some of the biggest and most popular names in the music industry. The latest name to be put on the list is that of the American singer Addison Rae, whose in-game cosmetics recently arrived in the Item Shop.

There are two different Addison Rae skins currently available, namely Famous Addison Rae and Addison Rae. While the former is worth 1,800 V-Bucks, the latter comes in at 1,500 V-Bucks. Both these skins and associated cosmetics are up for grabs only until August 16 at 5 PM PT or 8 PM ET. Below, you can find the steps to follow for claiming your desired Addison Rae Fortnite skin.

Then, scroll to the Addison Rae section and select your desired skin.

For those who are looking to purchase both Addison Rae skins, along with associated accessories, going for the Addison Rae Bundle worth 3,600 V-Bucks would be economical. It provides you with all the Addison Rae items available in Fortnite’s Item Shop at a discount of 4,000 V-Bucks.

Wrapping up

Addison Rae is the newest in a series of singers who have been featured in Fortnite so far in 2026. Earlier, her contemporaries included Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan, Laufey, and Lisa, among others. Most recently, Lil Tecca was brought to the Item Shop, being the headline artist for the Fortnite Festival season that kicked off on July 30, 2026.

The consistency with which in-game cosmetics based on music industry figures have rolled out over the past several months has made it understandably an exciting time for the concerned section of Fortnite fans. Interestingly, going by the comments on Fortnite’s X posts announcing Addison Rae, it appears that among the most-wanted artists for the game’s next music collab are Madison Beer and Charli XCX.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve stared at text on my screen and thought, “Why can’t I just copy this?” It might have been text inside an image, a screenshot, a scanned PDF, a paused video, an error message, or a website that simply wouldn’t let me select and copy something.

So I did what most people do: I typed it. Sometimes it was just a sentence, a long error message, or a URL with enough random characters to make typing it manually frustrating. But not anymore, as Windows can now extract text from the screen with just a keyboard shortcut.

Here’s how to use the hidden Windows shortcut for faster copying.

Windows 11 now offers Text Actions as a shortcut

For a feature this useful, Windows hides it surprisingly well. I accidentally stumbled upon a new text-extraction feature in the Snipping Tool. It uses OCR (optical character recognition) to find text inside a screen capture and turn it into something you can copy and paste.

Microsoft says you can use Text Actions to extract text from an image, copy everything in the selected area of the screen, and even quickly redact things like email addresses and phone numbers. The interesting part is that you can access the tool only by pressing the Win + Shift + T shortcut.

Therefore, I don’t need the original text to be selectable. If it’s visible, Windows can try to read it. That makes the shortcut useful for copying text from:

Images and screenshots

Scanned documents and PDFs

Video frames

Error messages

Photos

Presentation slides

Infographics

Apps that don’t allow normal text selection

Web pages where copying text isn’t straightforward

I don’t use Win + Shift + T instead of traditional Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V. I use it when normal copy and paste fails me. That’s why it has become one of my favorite Windows shortcuts.

Before Win + Shift + T, I used to do this

I used to have a complicated process for copying text that wasn’t selectable. If the text was in an image, I’d sometimes search for the original image or website, pause the video to type what was on the screen, or manually type the error message into Google.

And if the text was particularly annoying, I’d take a screenshot and then open it in another app to extract the text. These little interruptions add up to tank my productivity.

The worst one was probably the error messages. You know the ones: a long string of technical text that you want to search online. The message is sitting right there on the screen, but you can’t select it. So you start typing. One wrong character later, your Google search is useless.

With Win + Shift + T, that’s usually no longer necessary. I can select the error message, copy the extracted text, paste it into a search engine, and get back to the actual task. It sounds like a tiny improvement, but it’s worth knowing to save time and effort.

How to copy text from your screen

Using the Windows text extractor is remarkably simple.

Press the Windows key + Shift + T at the same time. Windows opens the text extraction interface.

Click and drag around the area containing the text you want to copy. I’ve found that selecting a too-small area doesn’t trigger extraction.

Windows uses OCR to recognize the characters inside your selection.

Once Windows has recognized the text, you may adjust the selection.

Click the three-dot icon and select Remove line breaks to avoid copying the breaks.

Now, click Copy all text at the top.

Use Ctrl + V to paste the extracted text into a document, search box, email, note, chat, or wherever else you need it. It will appear as plain text without any formatting.

That’s it. The entire process takes only a few seconds and successfully recognizes custom fonts and text on difficult backgrounds.

Tip: As I use the feature all the time, I have enabled automatic copying. After pressing the shortcut, click the three-dot icon on the toolbar and select Automatically copy text.

The situations where I use this Windows OCR shortcut now

The interesting thing about Win + Shift + T is that I didn’t immediately start using it everywhere. It gradually replaced all those browser extensions, PowerToys, and online OCR services.

Here are the situations where it has become part of my regular workflow:

Troubleshooting a PC

This is probably one of the most useful situations. When troubleshooting Windows, you may come across error messages, warning dialogs, installation screens, software license keys, command output, or technical information that you need to search for online.

Instead of typing a long string character by character, I resort to the OCR shortcut to pull the text right off my screen and paste it into a search engine, a support forum, or a chat with someone helping me troubleshoot the problem.

Office work

OCR also comes in handy during everyday Office work. Sometimes the information I need is sitting inside reports, charts, slide decks, or scanned contracts rather than in an editable format.

For example, if someone sends you a screenshot containing a few figures, a reference number, or a paragraph that you need in Word or Excel, you can select the text directly instead of retyping it.

This is especially useful for small pieces of information. The shortcut lets me handle that small task quickly without turning it into a separate document-conversion project.

Studying and research

During research, I often come across useful text that appears in a format where standard text selection doesn’t work. It could be a screenshot from an online lecture, an eBook, a diagram with labels, a PDF handout, a scanned page, or an image containing a definition or quotation.

The OCR shortcut gives me a quick way to pull that information into my notes. I can select the relevant section, copy the extracted text, and put it alongside my other study material.

Everyday tasks

There are plenty of small, unremarkable situations where the shortcut is useful too.

Maybe I have a tracking number in a screenshot, a phone number displayed in an image, an address on a digital flyer, recipe ingredients from a cooking video, or some text in a photo that I want to search or send to someone. These aren’t tasks that justify installing a dedicated OCR app or PDF editor, or setting up a complicated workflow.

In such cases, simply use the shortcut, select the text, and move on.

Working with archived documents

Older documents are often stored as scans or images, which means the text may not be selectable even though it is perfectly readable.

When I need a particular name, date, reference number, or passage from one of these documents, there is no need to convert the entire archive into searchable PDFs. Just use the OCR shortcut on the relevant page and extract the required section.

When I don’t want to install another tool

Another practical advantage is that you can use the OCR capability as part of your existing Windows workflow rather than reaching for a separate OCR website or application.

For a one-off extraction, opening another service feels daunting. It requires you to upload the image, wait for it to process, copy the result, and potentially deal with formatting. With the shortcut, the text is already on my screen, so I can work with it immediately.

What I like about Windows’ text extraction

It is already there: There’s nothing new to install just to extract a few words from a screenshot. The feature is built into the Snipping Tool on supported versions of Windows 11.

Faster than finding the original source: When working with text inside an image, I ask myself whether I actually need the original webpage to get all the information. If you only need the text, extracting it is often faster.

It changed what I consider “copyable”: This is probably the biggest difference. We all think that only the text highlighted by the mouse pointer is copyable. Now my definition is that I can extract any text on the screen.

Limitations you should know about

I don’t want to oversell this. Win + Shift + T is useful, but it isn’t magic.

It uses OCR, and the recognizer can make mistakes. If the text is blurry, tiny, distorted, heavily stylized, or set against a complex background, the extracted result might need some cleanup.

I’ve also learned not to blindly trust extracted text when accuracy really matters.

For example, you should always double-check:

URLs

Email addresses

Code

Product or serial numbers

Technical terms

Numbers

Long strings of characters

One wrong character can completely change the meaning.

Moreover, it works with rectangular selections, so you can’t precisely outline text while excluding nearby icons, graphics, or other on-screen elements. If those elements are close to the text you’re trying to capture, the OCR may pick up extra characters or information.

In such instances, the simplest way out is to modify the selection and attempt it once more. If the unwanted text is only a few characters, I simply remove them after pasting the result into a document. It’s a small extra step, but still quicker than typing the entire selection manually.

Other Windows Clipboard shortcuts I use daily

Once I started paying more attention to Windows keyboard shortcuts, I realized that Win + Shift + T isn’t the only one that makes working with text easier.

These are the ones I use most.

Ctrl + C — Copy: The classic. Select something and press Ctrl + C to copy it. I still use this far more often than Win + Shift + T. The difference is that Ctrl + C requires selectable content.

Ctrl + V — Paste: Still indispensable. Once I’ve extracted text, Ctrl + V is usually how I get it where it needs to go.

Win + V — Clipboard History: It opens the Windows Clipboard History, letting you access items you’ve recently copied instead of being limited to just what you copied last. To enable it, go to Settings > System > Clipboard and toggle on Clipboard history. You can also sync your clipboard with other devices for continuity.

Win + Shift + S — Snipping Tool: I use Win + Shift + S when I actually want a screenshot or screen recording. The toolbar also offers a Quick markup tool to annotate screenshots and a Color picker tool to copy the color value from your screen.

Grab text from your screen quickly!

The Windows OCR shortcut is a small feature that can make everyday work noticeably easier. Whether I’m copying text, grabbing information from screenshots, or switching between different pieces of content, it saves time and reduces unnecessary retyping.

After weeks of anticipation and leaks, the Fortnite x Sonic The Hedgehog collab for Fortnite’s Chapter 7 Season 4 has been confirmed via the latter franchise’s official social media accounts. The forthcoming season, titled Fortnite Override, is scheduled to roll out on August 20, 2026.

For a considerable time, video game collabs have been expected to feature heavily in the new Fortnite season. With the official tease coming from Sega, at least one such partnership has now been set in stone. Apart from fresh gaming content coming to Fortnite, hacking has also been expected to arrive and play a key role after the mid-month update.

Fortnite x Sonic The Hedgehog: Teaser breakdown

On August 10, Sega uploaded a teaser video that gave fans a glimpse of Sonic in a map location inspired by Green Hill. The clip shows the blue hedgehog sprinting on a hooped track, collecting the iconic gold rings synonymous with the long-running Sega-owned franchise.

There is also a shot of Fortnite character Peely sprinting similarly, which could be a hint at a Sonic The Hedgehog-themed item that grants super speed. Further, certain eagle-eyed fans also spotted how the clouds shown in the video resemble Tetris blocks, adding to the speculation of a collab with the namesake game franchise.

Notably, the first few seconds of the clip show a terminal screen with a cascade of commands. This, coupled with the title of the video, which says “HACKING Now”, is yet another strong indicator of hacking being incorporated as an aspect of Fortnite Override. On the online game’s Discord, an entire channel is dedicated to something called “Lobby Hack codes”, the purpose of which should become clearer when the forthcoming update drops.

All rumored content in Fortnite x Sonic The Hedgehog

Over the past few weeks, a bunch of Fortnite game collabs were reported to be in the pipeline. Given that Fortnite Override is shaping up as a season that significantly focuses on video game characters and locations, it is reasonable to think these leaked partnerships are slated to release as part of the new seasonal content. The following games and items are among those expected to land, per popular leakers such as Shiina, HYPEX, and FireMonkey.

1. Sonic The Hedgehog skin

Fortnite Override will also retain a fan-favorite feature

While the gaming-themed updates and additions in Fortnite Override certainly offer something to be excited about for Fortnite fans, that is not where the stream of new content ends. More specifically, it has been confirmed by Epic Games that Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 will also feature its own set of sprites.

However, that doesn’t mean you will be able to use your existing collection of sprites for playing matches in the next season. That’s because those will be restricted to a new island called Sprite Garden, preventing them from being used in other modes such as Battle Royale. Instead, you will be able to catch new sprites and use them in Fortnite Override.

Given the sheer variety of sprites in Fortnite’s ongoing season, the forthcoming one undoubtedly offers great promise. While fan-made sprites such as the ammunition-granting Bullet Sprite have already been confirmed to launch next season, others made by Fortnite devs can be expected to refresh the lineup throughout the season, similar to how it is right now.

Apple Pay could finally make its debut in India by late September or October 2026, nearly a decade after Apple first indicated plans to bring its digital payments service to the country. However, the reported launch is expected to initially focus on credit cards rather than India’s dominant Unified Payments Interface (UPI) network.

According to a Business Standard report, Apple is preparing to introduce Apple Pay with support for cards issued on global payment networks such as Visa and Mastercard. The service would allow eligible users to add supported cards to Apple Wallet and make contactless payments using an iPhone or Apple Watch at NFC-enabled point-of-sale terminals.

Apple Pay India launch may not include UPI

As we covered in an earlier report, one of the biggest limitations at launch could be the absence of UPI support.

Apple would reportedly need approval from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and a partnership with a sponsor bank to enable UPI transactions through Apple Pay. As a result, the initial rollout is expected to focus primarily on card-based payments.

This could make Apple Pay particularly appealing to India’s premium credit card users, especially those already using iPhones and Apple Watches for everyday tasks. However, the lack of UPI integration could limit its broader appeal among consumers who rely heavily on UPI apps for daily payments.

Banks seek lower fees ahead of Apple Pay launch

Apple is also reportedly negotiating transaction economics with major Indian card issuers ahead of the potential launch.

Sources cited by Business Standard claim Apple has been seeking around 15 to 20 basis points from the interchange fee generated on each credit card transaction. Some banks, however, are reportedly pushing for a lower rate of approximately 10 basis points.

The fee would reportedly be paid by card-issuing banks rather than being charged directly to customers or merchants.

Despite those negotiations, Apple Pay’s arrival could give India’s credit card ecosystem another growth catalyst. Pine Labs CEO Amrish Rau has said he expects Apple Pay to enter India before the end of 2026 and suggested that offering consumers a broader range of payment options could help drive further growth in credit card transactions.

Apple’s RBI compliance could pave the way for Apple Pay

The potential Apple Pay launch comes as Apple strengthens its payments and services presence in the Indian market.

In July, the company reportedly restored credit and debit card payment options for Indian users purchasing apps, subscriptions, and services such as iCloud. Apple had removed card-based payments several years earlier following changes to India’s recurring payment regulations.

The restoration followed Apple’s implementation of India’s card tokenization requirements. Under the regulatory framework, businesses cannot retain customers’ actual card numbers for recurring transactions. Instead, payments rely on unique tokens generated by authorized card networks.

Tokenized payment information must also comply with India’s local data storage requirements, helping Apple align its payment infrastructure with regulations set by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

A long-awaited payment option may finally reach India

Apple Pay’s reported India launch could therefore mark another significant step in Apple’s efforts to expand its payments ecosystem in one of the world’s fastest-growing digital payments markets.

Apple Pay is already available across more than 90 markets globally, making India a notable omission given the country’s growing iPhone user base and rapidly expanding digital payments ecosystem.

However, Apple has not officially confirmed the India launch timeline, participating banks, supported cards, or whether UPI integration will eventually follow. Those details could still change before the service becomes available.

Would you use Apple Pay for payments in India even if it launches without UPI support? Let us know in the comments below.
The post Apple Pay may finally launch in India this October appeared first on iGeeksBlog.
