Electric cars are designed and coming out in the market already. Some also come in hybrid mechanism and all of these kinds of vehicles carry the intention of saving the environment as its produce less if not zero emission. Another eco transportation means is designed and this time around, it is an electric bicycle concept called the HMK 561 and is designed by Ralf Kittmann. The HMK 561’s carbon fiber construction serves as the electricity conduction and capacitor that stores energy thus allows the bike’s frames to transmit power and allows the lights and motors to move. What is nicer with this bikes is that, it gains energy by converting mechanical energy into electrical energy, thus the engine and light will turn on.

Sooner or later, parking and carbon emission will never be a problem anymore. With the numerous eco-friendly car concepts we have today, air pollution and parking spaces will never be a problem if they come into fruition. One of the great concepts we have right now is Smart Cities’ City Car electric automobile. This battery-electric powered car has the ability to provide weather protection, climate control and comfort, secure storage, and crash protection, thus meet a person’s need for an enclosed personal mobility. The City Car has the mileage like of a 150 to 200 miles per gallon of gasoline but use a battery-electric, thus produces zero emission.

Caring for our environment does not end with recycling things, using less energy and produce less to zero carbon, and more. Caring for our environment also means caring for the animals around us like our pets particularly the endangered ones. The NeatNests is an eco-friendly birdhouse that will not only take care of our environment but our precious birds as well. Green features of this stylish birdhouse include the scrap materials used in creating the entire birdhouse. In addition, the NeatNests can also be flatpacked for easy and comfortable transportation. Upon purchase, this eco-friendly bird house requires a little assembly and looks stylish for your landscape as well.

Being always on time requires you to have a functional clock. The PaperPulp Clock by Chris Kown and Ramon Middelkoop will not only keep you on time and allows you to not waste your time but will also help you save the earth. The PaperPulp Clock is made of recycled paper pulp forms making it not only a nice looking and functional clock but also an eco-friendly one. In addition, the production process of the clock requires a little amount of energy and uses the sun power to dry the pulp. Another green feature of this one of a kind clock is its being recyclable at the end of its useful life by having it recycled.

With the aim to make our homes as green as possible, we tend to chose those homes with designs that allows natural sunlight to come-in to minimize the use of energy for lighting purposes during daytime, which is achievable with large windows. However, collecting sunlight and transforming it into a useful electricity is another form of saving energy and the environment. Today, designers from Peer+ come up with an innovative concept that combines normal lighting from sunlight and collecting solar energy through its eco-friendly product called Smart Energy Glass because the glass does the incorporation of a normal window and a solar panel.

From Design Affairs Studio:
Information processes in nowadays society are accelerating more and more. The desire to quickly withdraw from this continuously flowing stream and relax for a short while is becoming ever stronger. Today people are expected to be available permanently. Therefore many would like to consciously step out of the stream of information at certain times.

Overstimulation in public space can nevertheless be contained: our concept to do that is called ecocoon. Incoming acoustic stimuli are eliminated on purpose while signals of the body will be emphasized, if desired. By choice, high, middle or low frequencies may be filtered out of the environmental noise. The user might even completely shut off all background noise: in this mode ecocoon makes audible to the bearer his own pulse and breathing. Focus is led from the outside to the inside. Successively slowed down respiration and pulse-beating make it possible to calm down and temporarily retreat into a kind of virtual cocoon to be “offline” for a while.

Green architecture continues to get innovative and the Strata as the first skyscraper to have a built-in wind turbine is just one of the proofs that architects are dedicated enough in helping save the environment. The Strata is a latest addition to the London’s skyline and strikes many eyes with its three built-in wind turbine that produces 8% of the structure’s energy needs. All of the three wind turbines are incorporated on the Strata’s façade and is made possible via a tricky engineering by the Brookfield Europe. The 148-meters long tower has 42 stories and is designed to make use f the Venturi effect produces by nearby structures in order to force wind through the turbines. The wind turbines are expected to produce 50MWh of electricity per year.
