I’m planning on opening the shows on tour this Summer with it and it’ll also go on the work in progress album. I’ll post the lyrics up in the next couple of days before people start hassling me!

In my opinion the song is pretty electronicy, with a mix of screaming and singing, and a kinda hardcore bit at the end which should be fun to rock out to live. Listen to it and see what you think though – I love to hear opinions!

Obviously this stuff isn’t for everyone; some dudes don’t like electronica, others don’t like singing whilst some aren’t into screaming – hell some guys just want breakdowns in every track! There’s so many awesome bands out there that I’m not even going to try and compete – I’m just doing what I do, I don’t think there’s a whole lot like it, and I hope you guys enjoy it!

In terms of the album there’s a whole load of sounds getting recorded at the moment. Some of the tunes will be a bit like this, some even more electronic with loads of screamo, some that are barely electro and pretty much tech metal and some that I don’t even know what they are! It’s not going to be finished anytime in the immediate future but rest assured it’s on its way and you will be the first to know!

I thought it was about time I got my act together and made my whole operation a little bit more professional.

So, introducing my new myspace layout complete with all new pics from my photoshoot with my buddy Keith (highly recommended by the way).

Also, I’m booking up a tour for this Summer, starting on the 18th of July, if you book shows, know someone who does or are in a band that wants to play a show hit me up.

I’ve put a rough schedule on the myspace but really the only date we can’t do is the 27th of July as Torquay is already confirmed.

I’ve also made a youtube video, also on the myspace, which may or may not become part of ‘IHCTV’ – although currently I hate the sound of my own voice a bit too much.

Been a little while since my last post, as usual things have been busy!

Obviously fairly hectic in University land right now, but also on the recording front, with album material well underway. Regarding my split with ‘King Of Thieves‘ I’m still very much up for doing it, I just need to decide what tunes go on the album and what goes to the split.

Also, I felt compelled to blog following my feature in the ‘Low Slung Podcast‘.

If you’ve not heard of it (I hadn’t) the podcast claims to be a collection of ‘the best unsigned bands and new music’. Either way, it seems to have a fair few listeners.

Speaking of podcasts I shall soon be launching my own, which will be available through ihaveclones.com and itunes, free of course. I’m going to play copyright music mostly until someone tells me to stop. If labels have a problem with me giving their artists exposure they’re idiots.

Also, I’m redesigning the myspace and working on ‘IHCTV’ which will mostly involve me talking and playing guitar in front of my computer then putting it on Youtube. Exciting huh?

I know I’ve got a backlog of emails/messages/comments to wade through, so bear with me, I do appreciate it!

On a side note, if you do happen to review/play/do something involving I Have Clones drop me an email and I”ll try and feature it here.

I’ve made a drum n’bass/screamo remix of Dance Gavin Dance’s song ‘Alex English’.

If you don’t know Dance Gavin Dance you can check them out here. In fact if you don’t know the song it’s probably best to check the original out before listening to mine – it may be a tad confusing otherwise!

Basically I used some of the clean guitar from the intro and also a clean part later in the song that features vocals as well.

Lyrically I used parts of the original and screamed them myself, not that they are particularly understandable, but the lyrics themselves are here, should you be interested.

Also, being drum n’bass it’d probably sound a whole lot better if you play it through something that can play bass, eg. a sub or something. Laptop speakers don’t cut it I’m afriad!

It’s a year ago today that I wrote my very first song, ‘New Years Eve’.

A lot has happened since then; I released a free two track sampler, created a myspace, facebook, twitter, blog and a website. Some people liked it, and then some more.

A few months later I took my brain on an upgrade and embraced the world of free music and thus wrote, recorded and released my EP (?!) ‘Music 2.0’. Since then I’ve played a few shows, sold a whole bunch of t-shirts and built relationships with people all across the world.

What’s next?

I’m working on releasing a split EP with ‘King Of Thieves’ – they’re from NY, pretty new, but I hope you’ll agree, very exciting. With any luck this could be out as soon as Jan/Feb.

I’m also working on an album, very much in the early stages of conception, but hopefully I can get it out at least in the first half of 2009.

Regarding shows, I appreciate people saying please can you play X town in X county (particularly Kentucky, US at the moment for some reason?) however the fact remains that at the moment I have yet to play outside of my current residence, Birmingham, UK!

This is a problem I’m working to fix, not least because all the promoters here suck – take my last show being double booked for example, but and also the kids who like music here are mostly lame, and don’t like shows. N00bs.

Festive update.

I’ve began writing an album – exciting, huh? I think The first track will be an acoustic one, which might mix things up a bit. Other than that, I’ll keep things under wraps for now.

I’m also working on doing a split EP with these guys; ‘King Of Thieves‘. I like their style, particularly track 2. Hoping to get this out very early next year.

I know I haven’t got back to a bunch of messages, I’ll get on that after tomorrow is over and done with!

If you order a shirt any time around now don’t be pissed if it takes a while longer to come. Post Office is shut and postmen are slow. Maybe I’ll chuck in something for the wait.
