Each year the <a href="http://www.thetrain.com/special-events/the-polar-express/">Grand Canyon Railway</a> is transformed into the Polar Express. Riding on the Polar Express is a popular winter activity for many
Arizona families. In our family, while our kids are little and aren't requesting expensive electronics for Christmas, we keep Christmas day simple and like to spend more of our holiday budget on family activities. We enjoyed our family trip to the North Pole via the Polar Express two winters ago when my girls were ages 6 and 3. It was a magical time. But sometimes the amount of magic depends on how prepared you are as a parent. Was this a perfect trip? Nope. Two adults, four little girls is not always a blissful experience. But, our trip was made better because we took the time to gather tips from other family members who had previously gone. This is not a sponsored post. who has a husband, two rescued cats, three fish that won't die, two sets of fraternal girl
twins and a foster son who we have been privileged to raise for the last four months. I'm writing through the lens of having a long term foster placement who is still an infant. I write my
random thoughts from time to time to bring a little more clarity into my life.<br>

Recently, I took three of my boys to Glendale to visit their Westgate <a href="http://www.asyouwishpottery.com/" target="_blank">As You Wish</a> location. We got invited to be there to make pottery while Fox 10 was filming a segment. My two-year-old got to stay with Grandma. Since this was an hour drive for us coming from the other side of the Valley, we made an outing of it and had some fun visiting a couple of other places while we were in Glendale. a Utah native, one of the things I miss most during the fall are the
spectacular fall leaves in rich hues of red, gold, yellow, and orange. At some point I figured out that fall colors are just a short drive away. Northern Arizona can compete very nicely with the best of this country's fall vistas.
