Hermès remains of those maison French still retain much of its original essence, the touch and the joy which they decided to start his career in the fashion world and, despite the passage of time and that must be updated daily in creative lines and how to design, the spirit continues to permeate each and every one of his outfits.

Under the man in L'Essentiel , Veronique Nichanian presented a collection forFall-Winter 2012/2013 palettes painted with very dark, straight lines and broad at the top as well as more tailored trouser and accessories, which plays with the military style and the French dandies and presented together as a collection versatile and easy to combine with many possibilities. Hermès in its purest essence, as always.

Clearly, the skins will be a very strong next year during the winter. And from all skins, we were especially with the crocodile and the lizard, which seems that all firms have joined this new trend.

His cracked, the game textures, exotic touch that adds to the garment ... captivated them so that now not only include it on jackets and blazers of the season ...

... but pants, accessories and shoes are increasingly likely to join it.

The leather is another of the great contributions of Hermès. We found in all kinds of outfits, from raincoats three quarters of tight cuts, shaped silhouette and buckle closure, giving the set even more underground and military air ...

... up loose pieces such as pants and blazers, to prove a point or combined with denim for a greater contrast in the shapes and textures (not in the palette that always moves in blacks, grays and browns)

or a total look in leather suit like this consists of two pieces and shirt in the same tone and the same material. A profile less baggy and cooler that can gets much play if we combine with the item or items such as wool.

The velvet is another of the great queens of the party as far as evening outfits are concerned. His bright iridescent, smooth texture ... all this makes it forms chosen to soften and loosen clothing and some sets.

It can be found in shades of red, dark blue or green and generally preferred for garments for senior events.

Finally, and to break up the monotony a little color and rigid forms of leather, introduces some oriental-inspired prints and somewhat abstract in their cardigans ...

... and in their shirts. A more striking, breaking the rules of sobriety leather and gives point and the clothes and the whole in general, a greater dynamism and personality.

A collection of contrasts, no doubt. Lanvin's new proposal for the season Fall-Winter 2012/2013 is a blend of classicism and modernity in the form of suits, double-breasted coats large cuts, proposals with printed stripes and casual urban style on most of their seasonal outfits suck this style, more specifically inBudapest.

Alber Elbaz and Lucas Ossendrijver decided to start the parade with a recital of piano and techno music with the graffiti on the wall that gave access to the tentLanvin developed and the sign of contradiction reign in his collection. And indeed it was: the current, practical man dressed in Lanvin.

We begin with the proposals for coats. The trenches three quarters with large lapels and buttoned cross cover has been one of the must in the Autumn-Winter 2012/2013. The colors chosen were various: from camels and earth to encompass the other parts ...

... as blue and black cloth fabric and shorter lengths. Cuts loose on top, with emphasis on the shoulders and lapels but prefer to adjust the silhouette at the bottom to contrast the figure.

The skins are still one of the great revelations of the season. Although Lanvin was eat and more in use, can be found on the lapels and finish coats as sheep or mutton ...

... and full proposals to the skin. These include the influence of jockey style in many of his outfits became evident in accessories like hats, or cutting shapes and pants.

The patchwork leather is also seen in the collection and especially in shelters and trenches. Cloth is preferred over the point for these cases.

The urban and futuristic style contrasted with the classical forms of theirblazers and jackets are forced to the maximum in the après ski footwear collection with at least one of their models.

Finally, with regard to prints Lanvin opened her hand more than his contemporaries did. We leave the sobriety of plain styles to introduce tartan prints and stripes on shirts and ...

... which rely to inject some more color in electric hues and color breaking sobriety that usually prevails in the rest of the set.

Camel, blue, gray, white and eggplant along with some orange, mustard and red, but mostly a lot of black.

High and wide pants, low-waisted, tight and all sorts of ways they get an easy to combine collection and modern for a man who does not aspire to, but stepped on a red carpet walk in the day to day in the city .

Dior Homme Fall-Winter 2012/2013 Menswear- Paris Fashion Week

We continue with the Paris Fashion Week, that very day ends his last day. During these days, we have shown the best shows of Fashion Week in the city of light and today it's the turn of Dior Homme, firm whose creative director Kris Van Assche also presented the signature collection bears his name. He came to the firm in 2008 after Hedi Slimane, and leads to success all these seasons.

Before an audience among which were the designer, also called Kaiser, Karl Lagerfeld, or the great photographer Ali Mahdavi, among others, Dior Homme collection brought a large military air, strong and striking silhouettes with inspiration sober and rigorous . The colors could not be other than the greens, blacks and beiges. At times, there have been departures in white.

Figures and sober silhouettes, as we mentioned above. The color black has been the protagonist in the first stage where we have seen many three-piece suits and long coats. Also wanted to innovate with a new silhouette with baggy pants. Personally, I am not a follower of this type of pants, I stay with more traditional and straight we've seen during the runway.

So if I run the fashion show, and applaud from here, with structured jackets, mixing fabrics and colors. Almost always going to come combined with a belt, which stylize the silhouette and offer a touch of innovation among many classic garments.

Moreover, in the middle of this mix of fabrics usually incorporated jackets and coats, has its place padding in silver tone that I really won. Tuned because we have seen in several collections for next season Fall-Winter 2012/2013, padding in upper garments.

Amid this military trend could not miss a star like garment parka, this time accompanying suits for cold or rainy days. Every man should have a parka in your closet, in a basic insurance returning season after season.

If we said before we should be attentive to the padding, one of the key trends for next season is the layers. From the waist to the knees, the range is very wide so you should know already what would you choose and sign for the coming winter. It is a garment that women generally have been wearing, but I think the designers'proposals come with a very masculine perfectly wearable.

The only print of the collection has been about the world of birds and we have seen so much in pants, jackets and coats. I like them because they are striking and are giving back a touch of difference on black looks.

Finally, the add-star is the baseball cap with a high altitude. I say a resounding no to this combination. But yes to leather handbags, gloves and glasses (made to order, preferably non-mirror).

In general the collection at first left me cold, as I have seen have been analyzing the good work patterns and the little things and while not my favorite if I have to acknowledge that he has had a good level. What do you think?

Actually, we are debating whether the guy above is the same as this hunky Thai male model named Chaiwat Thongsaeng. We go back and forth whether its the same man. What do you think? Anyway, here are some photos of Chaiwat modeling an underwear brand called MIG or M-I-G. We don't know if this is a Thai brand or an international one.

Intoducing Hotel Muse Bangkok, a new M Gallery hotel opened just last November by the Accor Hotel Group.

Located in the high end district of Langsuan road (think Singapore's Paterson Road), Hotel Muse is along a cosy street lined with high end condos and offices, just minutes walk to the bustling Ratchaprasong junction where Chidlom BTS station, Erawan Shrine and Luxury Malls (Gaysorn Plaza and Erawan Bangkok (where Club 21 Thailand's homebase is!)) are nearby. As you stepped thru the huge wooden doors into the Hotel lobby, you are immediately transported into the era of King Rama V, where east meets west, amidst the contemporary and period decor. In place of the conventional reception desk, Guest relation officers are seated in the intimate lobby to assist with the check it, bringing a new level of personal touch.

Rooms are well decked out in the romance of 19th century era, most commendable are the details in the exquisite bathrooms. The sink features beautiful porcelain-like patterns unseen in other hotels which catches your eye as soon as you enter. Intricate etchings adorn the mirrors, lizard embossed leather trays hold the amenities, contributing to an old world charm of luxury. With such fine details, the bathroom is simply befitting a prince or princess:-)

Modern technological creature comforts are also at your disposal... from high speed wifi connections, a huge interactive LCD TV and in-room iPod docking station (iHome IP90 player which I got one for myself after I get back to Singapore:-P), getting out of your room can prove to be a challenge:-) More so when you have tried the ultra comfortable pillow top bed which 'literally' makes you float. It's so comfortable, somedays, I just refuse to get out of bed:-)

Hotel Muse Bangkok houses a number of F&B options the likes of Thai Restaurant, Su Tha Ros and Medici which serves highly commended Italian. The Speakeasy at the top level lets you chill to groovy beats and cocktails with a view to match... a venue so chic, it even welcomed electronica music guru Claude Challe to spin his tunes just days before the new years.

Be sure to check out this unique property should you be bound for Bangkok anytime soon. I know I'd be sure to stay there again for my next visit!:-)

IWC Big Pilot Top Gun Watches For 2012 Hands-On

Hey mister? You want a big watch that is easy to read? Well do I have something for you! The iconic classic aviator watch look is one that IWC has been more than successfully perpetuating for quite some time. They probably do it the best, and at the least they are the best at selling it. It is an classic look that feels great on the wrist as was originally developed for optimal legibility and ease of operation. What more could you want from a timepiece?

As you'll be hearing over the year, 2012 is the year of the Pilot watch for IWC. At SIHH 2012 their booth was pretty amazing by most standards. It didn't have much to do with watches, but the spectacle really pulled you into the world that IWC was trying to create for the new Pilot watch collection. IWC CEO George Kern is actually quite clever in having each year focus on one watch. That allows the brand to fully tailor their theme and message around the concept to get retailers, journalists, and buyers as excited as possible on what they want to promote. If they released a series of new nice watches from different collections it would dilute from the image they are trying to further.

There are actually a lot of new Pilot watches and several in the Top Gun range that has done well for IWC over the years. For watch lovers, the biggest news is that all new Big Pilot watches will contain in-house made IWC mechanical automatic movements. Previous Top Gun models for instance housed based ETA Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph movements. The move to fully in-house made should up the value proposition for most people and is sure to enhance already high excitement around the collection.

As it was in the past, all IWC Big Pilot Top Gun watches will come in ceramic cases. There is a matte black case for standard Top Gun models and a polished dark gray case for the retro looking Top Gun Miramar line. Included in this article is one or two images of steel cased watches that show the slightly updated non-Top Gun IWC Big Pilot. While more or less visually unchanged for 2012, the new IWC Big Pilot watch benefits from mechanical and structural upgrades to made it better than ever. One important move was a serious upgrade in the crown and stem system to make it more durable.

The Top Gun collection is large. Perhaps too large for some. Not me, but for you it may be the case that the diameter of the case doesn't feel right. You really need to try it on. Don't get me wrong, I don't have massive wrists - not in the least. I just like look of a large watch. The Big Pilot Top Gun watches are between 46 and 48mm wide. Oddly enough the chronograph models are smaller at 46mm while there rest (including the time-only) models are bigger. That is an interesting move at it is usually the other way around.

Watch detailing is as always impressive. IWC far and away makes the best pilot watch hands anywhere. The trick is contrast. The detailing is crisp and the hands perfectly pop off the dials to create a strong, legible look. Others try to duplicate this, but I've never seen anyone do it quite as well as IWC. The three hand watches use the outgoing IWC made caliber 51111 automatic movement with that super long 7 day power reserve. The handy power reserve on the dial helps keep the look interesting as well. This is one of the 48mm wide watches and comes in both standard Top Gun and Top Gun Miramar styles.

The standard Top Gun uses a matte black ceramic case with a titanium caseback and large crown. The same goes for the chronograph version. Depending on the model there is a Top Gun logo engraved into the caseback or offered as a colored print under a protective sapphire crystal. It looks cool either way. Most people claim to not care about the Top Gun collaboration but I promise you it adds just a nice little icing to this sweet cake.

At 48mm wide it sits nice and big on the wrist. Why else do you think they call it the "Big Pilot?" The Miramar version has a polished gray ceramic case and dial with different colors and a little bit of a different style. It has has a green canvas style strap. If there is anything that you can say about IWC it is that a lot of attention goes into their dials and straps (or bracelets).

Most people will like the subtle Top Gun branding on the watches. There is no mention of it on the dial or case sides. The old model I believe has some type of Top Gun logo on the side of the case. Only the rear of the watch talks of the Top Gun connection. While the steel Big Pilot watches look excellent, ceramic is a great material. It is very hard and will wear gracefully as it is very scratch resistant. For the most part these should be really durable watches in terms of looking good for a long time.

One person said something interesting to me about how they didn't like the metal crown and pushers as matched to the ceramic case. They felt the ceramic look was incomplete. I see their point but it doesn't bother me. The truth is IWC really can't do that. Machining ceramic is a pain in the ass, and the technology doesn't yet exist for tiny ceramic pieces with intricate details like crowns and pushers to be made in any cost effective manner. As it stands these watches use grade 5 titanium for the crowns, pushers, and casebacks.

At the top of the new IWC Big Pilot Top Gun collection is the Perpetual Calendar. It uses IWC's outgoing great perpetual calendar automatic movement with a seven day power reserve. In the cool ceramic case with bold dial, this is a killer timepiece. The chronograph models uses IWC's new 89365 automatic movement that measures up to 60 minutes. IWC opted for a two versus three dial look on the watches. Though three register chronographs are available in the non Top Gun Big Pilot line.

The overall new IWC Top Gun collection of Big Pilot watches is impressive, highly wearable, and going to be quite popular when they start shipping. I am not sure about pricing but they will be in the ballpark of what IWC's Big Pilot and chronograph watches currently cost. [ WATCH ]

 Catching up with a little more from Milan Fashion Week we bring you an insight into the preview of Hogan's Autumn/Winter 2012 collection that had a general focus on brushed and distressed leather. A far cry from a lot of the sharp styling we've been seeing, Hogan has gone for the more "lived-in look" for this collection. Nubuck, suede and sheepskin are the choice fabrics that offer casually understated pieces in the brand's typically contemporary style.

 Said to be inspired by "the universe of Francis Scott Fitzgerald" and visually the "world of American sport-chic" the collection is all about laid-back elegance. This is definitely something A La Mále can get on board with during the less than laid-back Winter months and those fantastic leather jackets a la Steve McQueen will also go down very nicely. How unfair that our Winter isn't even over yet and we can't get a hold of all this for another 6 months . . .

 Before fitting in a bit of Spring/Summer and the Paris Fashion Week round-up A La Mále wanted to share the last from the Milan period. These brands made the cut for some incredible styles that they're offering for A/W 12. First up is Bally who presented a collection full of classic pieces with a twist. Trench coats with detachable sections, distressed patterns and semi-quilted pieces caught our eyes here. Leather hold-alls, coats and then pleated trousers were the most traditional items that offered a balance. The shearling and leather boots were the must-have item here.

 Givenchy by Ricardo Tisci offers a much more contemporary take on street-wear with leather skinnies, boxy fit coats and even alpine-print knits. An unusual combination of pieces in classic colours but modern fits was a key aspect of the collection - take the simple grey suit with carrot-fit trousers. In true Givenchy style this was an edgy collection suitable for those fashion-forward street urchins.

 Jonathan Saunders also have a somewhat different offering for A/W 12 with their colourful and patternful pieces featuring some very sharp tailoring contrasted again with boxy fit outerwear. This is certainly something quite refreshing for the Winter season with statement pieces galore. A La Mále has a particular fondness for the multi-tonal wool blazers again paired with slim pleated trousers. Contrast sleeves on jackets remain popular too this season but we especially love the navy and chocolate example here.

 Finally Marni gives us more colours and patterns with foliage print shirts teamed with super-cool velvet ties. Real autumnal shades are present in this collection with mustard yellow and burgundy, reminiscent of the season's changing colours. Plunging v-neck sweaters and shawl collars were present and again that contemporary boxier fit was apparent in the outerwear with contrasting lapels. Definitely a quirky one to end with before we round up some more A/W 12 in the next few days . . .

 Quick little streetwear round up for the guys here with select brands who are either established, new or simply worth a mention. A La Mále discovered Eleven Paris last year and have since been quite taken with their style, which is all about effortlessly cool pieces with a particular attention to detail. For S/S 12 it's all very laid back with relaxed fits, nods to nautical and jersey pieces. We love the midnight-blue biker jacket and pinstripe bottoms with contrasting hem.

 More heritage influence now with Ellesse Heritage - but of course it's sportswear so a far cry from the elbow patches and tweed. This collection with its typical 90s style pieces paired with more classic jackets and tops makes for a great offering for S/S 12. The zip-up track tops a la Damon Albarn have rested enough to make a little comeback and A La Mále's loving it. If not for the day then you at least have some great pieces for the gym - which obviously you've been attending since making that New Year's resolution.

 One of A La Mále's favourite brands now, Energie, have kept it pretty classic this year with their collection. It's all about relaxed fit tees and casual jackets with straight-leg bottoms for the guy on the go this Summer. We love the statement red as well as the shorts that merely tease the knee - so it's a little more comfortable and a little less "Call On Me". Casual tailoring doesn't smarten things up but it does add to that laid back yet hedonistic attitude that Energie always seems to exude.

 Nickelson are essentially the one-stop brand for all your contrast-pocket tee needs. We're not really sure why nearly every t-shirt you see these days comes with a defined pocket and Nickelson dare to take it to the next level with their contrasting sleeves. What will we think of next? These are great tops for the Summer though again with a relaxed fit that touches on the nautical trend and keeps the top half interesting.

 For the skaters now, Volcom has a slightly more colourful offering for Summer with splashes of green and blue as you can see from a polo, shirt and printed tee. The geometric polo is a great piece that can even be smartened up with a sharp black blazer - think outside the box. Fisherman style parkas are still popular for S/S 12 and Volcom's understated khaki offering certainly does the job and balances the other colourful pieces . . .

 Since we're on streetwear we may as well continue to share some great brands with you and next up is Junk De Luxe, a Danish menswear label. A La Mále had to include this brand for their new collection of laid back pieces with the added option of sharp tailoring - a blend synonymous to the label. Again they touch on the nautical trend with striped pieces, navy fabrics and a variety of casual shorts. 

 Denim shorts are great when worn properly and we suggest opting for a look not unlike the one featured above. If you're going to show knee - hide those arms. Similar rules apply for women - chest vs legs and it's all about balance! The relaxed fits work perfectly well for the season but you can add a touch of rock'n'roll with a fine black suit for those extra effort evenings. We really think it's time for Summer now . . .

Monotone hues and sleek sophisticated garments are the basis for the latest Hugo by Hugo Boss spring/summer 2012 campaign.

The brand enlisted the help of top models Sean O'Pry and Freja Beha Erichsen to promote the range, whilst photographer Alexei Hay was chosen to capture the essence of the Hugo by Hugo Boss man.

The campaign features classic, well cut tailored garments which look effortlessly chic due to minimal styling and almost no accessories – allowing the range to really speak for itself. By shooting the whole campaign in black and white, it ensures that the focus remains on the clothing, with emphasis being placed on fit rather than use of colour and patterns.

The new collection is centred around timeless pieces that will have you looking sleek and refined season after season. However, these classic styles have all been given a contemporary twist via unconventional detailing or fabric choices. For example, the key 'must have' pieces for us here at the FashionBeans offices are without a doubt the gorgeous double breasted blazer (two buttons instead of 4-6), bomber jacket (perforated material) and Derby shoes (complete with contrasting coloured soled).

We can't deny that this campaign is one of our favourites we've seen so far this year. The combination of the black and white photography and an almost vintage Rockabilly styling have come together wonderfully, to produce a elegant campaign that sees Sean O'Pry resembling an old Hollywood film star.

How to Wear: Blazer Pocket

The natural home for any pocket square is in the breast pocket of your blazer or suit jacket. It finishes off the uniform of the modern gent with aplomb and brings with it a touch of sartorial excellence.

If your line of work is one that requires the wearing of a suit, a pocket square shows that you've taken that extra bit of care in your appearance and that you're ready for business. For work, try not to get too bold with your pocket square, unless you own the place in which case feel free to exhibit a bit of panache with your pocket.

A blue or navy suit is a great go-to and also opens up a world of possibilities to play with pocket squares. Pale pink can be a little daring but exhibits confidence and is not overtly flashy – perfect for the office. A navy tie works well with the pink and the subdued blue of the suit, again sticking to the conservative side of things.

Finally finish off with some bold polka-dot socks and some classy brown lace-ups.

A pocket square should never be confided to the office. Work a blazer into your casual wardrobe and make use of your pocket squares on the weekend. Tweed is a great choice for an off-duty blazer and gives you an opportunity to mix up textures.

Layer a tweed blazer over an on-trend navy roll neck and pair with some classic stone chinos. Finish off your look with some suede boots and accessorise with a red print pocket square and a flat cap for that extra bit of country chap.

Another piece of outwear that can benefit from a dash of panache in the breast pocket is the wool overcoat. Acamel overcoat is right on-trend and it would be rude not to take advantage of a spare pocket with your own stamp of individuality.

Nautical Meets Heritage

Classics for Spring

 With another high street contender - and one of A La Mále's favourite brands - Massimo Dutti have yet another rich offering for their SS12collection. We've put together a couple of style ideas for you, the first of which blends two of the most popular styles of the time together -nautical and heritage. But don't worry we haven't gone overkill on the whole thing - a striped top and elbow patch blazer will suffice when accessorized perfectly. 

 Add a splash of colour to this look with a statement green scarf that goes surprisingly well with washed blue chinos - another dose of colour. Straw hats are going to be as popular as they were last year so if you haven't already invested for the Summer then opt for the fairly understated example pictured above. A La Mále suggests that the blazer and the hat are in a "one or the other" situation - especially with sherbet green around the neck.

 Our second look is a lot more classic and comes with that all-importanttrench coat. We've opted for a stylish black number - something a little less delicate than a beige option. You may have noticed that shawl collar cardigans are also everywhere at the moment but what you should know is that they always look best with a shirt to smarten it up a bit. Cardigansare a staple piece for Spring, especially in Britain when the weather doesn't know what the hell it's doing at times . . .

 Another fantastic label for menswear, Ted Baker presented their S/S 12 collection to a crowd of fashion lovers and fashion press earlier last week. Both menswear and womenswear collections were particularly strong and they really epitomised the feeling of Summer with florals, bright colours and patterns teamed with more traditional looks and classic accessories. The runway show was held at The Dairy - a refurbished factory where the milk bottle was first invented. 

 The menswear was rich with colour as can be seen in stripes pictured above and we were also treated to floral shirts formalised with fitted blazers as well as check patterns and some fantastic accessories. Schoolboy/professor satchels were popular with options in tan [pictured above] as well as navy and olive green. Bursts of orange were apparent throughout the collection - the colour for 2012. The tailoring was generally quite fitted, super sharp and also more classic so as to compliment the myriad of patterns found in shirts and tees. 

 A La Mále have also decided to include some of the women's accessories from the show to give you guys some gift ideas well in advance. Only a month left till Valentines day!
