Hip Hop Research, a new blog from Clyde Smith devoted to documenting academic studies of hip hop, has reached 51 titles with more on the way. Entries feature the book's cover art, when available, and basic links to WorldCat, a world library search engine, as well as options from Amazon and Google for checking out the book's content. The long term goal is to use this book list as a basis for an annotated bibligraphy of academic studies of hip hop but it's pretty cool just to see what researchers have already accomplished in this area of study. Contestants should adhere precisely to the iconic "Single Ladies" dance routine performed by Beyonce and her two dancers in the original clip - no new choreography should be added. The grand prize winner of Beyonce's "Single Ladies" dance video contest will receive $2500.00 (US) and have the winning video shown during Beyonce's "I Am..." World Tour 2009.
