Project #1: The Book of Other People

Firstly, I’m baffled by the overwhelming response. Didn’t know there’s so many of you who are interested in these kinda things. I’m gonna plan more random BUT oh-so-fun stuff! Haha..

Anywho, as you all know - I’m currently reading The Book of Other People (more information on that in the next post, I promise). To be honest, I was just being random about the whole thing. I wanted to see how many short stories I can compile.

Here’s what you need to do:

The idea is simple. Make somebody up. Each story should be about a character you created. It can be a he/she/it. Anything goes. Don’t restrict yourself.

Since it’s a ~~really~~ short story, the limit is 1 page (Word Doc). Don’t worry about what type of font, font size, paragraphing etc. Just write.

Get it done by:

Next Monday. 6th September 2010. By 9pm please.

What’s this for:

Nothing.

I wanted to compile a collection of ~~really~~ short stories. I was really moved by what Zadie Smith did with The Book of Other People - it’s almost fitting to recreate the idea.

What do I get from this:

Each writer will get a copy of the compilation of short stories. That’s awesome, no?

I’m still thinking of what to do next. Will definitely keep everyone posted. I’m also open to ideas.
