Late last year I got taken on a little bit of a whirlwind trip up to the Hunter Valley with the lovely folks Events In The Vines and Splendid Days. We had two days of absolutely scrumptious food and shooting in possibly the most beautiful sunlight known to man. A little bit of all that wonderful work is featured today in the first issue of a rather delightful online magazine called Fete Press. I hope you enjoy the photos and I absolutely cannot wait to share some more goodness. <3

I just had to pop a few extras in, it was truly a gorgeous day.

On Film {An Exhibition}

A step. A jump. A leap.

Each journey begins with a step outside your comfort zone and this one certainly is a huge leap for me and something rather close to my heart and this post is long overdue.I struggle to find the words to express what I want to say a lot of the time until it comes out in one big heap, like an explosion of thought, and so it is the same with this. I’ve always wanted to be a part of an exhibition, to showcase work that means something to me and hopefully to others and that’s exactly what I get to do next Tuesday at the Salerno Gallery in Glebe.

I, along with Tony Peri, Jeff Leaming & Jack Chauval will be exhibiting a series of images all shot on film. I’m nervously excited for the night and I can’t wait to see it all come together.

Goodbye 2011 {Hello 2012}

As I get older the years seem to fly by at increasing speeds. I don’t know whether that’s just a part of growing older or a part of starting a small business, but whatever it is, I’d prefer them to slow down just a little bit. If this is the pace at which they’re going now, I shudder to think of the blur they will be in a five or even ten years time. I’m the type of person that just looks to what’s next, that I rarely stop to look at all the things that have happened.This combined with the speediness of the past year and I don’t feel like I’ve had a chance to reflect on all that has happened. That’s actually one of my 2012 New Year’s resolutions, to stop, enjoy and reflect on everything that’s happening.

It wasn’t until I sat down at my computer looking through the images from the last year that I was struck by an overwhelming sense of warmth. To be surrounded by so many amazing couples, such wonderful friends & family and so much love on a weekly basis… I didn’t realise how amazingly fortunate I was and I’m so grateful to have gotten to know each and every one of you in the last year and I’m so excited for the amazingness that 2012 will bring.

The images below are a collection of images that represent the warmth of 2011 and tell the story of the year that was. Thank you all for your love, your support and your friendship.

One of my favourite things is seeing how people interact, I love watching the little moments when people think you’re not paying attention. Moments of sweetness and tenderness that show a lot more than saying anything. Michelle & Adrian are the sweetest couple that I could gush for hours about, but instead I’ll leave you with some photos form the lovely afternoon I got to spend with them.

kristin & steven {married} sydney wedding photography

Kristin & Steven are that awesome couple that everyone wants to be friends with. They’re a little bit funky, super easy to get a long with and thoughtful beyond words; I may have shed a tear (or two) when Steven thanked me during his speech.

Their day was full of little moments of kindness, sweetness, some incredible light and a heck of a lot of partying. These are some of my favourite moments from their day. Kristin & Steven thank you so much for trusting me with the memories from your day and thank you for being your awesome selves.
