He’s going to join the Wiggles

My toddler discovered the Wiggles. He actually started watching them last year, but now he likes to dance to their songs.

His favorite Wiggles is Jeff, who sleeps a lot. I think this is my son’s impersonation of Jeff:

For whom the bell tolls

Our kids were playing with a bell last month when our youngest daughter hitted the bell so hard that she broke the bell mallet. The wooden rod split in two and mommy had to hot-glue it back together. It was pretty funny when the bell mallet broke, but the incident is also a reflection of our youngest daughter’s personality. She does not have a gentle mode.

The snow was weak and pathetic

Getting ready to throw a snowball at me

A couple of weeks ago, we had our first snow in almost a year. It snowed three out of four days, but we didn’t get much and it wasn’t cold enough for the snow to stick for long. As my youngest daughter likes to say, it was weak and pathetic. Not sure why, but my little girl tells me I’m weak and pathetic all the time. Where did she even hear that expression? She’s only six.

Happy Chinese New Year, everyone! It’s the year of the dragon. My oldest child was born in the year of the dragon — back in 2000 (I can’t believe she’s eleven already).

He has a dream, I just don’t know what it is

It was Martin Luther King, Jr. day yesterday. As most of us know, Martin Luther King had a dream about racial equality. It was an awesome dream. It still is. My son also has a dream. It doesn’t come close to impacting our world like King’s dream, but I like to think my son’s dreams are just as awesome. I wonder what he dreams of when he goes to sleep. What do you think he dreams of?

Can you tell who didn’t like their Christmas present? The youngest child didn’t care what he got because opening a Christmas present is a new experience for him. My youngest daughter, on the other hand, wasn’t exactly happy with the guitar I made her. She’s spoiled. Who wouldn’t be happy with a guitar made out of cardboard and rubber bands?
