Stacee and Stephen got married at Logan Shoals Vista Point, which is one of my favorite places to take photographs.  It has awesome views of Lake Tahoe, lots of nooks and crannies, trails, boulders and trees which lend themselves to perfect compositional backdrops for weddings and portraits!

Here are some of my favorites from their wedding:

After the ceremony was over, we headed a half mile down the street to the Ski Run Marina and Riva Grill for some more photos with the lake in the background.

Franck and Nicole made a very cute couple and it was a pleasure to work with them!

Then came the day of the wedding.  They got married at Edgewood Tahoe, which is one of the best places for weddings in Lake Tahoe.  The day was beautiful and it was awesome to see everyone again!  You can see some of the photos from the wedding here.

Once the wedding was completed it was time to build the album.  This was a collaborative effort between Ashlee and me, and I had a ball with this album!

Sometimes we go in the studio, and sometimes we do an environmental portrait outdoors.  Either way it is a fun time for the family, and also a fun time for me!

Amy called and said she wanted to have a family portrait done, and after discussing what kind of look she wanted, we decided to do the session in the studio.  We had a great time trying different poses  and when they came back in the studio to view the projected proofs, they selected 5 images for retouching and printing into photographs for gifts for the holidays.

These three are my favorites…I especially like the big family group, with Dad Scott holding the toy!

Matt and Meggie got married at Meeks Bay.  They had a beautiful tent set up for their reception, I’d not ever seen one like it, it had a clear roof.  It got a bit warm during the day under the tent, but the reception didn’t really begin until nearer to sunset, and the clear roof of the tent made for a wonderful ambiance as the sun set.  The ceremony was set up to take place out on a bluff, overlooking the entire lake.  The entire venue was just gorgeous!

The ceremony proceeded smoothly, as did the beginning of the reception, all very well coordinated by Sue Novasel of Tahoe Dream Events.  She was very organized, with instructions for each vendor, outdoor heaters set up and the place beautifully decorated.  It was near the end of a delicious dinner that the heavens decided to open up, driving everyone to huddle underneath the tent.  The tent housed the dance floor, DJ station, cake table and a few tables, so it was a pretty big tent and while it was cozy with all those people there, the bride and groom seemed to enjoy it all!  Dustin’s mom Carrie shared with us (me and the video man, Howard Coleman, Distinctive Video) that it rained at her wedding too, and they were celebrating 33 years of marriage!

After being able to get to know Valerie and Dustin for their engagement session (see the engagement photos here) it was a pleasure and an honor to photograph their wedding!

We didn’t choose that particular venue but are ecstatic that we saw her album there that day as she was “The One” for us!”
