Are you stuck in the same situation as mine?

I am your Friend, Anuj Sharma. If you know me, its maybe because I added you in my Friend's list on Facebook and bam we became friends. If you don't know me, that's okay too, after all how can one sane person know all of other 7 billion people?

Like other 1.3 Million students, I too gave my +2(12th) exams this year and waiting for the results. So before results I am having four months of break. Four months is not peanuts, its a lot of time for things to happen and make them happen. But then the story of life continues which is Eat, Sleep, Use gadgets and Repeat.

Are you in the same situation like this?

For the sake of humanity or atleast time, we both are doing WRONG. Why? Because time wasted never comes back and I pretty damn sure that later me and you, we both will cry that why didn't we learnt something useful in those fucking four months?!

Things that I can and need to learn are:
1. Learn to drive motorbike
2. Learn programming languages like C and Java which I will be taught in the college
3. Work back on the hobbies I left in the past because I didn't had time for them
And so on..

But, have I started yet?
No Signs of progress? :(

Square and Multiply Numbers Quickly

Multiplying and squaring numbers is a key component while dong many kind of numerical and mathematics' questions. Not only mathematics but even Chemistry and Physics also use it. We all now this thing by class 6th but the method that we are told is not always the best and most efficient one. When it comes to higher classes, using these old classical methods kills a lot of time and you know the value of time in examinations. So I want to share with you the cool methods I have found to be working quite awesome which increase your calculation speed and also save a lot of time. Let us start, today for you I have one fast method of squaring two, or maybe even three digit numbers, iff you can and a method to multiply two 2 digit numbers easily within seconds.

Squaring 2+ Digit Numbers Easily

Without any theoritical shit, lets get to practice so that you can understand this method more easily.

Let us square, say 36. Here is how it works explained step wise:

Break the number in two parts. The first part is 3 and 6. One thing to remember, if the number is of more than 2 digits, say 336 then you have to break it such that first part is 33 and the other is 6. So the point is that break it as taking last digit alone and the rest in another group.
Now that you have made two groups, the next step is to square them separately. Here the first number is 3 and the other is 6. We know 3^2 = 9 and 6^2 = 36.
The next step is to glue the results. So let us glue'em. We got 936.
The next step is to multiply the numbers themselves by 20. Here the groups are 3 and 6. so 3x6x20=360.
Now all you have to do is add the number you got in step 4 with the number you got in step 3
So. (36)^2= 936+360=1296

Similarly, square of three digit numbers can be checked out be repetitive application of the above method. All you need to remember is to make the groups correctly. Take last digit alone and the rest left to it as separate group.

Remember: In step 2, if the last digit has its square less than 10, then take it on prefixing 0 with it. For eg. if the number is 32, then you have to take 904 and not 94 in step 3. Similarly for 1 and 3's square.

Bonus: For digits ending with 5

If the digit of which you want to know square ends with 5, then you are the luckiest person in the world. Its so easy that you might end up laughing after knowing the method. Steps as mentioned below:

Take a number ending with 5. Say 35. Now to square it again break it into two parts. The first part here is 3 and the other is 5.
Multiply the first part with its consecutive number. So 3x4=12
Suffix result with 25. 12(Apply Fevicol Here)25
The result is 1225 and so is the square of 35.

For three or more digit numbers, say 125, then take 12 as first group and 5 as another. Now multiply 12 with its consecutive and then glue it with 25. So, 12x13=156. Now 156(Fevicol)25 = 15625

Quick Multiplication Trick for 2 Two Digit Numbers

Now coming to multiplication part. We all know how vital and necessary is multiplication. But time consuming too. It is not always the case when we will be asked to square numbers, mostly multiplication is needed. But don't worry, there is a method for that too.

Let us multiply two numbers AB and XY where AB and XY represent two 2 digit numbers and not A multiply B.

Write the numbers as usual
AB
XY
Firstly multiply the second column. If the result is 24, then write 4 at last and take two as remainder.
Now cross multiply as follows: A x Y + X x B and add the remainder. For instance if the value of A x Y + X x B comes out to be 36, then add remainder, which is 2 so we get 38.
Now write 8 and suffix 4 which we got in step 2. and take 3 as remainder. So we get 84
Now multiply the terms of first column and then add the latest remainder to them. For example if A x X comes out to be 12 then add 3. So we have 15. Now glue it to 84 and the result will be in-front of you. Here it is 1584 as the result

Example: Multiply 32 and 64 with above method.

Write in standard form for your convenience.

Now the product of second column is 8 and AY + XB is 24. So we take 2 as carry
The product of first column is 18, and after adding the carried number, we get 20
Now glue 20 4 8 and the result is 2048

Note: If you get more than 2 digit number as a product of columns or cross multiply then remove last digit and take the remaining part as remainder. For Eg, if you get 124 in step AY + XB then take 12 as remainder and write four on its place. In a nutshell, you have to write only the last digit simultaneously and keep carrying the remainder until last step.
