While Lingzhi is native to China, it is now cultivated widely throughout the world because of its medicinal properties and increased consumption as a herbal health supplement. Research suggest that Ganoderma Lucidum has been a major part of Chinese medicines for more than 4000 years now, and has been primarily used for the alleviation of fatigue, asthma, liver disorders and to promote longevity.

Oleic acid and cyclooctasulfur, two important constituent of organic Reishi mushroom have been known to inhibit the release of histamine in the blood, which may prove beneficial for patients suffering from asthma and other allergies.
Alkaloids (consisting of nitrogen) and adenosine in Ganoderma Lucidum may assist with dilation of the blood vessels, thereby allowing more blood, oxygen and nutrients to get around the body. This may further result in reduction in blood pressure, rapid healing and greater energy levels.
