Unfortunately, I had no other choice but Millwall, because on the weekends I had some other scheduled events that the International Relations Office had prepared for the exchange students, and both QPR and Fulham were having away games at Leeds and Norwich city during the weekdays. So I went to see Millwall not knowing much about its notoriety, only to find your startled look when I told you that I had chosen Millwall...
(Only very recently have I read about the derby going on between Palace and Millwall, and the twisted views that the supporters have of each other.)

Nonetheless, my trip to Millwall was indeed the most memorable excursion during my stay in London, and it sure couldn't have been done without your insightful description of Premier League and Championship football! I really wish I could have visited more clubs. My schedule was too early for the league... I will definitely visit Selhurst Park, Craven Cottage, and Loftus Road if I get to visit London again!

Thank you again Seungho! So happy that you spent such a worthwhile summer here, and excited that you're continuing to work with the group (mainly through the supervision of Dr Hungry Elder) now that you're back home.

And just to clarify, in case some of the readers wonder whether I routinely send our young visiting students to watch Millwall; my suggestion was just to say that Seungho ought to go to a "Championship" (second-division) match instead of the Premier League, where all the tourists go. (Palace is different of course, but we were sold out already.) I had said that either Fulham or QPR, both not far from here, would be great places to go, with proper old-fashioned stadiums set amongst terraced houses. Only after Seungho had been to see the match did I realise that he had chosen Millwall. I'm glad you had a good time there—it does sound as if it was quite the experience! Football as it should be. It is of course a lovely club, but I will probably continue to recommend the more local non-Premier League grounds (or Palace) when visiting students ask me about watching football....

First of all, I'm really glad that everyone seems to like my blog post.

I guess in my university we don't even have coffee/tea-drinking culture like in England or anywhere else in the world, let alone our own mug at school. Of course there are some coffee-drinkers who would individually buy their coffee from a nearby cafe, but not everyone does so. Instead, many grad students here like to play PC games (like StarCraft) for a bit after lunch.

I don't like hot beverages in general (I'm close to what Japanese people call Nekojita, or cat's tongue), so I prefer drinking iced coffee/tea. I really like lukewarm matcha with milk though. I didn't drink coffee in England but I drank a lot of pints, so I'm happy enough!

Speaking of mugs, I do own a really cool mug with 1998 Super-K plots drawn on it, but I never use it... I should have brought it to England and bragged about it to everyone!

PS. I had no idea that Santander cycles were called "Boris" bikes. I thought Boris was another bike company when I first saw the name.

I am actually very much a tea drinker myself, but at the office I just take the easy route and go to our George Clooney machine, or gratefully receive the artisanal brew from one of the machines in the student office.

At home, I like to sit down and make myself a nice strong pot of Royal Blend and have a cup next to me all the time while working, with plenty of milk.....

My observation when coming back to England after many years spent at foreign physics groups was the high fraction of people here who don't have their own mug, but just use polystyrene.... To me an academic group was all about people wandering about the corridors with their individual mugs in hand, with the logos of the labs where their experiments are, alma mater emblems, Maxwell's Equations, Dilbert....

In my experience coffee is preferred in EPP departments across England, and only once have I worked somewhere where it was even close.

Hi Seungho, so good to hear from you—the T2K offices feel a lot quieter now the summer students are gone. As someone who also loves coming in to work on a "Boris" bike, I know exactly how you feel (although I come over from the other end of Hyde Park), and find it hilarious that you thought that Santander was a bike company!

I have to say, I've never experienced anything quite like that! It was a lot of fun, though, and I am very glad to have been a part of it! (And I can say that after spending three hours in the boat, shouting over the "sonic booms" until I was nearly hoarse!)

I've even had requests from friends back in the States to ask Nelly to go on tour with the installation and bring it there!

Particle physics is warming up, and challenging the pico/femtostructural horizon of research-relevant quantum effects and relativistic factors. Nanophysics progress depends on data density, while the key equation is the atomic topological function for modeling electrons, photons, enrgy fields and force fields.

Recent advancements in quantum science have produced the picoyoctometric, 3D, interactive video atomic model imaging function, in terms of chronons and spacons for exact, quantized, relativistic animation. This format returns clear numerical data for a full spectrum of variables. There were generous amounts of Zybrowka (pronounced shoo-BROOF-ka) at the banquet. This is a traditional Polish vodka flavored with grass that Euro bison like, so it's often called bison vodka. In any case, it's really really good stuff and I split the better part of our table's bottle with our T2K colleague Roman Tacik. The only downside was that my first lecture started at 8:45 the next morning. I am happy to report I was there early... but the same cannot be said of all the students! The youth today jut don't know how easy they have it.
