Predictive Mind Reading Suggestion? That’s Not Funny, Apple Watch! 😄 - IMRAN®

imran@imran.com (Imran Anwar) — Tue, 06 Oct 2026 00:43:04 +0000

Predictive Mind Reading Suggestion? That’s Not Funny, Apple Watch! 😄 - IMRAN® I wanted to take my German Shepherd, K2, for a quick drive as I was going to CVS. He is in the back seat but you can’t see him. I have NOT had Taco Bell in two weeks. I had thought about it this evening. Apparently, Apple Watch now reads minds too. I stepped to the car door and the watch vibrated. I looked and had to take a picture before the predictive suggestion notification fully disappeared. “Taco Bell 10 Minutes Drive.” It became a random sunset selfie too. No. I didn’t go there. I picked up some Japanese, instead. Take that, Apple Intelligence. 😄 © 2026 IMRAN® #IMRAN #humor #ArtificialIntelligence #FastFood #Apple

Wonder Why I Can’t Sleep - IMRAN®

Wonder Why I Can’t Sleep - IMRAN® A working light dinner at Veloce in the Bowery in Manhattan, New York was heavy on sugar and caffeine. The low-key but not low-calorie fares were ok, but this was a sugar/high/note. No wonder I couldn’t sleep even after being awake nearly 30 hours. 😳😄 © 2026 IMRAN® #IMRAN #NewYork #Manhattan #foodie #HappyEndings

33 Years In-Flight, “Happy Endings” Has Landed! - IMRAN®

imran@imran.com (Imran Anwar) — Sun, 20 Sep 2026 08:41:41 +0000

33 Years In-Flight, “Happy Endings” Has Landed! - IMRAN® I learned to fly in 2000. Seven years earlier, in Manhattan, in1993, the first flight plan — well, idea — for a novel took off. I’ve been in media, financial services, technology — now AI and agentic AI — all my life. All those flight paths beautifully converged in a 33-year journey that finally became a finished novel. Happy Endings is a techno-thriller and intercontinental love story set in Manhattan in September 2026 (literally next week). Underneath it all, it is also a love letter to New York City, aviation, and flying. I finally completed it this summer, 33 years after that first idea took flight. Published by Quantum Lair, the eBook 🛬 landed on Amazon today. 😊 The paperback and hardcover follow on September 21. The audiobook comes later this year, with broader bookstore and library distribution to follow. The title soundtrack to the screenplay is already on music steaming platforms. If you enjoy the book, I’d be very grateful if you shared the Amazon link with friends or your networks. After reading it, if you choose to leave an honest review, that would mean a great deal. Mostly, after carrying this story around for 33 years, I’d simply love to have others enjoy reading it as much as I’ve loved writing it. Blue Skies! Happy Endings/Landings! 😊 © 2026 IMRAN® #IMRAN #literature #books #writing #HappyEndings #novels #reading Quantum Lair™

Walking / Stick / Figures – IMRAN®

Dead old vines that once sapped the life out of now‑deader trees twist into walking/stick/figures suspended high above me in the backyard of my Long Island, New York property in late summer. Their contorted shapes look frozen mid‑stride, as if nature paused a strange parade overhead.

Amazon Is Crushing It. Literally — IMRAN®

Amazon Is Crushing It. Literally — IMRAN®

I’m all in favor of saving costs and packing materials. And Amazon is crushing it. Literally. Unfortunately, not in a good way.

Surely it doesn’t require a rocket‑science degree to know this: Don’t shove big, heavy, toxic carpet‑cleaning chemicals into the same flimsy pouch as a box of cereal and other food items in the name of sustainability.

The cereal’s crunchy clusters were pulverized. The jar was dented — though at least its lid didn’t pop off from the impacts the edible items received from the chemical containers.

Amazon didn’t just deliver the order… it delivered a demolition demo.

Pleasantly Petrifying Photography! — IMRAN®

Pleasantly Petrifying Photography! — IMRAN®

My beloved late father gave me my first camera — a Diana — when I was seven, growing up in Pakistan. That’s how I began shooting black‑and‑white 35mm film. Agfa‑Gevaert is a name I still recall, followed later by Ilford and others, with Kodak and then Fujifilm as I ventured into color photography a few years later. Soon color became my only medium. Then came digital, from the very day the Apple QuickTake became available.

I barely find time to post even a fraction of my 100,000 color photos, let alone convert images to monochrome. Some photographers choose black and white as their primary medium. For me, certain themes simply gain mystery and drama when stripped of color. Fallen trees, rock formations, even portraits of old, wrinkled faces take on an ironically ageless quality sans chromatic distraction.

This dead tree on my Long Island, New York property already looks mysterious in color — you’ll see that when I post it later. But in monochrome it takes on a truly, pun intended, petrifying presence. Almost like a movie fable talking head emerging from a tree trunk.

The detail becomes even more interesting when zoomed in to any area for detail. There are dozens of zoomed crops I can imagine posting out of just this picture to illustrate the point.

Are you into B/W?
