Flaunting My CAPE..

Hello people!! A new week is here and so is the new story. Also this time, IN MY CLOTHES is in its new avatar. The IMC team has been working on it from quite sometime now, and finally the new look to the blog is out.

I am relaxing in my comforter, sipping coffee and enjoying the rain drops pouring down my window pane while writing today’s post for you guys. Such an amazing feeling it is, as past few days have been really hectic. On the last weekend my latest Indian Bridal Couture collection “KALASIRIS” was on a preview in The LALIT, Chandigarh. We had an amazing response and it was over whelming to even have so many of my blog followers visit me during the preview.

In today’s prose, I wear or I can say FLAUNT a leopard print cape in Hot Pink, pairing it up with ruche crop top in black and a black high wait trouser. The cape is made in satin silk, with the torso made of unstitched alternate black and pink straps. Flaunting it while walking keeps my LEO characteristics intact. HAHA!! Adding a contrasting fabric to the crop top, I chose to make it out of Chantilly Lace and the trousers are made in cotton, blended with spandex and trimmed with pink top stitches and a metal zipper at the back.

To complete the look I wore my LOUIS VUITTON aviators, blue sued t-strap platforms from ALDO and a black leather bag from ZARA.

I kept the make up and hair casual keeping the high street wear look intact. Dark eyes, pink lips and black nails, is my easiest and favourite pick for any street look.

Hey everyone. Life of a designer is not always easy. And for me, as I started my own label at an early stage, life has always been challenging ever since. There are times, though, when it seems like all the things have lined up and will go smooth. The past three months, since I started my Blog have been such, when no day has passed without anything new and challenging to do. This week my label completed three years and my blog three months. The journey has been exciting so far and has opened so many new paths for me to walk on.

And Yes, the tale from Himachal continues.. Another shoot on the trip, and this time it was supposed to be in the woods. Another Crinoline dress, with A-line box pleated bottom, and a fitted torso, in the flora print, from my own label “Shruti S” was to be styled and shot. I wore my high heels from “Steve Madden”, a dangler in my right ear, kept the makeup and hair natural, with deep-pink lips and nails.

Crinolines are meant for women who want to and are confident about flaunting their curves. It's just about the apt cut and fit.

The look was casual and perfect and I was all set to give my shots at that particular spot where I was supposed to stand and pose. But no. Sandeep wasn’t sure of the lighting and he made me walk in heels, or I should say made me travel through the woods to look for the perfect spot. I was so afraid, coz I could stumble any moment. But he is so stubborn when it comes to choosing the location and spot, so we continued to walk. “Shruti, attempt 2. I think the light is good here, give me some good shots now”. I kept on posing on the rhythm of the camera clicks. Further, Sandeep made me go deeper and deeper into the woods to get more shots. Attempt 3 and attempt 4 at other two spots, which seemed almost same to me. But I did manage to give convincing shots. All content, we finally made our way back to our cottages where we stayed.

The Royal...The Blue...

How's everyone doing? It's been great hearing from so many of you this week. The appreciation and love that our efforts are receiving from all of you, feels beyond awesome. I know I wrote to many of you that this time's story would be about the travel during my Himachal trip, but I am going to save that for later and share my new look, which I couldn't wait to reveal. I will be putting up the Himachal stories in the upcoming posts.

My love for fringes is now evident in my hair style too. As a trait of a true Leo female, I just love styling up my hair and can spend hours and hours in the salon meddling and styling them up with the help of my hairdresser.

Today's post is about the constructed Egyptian look dress made in summer silk. Whenever we talk about Egypt, we are reminded of the Pyramids, Pharos, the gold embellishments, elaborate neckpieces, the fringed hairstyles of the queens and last but never the least, the glamorous cuts and slits that their attires had. So this dress that I have designed is made in the Royal colour “BLUE”, and has an elaborate overlap in the front which is a convertible slit.

Coincidently, my fringed haircut gelled perfectly well with the ensemble. To complete the look of this One-shoulder constructed overlap Blue dress, I put on a Royal blue and Gold costume necklace that I got custom made for myself. I wore a deep blue smokey eye-makeup with cat-eye winged liner. Nude lips, nude heels and Royal blue nail art completed the look.

Summer vacations are on the verge of ending and people will be returning home from their holiday trips. So will the partying and night gatherings begin. Today's look is perfect for occasions like cocktails, dinners, formal clubs, etc.

Tom-Boyish MEE!! -Fringes, Rips, Tassels..

How’s everyone? It's simply a coincidence, I guess. Past few days, the weather has been so hot that the mercury touched 44 degree celsius. But today when I was about to share my post on Day 2 of my Himachal trip, about how heavily it rained there and that it totally messed my hair, urgh!!!, we had beautiful rain showers even in Chandigarh! As Chandigarh is situated in the Laps of the mountains, one can easily relive the memories of Himachal in such an amazing weather.

Day 2 started with loads of enthusiasm to explore and have fun, but with no plans to work or shoot (trust me, all the shoot u see in this prose is totally random and was not planned at all). The day was sunny, to start with and I chose to wear my super-favourite Ombre, Fringed , linen cropped-jacket, from my own label “Shruti S”, paired up with a crocheted flared top again from Shruti S, and ripped denim pants by “ZARA” . I love fringes in every form. So I created this all season jacket in linen-slug fabric which can be paired up with so many attires.

As we had to explore the place, my styling was very tom-boyish. And to keep the look intact, I picked up a tasseled sued belt from “ZARA”, my mouse-grey sued Bag full of Fringes by “ALDO”, that I carried on the entire trip (and it looked amazing in every look), and for the footwear, I picked up my trekking shoes in sued by “WOODLAND”. NO HEELS this time.. “wink!!”

As soon as we trekked over one peak, it started raining and we got soaked badly. It took us 20 minutes to reach the closest shelter. The rainwater was extremely chilling and it messed up our clothes, shoes and hair. Soon after it stopped raining, we all got back onto our track.

The place we chose to visit in Himachal, ain’t very crowded. It's so serene and peaceful with no networks for calls or internet. The population of the natives there was also very less. It's wonderful to go and relax for a few days in a place which isn't crowded, where no one can bother you from work because you are not reachable, and where you are so close to nature that you rejuvenate and come back to life!

Hey guys! How are you? Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. Just to update you on the current state of affairs – I am back home in Chandigarh and right now am having the cosiest home time with parents and my younger brother. Though that doesn’t mean that I’m taking time off blogging. So, I am happy to share a new exciting story for the coming week.

Since I have been back from Himachal, work has kept me so occupied. The piled up tasks are not getting any lesser. But one thing is good for sure, that I somehow managed to segregate the thousand pictures we clicked on our trip, day wise, and here I am, sharing today’s prose about day 1, which started as we depart at 5 a.m. from Chandigarh.

For the journey, (which was as long as 5-6 hours if we go non-stop, but for us turned out to be 8 hours. I am a frolic person and I love stopping by and posing into the camera at every good location on the way. Also, as I am a foodie, I made sure we did not miss out on any good eating joint), I wore a “Flamboyant Back” shirt, in Italian-cotton checks from my own label “Shruti S”, paired up with a “heads and tails” trouser in Cotton, once again from my label “Shruti S”.

To add to the ensemble, I carried my “Louis Vuitton” sun glasses, my metallic strap platforms from “Steve Madden” and a fringed sued bag from “Aldo". I always prefer to tie up my hair into an up-do for long journeys.

As I had mentioned earlier I am not much of a sleepy person, I packed till late night and still was ready sharp at 5 in the morning to leave. It's a beautiful highway from Chandigarh to Shimla. From there the roads start narrowing further more. Sandeep insisted on me driving all the way uphill to our destination. I did drive for a while, but did not want to risk everyone else’s life, LOL!!! , so I handed over the car to the more experienced drivers. wink!!

The journey was fun filled, as we put on old Bollywood songs and sang out from the depth of our throats. Singing “mere Sapno ki rani” on the hills is so cliche, but I bet, no one can miss singing that song out loud, taking their heads out of the sun roof and feel like “Lt. Rajesh Khanna” himself. Stopping by at the dhabas, sipping tea in those glass tumblers, clicking as many pictures as possible, singing and so on gave a kick start to our journey.

I am not thinking straight..

“The woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep” - Robert Frost.

My warm greetings to all of you reading today’s story. In my last blog, I had mentioned about how challenging and thrilling it is for us to bring out something new and unique every time. And as I had promised all of you that I would keep up to these challenges, I start today’s prose with the famous quote by Robert Frost, every word of which truly relates to today's story.

Himachal Pradesh, where every direction turns into a new valley. A different world. The woods, the valleys, the sky, the entire ambience was so spectacular and serene. We travelled a distance of approximately 80 miles up the hills to reach our destination. The beauty of the place left me spellbound and mesmerised.

Coming on to the attire, I was not thinking straight when I designed this ensemble that I am wearing - the “inverted-trouser” top in linen and a “shirt-collared” skirt in tartan checks. The idea was to make something casual and comfortable with an out-of-the-box touch.

I would call this entire look “Back to School in Vogue”. Paired up with black leather dress-shoes from Zara, black Sling bag from Calvin Klein and a boyfriend-shirt in black-n-white ombre from Shruti S, the Shruti S inverted-trouser top and shirt-collared skirt looked very stylish and elegant. And shooting it at this heavenly place was the icing on the cake.

We were approximately 11,000 feet above the sea level. The breeze was so chilling that it seemed as if the snow covered mountains are right next to us. We were to start with the first shoot of the day, but the entire team was so exhausted already due to the long journey. As for me, I am always full of energy (that's what everyone says, coz I can’t sit idle and am always up with something). So I intended for the shoots to be on time as per the plan, as I did not want to miss on the adventure we had planned for the next day (That will be up soon in my forthcoming stories. wink!!!! ).

We were told by the locals that it was about a 5 minutes trek to reach the location. But it turned out that we were no where close to the location even after trekking for about 30 minutes (Please don’t believe people in Himachal when they tell u how much you have to walk to reach a certain place. Maybe they want to encourage you to walk as one might give up already knowing the actual distance! Lol ;) I also feel that walking and trekking up the hills is a part of their living, so distance that might seem a lot to us, is nothing for them). But the wait was worth it. Ah my GOD!! The clear blue sky, pin-drop silence, the snow covered mountains, valley filled with apple orchards, ravens flying, the cold breeze, the butterflies. It's an endless list. Trust me, the surroundings were way too beautiful to describe in words.

I was asked to stand at the peak to pose, I mean literally THE PEAK. One wrong step and I am off the cliff! But to be honest, I wasn’t scared at all. I was rather enjoying every moment of it. Then came the instructions, “Shruti, for a moment please try and forget that you are on the edge of the mountain. Just think that it's a ramp and you’ve gotta walk on it”. The surface was so rocky that I could hardly balance while walking. My eyes were on every step that I was taking. “My dear you have to look into the camera and not at your feet. How many takes you want me to shoot?”. AH!! Sandeep is so bossy at times. Anyhow, after walking and posing on the edge for about 10 times, I could finally balance somehow and deliver some great shots.

The CERULEAN......

Hey everyone. Every week comes with a challenge to draft something new and portray it in a way like never before. It felt really amazing to have calls from so many of you asking me to post the new article soon. I know I am a little late this time in posting my story, but my work had kept me so occupied. Next month my label will complete 3 years and thats when i plan to launch my new Indian couture collection.

Summer is on its peak with temperatures rising up to 43 degrees in the last week. I hate it, when I have to run here and there working in this scorching heat.

By “ THE CERULEAN”, i not only mean the prominent hues of the sky in the dress, but also the way we shot it. The Peplum dress, that i am wearing in this blog, from my label “SHRUTI S”, is made out of polyester crochet. The azure color effect in this crochet peek-a-boo fabric took all my attention. Giving it a prominent cerulean base i created this cocktail peplum dress and paired it up with a cotton, blue and fuschia, dip-dyed jacket.

To complete the look, I paired up my dress with these ever classic eye-wear from “CARTIER”, high-heeled nude strapped wedges from “Steve Madden” and cyan flower studs from “ACCESSORIZE”

Waves in my copper highlighted hair, blue nails, pink lips and bluish smoky eyes, dazzled the look.

To shoot this ensemble we went to “ZODIAC” in chandigarh, which is a revolving restaurant at the attic of “TURQUOISE” hotel. As my dress is named CERULEAN i was very particular that the shots should be in the sky. I am definitely not flying in the pictures (LOL!!), but the way Sandeep shot them, i certainly do not feel down to the earth any more..

I am the NEWS Baby!!!

My Namaste to all.. I couldn’t wait more to unveil this shoot and narrate how it all happened!

Well the title doesn’t mean that I have a news to share, but it's about this newspaper print on the cotton-jute woven shirt that I am wearing in this story. haha :D

Newspapers are an integral part of our everyday lives. No matter how much habitual we become to reading e-news, we still can't imagine our lives without newspapers. They are required for anything and everything you can think of. I still remember a dress I made out of newspaper as an assignment in college. And how we used to learn pattern making on newspapers when we could not afford to buy any more pattern papers because our pocket money was less.

The other day, when I was out, sourcing for my new collection, my eyes laid on this roll of fabric stacked amongst many rolls, which looked like newspaper. I was mesmerised to see how this blend of cotton and jute looked so unique in this print. Right away I knew what I was going to make out of it.

And then this long shirt with an interesting design at the back was crafted. So I went all decked up wearing this long newspaper shirt from my label SHRUTI S, paired it up with a vintage black mini skirt, a black leather bag from ZARA, a black boonie hat by ALDO, metallic strapped velvet platforms from ZARA and a contemporary ring from MANGO.

Sandeep is very particular when it comes to the background of the pictures. He always has a perfect location in mind, which compliments every dress we decide to shoot. On the way to our location, we got stuck in a traffic jam which didn't seem to clear any sooner. Luckily we found a building which was half-constructed and Sandeep had all the frames for the pictures set in his mind already. “Get down from the car Shruti. This is where we are going to shoot this fabulous dress”, he said. As a loyal partner in crime, I obeyed him and we started the shoot.

But in no time, the entire stuck traffic started ogling at us, which included, students in the buses, rikshaw walas, people driving their own cars and even the labour working there. Urghh!!! No matter how much I hated Sandeep at that moment for making me pose in the public, I can never doubt his photography skills and the output that our team effort delivers.

Yet again, we got these superb pictures. Sometimes getting stuck in a traffic jam can be fun! LOL!!

A big Hello to all! How are you guys? I am so overwhelmed by the calls I have been receiving from so many of you praising our efforts for IMC and I felt so much more confident when some of you mentioned how you eagerly wait for my forthcoming stories. It definitely is challenging, but is something that keeps us going..

Chandigarh is heating up a lot under the scorching sun these days. It’s been +34 degrees today and will be the same tomorrow as well. I will try and spend as much time inside in my office as possible.

We shot this piece last week when the temperatures had started to rise and I had to travel via National Highway 1. The best part about this highway is not only the amazing roads, but also the availability of so many fantabulous eating joints. While getting ready in the morning, I was trying to decide upon an outfit, the one that would be very ‘me' - stylish yet comfy. And there, I opened my closet and was color-struck by my latest creation from my label “Shruti S” in Purple.

The Shruti S purple peek-a-boo crochet top, a tube-bustier, printed cotton-lycra pants with a trendy trim at the hem, was an apt choice for a highway summer journey. As u all know about my inclination towards high heels (and i keep mentioning it again, LOL!!), for this particular outfit I wore a pair of ultra-comfy white platformed wedges with metallic straps from “Steve Madden”. I picked up my pale-blue back-pack from “Zara” to carry my stuff in a glammed up way. A turquoise bohemian ring, curled hair, solid-yellow nail art and casual make up completed this street look.

And what more to expect! We were lucky to have no sun in the morning with a refreshing breeze. We stopped over an eating joint just at the outskirts of the city as we roved on the highway towards Delhi.

Sandeep clicked so many beautiful pictures of me that day, that it was damn tough to select a few to share. A beautiful journey and a fun shoot it was!

Wondering what the title is about? Well, today's story is about a horse named “Livestar”, whom i met, made friends with, and spent a lotta time together. But first, my warm greetings to everyone who took out their time reading today’s story. One week has gone by and it seems like yesterday when i shared my last story.

I love animals and spending time with them is the most relaxing thing ever. The other day I casually mentioned to one of my friends that I am scared of horses (coz I have stumbled off them twice when i was a kid) but wanna learn horse riding. Within a few days, he found out a perfect place in the outskirts of Chandigarh where i could learn it.

One fine day, when we could fix up an appointment with the lady running the farm, i thought why not wear my bell-bottomed silk jumpsuit with horses and jockeys printed on it. What could be more apt? So there I went, wearing a white silk-lycra printed bell-bottomed jumpsuit from my label “SHRUTI S”, paired up with sued fringed mouse-grey bag from ALDO, white block-heeled shoes from ASOS and a contemporary vintage ring from MANGO.

To complete the look, I permed by hair, kept my nail art to solid yellow with kohl-ish eyes and red lips.

All decked up in this comfortable yet super stylish jumpsuit, I was introduced to LIVESTAR. He was a beauty with the perfect sinew-ish body and a lustrous ombre brown and black skin. I took him for a walk, made him chew the hay and even talked to him. He seemed to have understood everything I conversed with him. I was so scared of him earlier, but it took me only a while to get over that fright. And by the end of it, I completely fell in love with this beauty. I enjoyed riding him to the core. For the first time in a very long time, I felt so relaxed and relieved. Livestar brought back the liveliness in me and that was when I decided I would go ahead and learn horse-riding on him. I have never felt this much peaceful and joyous while shooting my blog. Yet again, it was a very delightful and memorable experience.

White is CHIC…

Happy Monday! Hope you are enjoying whatever you are doing right now - whether it’s being at work, on the way back home, out with your friends or staying home like me. I am home today because sometimes I want nothing more than to just stay in and be cozy. I had a really manic week, including the weekend, running from one meeting to my manufacturing units to my store and to yet another meeting. Some days, I visited up to ten places back to back. So my feet have politely asked me to take it easy today. I had the most chilled afternoon when I finally started reading the book Hardwired by Meredith Wild. Now I am about to make myself a cup of coffee, write this post and watch a movie. Sounds like a divine plan to me!

As u can guess from the title, today’s post is about a White Formal Sheath Dress which is ultra-chic and classy, from my label SHRUTI S. Made out of a Jacquard fabric with self-motifs, the dress is highlighted with horizontal cuts, that makes it look even more polished and stylish. I wore my Sheath with Deep-blue T-strap peep-toe platform wedges from ALDO. I carried my ever classy BURBERRY sling and wore a mint-green pair of flower studs by ACCESSORIZE.

Light wavy hair, bluish shadow on the eyes, nude lips and deep blue nails went perfectly with the attire.

To shoot this ensemble we went to WHISPERING WILLOWS. The pool side dinner set-up, white wooden furniture, dim lights, flowers, white canopies, mmm!! The ambience was so romantic. As the evening passed by, we were joined by so many couples who were adorably dressed up for their dinner dates. Made me wonder that its only me who is not accompanied by a partner! Ha ha.

Nevertheless I had a wonderful time shooting there - clicking selfies, sipping red wine, relaxing near the pool, followed by an amazing dinner with my photographer friend. xoxo…

All that GLITTERS!!

Hello everybody. Before starting to write today’s blog, I want to thank you all for appreciating our efforts for “IN MY CLOTHES”. It’s a team effort and IMC team isn’t complete without all of you. :-)

Aphrodite is the Greek Goddess of love and beauty, and here I go feeling like one myself in this avatar. *wink*!! So yes, today’s post is about a golden and nude coloured gown from the collection “Aphrodite” of my own label “SHRUTI S”.

This Golden Gown is emphasized by rectangular mirrors and loads of gold work on the yoke. Made in georgette and lined with sequins, the silhouette comprises of both - a constructed top and a beautifully flared bottom. The back of the torso emphasized by cuts, a single shoulder and a slit on the leg, adds to the glamour of the ensemble.

Red pouty lips, red nails, a touch of smoke on the eyes, a tied-up hairdo, no accessories and nude heels, completed the look.

To shoot this spectacular piece, we went up all the way to Ramsheher fort situated at the top of Nalagarh, Himachal Pradesh. It’s a heritage fort converted into a five star resort. The aura there is so awe inspiring - the sun, the breeze, the view, the tourists and more. The spot, which Sandeep (AKA the photographer) chose was almost on the edge of a cliff and the way the wind was blowing, I almost lost my balance. For some set of pictures, the other spot which was chosen had so many tourists, that it made me nervous all the more. It is so tough to give the apt looks into the camera when people around are ogling at you. URGH!!! Thanks to the Almighty I survived that!

It was another amazing experience and every shoot instills more and more confidence in me. I hope u all love this post as well, like all the previous ones.

BATIK is back!!!!!

Hey everyone. How’s the week going? Mine has been hectic as usual. My friends call me a workaholic. No doubt, I just love to work. I cannot sit idle at all. And the best part is that I am my own boss. So when most of the times the boss inside me doesn't let me rest, at times when my friends are around, the same boss is lenient enough to give me a break. (P.S. Now I use that break to shoot for my blog as well… :-))

Getting back to this time's story, it’s about another one of my favourites - red batik shirt from my label Shruti S.

To shoot this one, we went to one the most adorable beauties of nature “Sukhna Lake”. You will not find the lake in any of the pictures though, coz the near about of the lake got our attention so much that we left the lake for next time. Wow, so incredibly green! The trees inside the botanical garden gave an awe inspiring view.

The oversized Batik shirt has a beautiful lacy trim in white in the front. I paired it up with ripped Zara denim shorts and a white Zara bag. As I have always mentioned my fetish for high heels, with this attire I chose to wear my white block-heel shoes from ASOS.

To pep up my look, I tied my hair up into a bun, put on red lipstick, slight kohl in the eyes and kept my nail art to a consolidated red.

I accessorized my ensemble with a couple of silver bracelets and a turquoise bohemian ring. The look turned out to be too casual, yet chic.

The Yellow Tulle..

Hey everyone. Off lately I have been keeping really busy. But I always squeeze out time to socialize and write. Today’s post is about one of my favourites, the yellow tulle dress from my own label “Shruti S”.

Chandigarh is one of the most beautiful cities in India. It’s definitely the cleanest and a very peaceful and serene place. People here believe in being fashionable, so one can carry any style one wants to. A few days back I had a formal meeting over lunch. Well, it gave me a chance to dress up and snap pictures for my post.

So here we go, styling up my tulle dress, made out of silk organza and stained cotton. I paired it up with a lace shrug, again from my own label “Shruti S”. To add to my formal look, I carried my "Burberry" clutch. It’s one thing that I can carry with multiple attires and it looks classy as ever.

Nude laced shoes from "Woods" completed the entire chic and elegant look.

As usual, I curled up my copper highlighted hair, put on natural make up and to highlight the deep front neck, I wore a 3-stringed necklace from "Aldo".

My red nails not only added a tinge of vividness, but also made my "D’damas" gold and diamond ring look glamorous.

My lunch was set in Virgin Courtyard, one of the best Italian cuisine restaurants in Chandigarh. I have been there earlier so I knew that its decor is all white – walls, furniture, floor ... I knew my dress would stand out in that monochromatic setting and will also add a bit more culture to the cuisine itself.

A wonderful lunch, refreshing chitchat and a perfect reason to dress up and get clicked – nothing better to get a break from my hectic schedules.

The Peek-a-Boo Indian jacket..

One fine day, I was asked to shoot my profile for the magazine India Today, Simply Punjabi, to be issued in the month of April. The Cover story was called “Young guns of fashion”. When I got to know that I was going to be a part of it, I was so freaking excited! But when I was asked to glam up my profile, it did not take long for my excitement to turn into nervousness.

I chose to wear a peek-a-boo jacket, truly hand worked with mirrors, gold threads and sequence, from the “BLUE MOON” collection of my label “Shruti S”. A couture piece that can be paired up with n number of garments, like over a skirt, with a saree or a pair of trousers, churidars….. just about anything.

To glam up the entire look, I styled it up with sequinned club-wear shorts, once again hand crafted from my own label “Shruti S” and a navy blue bustier. Voluminous hair, black smoky eyes, brown pouty lips, golden nail art and sexy black platform peep toes. And the entire look turned out to be glamorous.

With all the preparation work in place, finally came the day when I had to showcase it and give the final shots. None of you will believe it, but I am very camera conscious. Camera freaks me out. Seems strange looking at the pictures though. Hah!

In no time, the lights were all set. A traditional black sewing machine was placed as a prop in the backdrop. According to my photographer, it added that “designer touch” and gave a perfect contrast to my ensemble.

After I struggled myself out of the changing room in this glammed up look, the shoot began. Lights on my face, blower blowing away my hair, loud music, flash lights, ohh! it felt like being a celebrity!

The photographer intended for the shots to have an oomph factor, so I was asked to bring that boldness in my poses and expressions. Made me more nervous…..

Being camera friendly is not an easy job indeed! No wonder being a celebrity is hard.

My dear photographer instilled confidence in me and made me deliver such convincing shots.

Ah! It took 3 hours to give these shots, but the final outcome was worth the hard work and patience.

Tie-Dye to Die For...

On a stroll to Leisure Valley with a couple of friends, I wore one of my Maxy gowns in tie-dye from my very own label “Shruti S”. As the scorching summer heat will increase, so will the dullness in the ambience. The summers in Northern India are way too extreme. It’s totally apt to wear whites in comfortable and breathable fabrics.

But for me, pure whites are boring. Thus, when I design, I always lift up the white by adding colors. Like in this dress, I broke the monotony in white with lots of tie-dye. The colors – blue, black, brown and beige complement each other amazingly and also stand out remarkably on this white flared dress.

To add to my Tie-dye dress, I chose a bohemian fringed bag from Aldo in off white color. Trust me; I just loved it as it’s easy to carry and trendy at the same time.

I have a fetish for high heels that it is so hard to resist myself from the varied range of footwear in high heels available out there. I chose to wear my ALDO boots with this tie-dye dress and bohemian fringed bag. The wedge boots make me walk confidently as ever and also keep my casual look intact.

When it comes to jewellery, I always keep it simple. My mantra to look chic is “Never go overboard with jewellery. It’s classic when it is minimal”. I picked up a vintage necklace in black and blue to give it a within-the-dress kind of look.

As much as I loved admiring the beauty of Leisure Valley and had fun posing and getting myself clicked, the best part was when we hampered the lovey-dovey moments of the couples who were out there romancing behind the bushes. LOL!!

Hello Crinoline!!!

From the city beautiful, Chandigarh, i bring out my 1st story.. "Hello Crinoline"..

This year, after a long winter, we finally welcomed the sun.

It was a beautiful sunny morning, when i thought to go shopping to one of the oldest and most beautiful shopping complexes in the city. One of the best places to visit - shop till you drop, flaunt yourself and have a good time.

Before the stores could actually open, i thought why not get myself clicked.

I chose to wear a crinoline, double breasted dress in georgette fabric, with the bias check prints, from my own label SHRUTI S.

My favourite pick to not only protect my face from the direct sunlight, but also enjoy the morning sunshine, was a black boonie hat from ALDO.

Soon enough, people around were interested in gazing at me posing at the camera, rather than their own shopping. Lol!!

Whenever i go out, i can never let go of my sling bag. All my personal belongings are kept safe in this comfy yet stylish bag. So, to complement my crinoline dress, i carried this black bag with a golden chain sling, which gelled well with my hat and my platform wedges from CHARLES & KEITH.

P.S. I love to curl up my hair. I am gifted with bouncy textured hair and i love to keep that natural look by just styling it up a bit. Bluish-grey smoky eyes, almost nude lips and black nails - that completes my Crinoline LOOK.
