Nobody knows how old this game is, but probably it’s even older than Pacman or Asteroids. For some centuries. But why not play this two-person-handgame with more than three gestures? What about 101 gestures instead?

Like Sponge, Community, Noise, Laser or Computer? Over 5000 different outcomes give you only a 0,99% chance of a tie, instead of 33% in the stone age version.

I admit the game is not really easy to learn, but the interactive RPS-101-chart helps a lot and is nice to play with. Thanks to David C. Lovelace from umop.com

USSR Propaganda Posters

Thanks to Ben Perry – an American living in Berlin, Germany, who is hooked with Flickr – you can browse through over 1400 propaganda posters from the Союз Советских Социалистических Республик.
The earlist works are from 1917, (five years before the USSR, to be axact) the latest from 1991. And you do not have to learn Cyrillic: Many of them are translated to English in the commentaries by Ben’s visitors.
One may discuss the ethical dimension of art that gets exploited for political reasons (on both sides of the iron curtain) but there is no doubt that some of these posters are incredible excellent works of graphic art.

Bergmönch - The Mountain Monk

Folding bikes are everywhere around in modern cities. But this bike – the Mountain Monk – solves a completely different problem then slipping around SUVs and outrunning Porsches at the traffic lights.
Imagine having a nice wandering trip in the mountains. Instead of your designer rucksack you carry this bike uphill. It weighs about 9 kg and has enough extra storage for your hearty peak-snack. Once you had your drink you unfold your backpack and change it into a full functioning mountain bike! This prevents meniscus injuries, makes you fast and is a lot of fun.

I hope you are as fascinated by modern Asian popculture as I am these days. I’ve seen the modern Indian superhero-movie Krrish recently and I liked it.
Bollywood has outgrown cheesy and camp ripoffs of Western movies for a long time now but this is exactly where Krrish was nurtured. (Yes, action scenes and CG-FX are not state of the art in ‘Krrish’ – but who cares for those. I like singing and dancing in a superhero movie! A polka-dancing Hugh Jackman would have changed ‘Wolverine’ into a modern classic.)

So enjoy the movie-clip above and dance merrily with the Indian superman (no, not that one) and… ...Spiderwoman?

Children versus Zombies

Imagine you are dead and stroll through your neighbourhood with your buddies. Does the fact that your body is rotting change yourself into a mass of meat without any rights?
Can kids just beat the crap out of you only because you want to devour their brains? Is this humane?

But to be honest: I think this is not a cute prank played on little children. I think this dirty trick has a sadistic dimension and nobody has the right just to scare children this way just for a laugh.
I really do not like this clip – but maybe you do?
