BK veggie burger - Comes with veggie patty, tomato lettuce, pickles. If you'd like more vegetables ask for "Heavy vegetables".
They use the morning star veggie patty.

How to Enable DTMF on Nexus 5 running Android 6 Marshmallow

Unlike the recent phones, there is no separate setting to Enable/Disable DTMF in Nexus 5.
However, if you are facing issue with touch tone dialing, you can find the setting to change under Settings->Accessibility-> "Touch and hold delay". Change to Medium or Long. This fixes the touch tone/dialpad not working during a call. At least it did for me. A small downside is you will need to press the keys longer, but it will work!

Not everyone needs a full blown spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel.
Some just need a spreadsheet program to do the basic stuff.
There are quite a few software's that are a real alternative to Excel.

Following are all free :
1. Gnumeric - This is a light weight stand alone alternative. Even has text to column functionality.
If you are stuck with Office starter version and need text to column functionality, you can straight away get this. Very useful.

2. Open office Calc - This has much elaborate functionality. One downside is, Calc alone cannot be downloaded. The entire office suite of openoffice has to be downloaded. You can install Calc alone though.

3. Byedesign - Shareware.

There are some well known software available that perform the task of allowing you to add music to ipod/iphones - like Sharepod, Yamipod etc.

Those are pretty straight forward to use for iPods.
However for iphone there are very few options - most of these software's work fine with iPod only and not iPhone. Reason being design limitations, to changes to iOS itself with each new version among others

There are others that are published to work for iPhone but have been flagged by many to contain malware/spyware.

After considerable research, the alternative seems to be MediaMonkey

Although I knew it as a music player, music management software, it was a surprise to me that it could handle music transfer to the idevices as well.

Once you have mediamonkey installed and songs added to the library, simply right click and hit 'send to iPhone'. The song would get transferred.

Adv:
* Hassles free.Does the job.
* No malware worries (Well known popular software)
* Free

Disadv:
* Recently added playlist does not get populated in iPhone using this method.

You could also try with other music players software like Winamp for similar functionality.(I have not tried)

Income Tax India Efiling AY 2012-2013

Until last year the income tax department was providing two option for preparing returns - using Excel or PDF file. However, this year one needs to have Microsoft excel full version installed.This is the only way to prepare returns for efiling this year.

Those having Microsoft Excel starter edition are out of luck- they cannot be used as they do not support Macros.

Tethering is the concept that allows you to share the internet connection your mobile phone has with
any other device that you'd like to connect.

On the iPhone iOS 5 , you will need to enable the 'Personal Hotspot' option (Settings->General->Network->Personal Hotspot -> Slide switch to ON.

Now you can connect your laptop to the phone with USB/wifi and start accessing internet straight away.
No special network configuration on the laptop is required.

If you see the 'Personal Hotspot' option but get a message "To enable personal hotspot please contact Airtel " insttead of "on/off slide", simply go the previous screen and return back to the network page
and you will see the on/off slide. If not, repeat process with restart.
No call to airtel is required to enable.

Thr Login page displayed in this case is same as the normal one, but takes you directly to Basic view.

Gmail login issue on iphone safari browser?

There does seem to be issues - even if the password is entered correctly, login fails in safari.

The integrated mail application works fine at the same time.
The solution is to use http://mail.google.com instead in the safari address bar. It works!

Preserving laptop battery life

Most laptop batteries are rated to last for 1000 charge cycles. Trying to save on charge cycles by using plugged in always is detrimental. At the end of a year, the battery life would actually drop to 1 or 2 hours. The best way to keep the battery life of the new laptop in good condition is - To not continuously use it plugged in to charger. The recommended approach is to charge fully and then use on battery - even if you are home or have access to power socket.

Just some thoughts on Komaram Puli.

Power star - A high voltage song for the hero.Don't know why they do a 'BLUE' again in 3:15 ! :)
Namakame - My pick from the album, a devotional melody.Reminds me of so many songs - Primarily Mettu Podu (Duet), Konja naal poru thalaiva (Aasai). I guess that's Ananda bhairavi raaga's effect.

Maham Maye - Interesting to see Suchitra in a ARR album (don't remember seeing her earlier.)
She sings with the same style as in her recent hits but ARR seems to have given it a layer of polish.

Dochey - Lady Kash'n krissy impressive in this one. 3:34 - 3:37 strikingly reminds me of another number but am unable to pin it down.

Definition link is back on Google search

The definition link that google has earlier removed from the search results has now been restored!
So no need to type in the "define:" keyword to lookup dictionary meanings.

Update 9/7/2010: Just a day after bringing the feature back, Google has again taken the definition link down.
Whats happening? Is it testing?

Update 13/7/2010: Ok. A revamped dictionary is now displayed for word searches on Google.
Infact this is even better than the original definition link. The meaning is provided along with search results. Just hope this one stays.

Attachment alert in Gmail

Gmail has a useful feature to alert if you have missed a attachment you meant to.
This works if there are phrased like "please find attached","see attachment", but does not work if you write "Attached herewith" or simply "Attached". May be these can be added.

Samsung GURU cellphones do have an option to silence an incoming call in normal profile, just like how nokia provides a 'Silence' option on screen. However, this text 'silence' is not visible in samsung guru screen and is also not documented.

To silence an incoming call just press the Down arrow key on navigation button for 2 seconds.
Next time when a call is received, the phone will ring with original volume.
You can also consecutively press the down arrow button to reduce the ringer volume of incoming call.

Unable to minimize windows remote desktop connection?

If you are stuck in a situation where you are unable to bring up the yellow bar at the top the remote desktop connection/server (MSTSC), to minimize and go back to the source machine, there are 2 solutions.
One is to log off the connection. But you will lose all session info.
The other is to hover the mouse at the top most part of the screen where the yellow bar usually appears and then middle click.This brings the yellow bar back.
Works in Windows XP/2003 servers.

I faced a minor problem when installing Google chrome - even without any firewall running but connected to internet.Google installer failed, throwing the error no 0x80072efd- which means GoogleUpdate.exe could not connect to internet.

The solution, at least in my case, is to manually start zonealarm and then grant permission to googleupdate.exe when installing. (Earlier,I had disabled firewall from starting automatically on system startup). Without firewall, Google chrome should have installed easily,but seems to work only after firewall is started.Uh!
