After taking a few years off, I was back at Indy this year and loved it. How many years of seniority will I need to eventually move into the b stand, and eventually the b stand penthouse?

There was nothing like hearing the closing chorus “greatest race…in the world” and then the booming voice “RADIO INDIANA….W-I-B-C INDIANAPOLIS”. This still gives me goose bumps!

If you read the text at the top of the page and look at the satellite photo you will find the answer to your question. The section numbers are the opposite of what you suggested… going counter-clockwise, they run from section 50 along the backstretch to section 1 next to North Vista on the north end of the track. The blue nubers on the satellite photo indicate the sections… they are not all listed but with a little effort you can figure them out.

im looking to buy tix in the NE vista for the 500. does anyone know the section numbers and does the lower section number begin counter clockwise same as the drivers direction?

I’m so glad I found this! I have a copy of this record somewhere (but no record player to play it on) and used to be able to sing every word of it! I just got back from the 500 museum this week and took photos of Jimmy’s cars and kept humming this darn song the whole time….driving my husband nuts. I plan to put my photos in one of my blogs and would like to link to this site so people can hear the song. I grew up in Indy and the 500 is “in my blood” like all Indy residents. So glad you have this!

Hey all, My 3 college sons and I have sat in the Paddock Penthouse, Paddock, stand C and Tower Suites over the years at the 500. Does anyone have any suggestions on some new Stands we may want to try? Obviously E Penthouse would be rubbing elbows with the hierarchy but I’m quite sure they are not available. Anyone want to share their little secrets on the honey spots at Indy?
