Sangre Eterna Will Release Asphyxia In February

ASPHYXIA, the second album from Serbian Melodic Death Metal band SANGRE ETERNA, will receive a worldwide release on 17th February 2012 via the Canadian label MAPLE METAL RECORDS. The CD features guest appearances by Aleksi Sihvonen (NORTHER), Tapio Wilska (ex-FINNTROLL, NIGHTWISH), Juha Kylmänen (FOR MY PAIN), Jarmo Kylmänen (ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW) and Jovana Karajanov (TALES OF DARK). The 11-track effort was recorded in late 2010 and was mastered in Germany by Stephan Fimmers (NECROPHAGIST).

The first Serbian band to tour Sweden, SANGRE ETERNA performed at the 2009 edition of the Exit Festival in Novi Sad, Serbia alongside such bands as KATAKLYSM, SABATON, DEATH ANGEL and KEEP OF KALESSIN.

Angtoria To Return In 2012 With New Name And Album

British female singer Sarah Jezebel Deva (CRADLE OF FILTH, THERION, MORTIIS), and Swedish composer Chris Rehn (ABYSSOS) will begin work on a new album in January which will pick up where their last collaborative effort, ANGTORIA, left off five years ago. According to Sarah, "the music will continue in the same vein as [ANGTORIA's 2006] debut album, GOD HAS A PLAN FOR US ALL, blending the world of Orchestral Music with Metal."

Due to reasons beyond their control, Sarah and Chris have to change the name of the project. More information will be made during the coming weeks.

"GOD HAS A PLAN FOR US ALL" was released in Europe in April 2006 via LISTENABLE RECORDS. The CD was issued in North America in October of that same year.

ANGTORIA's music video for the title track can be seen below. Sarah previously stated about the track and the accompanying clip, "The song covers two subjects but they are both linked. Written about a man who preaches god's word yet finds it acceptable to sexually abuse children. Also this song describes the pitiful chilché used by many religous people who can't offer any other explanation as to why people suffer in their life. Rape, murder, poverty, whatever it may be, the only excuse that can be offered is: GOD HAS A PLAN FOR US ALL.

She added, "The music video was filmed at two locations, a very impressive and beautiful church (Njurunda Kyrka) and an abandoned deteriorated building, over a three-day period and due to the lyrical theme of the song it was filmed as a 'short movie.' It contains footage of as well the band as Chris' five-year-old daughter Saga who played the child, Toni Davey (wife of Dani Filth in CRADLE OF FILTH and covergirl on the [ANGTORIA] album) who played the child as a grown-up to a 35-piece church choir and a priest played by Pierre Ragnehag!"

Sarah Jezebel Deva To Guest On Cradle Of Filth's Orchestral Album

British vocalist Sarah Jezebel Deva - who has toured and/or recorded with CRADLE OF FILTH, THERION, MORTIIS and ANGTORIA - has issued the following update:

"In 2008, I parted ways with CRADLE OF FILTH, to pursue a life in Australia, bum some kangaroos and to go it alone as a solo musician.

"I know a lot of fans were disappointed with the departure and until now, whenever a fan asks, 'Will you ever work with CRADLE OF FILTH again?," the answer has been No!

"Well, last week, Mr. Filth [CRADLE OF FILTH frontman vocalist Dani 'Filth' Davey] sent me an email and after many chats, I have decided to take him up on his offer to participate on [CRADLE OF FILTH's] new orchestral album, MIDNIGHT IN THE LABYRINTH.

"[I] hope this will make some of you happy. If it doesn't, well, you will get over it."

Dani previously stated that MIDNIGHT IN THE LABYRINTH would feature "nine classic CRADLE OF FILTH tunes reinvented as orchestral compositions." He added, "This is no elevator music (or indeed the theme music to 'Schindler's Lift'!), this is a full-on Horror film soundtrack in the vein of Danny Elfman, Christopher Young or Jerry Goldsmith. Musical scores to whittle away the evil winter months to?"

Tentatively due in April 2012, MIDNIGHT IN THE LABYRINTH will feature the following track listing (not final sequence):

Founder David Gold Of Woods Of Ypres Passes Away

David Gold, a founding member of the Ontario, Canada-based Black/ Doom Metal band WOODS OF YPRES, was killed on 22nd December 2011 in an accident near Barrie, Ontario.

WOODS OF YPRES's new album, WOODS 5: GREY SKIES & ELECTRIC LIGHT, is scheduled for release on 31st January 2012 via EARACHE RECORDS. The CD was recorded with producer Siegfried Meier (KITTIE) at BEACH ROAD STUDIOS in Ontario, Canada, and was mixed by John Fryer (NINE INCH NAILS, PARADISE LOST).

Gold previously described WOODS 5: GREY SKIES & ELECTRIC LIGHT as "a tighter, more effective WOODS OF YPRES for a broader audience of listeners young and old, new and loyal. A satisfying 'press play and drive' kind of album drawing the best from old Woods, current Woods and the Woods yet to come on what will be a milestone album, our sixth in less than 10 years and nearing the 10th anniversary of the founding of the band. We've never sounded better and we'd never been fully satisfied with any recording, until now. 10 songs, just as much about modern life as death, existence, society, the forest, the city, hurt and love. Competition: Get A Chance To Open For Dischordian At Blue Frog

Mumbai based Alternative Rock/ Acoustic band DISCHORDIAN is holding a competition where we are inviting fans and everyone else to to go ahead and video record a version of any of our songs. Then we'd like them to upload it onto our Facebook page where we have created a special competition tab. The competition is already on and will close only on the 14th of january. The winner gets to open for us with a small set at out next Bluefrog gig which is on the 19th January 2012.

Hello everybody!

Over the last several months, we've been busy with other things, and it's been a while since we played much in the city. We're working on fixing that, and we've got a couple of gigs lined up for you in the next couple of months.

In the meanwhile, a number of people have shared with us their versions of our songs. We've gotten quite a kick out of watching the YouTube videos posted on our wall or passed along by friends, and from hearing the surprise DISCHORDIAN cover at a random party. Nice to know that our songs are being played even while we're off doing other stuff.

So here's what we want to do: we want to hear more versions of DISCHORDIAN songs from you - and if we really like your version, we'll give you a short opening set at our Blue Frog gig next month.

What you need to do:
1) Record a video of yourself performing one of our songs.
2) Upload the video to our page (Look for the 'new video' button at the end of this note).

Things to remember:
1) When you upload your video, remember to mention your name and your email ID so we can get in touch with you.
2) A straight cover is usually not as interesting as a cover with a twist (or even one that's completely reinvented!). That said, we're open to anything.
3) There's a file size limit of 5MB - so don't waste your time with high quality video. A video shot on your phone is good enough, as long as we can see and hear you.
4) You can do this by yourself or with a friend, or with your whole band.
5) About the gig - the opening set will be 15 minutes long, you have to carry your own gear, and you need to get there early for a soundcheck.
6) And we can't pay you to open for us.
7) If you live outside Bombay, we cannot, of course, bring you down for the gig. However - if we really like your video, we might have two prizes and save the out-of-town one for when we visit your city.
8) We will not be bribed by alcohol. (Including "Feni".)
9) The competition closes on 14th January 2012 and the winner will be announced on 15th January 2012.

Gig Alert: Black Metal Krieg (B. M. K) 2012!

Black Metal Krieg (B. M. K) was the first and still remains the only Black Metal Gig to happen in India. The first edition of B. M. K was held on 26 th December, 2010 at B69, Mumbai where 3 of the finest Black Metal acts from India shared the stage with Sri Lankan band – DHISHTI.

B. M. K II promises to live up to the expectations of the fans and the bands to provide a platform to the genre which is still developing in India. As a treat for the fans and as a mark of respect for the genre, BMK II will be a tribute to the greatest Black Metal bands whereby all bands will play a few covers of the bands they admire.

The event will be held at B69 in Andheri, Mumbai on 21 st January, 2012. The gig will witness the comeback of one of Mumbai’s oldest Symphonic Black Metal band COSMIC INFUSION. DHISHTI from Sri Lanka who will be on their Indian tour, will also play at the event for the 2 nd time!

About Saarang:
Saarang is the annual cultural festival of IIT Madras with a footfall of more than 50,000 each year. Saarang 2012 is going to be held from 18th-22nd January 2012.

From the days it was called "Mardi Gras", the annual festival conducted by IIT Madras on its vast and serene campus is forgotten by none who attend it, whether they participate or come to witness the spectacle. Saarang is conducted during the final week of January, and made possible every year by the determined efforts of nearly a thousand students. Drawing more than 20,000 people across all ages, Saarang sets the standard as far as cultural festivals go. With an expected footfall of 50,000, this five-day festival is the traditional meeting place for the young and those young at heart.
