Shoaib Akhtar playing his first match in IPL picked up 4 wickets for 11 runs in 3 overs to demolish th Delhi Dare Devils top order and secure an important win for Knight Riders. Shoaib bowling at a regular pace of 150 Kmph was very accurate in his line and varied his length to trouble the delhi batsmen. The Knight Riders who won the toss chose to bat first but a good bowling attack from Delhi meant Kolkata could only make 134 runs in their 2o overs.

Salman Butt high scoring with 44 runs and David Hussey chiped in with 31. Most of the batsmen struggled to get to double figures. McGrath as usual bowled miserly though he was not amongst the wickets, Yomahesh and Farveez Maharoof picked up a couple of wickets each.
Delhi Dare Devils lost Sehwag in the very first over bowled by Shoaib were never able to get back into the game and were bowled out for 110 in the 18th over. Knight Riders after this win have crawled up the table to fouth place with 10 points.

Rajasthan Royals have won the IPL 30th match convincingly. Winning toss Shane warne put the deccan chargers to bat. Gilchrist opening the batting as usual scored his consecutive fifty, but a dismal batting towards the end of the innings meant that the Chargers only put up 140 runs on board for the Royals to chase.
Yusuf Pathan and Graeme Smith put up 109 runs in just 12.4 overs to take the game away from the Chargers. Pathan was the more aggressive of the openers scoring 68 of only 37balls which included 9 fours and 2 sixes. None of the Chargers bowlers very effective in troubling the Royals and eventually the Royals convincingly won the match in 16 overs. Rajasthan Royals head the points table with 12 points from eight games.

Both Delhi & Bangalore will be itching to get their revenge on Chennai & Kolkata in tonights IPL twenty20 games. Delhi lost their home game against Chennai while Bangalore lost the first home game against kolkata. Delhi has got their top three batsman in premium form while they’ve also got a deadly opening bowling attack in the form of McGrath and Asif. Both these bowlers have also got good support in Yomahesh and Rajat Bhatia, the local players who performed very well in most of the Delhi matches. On the other hand Chennai SuperKings are struggling both with bat and ball at this very important stage in the IPL tournament.

Superkings will require at least a couple of good innings from their inform batsmen Dhoni, Raina and Morkel. Bowling needs to be looked at as they have only claimed seven wickets in their last three outings. Delhi Dare Devils are no doubt the favorites to win tonights game and it will be worth while to watch Sehwag and Ghambir go after the superkings bowling attack.

Kolkata and Bangalore are more evenly poised with 4 points on the table. Bangalore captain Dravid finally found form and showed his class in last game with a 51 ball 66 against Deccan Chargers while Kolkata captain Saurav Ganguly has a lot to prove after failing in almost all the matches kolkata has played. It will be a good contest between Dale Steyn and Ganguly, Isant Sharma vs Dravid. Tonights matches can prove crucial and may work to the advantage of other teams at the bottom half of the table.
