The new 3D fast-paced game is meant for iPhone users in the U.S., UK and Australia.

“We are in all probability the first Indian company to publish titles on the iPhone. Starting with cricket, Indiagames will launch more games based on Bollywood movies,” says Vishal Gondal, CEO, Indiagames. Indiagames sees iPhone App Store as a very competitive market place. More than 6,000 games are now available on the Store.

Stepping into a new platform, Indiagames see a huge opportunity in this space as there are many people in the U.S., who are keen on playing these kind of games on iPhones.

“iPhone is an exciting handset, which has changed the mobile gaming scene throughout the world. It has made other handset manufacturers to think about their products again and make more user friendly experience like the iPhone. One of its main features is the use of the touch screen, which has been fully utilized in this cricket game,” explains Srinivasan, Indiagames’ lead programmer for the Cricket T20 Super Sixers game.

The game enables the players to slash and slide across the screen and play the favorite cricket shots. It also offers real life player animation with the game based in Durban. Using your fingers, you can play the favorite cricket shots with gesture controls.

Driving attention to the telecom sector, major telecom players have proposed for deployment of mobile broadband financed by private players, which would create 25 million jobs. Global GSM players like AT&T Mobile, Ericsson, Alcatel Lucent, Orascom, MTN Group and Sunil Bharti Mittal of Bharti Airtel have submitted the proposal to PM Manmohan Singh, to endorse it at the G20 meet.

The proposal also highlighted that the move will boost global GDP by around four percent. “The initiative is centered on replicating the success story of GSM and making access to the Internet via mobile broadband devices ubiquitous. The broad economic impact of this is well established in research. In emerging economies, a 10 percent increase in mobile penetration boosts annual GDP growth by 1.2 percent,” said the letter.

Highlighting the efficacy of the mobile firms, the companies provide voice and basic data services to over four billion consumers, on networks that cover over six billion. A 10 percent increase in mobile penetration will boost annual GDP growth by 1.2 percent. In return for this, the mobile industry has asked for two key enabling actions from the G20 governments.

Washington: In a message that may not be music to Indian outsourcing firms, U.S. President Barack Obama has served notice that he would end the tax breaks for corporations that ship jobs abroad.

Giving his first speech to a joint session of the U.S. Congress Tuesday, Obama said: “We will restore a sense of fairness and balance to our tax code by finally ending the tax breaks for corporations that ship our jobs overseas.”

If Obama follows through with the announcement in the budget, whose outline he would present Thursday, the move may hurt India’s BPO sector as without the tax breaks, U.S. companies may find it less attractive to outsource jobs to India.

After passing a $787 billion stimulus plan free of earmarks, or pet projects introduced by lawmakers in any legislation, Obama told the Congress: “I want to pass a budget next year that ensures that each dollar we spend reflects only our most important national priorities.”

Recalling that at a fiscal summit Monday he had pledged to cut America’s deficit in half by the end of his first term in office, he said: “My administration has also begun to go line by line through the federal budget in order to eliminate wasteful and ineffective programmes.”

“In order to save our children from a future of debt, we will also end the tax breaks for the wealthiest two percent of Americans,” he added.

Noting that his recovery plan provides a tax cut for 95 percent of working families, Obama said to preserve America’s long-term fiscal health, “we must also address the growing cost in medicare and social security”.

“Comprehensive health care reform is the best way to strengthen medicare for years to come, and we must also begin a conversation on how to do the same for social security, while creating tax-free universal savings accounts for all Americans,” Obama said.

“Finally, because we’re also suffering from a deficit of trust, I am committed to restoring a sense of honesty and accountability to our budget,” he said announcing that for the first time the budget will reflect the full cost of fighting the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“For seven years, we’ve been a nation at war. No longer will we hide its price,” Obama said.

Technology prowess of Indian brain will be more eminent in U.S. if the Obama Administration zeroes in on one of the Indian-born technology executives as the federal Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Padmasree Warrior, CTO of Cisco Systems and Vivek Kundra, who holds the same title in the government of Washington, D.C. are the two leading candidates for the newly created post.

The President-elect is expected to announce his pick for CTO in a matter of days. One of the sources says the selection is being held up because it’s not yet clear how the person selected as CTO will interact with the government’s chief information officer, a position now held by Karen Evans, and with the new cyber-security czar, another position that has not yet been filed, as reported by Business Week.

Warrior, who previously was CTO at Motorola, represents hard-core technology expertise, while Kundra has a reputation for using technology to make government more open and inclusive and advises Obama’s transition team on technology issues. Neither the Obama transition team nor the two executives would comment on their potential selection by Obama.

While Warrior declined to comment on her candidacy, she gave a brief e-mail statement to BusinessWeek: “Cisco is committed to working closely with the Obama Administration on their plans to deploy digital infrastructure to grow our economy and create jobs. Smart networking technologies and IT play a critical role in transforming government, energy, education, and health care. President-elect Obama and his team fully understand the importance of digital infrastructure to further our technology leadership as a nation.”

Infosys has made it clear that they will not hire anybody from Satyam. “We will not touch such a tainted company,” said Infosys Founder and non-executive Chairman N R Narayana Murthy, while commenting on speculations over the firm’s plan to takeover Satyam.

The company has also instructed their recruiting staff to avoid employing any Satyam employees. “We have asked our recruitment staff not to poach anybody from Satyam as the company is in the middle of a crisis and people will jump ship,” said TV Mohandas Pai, HR head at Infosys. The company has even advised its staff against entertaining calls from Satyam employees. The decision comes as a major roadblock to all employees who have begun hunting for other jobs. 10,900 Satyam employees have posted their resumes on the top job portals since one month. Amidst such turbulence, Infosys also said that the company will not hire any domain experts or project managers from the fraudulent firm, reports Economic Times.

Although Satyam’s top management put up a brave face, saying it has assured employees of their future, the flood of messages at job portals and frenzied blog postings tell a different story. Addressing a conference on Thursday, Satyam’s interim CEO Ram Mynampati said that the company had taken care of employees’ December salaries but faced a cash crunch.

Indian companies are now gearing up to present job seekers with a New Year gift.Though gone is a year of lay-offs, the 2009 could see a makeover in the job outlook with companies planning to hire more than 2,50,000 new employees over the next months.

The industry experts believe that the overall job market scenario is set for a recovery in the second half of the year. However, the proposed 2.5 lakh hiring is mostly for the financial services industry.

Public sector banking giants like State Bank of India and Punjab National Bank along with insurance firms such as Anil Ambani group’s Reliance Life, SBI Life, Metlife and Max New York Life are some of the firms that are planning to hire in a big scale. Even some BPOs and healthcare firms like ACS and Accentia are planning to hire thousands of people in the coming days.

The proposed hiring includes more than one lakh of full-time employees and about 1.5 lakh in the part-time positions with the insurance companies. Among other sectors, manufacturing and export-oriented businesses are, however, likely to continue to witness some pressure in the next few months, after huge job losses seen during 2008.

According to, HR consultancy firm Hewitt Associates, sectors like insurance, telecom (where new licensees are entering), infrastructure and special economic zones may look for fresh hiring in 2009. However, sectors like real estate, textile and retail sit on somewhat uncertain hiring outlook

For all of us who love to rant against politicians, but don’t even move out of our houses to vote, the *excuse* being “why should I vote for corrupt politicians?” lets do something productive, as listed below. It may help…The point is “Make a Difference”. We should know the credentials and vote for a genuine candidate. If not, please vote Not To Vote….

Constitution Allows *”I Vote Not to Vote”*

Did you know that there is a system in our constitution, as per the 1969 act, in section *”49-O”* that a person can go to the polling booth, Confirm his identity, get his finger marked and convey the presiding election officer that he doesn’t want to vote for anyone! Yes such a feature is available, but obviously these seemingly notorious leaders have never disclosed it. This is called *”49-O”*.

Why should you go and say *”I VOTE NOBODY”*… because, in a ward, if a candidate wins, say by 123 votes, and that particular ward has received * “49-O”* votes more than 123, Then that polling will be cancelled and will have to be *Re-Polled*. Not only that, but the *Candidature of the Contestants* will be removed and *they cannot contest the re-polling.*
Since people had already expressed their decision on them. This would bring fear into parties and hence look for genuine candidates for their parties for election. This would change the way, of our whole political system… It is seemingly surprising why the election commission has not revealed such a feature to the public….

Please spread this news to as many as you know… Seems to be *a wonderful weapon against Corrupt Politicians and Political Parties in India … show your power,* expressing your desire not to vote for anybody is even more powerful than voting… so don’t miss your chance. So either vote, or vote not to vote (vote 49-O)!

Circulate this and create general awareness before the polls.
