CD packaging design for BlakOpz’s second full-length album, As Nations Decay on Deathwatch Asia in Japan and Vendetta Music in North America.

BlakOPz is a two-man Industrial/EBM/Electro band from Phoenix, AZ and Los Angeles, CA.

As Nations Decay is packaged in a 4-panel digipak and includes a booklet with lyrics.

Behind The Design

I had a very limited amount of time and resources to put together a pitch for the cover of this album’s release so I chose to utilize a stock photo from a major micro stock website. The remainder of the album’s artwork is based on the cover design and the name of the album itself. The photo on the inside of the tray was provided by the band.

CD packaging design for V2A’s fourth full-length album, Destroyer of Worlds on Noitekk in Europe.

V2A is a two-man Industrial/EBM/Electro band from the United Kingdom.

Destroyer of Worlds is packaged in a standard Jewel case with a transparent traycard and features a 6-page booklet.

I also designed the band’s logo that appears on the cover and disc.

Behind The Design

The band requested something dark, dirty and nasty using black and white as the main color scheme.

The remainder of the layout features a combination of this theme and promotional photos provided by the band members.

Before I relocated to Colorado I had the opportunity to work with Denver, CO based Lokusdor Productions on a flyer and poster design for CoDE-13: The Colorado Dark Expo. CoDE-13 is happening tomorrow, Sunday, April 28th from noon until midnight and will feature live music, DJs, artists, designers, stylists, performances, food, vendors and dancing. Hope to see some of you there!

CoDE-13 is a celebration of the surreal, dark, twisted, and eccentric. Each presenter in this festival has volunteered their time, talents, creativity and energy. Proceeds will benefit the following non-profit organizations that provide services for homeless and gay youth: Urban Peak (Denver and Colorado Springs), Rainbow Alley (Denver), Inside Out Youth Services (Colorado Springs), and DenverPIQUE (Denver).

A comprehensive Myspace (2.0 style) profile design for Netherfabrik.

The profile features a large header graphic, custom background image, horizontal navigation and various “modules” that display different information.

Netherfabrik is an electro-industrial act originally from Milwaukee, WI but now based in Hollywood, CA consisting of sole member Joshua Fielstra.

FGFC820★ is an industrial band from New York consisting of Rexx Arkana and Dräcos von Strecker.

Behind The Design

The photo of the band members is actually a digital photo manipulation that combines two separate photos. I also designed the band’s logo. The design is based on artwork found in the liner notes of the band’s album Law & Ordnance.

I recently had the opportunity to design this flyer for Dave Vendetta of Denver, CO based Vendetta Music. The flyer is for a new club night called OMEN which specializes in EBM, Electro, Industrial and Dark Rave music. I used stock photography and other images collected from various online sources in the production of this flyer. Here are the raw elements so you can visualize how the flyer was put together:

This chrome skull serves as the centerpiece and main focal point of the design.

A massive electric motor makes a nice frame for the skull…

I modified this 3D render to create spikes which I used throughout the design.

Finally, I used this Mayan calendar to add some texture to the background.
