Airtel Broadband Hack : Increase Your Internet Speed

I usually get 2-4 mails a week asking about how to increase Internet Speed. As I am using Airtel Broadband connection so today I am going to tell you that how you can increase your Internet speed from 64 Kbps to 256 Kbps without any software. I do not know whether this trick is legal or not but I guarantee you that Airtel will never know about this.
So lets start :

Requirements :

1) An Airtel broadband connection.

2) Any Airtel phone number with high broadband speed :

Yes, you need a phone number of Airtel with high broadband speed like 256 kbps.

Airtel connection is so common that any of your friend or neighbour might be using it.

Just ask for their phone number and save it. As an example, I am assuming a number 1234567

Step1) Now comes the tricky part : Just call 197 from your Airtel landline phone and ask for the following details of the number 1234567.

>> Name of the owner of this number.

>> Address of the owner of this number.

Step 2) That's it. Now note down the 2 details mentioned above.

Step 3) Now call customer care ( 4444121) from Airtel landline and tell them that I need the Account Number and give them the phone number you have e.x 1234567He/she will ask you for the account details and tell them exactly what you noted in

Step 4).Note : Airtel by default sets the username as Phone Number and password as Account Number.

Now you have phone number and account number of a person that has a high broadband Airtel connection.Now I am going to tell you that what to do with the phone number and account number.

Step 5) Open Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox and in the address bar enter the following address and hit enter.
192.168.1.1 When you will press enter a Window will pop up asking for User Name and Password.

Step 5) In the user name and password field enter the details below :
User Name : admin

Password : password

DSL Router will open and we have to make some changes in the Modem settings.

Step 6) In the left sidebar click on WAN and a new page will open and click on EDIT.

Have a look :

Click on Edit and keep on clicking Next until you get this screen :

Now in the PPP Username and PPP Password enter the following.

PPP Username : 01721234567@_dsl@airtelbroadband.in( Here is 0172 is my State Code and 1234567 is the phone number is assumed but in your case both will be different. )

PPP Password : enter the account number that your noted in Step 2After entering these keep on clicking Next and at last click on Save and then Save and Reboot.

Now reboot your system and check your Internet speed here.

Congrats now you have high Internet Speed connection.

Vodafone to launch iPhone on 22 August, starting from Rs. 31000 in India

Just checked official mail from Vodafone confirming launch date and price of Apple iPhone in India. Vodafone is launching iPhone in India from August 22, 2008 with 8GB & 16GB models, priced at Rs. 31,000 and Rs. 36,100 respectively.
Vodafones rival,
Airtel is also launching iPhone on 22 August probably at the same price.
This is much higher than what I have expected. Also as these prices are clearly targeting very rich consumer section, these iPhones may come altogether with different plan with higher call rates / GPRS charges.
But I am still hopeful that prices will drop significantly once telecom companies make enough profits from first wave of iPhone customers. So I will surely wait for atleast 2 months before buying iPhone.

Sushil Kumar won the bronze medal after beating Kazakhstan's wrestler in a play-off in the men's 66 kg freestyle wrestling through repechage round at the Beijing Olympics.

Earlier, India's ace freestyle grappler Sushil Kumar lost ion the first round to Ukraine's Andriy Stadnik in the men's 66 kg freestyle event. Stadnik started of well as he earned the first point while Sushil levelled it soon but the tough Ukrainian took the lead again as he led the first round 2-1.

Stadnik strengthened his lead by scoring quick six points in the second round while Sushil didn't even score a lone point against his mighty Ukrainian opponent.

Eventually Sushil made it to the Olympics after making it to the quarter-finals of the World wrestling championship, where he lost to Stadnik from a convincing margin of 4-15.

It has to be IE Tab, an add-on I use and use often.People can go nuts with Firefox add-ons, installing so many that they quickly forget what you have. But IE Tab is useful for those times when you want to open a web page in IE, either because it doesn't render well in the Mozilla engine, or because you want to run a setup file without saving it to your hard drive, something IE does that Firefox doesn't.

How to Direct Connect Two Computers

Connect the USB cable to the proper port on each computer.
Click on "Start" in the lower left-hand corner of the desktop screen. Then choose "Control Panel," "Network and Internet Connections" and "Network Connections."
Step2
When logged in as "administrator" or a user that is a member of the "administrators" group, full access to all of the devices that are installed and enabled on the computer will show up in a list when creating a new connection. If one is not logged in as an administrator or member of the administrators group, COM ports for direct connections will not be available. COM ports must be configured with a null modem for use with a direct connection, and this must be done by a user with administrative privileges.
To configure a device to be used with a null modem, use the Phone and Modem icon found in Control Panel.
Step3
Select "Create a new connection" on the left side of the menu.
Click "Next."Step4Choose "Set up an advanced connection.
Click "Next" again.Step5Pick "Connect directly to another computer."

Orkut Albums Got Faster with AJAX

Noticed today change in Orkuts album navigation. Previous and Next image links (highlighted in screenshot below) now loads consecutive images using AJAX. In simple words when you click on these links now, they loads previous/next image in album without refreshing entire page. All this mean, you can browse orkut albums faster now.

This feature is still seems under experiment. I came across some weird messages and also loading indicator image which you can note in above screenshot is appearing in top-left corner for first image load.
Orkut can still improve many things with album navigation. May be they can do it the way I did it one year ago with my AJAX Style Orkut album script. I stopped updating that script, but still this screenshot can give you feeling of how it changed Orkut Album Navigation.

Hackers always keep an eye on RS accounts, so if your account is scammed here is a working way to get it back.Note : This post is written by ShadowSwifter and I am just attempting to rewrite it in my own words.So lets start :As you get a Rapidshare Account note down all the following details of your account and save it in your computer.
Name*: ...
E-Mail*: ...
Login-ID*: ...
Transaction-ID*: ...
Date of account-creation: ...
Date of payment**: ... I
f your account get scammed write an email to support@rapidshare.com telling about all the information of your account. Here is what ShadowSwifter provided for Rapidshare Technical Support to get his accounts back:

1. Account name: Login ID and the aliases you've used.
2. Date of creation.
3. Date of thievery.
4. A copy of the LOGS (where the IPs are recorded) and tell RS which ones are friendly and get them to blacklist the hostile ones (which are most likely ones belonged to the scammer)
5. Email used to create the account.
6. All emails that have been applied to the account.
7. Make a backup of all the links of the files uploaded to the account (use that extract link option)He further says that "Rapidshare asked us to give them a few links of uploaded content, I think they use them to track the account so its vital for you to have a clear record of what have been uploaded to your account and what their links are."
8. Tell them the Number of files uploaded and the Total Size of the files uploaded. Simply copy paste the account status on your main menu.
9. Tell them how many points you have got.

New Orkut Mobile Site for Symbian Smartphones

Few months back in April, Orkut launched mobile version of their social network at http://m.orkut.com/.
Now they have upgraded their mobile site with some nice features like photo uploading, click-to-call, better friend search, etc.
Good thing is, to use this new site you no need to download nay special mobile software or remember new address. Just go to old mobile site at http://m.orkut.com/ from your Symbian Series 60 (3rd Edition) handsets browser and you will be served with this new feature rich version.
You can check here, which handsets are Symbian Series 60 (3rd Edition).
Hopefully orkut will expand this to other handsets. I think they could do better by creating a java client as it exists for Gmail. That way they could have cover wider user-base.
