thanks for this article.

i tried to apply for home education last year but was stopped by the dept child safety. not because i did anything wrong but because they dont like it. in qld au there are 22000 students doing home education (quote from home ed unit qld).

the school i had them in reported truancy i had the juvinial aid brurue turn up at my house and everything. in qld you have to be totally deregistered to be able to apply for home ed. they pulled our family apart because of it. I was following the laws for education in au.

Im going to do it again, i'll just change my name.

Interenational law and state law says I can so i will.

Whats the goverment going to do? build another 32 schools and teachers when they dont have the funding to keep the schools they got now running?

This i got to see...

Teen stuff - we who homeschool have a different viewpoint on socialization. Like many other homeschool parents, I believe that in-school education is detrimental to a child's well-being. I explain a lot about this on my lens, Do You Support the Separation of School & State?

Homeschooled children socialize with people of many ages in a natural setting. Schooled children are segregated into age groups and learn bad habits from each other.

Being part of a home schooling family, your blog has been interesting to read. I appreciate your words and encouragement. I also wanted to pass along some information I ran across this week about a new opportunity for the kids. It's St. Mark's Academy and is a completely online middle/high school with an impressive and unique curriculum that allows each student to tailor his education to his specific needs and talents. It caught my eye and I had to take a 2nd look. I had to pass along the info to other homeschooling families. I know oftentimes the high school years bring challenges and perhaps this may be another option for families out there. check it out http://www.stmarksacademy.net/befree/

Education is the staring point for every person in life. In my opinion, homeschooling is not efficient on teenagers because it doesn't develop their ability to socialize, which will be very important throughout their life. This article presents some very useful piece of advice, but I still think that this situation is better to be avoided.
