1. Super outdated copyright notice.

If your copyright date in the footer of your website is over a year old, it’s probably a sign that nobody updates or manages your website.  This could either be because nobody at your business knows how to update the website or the person has left the company and the website is abandoned.

Many new websites, including the sites we develop, are built on content management platforms that are easy to understand and use. The platforms we use are widely adopted and don’t require any lengthy training.  Besides, fresh content is good for search engine optimization (SEO)!

2. Old addresses or staff pictures are still showing.

Have you gone through an entirely new staff, but your pictures are still showing the original employees?  Yeah, this could be a problem!  Don’t worry, a refreshed and updated website can fix all of this.  With proper maintenance and updating, using our easy content management platforms, you can easily update any outdated staff photos and bios as you expand and grow with newly hired talent.

3.  The entire website is composed of images or flash.

Back in the day, it was okay to create websites entirely of images or flash elements because search engines didn’t rely much on the “data” portion of the website.  It was all a matter of who could stuff the most keywords into their “META tags”.  Well, times have changed and if your website is still composed of images, chances are slim you will even be indexed by search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo!.

While it’s still okay to implement images and flash into a website, it’s not good to use too much.  Google and other search engines are getting better at crawling flash and image content, but until things progress, you should have a CSS valid website that follows standards and rules to assure your website gets picked up by search engines and people can find you and your business.
