In a video posted to her Instagram page on Friday, the 47-year-old addressed a recent post made by Anjorin, in which she claimed that a case filed against her had been thrown out.

Ojo, however, explained that the issue had not reached the courtroom and was still in the early stages of an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) process.

“What we went for was ADR, which means Alternative Dispute Resolution. We have not started any proper case. The ADR judge threw the case out. That woman, normally, I respect her a lot. One of the times we went there, she called us and told us to settle everything peacefully. But Lizzy Anjorin did not stop coming after me, my children, and my family,” she said in the video.

She clarified that while a judge initially distanced herself from the matter, she was later brought back into the process by Anjorin but eventually stepped away again.

“But let me repeat, the case has not started. That was just ADR,” Ojo reiterated.

She also accused Anjorin of consistently targeting her on social media, spreading false stories, and attacking anyone she is associated with.

“You keep attacking people who are close to me. You drag anyone you see with me. And the only reason I filed a case against you is because of all the false things you say about me,” she stated.

Ojo expressed serious concern for the safety of herself and her children, insisting that should any harm come their way, Anjorin should be among those questioned based on her previous behaviour and repeated online confrontations.

“There is nothing you have not accused me of. I should be the one to say that if anything happens to me, Iyabo Ojo, or to my daughter, Priscilla Ajoke, or to Festus Olajuwon Ojo, then you, Lizzy Anjorin, should be among the people held responsible,” she added.

In the caption attached to the video, she wrote: “If anything should happen to my children or my kids, hold Lizzy Anjorin responsible… we haven’t started any case yet… that was just ADR, case never start.”

As of the time of filing this report, Lizzy Anjorin is yet to respond to the accusations.

Waziri, who made the statement during an appearance on Channels TV on Friday, insisted that while there is currently no constitutional route to unseat the administration, the opposition is focused on waiting out the term until elections are due.

Ahmad made the suggestion in a statement issued on Thursday night, following a remark made by Vice President Kashim Shettima during a public event.

In the event, Shettima referred to Kwankwaso as “NNPP-APC,” a phrase many believe may not have been accidental.

Reacting to the development, Ahmad said: “If nothing else, Vice President Shettima referring to Senator Kwankwaso as ‘NNPP-APC’ is a strong signal that the NNPP leader and his teeming supporters are on the verge of joining our great party, the APC.”

He added that the possible defection would mark a new era of unity in Kano politics. “This will help to have a politically united Kano, something long desired for the progress and stability of our state,” he stated.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Nahum Daso, stated on Thursday that the suspects were arrested through an intelligence-led operation following a vehicle theft report on Tuesday at the Pompomari Bypass in Maiduguri.

He further mentioned that after the report was received, a discreet operation was initiated and “on July 10, 2025, while on a routine patrol, the command’s Crack Squad intercepted the stolen vehicle at the Bolori area, Maiduguri, from one Umar Muhammed, 34 years old.”

He continued, “During the investigation, the suspect confessed that the vehicle was handed to him by his accomplice, one Abubakar Sadiq, 18 years old, who had stolen it from where it was parked.

“Further investigation led to a raid on the suspect’s residence at Bolori, where two additional Mercedes-Benz C180 vehicles were recovered with five different vehicle plate numbers. The suspects admitted that they specialise in stealing vehicles, dismantling them into parts, and selling them.”

He went on to say that the suspects are now in custody and assisting with the ongoing investigation, while also encouraging anyone with reports of missing vehicles to come forward.

“Both suspects are currently in police custody and the case is under investigation.

“Members of the public who believe that any of the recovered vehicles may belong to them are advised to report to Crack Squad Unit, Borno State Police Command, with valid proof of ownership, documents for verification, and possible reclaim.

“The Borno State Police Command remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and will continue to intensify efforts to rid the state of criminal elements,” Daso concluded.

In a statement issued on Thursday, NAF spokesperson Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame disclosed that the convoy—made up of nearly 150 motorcycles moving in separate groups—was detected through real-time surveillance, with each motorcycle transporting no fewer than two armed terrorists.

He stated that once the targets were positively identified, NAF aircraft launched strikes on the convoy with deadly accuracy.

Ejodame said, “In a series of precision airstrikes conducted on 9 July 2025, targeting a migrating convoy along the Kebbi–Zamfara axis. The strikes were based on real-time intelligence, which revealed the movement of close to 150 motorcycles in batches, each carrying about 2 armed terrorists near Yarbuga in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

“After positive identification confirming the hostile presence, NAF aircraft engaged the convoy with devastating accuracy. Survivors were seen fleeing on foot and motorcycles, as air assets maintained persistent overwatch and executed follow-up strikes, effectively disrupting enemy withdrawal routes.”

Ejodame noted that surveillance visuals captured some of the surviving fighters attempting to escape on foot and motorcycles, but they were tracked and struck again in successive follow-up operations that disrupted their escape routes.

He said, “Following the airstrikes, ground troops conducted a follow-up exploit mission to Yarbuga village on the morning of 10 July 2025. At the scene, remains of scores of terrorists and their weapons were found in the area, along with several burnt motorcycles.

“This joint air–ground operation dealt a significant blow to bandit networks in the region. It underscores the Nigerian Air Force’s unwavering commitment to protecting civilian lives, denying terrorists freedom of action and supporting ground forces to ensure lasting peace across the country.”

According to her, if she had, she wouldn’t have pursued legal and investigative procedures through the proper channels.

“All of these steps clearly point to the fact that I never affirmed that Mohbad’s death was caused by any specific individual. Otherwise, I would not have taken the legal and investigative actions I did,” she wrote.

Iyabo explained that, through her NGO, Pinkies Foundation, she had sent official letters to relevant authorities including the Governor, Attorney General, Commissioner of Police, and the Lagos State House of Assembly, requesting a full investigation and a coroner’s inquest into Mohbad’s death.

She also pointed out that Mohbad’s wife, brother, and several others were invited by the police during the investigation, stressing that she has no control over how the authorities conduct their work.

“It should be on record that I can not dictate how the police should conduct their investigations,” she added.

The actress went on to reveal that she has been a target of threats and public attacks for years, often without any intervention from law enforcement. She recalled receiving a letter threatening her life just days before her daughter’s wedding in Tanzania.

“Sadly and to my dismay, certain individuals have, over the years, consistently called for my death, the destruction of my source of livelihood, and have incited public violence against me and my children, all without any intervention from the authorities.

“Without prejudice to the ongoing investigation, it is important to state that a few days before my daughter’s wedding in Tanzania, I received a letter threatening my life at my office. The letter explicitly stated that I would go through hell in the next three months,” she disclosed.

Iyabo said the threats have escalated, noting the recent appearance of coffins bearing her name and videos threatening her life and property.

“It is therefore not surprising to now see coffins inscribed with my name, barefaced videos threatening my life and properties, and further confirmation that my family and business enterprise remain endangered.”

She linked the attacks to her political stance during the last general elections.

However, those views were honest personal expressions, which I strongly believe should not result in vendettas or attacks from any individual or group of persons.”

Expressing her faith amidst the challenges, Iyabo wrote, “Without an iota of doubt, I have recently found comfort in the scriptures, which state that many are the afflictions of the righteous, but God will deliver me from them all. Despite everything, I trust that God will ultimately give me victory over adversity.”

She reiterated that her actions were driven by a desire for justice and not by a personal agenda.

“I wish to clarify that I never accused anyone of being responsible for Mohbad’s death. I was simply reacting emotionally to disturbing videos circulating at the time and used my platform to call for justice. I have always sought justice through the proper authorities, bearing all expenses personally through my foundation.”

Iyabo assured that she is open to any future police invitations or legal proceedings.

“I am fully ready to continue to honour further police invitation or arraignment, as I have done in the past, without fear.”

She also revealed that her office had recently been destroyed by fire and appealed for understanding as she takes time to care for her well-being.

“It is only humane to allow me the emotional space and time to tend to my health and well-being.”

Concluding, she expressed gratitude to everyone who has supported her through these difficult times.

“I extend my sincere appreciation to the police authorities, concerned individuals, friends, and supporters who have stood by me in the face of these daunting challenges, regardless of trībe, religion, or differing opinions. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

The commander, however, praised the dismissed recruits for their passion to serve and assured them of another opportunity post-childbirth.

“We appreciate their willingness to join our ranks. As they prepare for motherhood, they are welcome to return and reapply during our next recruitment. Their desire to serve is commendable,” Adedigba noted.

The dismissed women are expected to be reinvited once they have safely delivered and are fit for future service.

INFORMATION NIGERIA reports that Senate President Godswill Akpabio made the announcement during plenary on Thursday.

Akpabio named Aniekan Bassey, who represents Akwa Ibom north-east, as the new Chairman of the Diaspora and Non Governmental Organizations Committee.

The Senate President also hinted at a broader reshuffling of committee positions, saying a review of vice chairmanships would be undertaken in the coming week to ensure a more equitable distribution.

The incident, which took place in 2018 at Ikot Abasi Asutan in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area, involved the beheading of the victim by Akaninyene and another brother, Ime Thomas Okpon, who died in custody before the trial concluded.

The court heard that the convict had trailed the deceased to his hunting site and, along with his late co-accused, ambushed and killed him. They buried the head separately from the body.

Delivering judgment in Suit No. HU/5C/2019, Justice Okon Okon said, “The prosecution has established its case beyond reasonable doubt. The confession of the accused and the corroborating evidence leaves no room for doubt.”

During the trial, a witness testified, “He had always threatened to deal with his elder brother, claiming he was the reason he couldn’t succeed in life.”

In a unanimous decision delivered on Thursday, a five-member panel of justices led by Justice Mohammed Garba dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo, describing it as lacking in merit.

The apex court ruled that Ighodalo failed to present credible and admissible evidence to support his claim that the election was fraught with irregularities such as over-voting and non-compliance with the Electoral Act.

“The Appellant did not satisfactorily discharge the burden of proof placed on him by the law,” the Supreme Court held.

It noted that most of the documents tendered by the PDP were not demonstrated through relevant witnesses, especially in relation to the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines, and were merely dumped before the tribunal.

Ighodalo had approached the Supreme Court after both the Edo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal and the Court of Appeal upheld Okpebholo’s victory, insisting that the election results were manipulated in favor of the APC.

However, the Supreme Court upheld the earlier judgments, stating that the lower courts acted within the law and evidence presented.

Governor Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), having polled 291,667 votes against Ighodalo’s 247,655.

The group warned against politicizing the process and urged pro-Biafra agitators to support the initiative with restraint and unity.

The group also called on President Tinubu to take decisive action. “Do what is just and right for the sake of posterity. The opportunity exists to embed your legacy in the hearts of Nigerians, particularly the Igbo people, through the release of Nnamdi Kanu,” the statement added.

The group affirmed that no conditions would be attached to Kanu’s release, emphasizing it as a step toward national unity.

She recounted the singer’s struggles with law enforcement, mental health challenges, and complications in his personal relationships.

Speaking in a recent interview with controversial online activist VeryDarkMan, Dominica painted a vivid picture of Mohbad’s final years, alleging that the singer suffered brutal treatment during an encounter with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and struggled mentally afterward.

Dominica claimed she met the singer through her then-boyfriend, a close friend of Mohbad. She recalled that on the day of the well-known NDLEA raid, she, her boyfriend, Mohbad, and the singer’s partner, Wunmi, were all at a residence in Victoria Island when they received word that Marlian Music artiste Zinoleesky had been taken into custody.

She said they all rushed to the Marlian house, only to find the property cordoned off by NDLEA officers. According to her, Mohbad managed to find a way into the compound and urged her to start a live broadcast to draw public attention.

Dominica claimed the scene soon went out of control.

“Mohbad told us to enter his car and followed the NDLEA bus to the estate gate. They started shooting and rammed his car three times. He jumped out in anger and began exchanging blows. They beat him badly with the butt of their rifles and forced him into their van while he was bleeding,” she said.

She said the singer was released later that same day, reportedly because of a scheduled performance in Dubai, but the toll on his health was apparent.

“After the NDLEA incident, he was hospitalized and later taken to Aro for mental health treatment because he constantly complained about his head,” she added.

Dominica went further, leveling fresh accusations against Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi. She claimed Wunmi used laughing gas and made disturbing phone calls to Naira Marley, telling him that Mohbad’s family posed a threat to his life.

“Wunmi shared private family matters with Naira Marley in hopes of getting help,” she alleged, adding that a UK-based doctor had offered to treat Mohbad abroad for six months. However, things allegedly took a twist when Wunmi shifted blame to Dominica’s former partner.

She said Mohbad’s mental health remained fragile even after he was discharged from the psychiatric facility. According to her, his parents later brought in a nurse to help manage his condition at home.

Dominica also addressed the viral video in which Mohbad said, “If I die, it is Naira Marley,” insisting the singer was not in a stable state of mind at the time it was recorded. She further claimed another video of Mohbad warning Wunmi that her family would never know peace if he died was actually filmed in 2022 and only leaked after his passing.

Adding to her claims, she said Wunmi once contacted Naira Marley to report that Bella Shmurda, one of Mohbad’s closest friends, had offered the singer hard substances.

While prosecution counsel M.O. Arumemi urged court to convict and sentence them to jail.

Meanwhile, Justice Isyaka sentenced Udochukwu and Badamasi to two years imprisonment each or a N300,000 fine.

They also forfeited their mobile phones, Huawei Y6 Pro 2020 and iPhone 7, respectively, to the federal government.

Usman received a five-year sentence with an option of a N200,000 fine and forfeiture of an iPhone 13.

Chinedu was also sentenced to five years or a N150,000 fine. His iPhone 16 Pro, iPad Pro, and $500 were ordered forfeited.

“Acting on credible intelligence, the operatives, drawn from tactical units and Divisions within the Oyigbo Area Command, in collaboration with OSPAC local vigilante groups were swiftly mobilized to the suspected kidnappers’ den at Agbo-Nchia Forest.

“The kidnappers on sighting the Police Operatives, opened fire on them and there was exchange of fire but due to superior firing power of the Police, the kidnappers abandoned the victim and fled with gunshot wounds,” she added.

The statement further noted: “The victim’s HP Laptop and Redmi Phone were recovered, along with two Android Phones and a Smart Wrist Watch suspected to belong to the kidnappers.

“The victim was rescued unhurt and has been debriefed and reunited with his family.

“The exhibits are currently in Police custody, while concerted efforts are being made to apprehend the fleeing members of the gang.”

Meanwhile, the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, reassured the public of the command’s continued commitment to protecting lives and property.

He also appealed to residents to assist security agencies by reporting anyone found with suspicious gunshot wounds to the nearest police station.

“This is no longer about gullibility; this is about people being systematically manipulated and robbed under the pretense of digital finance,” he said. He noted that CBEX alone defrauded Nigerians of over ₦1.3 trillion.

He added, “We cannot stand by and watch our citizens plunge into poverty and despair due to regulatory silence and loopholes. The Central Bank, SEC, and other agencies must do more.”

Abiru further lamented that previous schemes like MMM and MBA Forex left a trail of destruction.

“Many victims fell into depression. Some lost their entire life savings, and sadly, a few took their own lives. We owe it to them and millions of others to act decisively.”

Senate President Godswill Akpabio supported the motion, sharing his own experience: “I was once a victim in the 1990s. These scams are not new, but the scale and digital disguise they now wear make them even more dangerous.”

Akpabio urged the joint committees to “conduct thorough public hearings, engage all stakeholders, and submit a robust report within four weeks.”

Kemity also revealed that the father of her first child died under tragic circumstances after returning to Nigeria from Malaysia.

“The father of my first child was killed in a Nigeria hotel after he returned from Malaysia. He didn’t inform me or anyone when he came back to Nigeria. I just received a call that he was found dead and when we got to the scene, we only saw 300 dollars with him. We believed the money he returned with was stolen before we got there. That is how I became a widow,” she said.

The actress lamented being unfairly judged by people who know little about her past.

“I was trolled for having two children for different fathers. People don’t really know how it happened. It is not my wish or intentions to leave my husband,” she said.

Recalling how she met the father of her second child, Kemity explained that their relationship started while she was undergoing computer training, and they had a court wedding before things fell apart.

“I met the father of my second child when I was doing computer training. I had a court wedding with him, but we started having misunderstanding over his extra marital affairs after I got pregnant for him. I later left him when he told me that his Alfa told him that he cannot be successful except he separates from me,” she narrated.

The victims, aged between 21 and 26, were said to have been trafficked from Benue and Rivers States and forced into sex work under inhumane conditions.

According to NAPTIP’s spokesperson on Wednesday, Vincent Adekoye, the raid took place at a popular hotel in Katsina where the women were confined in a small room while the traffickers relaxed in a more luxurious section of the premises.

“They were deceived, recruited, trafficked, and forced into prostitution,” the statement read.

The victims narrated harrowing experiences, detailing how they were misled with false job offers. One victim said, “She promised to give us a job and that we would be paid very well… when we got here, she introduced us to prostitution.”

“We sleep with at least 20 men a day, and all the money goes to the chairlady, Amarachi. Even during our period or when we’re sick, we are forced to work. They give us Fearless energy drink every evening to keep us going.”

NAPTIP also detained the hotel manager and two other staff members for allegedly aiding the traffickers. The agency is now pursuing legal action against the establishment.

Reacting, NAPTIP’s Director-General, Binta Adamu Bello, condemned the exploitation, calling the operation “painful and sad.” She warned, “The law shall definitely take its course. We’ve begun legal processes to deal with the hotel.”

She also emphasized ongoing efforts to crack down on trafficking networks, especially within hotels and motor parks, saying, “Operators of hospitality establishments aiding human traffickers will be held accountable.”

During a stakeholders’ meeting in Ibadan on Wednesday, the Oyo State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr. Adeniran Tella, revealed that of the 272,196 registered voters in the constituency, only 217,980 have collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

“There will be no additional PVC collection before the bye-election,” he clarified, urging registered voters to check their status in advance.

Dr. Tella confirmed that “non-sensitive materials are already in our custody, and the BVAS machines are currently being activated,” to ensure proper voter accreditation. He assured stakeholders that sensitive materials would be delivered on time.

Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Oyo, Adegbenro Fagbemi, appealed to INEC to maintain its neutrality.

“We charge INEC to be transparent and impartial. Security should be taken seriously; isolated elections can easily become tense,” he warned.

“Let this election be a model for others to follow,” Fagbemi added.

Bimbo recalled a particular incident at a movie premiere where she played the lead role. Her stylist had done multiple fittings in the presence of the friend. When she asked the friend what she planned to wear, the response was vague—only for the friend to show up in the exact same dress, just in a different colour.

“One day, I had a premiere to attend, it was a movie I was in, and I played the lead role. My stylist had done fittings for me, like twice, in the presence of this friend. I had asked her what she was going to wear, and she was like, ‘I don’t even know, maybe I’d just look casual chic.’ I responded with, ‘Just look good, you can’t be my friend and look drab.’ I got my makeup done, hair done, everything done. It was time to wear my dress. Tell me why Aunty pulled out the same exact dress I was wearing in another colour. In all honesty, I didn’t really mind,” she stated.

According to Bimbo, her sister raised concerns at the time, warning her that the friend’s actions were disrespectful. Though she initially brushed it off, Bimbo soon noticed a pattern—the friend constantly tried to look better than her at every outing, and all at her expense.

“It was as if something woke up in her that day. For every event we attended, she’d always want to dress or look more expensive (which I didn’t mind) ON MY TAB,” she added.

The turning point came when Bimbo fell ill and didn’t hear from the friend for months. Realizing the relationship had become one-sided, she decided to cut ties.

“Then one day, I fell sick. Days turned to weeks, weeks to months, I didn’t see this Aunty. So I took my L and cut her off,” she explained.

What followed was even more shocking. The actress revealed that the friend created a fake Instagram page to troll her and even attempted to sabotage her romantic relationship.

“Tell me why this daughter of Jezebel created a fake page on IG and started trolling me and sending messages to my boyfriend at the time saying all sorts. The craziest part, she even tried to link up with him romantically,” she revealed.
