My First Giant

Chips, pizza, guys and beer. We were ready to watch the final, and I was ready to watch something my brother just explained to me for the first time ever.

I got more and more into the game, and it was getting loud. We were winning, loosing and then the key moment came when a Giant player catch the ball just before getting thrown out the field by two Patriot players...The ghost of Victory was in the air.

Finally, the 2nd touchdown came and I almost fell out of my chair, when I saw that Giant player sitting down while scoring; and that was weird, funny and exciting. Afterwards, running the clock wasn't easy, that says wether we deserve to win or not, but the Giants were alert and took hope to a dream come true.

It was refreshing to get into something new, and the adrenaline can catch anyone. As a proud New Yorker one is always amazed at finding great things everyday. But to find the whole city rocking altogether after years its simply inspiring, and that sets a good start for the year for all of us.

Sharing is caring, and everyone should show their love at 11am tomorrow in Times Square for the parade. After all as a loyal fan you earned it. Go Giants!

Kinky and Some Cat

So the other day I was at one of the Remezcla events, for those of you who don't know it yet Remezcla.com is an all latino guide for arts and events in the main cities of the US including New York. At this event they had some nice DJ's and hear this, 2! not 1 but 2 free beers!! yes! you only had to Rsvp, and to tell you the truth at these times were we are all broke those 2 beers were an oasis.

Anyway, Kinky was the main attraction of the night, I had only heard like 1 song on MTV latino a long time ago, when MTV was not 3 but latino. I was going along with my friend Jess, who knows a lot about music so I trusted her. First up was "Like some Cat from Japan" an electronic psychedelic pop band, pretty impressive I must say, and some of the lyrics if not all, were in english (smart move if you ask me). Found myself dancing to their music, it was definitely old school electronic influenced, yet many factors made it refreshing. The beats they were making were not at all predictable, but they were well blended, and these guys were just humble because they knew when to stop. In food terms, because I like to compare everything with food and other many things, I would say it wasn't some expensive and complicated thing, but it was one of those traditional, simple dishes cooked the best way possible by the best chef.

I really hope they make it far because these guys definitely have something to offer, too bad the audience was just latino, which is pretty small. Should they try to play perhaps in Brooklyn at a low price and I'm sure they would be loved down there, at least to keep expanding among musically thirsty kids.

Ok back to Kinky, what is Kinky anyway? I loved the name already and I was waiting to see if it deserved to be called like that. One, two songs not bad really but I was still waiting for something else. Yes it was rock, it had a mexican flavor and then... third and fourth songs loovedd them, and then the fifth song played and it was just amazing. So it was 3 songs in a row that I loved, after that you can just sit back and trust the band. I let myself go and realized that they were not only great musicians but they were charismatic and the public was showing them love, in fact two girls did it all to jump on the stage, too bad I couldn't take a pic of that...

Kinky Kinky I feel Kinky, and you will too when you hear them, the trumpet, the cowboy bass player, the accordion and the visuals take you out of the ordinary, good ingredients I must say. They know what they want, are naughty yet simple and let go. I know many of you don't know spanish but hey! just think of it as another instrument because the music is just too good to be missed for that one little detail.

What is all this mess?!... Have you ever stop to look closely to a mess rather than just be disgusted by it? A mess can tell you how much is going on in a room, kitchen or even bed. I find it amazing, specially just right after it all has happened, there's just so many shapes and colors to look at besides the simple story it could tell, what happened first? how did the knife end that in that position? is there a dog around? were you reading something? perhaps drinking? or today maybe you just don't care...therefore a big mess!

A mess from my point of view can be a good or a bad thing, generally speaking. Your whole life can be a fun mess, or a tragic mess...and you can blow up the word higher until you reach society or even religion. Maybe someone messed you up, in a good way hopefully and changed your whole perspective of things for the better... The universe itself could be a perfect mess, in the meantime I've decided to explore closer to my own mess and answer the questions of the mini cosmos in my table.

It came to my attention the other day that I found myself listening "ready to start" too many times. Well most of you already know this song, but it needed like a red pepper or something. Then it occurred to me to raise the volume every time the singing is paused, because that pause has a way of announcing something big. And I realized that I needed more pump at those exact moments. Why? because it felt delicious.

Basically this song has many sounds going on, all at the same time, but it's all very synchronized and with great rhythm, yet it didn't exactly felt like there was something to add or subtract. And then what? you start messing around with the other options left and I narrowed it down to the humble but powerful "volume". Have you tried something like this before? If you just tried this, did you like it? Or #3: you don't like this song at all.
