Birthday Trip 2013 : Things We Did and Eat in Siam Reap, Cambodia

My birthday celebration ended with a surprise birthday trip. HB already has something up his sleeve earlier when he reminded me to apply for leave, pack some clothes and the most important is the passport cos we will fly into a country, once it was the centre of the ancient kingdom of the Khmer. To be precisely, is Cambodia!

He has chosen Siam Reap - the Great Gate to Angkor for my birthday getaway.

Upon touching down at the Siam Reap International Airport and having to clear the immigration & custom, HB already got the airport transfer arranged with the boutique hotel - Villa Kiara

The boutique hotel provides complimentary 'tuk tuk' service to town. Checking out the Pub Street in Siam Reap, a highly commercialized street flooded with tourists.

It was the Khmer's New Year Celebration when we were there!(Cambodian New Year:14 April - 16 April)

We started to look out for street food. The most common type of delicacy found on the street.

Num Pang (Cambodia Sandwich which is similar to Banh Mi) - the baguette stuffed with sliced pork, did you spot the roast pork?, cucumber and pickled carrots.

Look out for something more filling..Mi Char!

Mi Char, the local fried instant noodles that comes with my favorite 'telur goreng' (fried egg).

I need some sweetness to balance back the saltiness in my mouth.

I requested for Chocolate Banana Pancake..Best to eat it when it is still hot.

We made a special discovery and the boy is excited!

The vendor is selling 'Pong Tia Koon' - the Cambodian Balut. I have heard and read so much of balut but never seen it in my life. Now, I do!

My legs get wobbly as she cracked the eggs....

I was so skeptical despite HB assured me it tasted like chicken soup...Hmmmp! Nibbled the white and some of the duck and it sent a chill down my spine.

We walked in to a souvenir shop to keep our tradition going. To post each of us a postcard as our souvenir.

I just received it last week. It took more than 3 weeks!

**Touching moment**When we got back to the hotel, I was presented with another huge surprise, pre-arranged by HB. He got the hotel staff to make a Cambodia birthday cake and they sang me a birthday song which completed my birthday celebration in Siam Reap!

Hello Kitty McDonalds 2013 Collection fever is finally overed. I have them ALL!

The Hello Kitty 2013 Collection by McDonalds is overed. I did not intend to collect all four except the Ronald McDonalds Hello Kitty. Nevertheless, HB has purchased all four for me.

First is the Hamburglar Hello Kitty....which is also special and represents one of the McDs characters according to him which I can't agree more with that.

Followed by Grimace Hello Kitty. I did not remove the wrapper because that was how it originally came because he bought it at a different outlet.

We had lunch at McDs when Birdie came out. That's when I got the chance to hold it first. Birdie Hello Kitty in pink color. So sweet!

Last but not least, the one I wanted the most. Have dinner with HB and the kids. He bought one for my kids and one for me. Now it has completed the collection and all of them are in my possesion. Ronald McDonald Hello Kitty...why you are the last one?

Did anyone collect all these? Did you manage to get all four?

What I got for Mother's Day?

I was away to Bangkok on Mother's Day. The girls were not able to celebrate with me but they called up to wish me.**touch** When I got back home, I have a surprise gift from big E.

Hmmmp...she is getting smarter nowadays. She wanted to give me a surprise...ehh**Heart beating very fast** Can't wait to open it.

Tadaaa.....Two little eggs consisting of a badge and some coins. I always appreciate her kind thought and effort to do something sweet like this for me. It means lots to me..

I don't get it why she gave me those coins so I asked her. The innocent little girl replied that she is afraid I will not have enough money to buy things. Ahhhh....this little girl of mine. **ruffled her hair**

A bit late though, but I still want to wish all bravo & great moms a very HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY.

BANGKOK : OUR UNSUAL BREAKFAST - PORK SANDWICH & INSECTS

Just came back from Bangkok last night on Lufthansa Airline. It was my very first time flying with this German airline. It is a good airline and I will like to fly with them again.

It was a night flight and that's what we got for our in-flight meal.

By the time we touched down The City That Never Sleeps - Bangkok, it's close to midnight. We got the airport transfer service to chauffeur us to check in. While my bestie was dealing with the check in, HB went to the 7-Eleven and get some snacks.
**Local Brand - Sliced Milk Bread @ 7Bht** My fav!

We both always love to check out the local brands whenever we are away from the homeland.
**Ham Mayonaise Cheese Pocket Sandwich @ 14Bht**

These snacks always come in handy whenever we feel like getting something light to eat.
**Sliced Butter Bread @ 7Bht**

Another one of my favorite buns.Hmm..I kind of like their mayo because it tasted like 'kaya'.
**Shredded Pork Mayonnaise Sandwich @ 12Bht**

I fond over it - Simply because it's cute like a small and puffy pillow but edible..LOL!! Best of all, the crust has been taken care off.

One of the mornings, we had our 'unsual' breakfast. Can you spot it? **FYI, the hotel does provide breakfast..winks**

Flying to Bangkok, one can never miss out to shop at NARAYA. HB got me this 2-in 1 pink pouch that works like a coin bag and tissue cover. Thanks dear!

HOMEMADE : SIMPLE POTATO EGG SALAD

I have eaten potato egg salad several times, but never once that slipped into my mind of making one myself. I always thought it may requires tedious steps, but surprising I can have my very own simple version at home.

I might not have the best ingredients, but rest assure is a healthy salad that serves as a comfort appetizer for the night. Hmmph...I remember the first time I made this was for HB's birthday celebration =P

Recipe : Potato Egg Salad

- hard boiled eggs
- potatoes, cooked, peeled and sliced
- salad dressing of your choice
- vinegar
- salt & pepper to taste (optional)
- tomato
- greens of your choice ( i had lettuce & purple cabbage)

Mix all together and chill for 1 hour.

In about 10 hours time, HB and I and my besties will be flying to Bangkok. Will try to update our status via Facebook.

NABISCO Japanese Snack : OREO Soft Cookies

Sorry for the long hiatus...Last weekend, I flew to Sibu with HB for the #GE13. Anyway, it was a short weekend getaway to unwind from the routine schedules. HB wanted to show me this local shop (TA KIONG) that sells imported stuffs. It is pretty interesting to discover some of the imported goods which I have not even seen in KL. He got this OREO Soft Cookies for me. I am pretty sure from the words on the packaging, you know it came from Japan.

A large pack consists of 8 small individually wrapped soft cookies inside, priced at RM9.90.

I am not good in reviewing food, but the closest I can relate to it's a brownie. Not too moist but able to retain its softness and chewy texture of its own. Not forgetting the creamy filling in each single bite!

I find this OREO soft cookies is interesting, but I still prefer the regular Oreo cookies over them.

Ling Cooks : Simple Salted Egg Prawns

I was peeping into mom's fridge and I spotted she has some big prawns stored inside the chiller compartment. Never shamed to ask her to keep a few pieces for me to cook it myself. And she did reserve 8 pieces for me! That's good enough considering the kids especially big E not a huge fan of seafood. I have one salted egg sitting in the small basket and I thought it will be just nice to coat the prawns with salted egg.

I bet you know I hardly opt for deep fry at home. So, how? Simple, fry the prawn one by one (only can do it if you have less than 10 prawns..hahah) I just add enough oil into the wok, fry the prawn one side first, and follow by another side. Probably it only takes 20 seconds per prawn. (Do not over fried it, else you will get a tough prawn)

Recipe : Salted Egg Prawns ( a very simple version of mine)

Ingredients
8 medium large prawns, cleaned and feelers trimmed
1 tbsp corn flour
Dash of pepper
Oil for frying

1 salted egg yolks, steamed and lightly mashed
1 tsp of butter
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp chopped garlic

1) Season the prawns with pepper.
2) Heat enough oil to fry the prawns.
3) Dust the prawns with some corn flour and fry it for 20 seconds.(one side 10 seconds)
4) Heat butter oil in a wok. Add garlic and saute until fragrant.
5) Add in mashed salted egg yolk and stir it constantly till it starts to froth.
6) Return the prawn to the wok and toss to coat the prawns well.

P/s : You can always add in curry leaves or chilli to spice up the flavor. I omitted those since I can't find any at my kitchen =(

FUN EDUCATIONAL TRIP : FARM IN THE CITY - Seri Kembangan

Every weekend, I will look forward to do something fun and interesting with the kids. It is always best to get the kids out from the hustle bustle city especially if they can get closer to nature or perhaps animals! Not wanted to travel too far but within the city will be ideal. That’s when I came across this mini petting zoo called the ‘FARM IN THE CITY’.

Farm In the City is located at Seri Kembangan and it will takes approximately 30 mins drive from KL/PJ.

Proceed to the ticketing counter. Since, we were having 2 adults and 2 children, we are entitled for the special family package, priced at RM99.00.
Family package inclusive:
- Entrance ticket for 2 adults + 2 children
- 2 bottles of Vitagen + 2 packets drinks
- Calendar with Photo Frame
- 2 Certificate of Attendance (for the children)

Petting The World's Smallest Species of Horse..

The kids wanted a pony ride and HB got them the tickets. RM5 per ride.

Note: Pony ride only for children below 12 years old. HB almost wanted to get me a tix for this ride..Issshh

Pretty excited on the horseback riding, even though was a quick one.

It's feeding time. Yes, it can sense the ranger is coming.

I would say the ranger is quite professional, whereby he will explain the facts of the animals.

There is also a feeding time for PELICAN. I think we missed it but it was a great experience by getting so close proximity to these grumpy birds.ahhahaha

I was puzzled when we spotted this gigantic tortoise hiding from the enervating sun**according to HB..**

I reckon this is a cow.LOL!! I was surprised how much it can actually eats. FYI, the food for the animals are free!

Hmmm..the world's smallest species of kangaroo.

The big and the small ones were having fun time catching 'longkang fish'. I thought it was pretty easy to catch them but I was wrong. I failed to get even one fish..hmmmm

We really have lots of fun exploring this conservative park. You may want to consider this as an educational field trip during the weekends or school holidays.

Ling Bakes : Simple Eggless Chocolate Chip Cupcakes

Remember the last time I bought the pre-mix from the bakery shop to make the chocolate chip muffins? Hmmm...this time I attempted to make from the scratch since this recipe is very simple and easy. It probably will only take an hour to get it done.

First attempt was a successful one.Pretty moist and chocolatey. Just becareful and do not over mix, else it will turn out to be slightly firm and dry. That happened when I baked for HB on his birthday on the second attempt...LOL!! Dear, I will bake better next time, k..**winks**

Recipe : Eggless Chocolate Chip Cupcakes **adapted from Batter Baker

Wet Ingredients
125ml milk
50ml oil
1 tbs cocoa powder
1/2 tsp vanilla essence

Dry Ingredients
110g plain flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
70g sugar
90g chocolate chips

Steps:
1) Preheat oven to 190c
1) Warm the milk and dissolve the cocoa powder to release its flavor.Stir in oil and vanilla essence.
2) In a separate bowl, combine all dry ingredients and mix well.
3) Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir till just combined.*Do not overmix*
4) Divide the batter into your desired size of cupcake liners.
5) Bake for 15 min or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.

SkyBus is a convenient and affordable public transport you can choose from upon landing at the Melbourne International Airport. Hop on and enjoy the express service between the airport and City Centre.

You may want to get your ticket first before hop on the SkyBus.

One way, priced at AUD17.

Once the bus drop you at Southern Cross Station, you may want to opt for the Hotel Transfer Service. Just head over to the counter and check with the staff which city accomodation you are checking in.

Then, you will be directed to the shuttle bus for the hotel transfer at no additional cost.

The shuttle bus dropped us right beside the hotel which is located at Swanston Street.

Still cannot believe it that this city accommodation is charging us for AUD680 per night - Rydges Hotel

We then headed out to the convenient store check out for BIG M...I mean the MILK. Which is your choice of flavour?

Hmmm...spotted these cute Cadbury candy. Have you seen this in Malaysia?

Anyway, HB bought these as our breakfast on the go. MARS with Honeycomb is my fav! Kit Kat also very good. Spoil with choices of candy bars.

HB got this Myki at the convenient store as well. It is required for trams and trains. It works similar way like the London Oyster Card.

It's PANDORA! My 30th Birthday Wishes Come True...

I complained to HB I can’t afford to wait even for the few minutes before the clock strikes to 12am (my birthday) because I was so tired and sleepy. I just want to go to bed and have a good sleep. Casually,he just said , “go ahead,dear”.Well, just I was about to go to bed, he surprised me with this giant macaron. Awww… this was my very first time seeing such a huge macaroon and it’s PINK.

**TOUCH**initially, he just wants to get one of this, but in order to entitle for a beautiful box, he has to get 2 giant macaron.

I remember telling him not to get me a cake since I really got a bit satiated with it. I feel grateful for this man really takes every single word I said into his heart**unlike me…I always tend to forget lots of things =(

While I was photographing the delicious macaron, I didn’t realize he walked away and came back with another birthday surprise. It’s hard for me to explain the mixed feeling and high & low emotions..Like riding on a roller coaster that makes my heart beats at an abnormal rate..

I remember telling him I would love to have a bracelet and charms from Pandora some day because it looks so beautiful and appealing. At that time he already wanted to get for me which I have stopped him from doing so. I told him I want to get it myself since it doesn’t come cheap at all.

He told me he only have enough budget to get me this bracelet and not any charms. I replied him it’s always the thought that counts. I feel he was kind of upset when he said my bracelet doesn’t look nice without any charm. I try my very best to assure him the bracelet itself is the greatest gift I ever wished for. While holding on my bracelet, I asked him, “Aren’t you suppose to wear this for me?” He said he will but he walked off. Hmmmm….

Without breaking the ritual,I started to take pic of my beautiful pressie. Just about then, he came back with another Pandora’s paper bag which is nicely tied up with a yellow ribbon. Another moment of adrenalin rush which makes me burst into tears***malunya...go hide***I opened up and he said, “dear, the bracelet is not nice without a charm. There goes your very first charm and the pink heart best symbolic his love for the one he loves.**heart melting moment**

Feeling so excited and happy like a little girl getting her very first lollipop, she can’t stop photographing the sweet heart which she has grabbed tightly in her hand.*the feeling is just like holding on to a person she loved as tight as she could**

I thought I have cool down myself from the cloud 9 moment, but he came back with another surprise. I told him I almost can’t breathe and ask him if this is the last one? And he said ‘yes’.hahaha

He told me that it happened when he met a friend at Pandora, suggested him to get this safety pins. This is one of the latest 2013 collections of this chain, which has cherry blossom engraved on it, acts like a stopper to prevent the charms falling off, in case the clasp accidentally coming open up by itself. Hmmm…he is also a very meticulous person. **winks**

Ok..no more surprise. Can go sleep already..ahahhahah.Oh no…We did not sleep because we only left about 2 hours to get to the airport. We have to catch our flight to Cambodia! That’s another birthday surprise trip arranged by him. He just asked me to pack some clothes and most important is my PASSPORT. Thanks dear, for everything you have arranged and done for me. I wish to let you know this is one of my greatest and truly remarkable birthday celebrations I ever had. It’s happening because of you who came to my life. You bring hope and happiness to me. On top of that, I feel grateful for you will never forget I always have the two pillars in my life and you put them as one of your priorities too. Hugs….

30th Birthday Celebration with lots of Surprises...

30th Birthday indeed is the beginning to a new chapter of life. I had never expected a smooth journey in fact; life has never been easy but with the little hope and faith I believed in, I will continue to embrace and cherish every single things (be good or bad) that comes along the way.

PINK is the color of romance and happiness and that's why HB has chosen this for me.

As darkness approaches and you can't seems to find the LIGHT, there's always another comforting way out. ~~Candy Crush~~ Sugar Rush!!

I just came back from Cambodia last night, which was an awesome and unforgetable birthday trip arranged by HB. Thanks dear!

I will blog more about my birthday celebration once I have finished sorting out the photos.

Before we went to bed last night, big E requested for bed time story. Well, Elise was still at downstairs at that time so she missed it.hahah.

Me: Arggh..my neck is sore and stiff**rubbing my neck**

Big E: Are you ok mami? What happen? Do you want to read the book for me?

Me: Yes, I m ok.I twisted my neck when I did some house chores just now. No worries, we can go ahead.
**Big E came over and 'karate' my neck**

Me: Thanks dear. I m fine, no worries. Lie down and enjoy the story,ok.

Big E: How about me getting the ointment for you?

Me: No thanks, dear. I lazy to rub and my hand will get oily and sticky.

Big E: I can do it for you,mami.

Me : Thanks dear. Likewise, I do not want your hands to have the weird smell since you are going to bed soon.

Big E: Ok mami..Hope you will be ok tomorrow. Selamat Malam...Good Night..Wan An

Me: Good night, Selamat Malam, Wan An.

Sometimes, she can be very rebellious but it's always the sweet gesture that touches my heart and overcome the sorrow.

This morning, I decided to make something for her. Hmmmm....Later, I will surprise her with this key chain (fav character) and a simple message card. Hope I can brighten up her day.

LOCAL COFFEES and DELISH Ayam Goreng Rempah at CHAWAN,Citta Mall

HB: Where do you want to eat?

ME: Hmmm...Let's check out around the place first. Ooo..How about this, CHAWAN? Sounds like a Japanese restaurant **craving for Japanese food** But Japanese food is expensive. Don't want to spend so much on food, tonight. Preferable below RM50**calculative mode**

HB : Errrmmm..Doesn't look like a Japanese restaurant. More like a typical establishment that serves Malaysian food.

ME: Sounds good either! I am pretty sure our dinner will cost less than RM50 provided you don't over-order..ahhahaha

HB: FROWNING**

I was kind of surprise to discover this place has a wide range of local coffees to offer. After browsing through the menu with lots of 'alien names'(type of coffees) I reckon he had 'Kapal Api'.
ME: took a sip** Ermmm...it's good!

HB: Of course. I ordered the milk shake,priced at RM7

ME: Ooo..no wonder it is so nice. WTF! Most likely our bill will cost more than RM50. U know, it's my MONEY!

ME : Out of so many names, why they must named it Chawan - very misleading though.

HB : Dear, if you take out the H, it becomes CAWAN (means cup). Now,doesn't it sounds like our native language?

ME : **PERIOD**

We thought the 'Ayam Goreng Rempah' was pretty delicious and well marinated. It was served piping hot because they only fried it upon ordering, which explains why it takes a longer time to serve.

HB had 'Tomato Rice with Ayam Rempah'. Despite the chicken was pipping hot, but the rice was not even warm. I guess that's the downside of it =(

WORDLESS MONDAY : THE COLOR OF SWEETNESS

Every one has their own perspective. It's always too much to ask or convince them to look at a different angle. SELF REMINDER: I just have to put myself in their shoes whenever possible and let the time speaks for them and myself. New Furniture

If you are my friend and have been following my Facebook updates, you'll realize that I'm now embarking on a new chapter in life. Although it seems to be a positive change, but the path is not as easy as every one thought.. I couldn't ask for more, except perhaps, getting rid of the old stuff and furnitures at home which is a constant reminder of those old chapter of life.

Call me crazy, but sometimes, when you're embarking in a new journey in life, you'd not only want your life to be completely different so that you can forget the past and look forward to the wonderful future ahead, but you'd also want to redecorate your home so that it'll be a completely new and fresh environment to live in too.

I intend to give my house a makeover. Getting a new set of sofa or couch for the living room is a good start, don't you think? I spotted plenty of exquisite-looking designer furniture from HomeQ a couple of days ago and I thought they're just perfect for my new makeover project.

TRAVEL : Our First Night in Melbourne

Still remember vividly, the first night when we reached Tullamarine Airport, Melbourne and hop on a yellow taxi driven by an Indian/Sri Lankan (i reckon is the latter one) had given me an adrenalin rush.I thought I would have died in Melbourne. Thank goodness, we survived!

I would not say it was a horrible experience, albeit this was my very first time being to Melbourne. Instead, we should feel proud by putting ourselves in one of the movie scenes, 'Fast and Furious'.**except we don't get a sexy Mustang but THIS! I don't think this is recommended for drifting.

The cost of the crazy ride was AUD15 (discount given = RISK, AUD5 because he couldn't make change)Well, I couldn't agree more with HB, at least we managed to reach the motel with all of our appendages more less intact.

I was not surprised when there was no one at the reception considering the time when we reached was pretty late already. No worries..Just reach the pay phone and dial the number given. Hmmm...the PIC has gone out. Guess what? He actually went out to pick up the passengers from the same flight as ours!! And we actually missed out the complimentary service simply because we could not locate motel shuttle.

It was a smooth check in and the staff is very kind and meeting most of our requests. He even got us free WIFI for an hour.

Couldn't believe it that a small motel even have a jacuzzi.

We did not utilize the spa, though.

Probably, I have been to HK twice and I never really enjoyed the rooms there (unless you go for more stars). At CILOMS, we paid for AUD130++ / night and getting such a cozy room and huge bathroom (me.. very obsessive about bathroom..ahahha), I don't even mind sleeping in the jacuzzi..LOL!!

And the next morning, we hop on the motel shuttle back to the Melbourne International Airport to catch a SkyBus to CBD, Melbourne.

From Tullamarine Airport to CBD, Melbourne, the journey will take about 20 mins. And we had our first breakfast in the town.

Ling Cooks : Spaghetti Bolognese with Fried Fish Cake

I used to be very excited when the kids are having their break during the school holidays. The main reason is I don't need to wake up so early .*giggles**Well, it happened last week the kids were taking one week break from their busy routine and I thought it would be more relaxing during the entire week. Fuhh..I was totally wrong. There were some changes to Elise's tuition schedule which I had to send her to class every night (for the entire week), instead of twice a week.I ran like a headless chicken and almost choke to death due to the tight schedule. Thank goodness,the entire week still went smoothly.

Initially, I also plan to cook more often during this school holidays but I never really had the chance to do since I was busy chauffeuring them around. Most of the time, we have to settle for outside food which I don't really like it especially it is not cheap to dine out nowadays. I still prefer to cook at home when time permits. The other day, I had the feeling that I can no longer tolerate with outside food, so I took an hour to make this.

Don't expect me to come out with homemade tomato sauce within an hour. The best I could have found inside the kitchen cabinet is the Prego Tomato Sauce. The spaghetti will take about 15 min to cook. While, the spaghetti is cooking, I quickly shaped the fish paste into a ball shape and pan fried it using my Happy Call Pan. Very less oil used**healthy mode** Finally, heat up the tomato sauce using a saucepan.That's our dinner on the go. I packed it for small E to eat in the car to prevent her stomach from growling.

When time allows, actually I don't mind cooking every day ( except Sat & Sun = rest days) provided I have a meal plan template. Yea, sounds very high tech, huh? My very FIRST POST CARD from Phillip Island, Vic, Australia

I don't remember if I have ever received any post cards from friends but definitely not from Australia. I remember before we left the Penguins Parade @ Phillip Island, we actually spent a couple of minutes at the souvenir shop,and that's when I spotted this huge red mail box! I was a bit inquisitive if we can actually use it for mailing. To kill my curiosity, I went to check with the friendly staff and it was a YES!**jumping up with joy** Best of all, they even sell stamps which is an extra bonus.

I told HB I wanted to send a post card back to Malaysia as a remembrance. **Again to proof that we have came to Phillip Island for the Penguin Parade.**period** ahaha. I got him one postcard and likewise.

Pen down some notes. I warned him not to peek what I have written on the post card until he received it.

P/S: We mailed the post cards out on 18th March 2013. And I received it on 25th March 2013. Exactly one week!

I Bought some Second Hand Stuffs!

It was happened the other day, I was at Citta Mall. Being the typical kiasu aunty, I went for window shopping to kill my time. While I was walking around, HAH! I got attracted to this shop.

At first I didn't notice it is actually a second hand shop, in fact I thought it is just a normal fashion boutique.

As I browsed around, I notice the clothes are pretty cheap and I thought it must be something wrong with my eyes. So, I went to clarify my doubt with the staff and only realized it is a second hand shop! Duhhh..

Then, I also found out from the staff that this shop is actually runs by a church and all the funds shall go to CHARITY.

The BLESS SHOP which is located at CITTA Mall (First Floor)

Since there is an opportunity for me to give back to the community, I got myself a windbreaker (simply because it has pink color!), 2 pieces of tops and a toy for the girls. And that RM80 as the contribution went to the charity.

How do you keep Chips Crunchy?

How do you normally keep/store chips if you are unable to finish it? Hmmm....What do I normally do is using a rubber band and have the package tied up (just like how the ah neh at mamak stall pack your dal curry)... Or find an air tight container to store it. What if both also not available, especially at the office?

Easy...chuck it in the fridge. I did that to pop corns as well. It really works!! Your chips or pop corns will still remain the crunchiness!

Goshhh...I am still struggling to finish this pack of chips given by HB probably 3 weeks ago? Shit! I think he gonna take up a candy bar and fling it to my head.

I just came back from Melbourne for a short vacation. If you have been following my FB,I am pretty sure you know my life has somehow changed. It has truly been a blessing in my life with supportive and loving friends around me because they know they do not need an explanation or statement from me. Thank you!

I feel blessed because someone came to my life and enlighten me. I had never thought of giving a second chance to my life...to be HAPPY again...to crawl out from my comfort zone. I don't know what I have done in the past for me to deserve this but I will take it as a challenge and appreciate whatever that comes around me.

**At Flinders Street Station - located at the corner of Flinders and Swanston streets in Melbourne. According to Wiki, it was the first railway station in an Australian city.

Long story cut short, I ll just randomly blog about the things we do in Melbourne instead of starting from day 1. My personal tour guide HB insisted I must try the kangaroo meat in order to prove that I have been to Australia **period**Initially, our plan was to dine in a restaurant which serves kangaroo meat but I was skeptical about my palate. If I can't take it, then it will be a waste of $$$.

At the end, my personal tour guide whom is also the chef decided to cook for me. Hah! Guess what? We found kangaroo meat at Coles. Best part, it is marinated! Just need to throw inside the oven and let it do the job. Well, he doesn't really need to cook after all.....

So, that's how the kangaroo meat turned out to be. Taste wise, I can only relate it to a liver. A very gamey taste.It's real, I have eaten kangaroo meat!

To be on a safer side, I requested to get this roasted chicken. Haizz...why la both the photos look so obscene.

Cannot survive without greens..Simple Salad with Balsamic Vinegar.

You wouldn't believe it, that we got this Frozen Mussels marinated in white wine sauce for 50c only! Minus the prawns, mushroom and macadamia nuts.That was the extra we chuck in.

My very first time tasted a kiwi berry. Love the sweetness of this berry.

I don't buy raspberry in Malaysia because I think the price is a bit ridiculous.

I will eat as many as I can....

By the time we are done with the cleaning, we realized that we only have 2 hours to sleep before catching the early flight. Pity my personal chef..**pat pat shoulder**

Sometimes, I think I am the lousiest partner who is still surviving in this earth. I don't always get things right,and when it doesn't seems to be right, I will turn things into a disaster. Thanks for your kind patience and understanding all the while.

My mom always stressed the importance of drinking milk to me when I was growing up. I don't think I liked it all that much growing up (would always sneak off and drink other stuff haha) but it's a good thing that my mom force me to drink it until I have the habit now.

I'm a full time working mom so it's hard for me sometimes to juggle everything and the kids to boot. I never regretted it though coz Big E and Little E will always do little things that makes me smile and be glad I have my two darlings.

Interesting fact: Research shows that 9/10 growing up children don't get a balanced diet in Malaysia.

This was based on a dietary study done by University Putra Malaysia (UPM) and International Medical University (IMU) – the two biggest and best research universities in the country. That's a lot of children! 1 out of every 10 children in the 1-3 years old, 4-6 years old, and 7-10 years old categories. This is after the stats has been adjusted for racial distribution in line with Malaysians and the sample comes from different socio-economic groups so it's a fair indicator.

Big E and Little E comes into the latter two so this is important to me too.

I always think it's nice to introduce new flavors for them since I want them to get used to different kinds of food and drink when they're young so they can be more accepting of different cuisines and have a more adventurous palate when they grow up.

My two little monsters angels were at school when I went to KidZania on Thursday. Dumex just launched their new product – Mamil All 'n One!
