I wanted to share this peek into the author Henry Miller’s bathroom to honor the energy of tonight’s Scorpio full moon. As with any full moon, the event may be happening tonight but it’s influence colors our actions and thoughts over the next 2 weeks until the New Moon.

I always assumed he was a Scorpio — his sun sign is actually Capricorn, the wise old goat! But he has a significant conjunction, a pile-up of the planets Uranus, Mars, and the Moon in Scorpio in his house of relationships, influencing his dealings with others, especially significant partners.

Here he gives a lushly narrated tour of his inner sanctum. I’ve been lucky enough to have viewed the studios, bedrooms and private inner walls of some Scorpio friends — like a decaying museum of sexual/spiritual inspiration all held in reverent awe, where the primal caveman leaves his or her mark of an intensely lived life.

The planet Pluto is going retrograde (backwards) in the sky from April 3 to September 11. Pluto is in the sign of Capricorn and has been since this whole “Recession” era began in November. Pluto accelerates the death of the old, outworn, and unnecessary so that something new and better can take it’s place. It’s almost the Full Moon — can you feel it? The moon will be officially full, Tuesday, March 10 at 10:38pm EST although it’s influence will continue to be felt over the next couple of weeks until the New Moon. While meditating upon the energy of the moon, I imagined this scenario:

the test of time

A teenager who has been “grounded” or put on “restriction,” lured by the glamour of what the night could bring — jumping out the window to escape, defying the rules.

You might feel like that teenager right now, feeling the tension of opposites that the full moon always brings. Something is stopping you, forcing you to go over the details, making you deal with practical matters — your “Old Man.” However, in this case it’s not so easy to just “jump out the window” and run away from responsibility. Getting immersed in the routine of running your everyday life feels safe — a way to keep busy, to stave off fears and fantasies about what the future may bring.

I posted this image of the Hanged Man tarot card because people have such a strong reaction to it — it’s SCARY. I have a hard time explaining to them that there’s actually a positive side to this card. Even though he is upside-down, it’s not all about being hung-up.

This is exactly the position that many of us find ourselves in when society is being turned on it’s head. After all of the valuables fall out of his pockets, there is still something left. If you don’t lose faith at the last-minute you might find out what that treasure really is.
