Summertime = bare legs.  Bare legs = better lotion.  I’ve recently gotten into Alba Botanica.  It’s expensive as hell, but well worth it – full of emollients and alpha hydroxy somesuches.  I share these things because I care about the reduction of ash in our communities.   Truly.

Also, I’ve been raving about how awesome this nail polish is.  It is THE PERFECT nude.

Chambray shirt + white denim + lady pumps.  This could be my new uniform for the next forever.

Also, Azealia Banks has infected my brain with her music.  My surrender hands are all the way up and we’re already best friends in my mind.

Speaking of surrender, I didn’t hold out long when these Zhon Meeshell Cazabat pumps hit the general market.  I ordered my size only to find that these run HELLA SMALL.  Like, a size and a half HELLA SMALL.  I was debating on whether or not to get them stretched since they’d mostly sold out where I bought them when I saw that Gilt was having a JM Cazabat flash sale.  That included these.  At a hefty discount.

Ask me how long it took me to pack up those other joints to return them.

The answer is 23 minutes.  And I was listening to this the entire time.  I’m listening to it now.  Probably will be tomorrow, too.

I wasn’t exaggerating when I called these the perfect pumps.  They are perfect.  Right down to the little red velvet hearts that come stuffed in the toes.  LOVE.

After years of wear destroyed the lower half of my favorite jeans, I salvaged the top half and made a pair of shorts with a respectable inseam length.  I have no idea how girls put on something with 1″ of material below the crotch and then walk outside of the house.  I’m sure I never will.

Also, it’s been nearly two years since I bought these shoes; I think it’s safe to say the novelty didn’t quite wear off.

I think it’s done best in a traditional silhouette (loafers on the right).  Even better in a not-so-traditional color (Kors lovelies on the left).  The texture adds depth and dimension that leather, suede, and various classes of man-made materials cannot achieve.  As such, they’re the perfect outfit punctuation – that whole “classic done slightly askew” thing I keep mentioning over and over (and over).

I think it bears repeating ’cause baby, if it’s right, it’s RIGHT.  I’m here to tell you that a standby pump gone wild with pony hair is right.  It is SO.RIGHT.

Note: I once saw Ryan Gosling at the Umami Burger in Hollywood (this was the same day I also  saw ?uestLove and Jason Bentley within 10 minutes of seeing Ryan Gosling).  He was with two other guys, blond, oddly tall and muscular.  I openly admitted to the two friends I was with that I wanted to lick his face.  I should have done it. WHEN AM I GOING TO HAVE THAT CHANCE AGAIN?

In other news, I’ve largely left Twitter in favor of Pinterest because people don’t talk nearly as much on Pinterest.  Twitter is totally harshing my mellow, man.

Also, I’m probably the last to read it, but Anthony Kiedis’s autobiography is just…just amazing.

I don’t really have instagram.  Fake it ’til you make it, right?

Actually, I’m not sure I want to “make it” to instagram.  Something tells me that people have no interest in seeing heavily filtered photos of the more exciting parts of my day – the messes the boy makes spitting out his various purees.  That seems more fit for tumblr.  I’d call it “FuckYeahBabyPurees” and it would be full of vintage looking pictures of purees on my shirt and couch and table.  There would also be .gifs of the kid making silly faces and knocking spoons out of my hand.

I have no intentions of creating this tumblr, but it sounds hilarious.

There is an unwritten rule on the blog that if I post about something enough times, I inevitably end up with it (I refer to the snake print pants from H&M).  They’re supposed to be 3% elastine.  I’m not sure where that 3% is but it definitely isn’t where I need it.

Note to self: always wear a long shirt with these pants to guard against potentially embarrassing seam rippage.
