Brisa – Auto-estradas de Portugal was created in 1972. In four decades it has become one of the largest tolled motorway operators in the world and the largest transport infrastructure company in Portugal.

Today, Brisa has a market capitalisation around to 3 000 million euros and its shares are quoted on Euronext Lisbon, where it is part of the main index, the PSI-20. It is also part of Euronext 100 – an index which includes the largest companies in France, Holland, Belgium and Portugal – and the FTSE4Good, the reference index for social responsibility.

Brisa’s main business area is the construction and operation of tolled motorways, both through direct investments in Portugal, as well as through its national and international subsidiaries.

Turkcell

GSM-based mobile communication started in Turkey when Turkcell started its operations in February 1994. Turkcell signed a 25-year GSM license contract on April 27, 1998 with the Ministry of Transportation of Turkey. Since then, it has continuously increased the variety of its services based on mobile audio and data communication, its quality levels and as a result, number of subscribers. As of September 30, 2010, Turkcell has made 9.5 billion US dollars worth of investment (including 2G and 3G licenses) in Turkey. Again as of September 30, 2010, with its 33.9 million subscribers, Turkcell is not only the leading operator in Turkey, but is also the third biggest GSM operator in Europe in terms of subscriber numbers.

Turkcell’s shares have been traded on Istanbul Stock Exchange (IMKB) and New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) since July 11, 2000 and it is the first and only Turkish company ever to be listed on NYSE.

Airbus

Airbus is one of the world’s leading aircraft manufacturers, and it consistently captures approximately half or more of all orders for airliners with more than 100 seats.

Airbus’ mission is to provide the aircraft best suited to the market’s needs and to support these aircraft with the highest quality of service. The Airbus jetliner product line comprises 14 aircraft models, from the 100-seat single-aisle A318 jetliner to the 525-seat A380 – which is the largest civil airliner in service.

As of 30 June 2010, combined orders for Airbus single-aisle and widebody jetliners totaled more than 9,600 with over 6,200 aircraft delivered to customers worldwide.

Airbus also has expanded into the military transport aircraft sector. The A400M multi-role military airlifter – being produced under management of the Airbus Military company – will replace ageing fleets of C-130 Hercules and C-160 Transalls. In addition, aerial tankers for in-flight refueling and transport missions are flying variants derived from the A310 and A330.
