In an effort to seemingly better understand and treat trauma, addiction, and obsession, a med-tech company called Liminal-Neuro runs psychological tests on various subjects by administering an experimental drug labeled "Neuro Veil."

When these experiments fail, a radiant ancient female entity known as “The Veil” materializes, embodying the subject’s most intimate desires. This manipulative force brings out the worst in her victims and incites unimaginable horror.

Undeterred by ethics, Liminal-Neuro's lead doctor makes it his mission to find her…

This story could certainly serve as the plotline for an epic sci-fi horror mini-series or even some actual news headline. However, it plays out in captivating fashion on Glasswaves’ full-length debut LP, while(True). The Rochester, NY trio set the narrative's action to a soundtrack electrified by bursts of cathartic metalcore, shockwaves of ethereal hard rock, and spasms of vulnerable dark pop.

Coupled with big screen-worthy storytelling, the collective, which formed in 2023 and steadily built a following through singles, an EP, and touring, instantly strike a chord on multiple levels.

"People will see things happening and choose not to do anything, because it’s easier than taking action,” explains Miller. "Developments like A.I. data centers deplete natural resources, but nobody seems to care. 'The Veil' represents this sort of selfishness. Even though the company Liminal Neuro promises to get rid of your fears and worries and empower you to become the person you want to be, the doctors are merely using everyone just to find 'The Veil.'"

Rather than explaining where they have been, FLOYA let the music speak for itself. It's a lush, vocal-forward track that cycles masterfully through a course of quiet-loud dynamics. Strap yourself in; this one's an emotional thrill ride that will connect with fans of Deftones, Loathe, and Dayseeker.

"'Last of Me' was an emotional challenge for me," explains Owls. "I had so much I wanted to say, but I really pushed to keep it clear and honest without feeling wordy or cheesy. It's about finally breaking free from a toxic relationship and recognizing the grip it had on you for so long. There’s a lot of weight behind that realization, but also a sense of release. I truly hope this song helps people find the strength to let go, move forward, and start healing."

The origin story of SAVE US and how the globally-based band came together is quite simple. Back in 2023, Owls was regularly posting covers on social media and quietly cultivating a following online. Hailing from the Central Valley of California, he never expected to find his future bandmates in his DMs. Bristol, UK-based Biddiscombe stumbled upon one of the vocalist's Architects covers and sent a message on TikTok. Clicking right away, they commenced creating music (despite over 5,000 miles between them). Due to a factory day job from 1pm-9:30pm, Owls typically woke up at 5am in order to write with Chris and Benji before work. Prior to meeting in-person, the trio had remotely recorded a few tracks. Eventually, the singer crossed the pond to shoot the visual for "Distance" from their LUCID EP. Reacting with listeners, the track clocked north of 2.6 million Spotify streams. The group maintained their momentum with 2024's EXIST EP. A year later, they inked a deal with Solid State and decamped to Michigan where they recorded with sought-after producer and The Plot In You mastermind Landon Tewers.

Ultimately, the band's name reflects their shared experience.

"Chris and Benji were both ready to stop doing music," Owls reveals. "I was in the same boat. We were all on the edge of letting our dreams go. Out of nowhere, we found each other, went all the way in together, and the band genuinely saved us. We're always dabbling in emotion, so our goal is to reach you on a human level."

Mission accomplished on Death To Something, which in all actuality, brought the band members back to life.

VICTORIA LIES Gives You A Sweet Taste of "Truth and Sugar"

Calgary’s cinematic metalcore force Victoria Lies are giving fans a sweet taste of "Truth and Sugar", the third single from their upcoming debut full‑length "Vendetta," due out on October 30th, 2026 via Black Cat Records. The track follows the explosive momentum of earlier singles “Weaving Webs” and “Red,” each revealing a different facet of the band’s genre‑bending identity and the dark, evolving universe at the heart of "Vendetta."

“Truth and Sugar” marks a pivotal moment in the concept album’s narrative, showcasing Victoria, the story’s central character, now hardened, confident, and far from finished. Vocalist Brett Hetherington crafted the track as a duet, intentionally spotlighting the guest vocals from Ari Grey to heighten the emotional tension and expand the sonic palette.

“I really enjoyed writing the lyrics to this song; it was a new challenge for me as I had never written a song that had two lead singers before… This song follows our current‑day Victoria now that she has some experience and confidence. She is far from finished,” adds Brett.

Musically, “Truth and Sugar” continues the band’s commitment to pushing beyond metalcore conventions, melding groove, atmosphere, and theatrical storytelling into a track that feels both intimate and explosive.

With "Vendetta," Victoria Lies aims to deliver a fully immersive experience, blending choreography, narrative arcs, and genre‑bending compositions. The album moves between crushing heaviness and reflective moments, all tied together by the evolving mythology of Victoria’s world. The eleven‑track concept album, produced by the band and Scott Bennett, explores themes of abuse of power, violence against women, personal trauma, and revenge, all woven into a cinematic metalcore framework. The band blends melodic metalcore, groove metal, and experimental elements, trap beats, pop influences, even saxophone, to create a sound that is unmistakably their own.

Guitarist Rory Fitzsimmons describes the album’s purpose:

“I wanted to create something that, when you hear it, you know that you are in Victoria’s universe. We are trying to give the listener something new, not just screaming at them for 5 minutes a song for 10 songs; we want to take the listener on a journey with no shortage of twists and turns."

And bassist Jay Powell adds:

“Each of the singles off this album is very different. While they are all very good on their own, each single opens the door to a certain side of the band’s sound.”

Victoria Lies is a Canadian metalcore band known for merging theatrical storytelling with heavy, groove‑driven music. Formed in 2023, the lineup features Brett Hetherington (vocals), James Cuncanon (drums), Chris Koehler (guitar), Rory Fitzsimmons (guitar), and Jay Powell (bass). Their live shows incorporate props, choreography, and a dancer portraying Victoria, bringing the album’s narrative to life on stage.

The band has performed across Alberta, including Calgary, Drumheller, Lethbridge, and Edmonton, and appeared at Gatorfest II and Decimate Metalfest.

REPENTANCE Release Tribute Video to Shaun Glass; "Fade Into Silence" Out Now!

Chicago -based metal act REPENTANCE has released a deeply personal tribute to the band’s founding member Shaun Glass with a brand-new video for "Fade Into Silence". The track, which is featured on the band’s upcoming third studio album "Retaliate", is out now and you can watch it BELOW!

Shaun Glass, the founding member and driving force behind REPENTANCE, passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2026. Following his tragic death, the band decided to postpone the release of "Retaliate" from its originally scheduled summer release to November 27, out of respect for their brother, friend, and bandmate.

Vocalist Adam Gilley comments: "We decided that 'Fade Into Silence' would be the next single from the record because we wanted to dedicate this release to Shaun Glass. Of all the songs on the record, 'Fade Into Silence' just felt like the perfect song to honor him - especially because it was a song that Shaun himself wrote.

His unexpected passing has left a major hole in our hearts and in this band. Shaun wasn’t just a bandmate or a friend; he was our brother. He was the one who created this band and helped give it its identity, and he was deeply loved by everyone of us. It’s difficult to put into words what his loss means to us, and things will never quite be the same without him.

This song now carries a meaning we never expected it to have. Every note is a reminder of Shaun, his creativity, his passion, and everything he gave to this band. We’re proud to dedicate 'Fade Into Silence' to our brother and friend, Shaun Glass. His music, his influence, and his memory will always be a part of us. Rest easy, Shaun. This one is for you."

Shaun Glass spent more than four decades shaping the Chicago metal scene and was a driving force behind influential bands including Terminal Death, Sindrome, Broken Hope, SOiL, Dirge Within, The Bloodline, and, most recently, REPENTANCE. Throughout his career, he shared stages with some of the biggest names in metal and left behind a lasting musical legacy that continues to resonate with fans around the world.

Formed in 2018, REPENTANCE have built their sound around crushing groove metal, technical precision and uncompromising intensity. Following their debut album God For A Day (2020), the band signed with Noble Demon and released the EP Volume I - Reborn (2021), introducing vocalist Adam Gilley to the fold. Their sophomore album The Process of Human Demise (2023) further established their modern take on groove metal and thrash.

Now, "Retaliate" will arrive on November 27, 2026, via Noble Demon. Produced by Alex Lackner at Accelerated Sound and mixed by Ari Mihalopoulos at Inner Light Studio, the album marks another chapter in the band's story - one that will now forever be connected to the legacy of its founder.

"Fade Into Silence" is more than just a new single. It is a final musical tribute to Shaun Glass, carrying his creativity and spirit forward through the band he created.
