The National Institute of Standards and Technology will hold its 34th Time and Frequency Metrology Seminar June 2-5 2009 at NIST Boulder Laboratories in Boulder, Colorado.

The largest military navigation conference of the year will take place at the Wyndham Orlando Resort in Orlando, Florida.  This year's theme is "Military Navigation Technology: The Foundation for Military Ops."

The 17th International Conference on Integrated Navigation Systems will take place in St. Petersburg, Russia from May 25 to May 27, 2009.

The annual event has become a traditional meeting place for scientists and engineers involved in navigation, motion control and guidance for land, aerospace and marine civil applications.

The leader of the conference working group is Margarita V. Grishina.

The conference is organized by Elektropribor, the state research center of Russia.

The theme of the 2009 IAG Scientific Assembly is "Geodesy for Planet Earth." It will take place at the Intercontinental Buenos Aires Hotel in the historic district of Montserrat from August 31 to September 4.

This year, the International Symposium on GPS/GNSS, which rotates throughout the Asia-Pacific region, will take place in semitropical Jeju, Korea's only island province, November 4 to 6, 2009.

The sixth international symposium on Location Based Services and TeleCartography (map-based LBS) will be held at the Centre for Geospatial Sciences at the University of Nottinham from September 2 to 4, 2009. The deadline for submission of full technical papers is May 30, 2009.

Highlights include outdoor and indoor LBS Showcases.  The committee will select the most innovative for live demonstration and the audience will vote for their favorite. The deadline for Showcase submissions is June 30.

Positionale, an international trade fair for the  satellite positioning, navigation and telematics industry, will take place at the New Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre (at the airport) from May 18 to 20, 2010.

The European Navigation Conference 2009 is now underway at Parthenope University in Naples, Italy.

In the opening session on Monday, May 4, the chief engineer for the GPS Wing told the audience that the new L5 demonstration signal transmitted by GPS IIR-20(M) had been experiencing problems and apparently interfering with L1 and L2 legacy signals. Lt. Col. David Goldstein said the Air Force will not launch any more satellites until the cause has been discovered and fixed. 

The MMT'09 will take place on the Campus of Presidente Prudente, UNESP, Sao Paulo, Brazil from July 21 to July 24, 2009. The theme is "Mobile Mapping Serving the Information Society."
