It’s been a few months since I last had a look at kraptalk to see what was going on. So I thought I’d have a look in to see if there’s still life. I came across this pathetic begging from Dunk. It’s obvious he can’t get in new members these days so he’ll have to squeeze out more from those who already have been sucked in years ago and still haven’t woken up to the fact that it’s all a scam.

For some time KOPTALK has been struggling to advance due a lack of revenue that we can invest in to the website and the things that we try to offer. I have spoken about this openly on here and tried different things to generate revenue while fighting back increasing the 10p-a-day membership fee that I think we’ve had in place for more than a decade.

The problem is that over that time period, our costs have grown significantly and we now have to pay VAT and increased income tax which we have absorbed. For example, the VAT fee that we have to pay on memberships, we pay this, we don’t add it on top of the £36.50 annual fee as we should. We do this so you don’t have to pay more. With VAT and taxes come additional accountancy and admin fees. With popularity becomes more problems.

Our position is for the first time in almost 20 years now under threat and we really need to find a solution.

We find ourselves having to run promotions more frequently which gives us a quick cash injection at any one time but long term we lose that renewing revenue. Without the promotion we ran in the summer, we could never have invested in the new office that I’m working from. It’s not flash, it’s just a few desks and more space, it’s not even finished, but it was needed to provide a better experience for you or that is my intentions anyway. We also ran a Crowdfunder that enabled me to purchase a new computer, my first in 8 years. We have done a couple of things and are still finalising them.

Nobody that works on the site, me included, receives a wage and never has (other than our accountant and former VIP columnists i.e. former Reds, who were paid). This doesn’t mean that there are no benefits. The site covers my household bills but that is it. In winter it doesn’t even stretch that far which is why you saw a Black Friday promotion which was not successful, hence this post. Yesterday for example the site made £8.75 in revenue. In the summer it could be ten times that which is why you see investment over the summer usually. However, over the course of the year, we do break even but it does not generate enough revenue to improve anything. Truth be told I’d be better off doing other things but I love what we have here.

Here’s an example of what needs addressing. The following is required and/or held up:

* iPhone app – broken … never updated since first version, no longer compatible, we need a new app

* Android app – no revenue to build

* KopTalk.co.uk non-members website – broken, we need a new site, Google now applying penalties i.e. decreasing ad revenue, dropping down search results

* KopTalk.com members website – needs updating, developer been waiting for go ahead but we don’t have the revenue

* KopTalk.co.uk/forums (free forums) – broken, haven’t been able to accept new registrations for several years – no funds for the developer

We just can never find the revenue to proceed. We are stuck in a vicious circle. We need revenue to improve these things which will then generate more revenue. Does that make sense?

We’ve raked up debts close to £10,000. 40% to 50% of that we will try to reduce between June and September 2016.

I launched DKB.TV to try and create another revenue stream and that has helped but only in terms of covering internet access each month and a couple of very small purchases have been made e.g. HTC Re Camera for Melwood Raw videos.

The members’ website obviously has zero advertising and we want it to remain that way.

Pride takes a hit when being open like this but you are our family and it’s important that you know what’s happening.

We have been looking at various options but we have struggled to agree on what to do. If we start selling ourself out on the non-members website then we lose our independence. We want to keep our membership fee at 10p-a-day to help you guys.

We could run monthly Crowdfunders but we think people would get tired of this and we hate having to promote such. One a year is maybe acceptable but no more. We also considered a newsletter delivered by post but this would take up more time and we’re not sure people would jump to have that due to today’s online world.

There is no way that the members’ website will go under so your membership will always be safe here but we have to plan ahead. We need our own 5 year plan that we often hear managers talking of!

I am happy getting by personally. I have a nice home and a nice car. I’m not really bothered about fancy holidays and even when I’ve been away, I work on KopTalk daily anyway. KopTalk is my life. I’m here every day of my life from dawn until dusk, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I don’t want or need much. I just want to get on with it.

However, I have to find a way of raising revenue to cover the investment of fixing the broken things listed above and to take the site forward. As I don’t have a partner or any other help, it’s a huge struggle for me personally.

Having held talks here this morning, we don’t think seeking donations will help. People rightfully want something back but we want to avoid a monthly Crowdfunder for example.

We think we need to raise a minimum of £500-a-month purely for investment in to the site. This means nobody benefits personally but the people who support it.

I should point out that we do not remove any member who falls on hard times. We pay their membership and in some cases other members do. We try to help where we can. We don’t just take and many can vouch for this.

One thing we considered was launching a 100 Club (KopTalk 100 Legends Club). This would be for 100 members donating £50 a year on top of their sub. In return we would run a monthly prize draw for the 100 club (e.g. £25 Amazon vouchers, free memberships etc) and a weekly Lotto syndicate based on the UK lottery. We thought of creating a KopTalk 100 Legends Club forum and listing the supporting members across the site. Nothing will of course be taken from the members’ website ever. We would still fall short of our £500-a-month target but I’m not even convinced that many people will help us. I know they would if they could frown

If that idea failed then we will have no choice but to increase the membership fee. The downside to that is way me lose people. If people desert us then we’ll plod on until we have to turn the lights off when everyone’s subs eventually expire. Problem solved. I can finally kick back and be a grandad.

Having to sell off some of my LFC memorabilia on eBay recently is a sign that I can’t continue to ignore this and just plod on. We have to fix the things that are broken. I’ve considered selling my car and even moving to a smaller home but I think that’s starting to take this passion a bit too far then. When you are feeling it that much, it’s time for change.

I’m told our membership numbers stay around the same so we’re not losing people. We just don’t seem to progress. We’ve plateaued. A quick look at the non-members website and you can see why.

I guarantee that the members website will continue to operate while I’m breathing. Some of you probably don’t care about these issues, but I know that we have a very, very loyal bunch who love KopTalk due to the comments I receive every daily via support and to myself. I know they’d be wounded if we packed up shop one day.

I’m not going to sell a chunk of the website because people want to exploit you with their products and harvest your data. This is my baby and she will tick over until I kick the bucket. Then, well I hope Rob will take over it, if not, it will be handed over to our members, this is something that I plan to discuss with some of you in due course as to how that could work.

OK SO WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?

1) Stay with the members’ website! Without you we’re stuffed. So many people rely on your presence, especially the non-members, our fans all over the world. You make a difference trust me!

2) Find me someone who is stinking rich!

3) Can we promote your business to our members? We have never had sponsors, maybe we need to look at that?

4) Email sensible ideas or words of encouragement to dunk @ koptalk.com because I feel a bit stupid right now

5) Join our KopTalk 100 Legends Club and see if we can make that work. If it bombs, we will honour those who take part and then we’ll have to increase the membership sub at a later date and see what happens then. If we got 100 signed up, we would be safe until the summer and then the revenue picks up. Everyone can track the progress via the thread at the bottom of the page.

You can join using the PayPal button below or by emailing support @ koptalk.com

A separate post has been added (see link below) which will list the KopTalk Legends and their allocated number for the monthly draws etc. We will also find a way of having some kind of badge or title assigned to your membership profile / avatar when we upgrade this site. I think we can already assign ‘KopTalk Legend’ on this current set-up so people will see your status and importance to the future development of the site.

Just throwing the dice guys … we have no idea how you will react. Don’t forget your support helps members and non-members. We are one family.

I’ve also added a video below about this.

Dunk

Yesterday it was followed-up by this:

Ok well we haven’t reached 100, or even 50, but we have got 36 of you on board and I want to thank you guys for that. Everyone is important here but the 36 ‘KopTalk Legends’ enabled the members website to be upgraded, the non-members forums to be fixed and upgraded and the non-members website to be re-launched. All of that would have been impossible without those 36 members.

Without the non-members content we will never be able to add new blood to the members website and I think that would be damaging. There is a possibility that the non-members website may be shut down at the end of the year but I will do everything I can to keep her going.

In the summer we will be running a lifetime promo for existing members again. This generates an injection of one-off revenue but also means long term we lose revenue i.e. renewals but it’s satisfying rewarding our die-hard members and at the same time it does help.

That promo will be limited to a set amount and it maybe our last of that kind as long term they don’t help. If all slots are taken up, the site will have dug itself out of a hole without the need of increasing the membership contribution or locking out a number of members who have fallen on bad times who we are covering.

If we fail to meet our revenue target in the summer, the non-members website will close for good. The members website will of course remain until I kick the bucket

Jokes aside … I also need to start to think about life after me. If I keel over today, the site would die too. I’m thinking of forming a group of some kind that would be able to make decisions and manage the site without me so that at the very least you guys could remain together. I’d like my son Rob (16) to be involved but he’s more focused on his own path and I think that’s the best for now. If we had this informal group / board (maybe the 100 Club Members?), KopTalk would never die. How it would be run then would be down to that group and all of you. I’m not sure if this will definitely happen but I’d be saddened to think that KopTalk would die if I died. Miserable stuff (for me, anyway LOL) but it’s important to me. Sorry.

The site remains in the red following improvements, investment and ongoing costs but the members website is perfectly safe as it pays for itself. If the promo in the summer is a success, then 2017 should be perfect. If we can add to the numbers on the 100 Club then eventually I will be able to relaunch the iPhone app, introduce an Android app and have new work friendly skins made for here.

You can learn about the 100 Club below but please note that the post needs updating. I will address that next week when I’m back in my office:

http://www.koptalk.coN/members/ubbthread…gends-club.html

These are the KopTalk legends who have pledged their ongoing additional support for everyone:

http://www.koptalk.coN/members/ubbthread…-remaining.html

I’ll keep you posted on the summer promo which will help you, me and everyone else associated to the site.

Thanks for your valuable and ongoing support. I’m very excited about the forthcoming transfer window and what I’m hoping to see

YNWA

Dunk

PS: A couple of you have previously emailed me with suggestions and feedback. I will reply as soon as I can. I receive a lot of email and I don’t like rushing a reply with a dismissive sentence or two, so please bear with me so that I can reply properly with the time you deserve. Several people have suggested revenue generating schemes etc but I’ve always pledged to keep the members website ad-free. I also don’t want to sell things

A couple of days ago Dunk posted an exclusive news item on his paid koptalk forum. This was as usual promoted on Twitter and Facebook and what not with links to the sign up site joinkoptalk. The news was this: EXCLUSIVE: Liverpool swoop for Premier League ace. With the added info on the front page of koptalk: Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has already started looking at his summer transfer options as he looks to strengthen his squad after failing to do so during the January transfer window.

So, what was this about then? Inside the forum where the full story was posted we could read this:

Football agent Dario Canovi has allegedly held talks with Liverpool as they consider making a summer move for his client Micah Richards.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is a big fan of the 25-year-old Manchester City defender and has identified him as a replacement for big-earner Glen Johnson, unless the 29-year-old agrees to sign a new contract on significanly reduced terms and can shake off his injury problems.

Richards continues to be linked with us on a frequent basis by the British media and a source at the club has now confirmed that there has been contact.

The source said: “Canovi met with people from Napoli and Liverpool last month. He was in Liverpool during the last week of the window to discuss Micah which sparked those reports [in the press at the time, that claimed Rodgers was trying to sign him on loan].

“The initial contact at the agency [that represents Micah] wasn’t Canovi but he has been dealing as he sat with Inter and Napoli before talking to Liverpool. He has a good knowledge of the state of play in Italy with regards the interest in Micah.

“Glen Johnson’s future needs to be resolved first but if City don’t ask for foolish money, then this one should proceed further. Liverpool have spoken to them (City) about a possible deal. There have been talks but it’s a very early stage. These will continue in due course.

“There is no feedback from Richards to date about where he wants to play his football.”

To find out how exclusive this was, I had a look at NewsNow to see if there were other news reports linking Richards to Liverpool, and I found these, all posted before Dunk’s so called EXCLUSIVE:
http://www.itv.com/sport/football/article/2014-02-16/rumours-liverpool-want-man-city-defender-richards-and-keeper-navas-man-united-eye-dortmund-duo/
and several more from around the transfer window closing. Not suprising though is it that some of these reports are suggesting that the source of the latest rumours is the s*n. Wouldn’t exactly be the first time news from there pops up on koptalk as exclusives.

So, what’s exclusive about a rumour that’s printed several other places? Nothing! I think I agree with this koptalk member:

Liverpool FC today announced they have reached an agreement to sign Oussama Assaidi from Heerenveen, subject to the player passing a medical.
http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/reds-agree-deal-for-winger
This transfer came out of the blue as it’s not been mentioned anywhere in the media or on the internet as far as we can see.

The members of koptalk are paying to get information before anyone else, but they never do. Not in this case either. The only mention of the player before the news broke was from a member who mentioned Fulham wanted to sign him and another player more than two months ago. That was all. The imaginary koptalk insiders was nowhere to be seen. If you belive what Dunk says about who his sources are, you have to wonder why they knew nothing about this transfer. Why didn’t Informer pop up with his usual “money is being transfered” shite as he does when a player is looking nailed on to sign in a few days? Last year he was banging on with this for what must have been a month before we actually signed Adam. Every time it looked like it was about to happen he came out with that story. But not now. Not a word. Why is that? The simple answer is; “Dunk didn’t pick this up from the media”.

the only thing i can think of apart from pride, is that if we beat them it is more damage to their chances of CL spot and they can only get it by winning the final , which I dont think they will do. Which will of course effect them money wise and their ability to attract players which is better for us.

Love it, well played by the boys, just a pitty we only do it in the league against the big boys. If KK gets the stick for every loss….. we have to give him praise if we win.

Would love a few more and a cameo from sterling.

They seemed to play completely without fear tonight..the confidence was there throughout. We do seem better against decent sides whereas if the battlers come to Anfield we can’t cope with it!

Anyway, much better and a nice high to end at Anfield.Good to see so many supporters staying behind as well.

Big players for me tonight were Shelvey and of course Andy Carroll. On the downside,Maxi looked like he was off and that’s a good player we could have done to keep.

That’s all. A site with supposedly thousands of members only managing 56 posts in the match thread including a few before and after the match. And that’s not the shortest match thread they’ve had.

Another koptalk member has found the membership fee to be a luxury he can’t afford anymore. This time it’s even a moderator who has done a lot of work on the site for free. So you would expect Dunk to give him a “free ride” for a while until his fortunes turn around and he can afford to pay again. After all, what’s the difference for Dunk if a member leaves or stays for free? Not a penny. God knows his dying site needs to keep those who actually bothers to post.

Here’s the post that appeared a couple of days ago:

I have to leave Koptalk.

We have fallen on hard times recently and I cannot justify spending my subs any longer to this wonderful, wonderful site.

My membership is due to expire later on this month and I’ll be around to use up every last minute of it, as I love it so much I cannot go a day without it….

But once my year is up I’ll be off, and so I thought I’d just sign off here, and thank you all for making Koptalk such a wonderful place to hang out.

I won’t deny there have been times (and even recently) when I get fed up with the doom merchants, but even so it has been an amazing journey, culminating for me in being given MOD status here, which I felt was a real privilege.

So I bid you all adieu and bon voyage for the future as our great club begins at last to recover it’s position at the top.

I only hope my fortunes turn around soon enough for me to rejoin you guys at a later date when we have become successful as a club once again.

Take care, and thanks for all the fish!

So after 7 years membership, lining Dunks pockets with something like £200, moderating the site for free, surely he’s entitled to a little help? Let’s see what Dunks reply to this was:

I’d be gutted to see you go mate. Some people are like family here, it can be a very special place.

I’ve helped out many, many members over the last few years as it’s been a really hard time what with the world going bust. You Brushy would always be someone I’d be here to offer help to.

I’ll do anything to help good people although personally I’m struggling to keep things going as I’ve been living in a hotel since July 10th and that costs up to £52-a-night and that’s before adding things like internet access and food etc. Do the maths… I have no idea how I have sustained it, although some members have helped and a relative has. Flats wanted 6 months up front yet we never knew how long we’d be here…. same applies now, how can I take on a flat when a few days ago they called all the family in? It’s impossible to plan.

We’re hoping that the hotel will offer us a £30-a-night rate from tonight… and so they should after 6 months! But even at £30-a-night that’s still around £900-a-month, not forgetting the usual bills I’m having to pay for my home, even though I can’t live in it.

I will continue to do what I can to help good people but I’m really, really stuck for helping people out myself at the moment. I know that’s not what Brushy was after, I’m just saying that usually I’d be the first to jump in and help.

My priority after mum is ensuring that KopTalk continues to tick over and to put in as much effort as I can. The site has obviously taken a hit but we will bounce back.

I may, in the future, start something new for those who hardcore KopTalk fans. We’ll see.

But Brushy, I don’t think you will be going anywhere else soon mate. We’re family and we help each other out.

YNWA

All he does is talking about himself, and his own situation. What he should have done was telling Brushy that he can stay for now as he’s a valued supporter of the site and is doing an important job as moderator. He fails to do this and just keeps banging on about the costs of living in a hotel in Hull. It has no relevance to Brushy at all.

Those who have followed this blog will have seen Dunk’s claims that he had secured himself financially before the dot com bubble burst, and that he didn’t need the money from koptalk. From time to time he claims poverty, usually when he’s about to launch some money making scam. Then he will again claim to be loaded with money, owning portfolios of houses and so on. He has made videos where he’s sitting in front of the camera waving loads of cash, in an attemt to upset his haterz. You never know with Dunk if he’s minted or broke. The above post suggests the latter though.

In any case, the koptalk signup page states. ALL REVENUE RE-INVESTED INTO THE SITE and The site is not run to make any kind of profit, we simply need to pay the costs in providing the website. So the costs of a b&b in Hull shouldn’t have any bearing on koptalk memberships. It’s completely unrelated. It’s not like anyone is asking Dunk to pay their membership either, is it? As said above, wether Brushy stays for free or goes it makes no difference in income for koptalk. With the above rant about the costs of living in a b&b in Hull, I wonder what his members think about the new iPhone 4s he just bought his girlfriend. Isn’t it about £500 for the cheapest version? How many koptalk memberships is that?

The so-called inside information on koptalk is getting more embarrassing by the day as the transfers doesn’t go through even though The_Informer said money was about to be moved more than two weeks ago. More than three weeks ago Informer expected LFC to agree a fee for another player as Henderson was about to be signed:

Posts: 158 It seems that Liverpool hope to agree a transfer fee for another English player today based on a memo that I have seen this morning.

Money for Henderson hasn’t left yet but that should be sorted by 4 pm. Henderson wasn’t at Melwood early morning.

Comolli was negotiating with Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham City last night for Jones and Dann and is still talking to Ipswich about Wickham.

Disregard claims that Manchester United are winning the race to sign any of our targets. Every player that we are negotiating for wants to move to Liverpool.

Substantial money is available for further expenditure. Once the long term targets have been secured you will see Comolli turn to Europe.

Notice the edit from the original post in our comments.

This post was made as the media was claiming Jones was at Melwood for a medical. SkyBet even suspended betting on the transfer, but as it later emerged, he was actually on his way to manure. Dunk didn’t want to be caught out though so he, sorry Informer, tried to be clever and get the news out early. Too early it seems, and he spent the best part of that day to try to talk himself out of that error.

Less than a week later rumours again prompted Dunk/Informer to post. There were several rumours doing the rounds though, so he couldn’t be quite sure what was about to happen. The rumours was all about english based players though so that narrowed it down a bit and he came up with this:

#853262 – June 13, 2011 13:13 funds + medical
Liverpool are preparing to move money. This won’t happen today as a deadline has passed for this to happen. It should happen tomorrow or Wednesday. Expect a medical later in the week if papers stamped tonight. £5 million advance, U.K. account.

His follow-up showed he didn’t know what was happening:

I never know the name of players when money is exchanging hands. I only get the destinations. There are no papers to see yet so I know that it this deal hasn’t been agreed. Because of procedure I know something is imminent. I know it’s a U.K. destination and not outside the U.K. because of the currency and the fact it’s not going into a holding account.

So. More than two weeks ago money was about to be moved, and something was imminent. But nothing happened. The twitter rumour mill was just that, rumours. The Adam rumours wouldn’t go away though, and claims that the transfer was close made Dunk confident that he could expand a bit further so he came up with this:

I previously mentioned that the club were preparing to transfer an advance payment in relation to an imminent player transfer agreement. That agreement did not within the time frame that I expected which isn’t unusual, but the money is earmarked for Blackpool. I don’t think it can go today but I am very confident that it will go ahead. The club would not move money unless they were absolutely certain that a transfer was proceeding. I have never seen anything advance to this stage and then be cancelled off.

Two weeks later, the transfer that was supposed to be imminent, and which the club was moving money for, still hasn’t gone through. A couple of days ago the local media in Blackpool said Adam had told the club he wanted to join Liverpool. And would you belive it? Informer resurfaced:

“I had a conversation with the chairman (Karl Oyston) but that will remain private.
“It’s important that we keep everything in-house – whatever happens will happen.”

So, once again Dunks attempts to be clever and try to predict what the future holds, passing it off as inside information, has backfired. We’ve shown you, our readers, time and time again that this is how Dunk works. Still there are hundreds off gullible koptalk members who believe everything they are told by Dunk and his imaginary insiders. Every time they come out with these lies there are dozens of arse-licking replies thanking for the information. Why don’t they demand answers as to why the things they’ve been told turns out to be wrong? Well, there are a few who does, but they are always shot down in flames by the gullible mob. Every time someone tries to raise the subject they’re told “How can you question Informer/wallet/Ranter/Dunk with their proven track record.” But what that proven track record is noone knows. It’s just something they say. Ask them what koptalk and it’s insiders was first to reveal, and they’ll have no clue what to say. It’s like a cult in there. And by the looks of it most of them have committed mass suicide as the forums are dead quiet compared to sites with similar number of members. Even sites with a lot less members are way more active than koptalk these days. The sad thing is that most of the members are only there to read the inside information, but they don’t realize it’s made-up or stolen from other sites. And this is what they pay £36,5 a year for.

There have been rumours going around the internet at various times that Liverpool are interested in signing Jordan Henderson from Sunderland. About a week ago it emerged again as rumours started circulating on twitter that Liverpool was in for Henderson, and even some rumours we had made a bid and had it accepted. One koptalk member posted this in the forums, but the thread was closed swiftly by Dunk, saying members should not post info from twitter. He also dismissed the rumours and said “Liverpool are not negotiating with the player’s club today. Liverpool have scouted the player several times but today’s claims are untrue and should be dismissed at this time.”

Later that night Tony Barrett and James Ducker (Times journos) ran a story about Liverpools interest in Henderson and Dunk changed his tune. 20 minutes after a members posted it on koptalk Dunk came up with this:

#846298 – June 01, 2011 23:38 Jordan Henderson will cost £20million insist Sunderland

Sunderland have told Liverpool that they will have to cough up £20million to sign Jordan Henderson.

Liverpool’s director of football Damien Comolli has made an enquiry about the availability of the player but as we reported on Wednesday, there has been no formal bid and certainly no agreement, as had been suggested.

The 20-year-old midfielder – who has represented England at various levels – has been scouted by the Reds several times in the past and we believe our interest in him is genuine, but we can’t see us meeting Sunderland’s valuation, that will have to come down to enable a deal to proceed.

Meanwhile, KOPTALK understands that Liverpool have still not given up on signing Ashley Young despite the media suggesting that he will opt to sign for Manchester United.

So from dismissing it as twitter rumours he now suddenly believes the interest is genuine. Why didn’t he say so 11 hours earlier?

A few days later a member reminded Dunk about a post from early November where Dunk tried to put out news from the media as an Exclusive. We covered the lie in a comment back then. Now Dunk is trying to pull it off as inside info again on the members site and twitter.

Yesterday Dunk rolled out the infamous Informer to tell his members what they could have been reading in the media for days:

#848436 – June 06, 2011 09:50 Henderson fee agreed
The_Informer
The fee was agreed last night in principle. Talks will continue today regarding the downpayment figure, bonuses and other contractual matters. Liverpool still not given permission to talk to him.

No mention of the transfer fee, but just in case the rumours come off and Liverpool actually sign Henderson, it would be nice to have made the claim. The timing is good because Henderson is off to play for England U-21, and the deal could be concluded before he’s off. Koptalk can then claim to have had inside info on the deal. He tried the same with Suarez back in Januray. It backfired then as both clubs confirmed they were still negotiating a full week after koptalk “sources” confirmed that the transfer fee was agreed. Will he be luckier this time around?

Despite claims of thousands and thousands of members paying 36.50 GBP each, koptalk and duncan oldham have resorted to old tricks of conning Liverpool fans to pay for his latest venture, the koptalk iPhone app.

http://www.koptalkblog.coN/2011/02/liverpool-fc-news-iphone-app-update/

What Dunk wont ever tell anyone is how much the project cost and never will he keep a public tab on who donated what and how much money he actually accepted. It smells of his cousin Lauren and the Alder Hey collections where no final amount, though suspected to be in the thousands could ever be accounted for.

It’s classic duncan oldham. Goes off to America with his fiance at the expense of his members and comes back to them with a begging bowl to pay for the app, claiming he cant afford the project
There is no shame in the man, He even wants his members to believe that someone donated 1500 GBP for the app just because he is a good guy and the off-chance the bait will be taken by other members for a contribution.

What will a koptalk app offer anyone that you cant already get for free from Twitter ? Almost everything dunk posts today is recycled from Twitter. If Dunk has all this so-called insider information, how come not one Liverpool Football journalist follows him, not one ? Tony Barrett, Tony Evans, Chris Bascombe, Brian Reade, Ben Thornley to mention a few are all easily accessible on twitter, just ask any one of them their thoughts about duncan oldham and koptalk.

Save your money or do the very bare minimum of doing your homework before you part with any cash.

Following from the sexist remarks by Andy Gray and Richard Keys about the female linesman that was officiating at the last LFC match, Dunk shows his true feelings about the issue. Needless to say, loads of koptalkers didn’t think much of it, and I believe quite a few are reconsidering their membership of the site. One of our top search hit phrases today is “how to cancel koptalk membership”. If you are one of those who are looking for that information, look at the paypal-post in the top menu or send me an email. So what did Dunk say?

Here’s the editorial he put out today:

#797191 – January 24, 2011 10:55 Andy Gray and Richard Keys are right Dunk
Andy Gray and Richard Keys are right, women should be at home in the kitchen preparing a hot meal for their partners when they return from the match and not running the line at Premier League football games.

If they want to be involved then they should officiate women’s football fixtures. Why have they got to stick their nose into our game?

Sian Massey, the female linesman (that was deliberate BTW) at the centre of the controversial debate between Gray and Keys, isn’t the hottest chick that we’ll ever see running the line and truth be told, I think I have bigger man boobs, but I’m sure there were plenty of men behind her in the stands that most definitely still would have (use your imagination here).

Men are animals and while the football would have been the priority, every straight guy at the match with some lead in their pencil would have been asking themselves the same question. ‘Would she get it?‘

Now if she’d had a decent rack, and they’d been juggling around while she ran the line, that would definitely have put me off the game. It would have been a distraction and I challenge any hot blooded male to tell me that they wouldn’t have had the odd peak? Yup, you see, you took your eye off the game, this is my point.

I do believe that some women, the minority of course, do understand the rules of football etc and Sian Massey will be able to do her job as good as many man, I really do believe that. But that doesn’t mean that I want to see split arses officiating the game.

I don’t mind women going to the games providing they are accompanying a male partner. I’ve taken plenty of birds to the games over the years but only for company. It used to be a long drive down the A64 and M62 and someone had to lean into the McDonalds drive-through window.

Whatever happened to the female commentator on Match Of The Day? Is she still around? God she used to do my head in. She was even worse than Jonathan Pearce.

I don’t like women officiating games, I don’t like women commentating on games and I don’t like women anchoring football programmes.

And as for Karen Brady, for someone who bangs on about sexism, she certainly knows how to dress like a woman, she knows how to catch the male eye. I’m not complaining of course but she’s no fool. She’s certainly taken advantage of the fact that she’s a good looking woman and I’ve yet to see her dress down to look like a librarian.

Of course some of my words in this editorial are tongue-in-cheek to try and get a bite but I do believe that Andy Gray and Richard Keys are entitled to their views. To me it was nothing more than male banter, male bravado, just like how us guys criticise women drivers. Us guys talk a lot of sh*t when we’re together, we continually try to impress one another.

Do I oppose of women officiating men’s football? Yes I do but that’s because I think they should stick to women’s football. I have no problem with women attending games providing they’re prepared to do the pie run at half time.

Am I sexist? Well I guess people will say so, but away from men’s football, I have no problem with female police officers, female firefighters, female soldiers etc. If I’m sexist because I would prefer men to officiate the men’s game (notice I said the men’s game and not football), then so be it.

If this sh*te is all we’ve got to worry about then there’s something seriously wrong.

YNWA

Duncan Oldham
KopTalk.coN

From start to end it’s a tirade of sexist remarks. Make no mistake. This is not just an attempt to stir the pot. This is Duncan Oldhams true feelings about women. It’s not the first time he’s used phrases like “split-arses”, and it’s not the first time he’s making it known he thinks women should stay in the kitchen. This is what you get for £36,5 a year when signing up for koptalk. Last year it was racism, this time around it’s sexism. What will be next?

Thankfully there are still a few decent members on koptalk who is standing up agains stuf like this. Dunk doesn’t care though and tries to laugh it off when they are critical. We can only hope they will se the light and leave the site. If they haven’t noticed by now that all you get on koptalk is lies and stolen news, then maybe this will make them rethink why they’re paying for a membership.

Let’s have a look at some of the comments from the members:

Are we living in the 21st century or the first?

Sian Massey did her job a lot better than most linesman do week in week out, allowing our goal when a lot would have panicked and given it offside.

But because she doesn’t have a d*ck, she shouldn’t be doing the job? I would love to get Gray, Keys, or Dunk for that matter to run the line in a Premier League match and see how they get on. Maybe then they’d have a bit more respect.

I’ll say it again, seeing as they last one was locked.

Would love to see Gray, Keys or Dunk run the line in a Premier League match and see how they get on.

All Keys and Gray have done is put her under massive pressure in every game she plays. Wouldn’t blame her if she quit now. But its only a woman, so her quitting a job she clearly loves is fine isn’t it, she can “always go back to the kitchen”.

Like someone else said, this is supposed to be a football forum. Its the most exciting time for the club in ages, we look to be signing some half decent players for once, so do we really need the pot stirring? There were about 80 people looking at the transfers forum at 8 am this morning ffs – its not like the site needs the traffic.

Interesting that we’ve never seen the pot stirred about something like how asian people can’t play football, or how gays shouldn’t be allowed in the game. Like most bullies I guess they only pick on people who are smaller than them.

The new Equality Act comes in today (October 1 2010), and all of you with employees or providing goods or services to the public need to be aware of the changes to previous legislation.

These measures are obviously there to help protect minority groups and those who are discriminated against, which is unarguably good for our society as a whole, but the very unfortunate reality is that increasing protection for them inevitably hits small businesses hard when they’re already drowning in a sea of red tape, among other battles. Employers already spend on average seven hours a week handling HR, and the British Chambers of Commerce estimates it will cost £189m for businesses to implement the Act. Here’s what you need to know:

Key changes
The headings of age, disability (which includes mental health and people diagnosed as clinically obese), race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment (people who are having or who have had a sex change, transvestites and transgender people), marriage and civil partnership, and pregnancy and maternity are now to be known as ‘protected characteristics’.;There are now seven different types of discrimination:
Direct discrimination: discrimination because of a protected characteristic.
Associative discrimination: direct discrimination against someone because they are associated with another person with a protected characteristic. (This includes carers of disabled people and elderly relatives, who can claim they were treated unfairly because of duties that had to carry out at home relating to their care work. It also covers discrimination against someone because, for example, their partner is from another country.)
Indirect discrimination: when you have a rule or policy that applies to everyone but disadvantages a person with a protected characteristic.
Harassment: behaviour deemed offensive by the recipient. Employees can claim they find something offensive even when it’s not directed at them.
Harassment by a third party: employers are potentially liable for the harassment of staff or customers by people they don’t directly employ, such as a contractor.
Victimisation: discrimination against someone because they made or supported a complaint under Equality Act legislation.
Discrimination by perception: direct discrimination against someone because others think they have a protected characteristic (even if they don’t).

Essentially direct or indirect discrimination agaist someone due to their sex is deemed illegal. Not sure on the law around opinions on websites (AKA Dunc’s editorial), however I think if Dunc had written ‘Asians can’t be referees’ then the reaction would be different from the readers (racisim is wrong). I think we as men need to look at our prejudices toward women more carefully, the law certainly is.

Duncs editorial in my opinion is purile, descriminatory trash. But hey we all turn a blind eye to it don’t we..

crouchfan, I’ve been a lurker on this site for ages but have to write now to say that I totally agree with you.
I know dunk is trying to wind us up but I really don’t see the point.

And dunk, your argument that you think that she can do the job as well as any man, you just don’t want women to be part of your boys club is no different than when in earlier times (white) people would say that they didn’t mind black people and were sure they were just as smart as themselves, only they didn’t want to be confronted with them so preferred if they kept to themselves.
If you can’t keep your eyes off her tits for 90 minutes while Liverpool is playing that’s your problem (or not) but hardly a reason to exclude women.
Ok, I’ve risen to the bait, but really this is not ok in my opinion and that has to be said.

Dunk doens’t understand this though.

As for Dunk – I’m surprised at your latest editorial. Maybe you are fishing for controversy, but it’s a strange topic to focus on.
As for women in football: I have no problem with it in the general sense. Female officials, if they can do the job to the standard of a man, are fine by me. If they are happy to get in between 22 men when a brawl or argument erupts, then that’s also fine. My point, is that no inch should be given as to the physicality of the job. There are times when the game gets ugly and if they are happy and willing to get involved in that, then fair play to them.

I always quite enjoyed the blonde one from Soccer AM (is it Helen Chamberlain?), but I’m not a fan of Gabby Logan. I also don’t really like the BBC female commentator, as for my tastes she shouts too much. But if a woman can do a job as well as a man, then she should be allowed to do it and not face sexist abuse.

This “it’s a bait” comments comes from Dunk every time he makes mistakes like this. He’s to thick to understand it before he makes the mistakes so he comes out with this after the damage is done as a poor excuse. then he tries to laugh it off making things worse.

Dunk has really got me baffled on this one. This is an absolute clear cut case of sex discrimination.

Notice this is the man you’re paying to tell you lies, racist and sexist comments.

Posts: 127 Haven’t had chance to peruse forums thoroughly today, but maybe a little disappointed at what I came across, perhaps particularly from Dunk. So, made me think… how many of us are there? Genuinely female, as opposed to just old women, that is…

With the next transfer window fast approaching it may be worth having a look at how the “Insiders” of koptalk did during the transfer window last summer. Quite a few new players arrived, but did the koptalkers know about it before the rest of the internet? Surely that’s why hundreds sign up without even bothering to make a single post in the forums. The lure of inside information has always been the main marketing trick for Dunk, but what do you really get? I did a similar post a couple of years back, and there was no inside info back then. Was there this year? Let’s have a look.

Milan Jovanovic:
The first player signed this summer was Milan Jovanovic who came on a free transfer from Standard Liege. Actually he signed a pre-contract agreement back in February. The first mention of him on koptalk was on January 24th when they reported a piece from the news about Jovanovic stalling on agreeing a proposed move to Liverpool. Then on February 2nd SSN reported that he was close to sign for Liverpool. This was picked up by one of the members. Dunk replied that “He agreed terms ages ago. Just nothing signed.” But why didn’t he tell this to his members who pays for stuff like that? The next day the news broke that Jovanovic had signed. Dunk then reported that “As expected Milan Jovanovic has put pen to paper on a contract with Liverpool.” It took another week before the player and his agent confirmed the signing, but there was nothing on koptalk that hadn’t already been in the media before.

Jonjo Shelvey:
Next out was Jonjo Shelvey. On April 25th Koptalk reported that “Liverpool have reportedly made enquiries regarding the availability of Charlton super kid Jonjo Shelvey.” The story was possibly picked from The People, but knowing Dunk he probably found the link on The Mirror website. In any case it’s quite clear that Liverpools interest in Shelvey must have gone on for some time as he signed three days later. The Insiders on koptalk never even mentioned him, and again noone on koptalk knew anything before it appeared in the media.

Joe Cole:
Again the first mention about Cole on koptalk was a report from the media on May 4th “Joe Cole is wanted by Liverpool, if you believe newspaper reports today.” Rumours about Cole were off and on during the next couple of months, but on July 5th one member reported that the bookies had changed the odds for the transfer, and was suggesting it was on. He said: “… has been backed into 4/5 to join Liverpool.
Was 14/1 on Sat……….” Noone in the thread believed it and there were references made to similar situations when nothing happend. The speculation in the media was intense and Dunk reported the next day that Cole was in talks with Liverpool. Nothing new that wasn’t in the media though. He then posted an email that he claimed he had received from someone he didn’t know, saying:
Hi Duncan,

I’ve been trying to get an add via facebook to get your contact details to give you some info re. Joe Cole.

I am very close to his agent and can confirm that he will now sign for Liverpool FC. Talks are at an advance stage with a wage somewhere between £80-90k a week being negotiated; other personal terms are currently being discussed.

Just though I’d give you the heads up to give the fans something to cheer about after all the doom.

If I get anymore details I’ll contact you.

Keep up the good work big man,

Apart from the fact that this email doesn’t make sense at all (why would someone he doesn’t know send him this info, and calling him big man etc.?) it doesn’t add any information apart from what’s been reported in the media. My guess is that it’s all fiction by Dunk who tried to be a bit clever.

A couple of weeks later Cole signed for Liverpool. When the transfer looked to be nailed on Dunk ran his usual routine about “Medical have been arranged”. He even used his alter ego The_Informer to pass this info on. It was a shame for Dunk though that he decided to add a bit of extra info himself. The squad was in Switzerland and so was the medical team. Dunk said in his exclusive that “Currently there’s nobody at Melwood available to perform a medical as the Reds are overseas but we are aware of logistical arrangements that are currently being discussed. The medical team are not due back until Wednesday but there are discussions currently taking place to determine if they should be brought home sooner.” But Cole was on his way to Switzerland and the next day he had passed his medical.

Danny Wilson:
Wilson was reported as a Liverpool target as far back as April (at least). There were several reports in the media during May and June that he was close to signing, but he didn’t sign until July 21st. Koptalk Insiders never reported anything on Wilson, and there was nothing that wasn’t picked from the media. When he finally signed, it was reported by one of the members who picked it up from the Official LFC site.

Fabio Aurelio:
Fabio’s contract ran out after last season, but he was invited back to train at Melwood. This was never reported on koptalk. They had no idea, and when Aurelio signed a new contract it came out of the blue for them. It was first reported on koptalk by a member who read it on Rory Smith’s twitter feed. With all the insiders they claim to have at Melwood and Anfield you would have thought that there would be at least a hint about it, but there was nothing.

Christian Poulsen:
The first mention of Liverpools interest in Poulsen was a report from the media on July 18th. In the same report Dunk claimed Kuyt had agreed personal terms with Inter. During the next weeks there was written much about the transfer, and even his agent confirmed to be negotiating with Liverpool. On August 10th it was reported that Poulsen was in Liverpool for his medical, having pulled out of the danish squad for the upcoming friendly, and Dunk took a chance, just to make it look like he was first with the news, and told his members that Poulsen had completed his medical and signed the contract. Later that day sporten.dk could reveal that his agent was in Italy to conclude things with Juventus before going to Liverpool to complete negotiations the following day. The confirmation of the signing came on August 12th, 2 days after Dunk claimed the deal was done. Again everything you could read on koptalk was taken from the media, apart from the lie that Poulen had signed before he actually did.

Brad Jones:
The first mention about Brad Jones was as usual a report from the media that was quoted in the news section of koptalk. This was on August 3rd. On August 9th Dunk claimed Jones had agreed personal terms with Liverpool, but he had his medical a full week later and signed the contract after that. Apart from that there wasn’t anything that hadn’t been in the media first.

Raul Meireles:
Raul Meireles wasn’t mentioned on koptalk before the news broke in the media, possibly in this article by The Guardian. Not a word about Liverpools interest in this player was posted by any Insider, member or Dunk himself. It came totally out of the blue.

Paul Konchesky:
Konchesky had been linked to Liverpool for a long time, even though Hodgson had said he would not raid his old club. On August 27th several sites reported that Konchesky was set for a medical. This was picked up by some members on koptalk, but there was no info from Dunk and his Insider before he reported that Konchesky was at Melwood the next day. That was all. No inside info there. And the players moving the other way was not reported by koptalk either.

So another transfer window came and went with no inside info on the site that sells memberships at £36,5 a year based on inside information. For those of us who have watched koptalk for more than a decade this comes as no surprise, but for the new members who signed up this summer, thinking they would get inside info about transfers and other stuff surrounding LFC, it must have been a big surprise.

But what did the koptalk insiders say then? Who did they think we’d sign, and what else did they claim? Well, they’ve gone a bit quiet the last couple of years, and they hardly ever post anymore. However, Dunk put up a bar above the threads in the footy forum where he showed a percentage of “koptalk sources opinion” on a few things. When he put it up in late May he had Torres to leave at 40%, Gerrard to leave at 80%, Mascherano to leave at 80% and Rafa to leave at 20%. A few days later Rafa was history. By then Gerrard and Mascherano was down to 60% to leave. A week later he had Torres and Gerrard to leave at 50% and he also had a 95% of new owners this summer. The numbers went a bit up and down, but on July 5th he had Torres to leave at 90% and Gerrard to leave at 100%. This would mean there where no chance whatsoever that Gerrard would stay. He’s still there though. The percentage on Gerrards leaving went down to 70% (how is that possible?) and then up to 100% again. On the last record I made before he took it down Torres was at 90%, Gerrard and Mascherano at 100%. There was also the investment saga going on, and Dunk claimed it was 1000% certain that the club would be bought by a rich sheikh from Abu Dhabi. That’s a long story though, worthy it’s own post. But the club is sold anyway, to someone who Dunk had no idea about.
