All hail Mukul Choudhary

Choudhary came into bat at number 7, pretty much at a situation when LSG had given up all hopes. In the first 8 deliveries that he faced, the uncapped batter struggled and managed to take singles or play dot balls. However, over the course of the next 19 deliveries, Mukul went absolutely berserk and finished with 54 runs to his name off just 27 deliveries, striking 2 fours and 7 sixes at a strike rate of 200 to guide LSG to an epic 3-wicket win.

Choudhary was bought by LSG for Rs 2.60 crore in the IPL 2026 mini-auction after the team engaged in a fierce bidding war with MI and mostly RR. He had registered for a base price of just Rs 30 lakh. The 21-year-old made his IPL debut earlier in the month against DC and had managed to create very little impact in the last two games, scoring 14 and 2. However, his whirlwind knock against KKR could be a life-changing innings.

Did KKR bowlers almost outdo LSG batters?

It all started with Vaibhav Arora getting rid of LSG openers Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh early on in the 5th over of the run-chase. A double strike in that over not only put the brakes on LSG’s momentum but also slowed things down after a good 40-run start in about 30 deliveries. Cameron Green, who finally managed to create an impact in his first over, managed to get the crucial wicket of LSG captain Rishabh Pant as the latter was sent packing for 10 runs off 9 deliveries.

Kartik Tyagi got rid of the dangerous Nicholas Pooan cheaply in the 12th over to put the Super Giants further on the back foot. However, KKR did suffer a scare as Ayush Badoni played a valiant 54-run knock. However, Anukul Roy struck twice to send Badoni and Abdul Samad packing. Sunil Narine joined the party late, as he got rid of Mohammed Shami in the 16th over.

However, little did KKR know that they were going to be torn apart at the fag end of the run-chase by Mukul Choudhary. Therefore, an improved performance with the ball by a depleted KKR bowling line-up saw no profit being earned as they were outfoxed by an uncapped batter despite their brilliance.

S8UL Defeated Revenant Xspark to Lift VCSA 2026 Split 1 Title

S8UL began the series well on Split, winning the map 13-8. Their mid control and utility usage looked well prepared. Anq stood out in this map and across the series with consistent impact. S8UL looked comfortable in their setups and rarely gave away easy rounds.

Revenant Xspark performed excellently on Breeze and won with a scoreline of 13-4. Their aim duels were very precise, and they managed open areas effectively compared to S8UL. The same success was seen at Haven where they won 13-7. Revenant’s defense at Haven posed challenges for S8UL in the later rounds.

Having led the series 2-1, the chances of winning had appeared bright. But then came crucial adjustments from S8UL in regards to Pearl, slowing down the game, and executing better. Thus, they won the map with a score of 13-8.

The final map, Abyss, was one-sided in favor of S8UL. They won 13-4 with confident plays on both sides. Revenant struggled to find openings, and S8UL maintained control throughout the map.

When we talk about performance, Anq did a great job and led S8UL in the match with his excellent performance, and other players such as SkRossi and RvK made a difference at crucial times. In the case of Revenant, Hoax and Venka made their presence felt, but the consistency was missing for the team in the last map.

As S8UL wins this match, it bags ₹900,000 INR as the prize money, while Revenant Xspark ends up in the second place and gets ₹4,50,000 INR. With this performance, S8UL will become one of the best teams playing Valorant in India.

Predicted RCB playing XI vs RR

RCB are expected to function in the same fashion as they did in the previous season – make minimal or no changes to their playing XI unless and until it is a much-needed one. Salt and Kohli, who have scored 54 and 97 runs in two games, will undoubtedly continue as openers in the game against RR. If there was one position that RCB would have thought of in terms of making amends, it would have been the number 3 position.

However, Devdutt Padikkal has solidified his position at number 3, thanks to his 50-run knock against CSK. Therefore, RCB can very well go with the Karnataka batter at number 3 while Venkatesh Iyer, the Rs 7 crore buy, is likely to warm the bench once again. While he will be on the list of impact players, it is highly unlikely that he will be used.

No Hazlewood again

There has been no word on the availability of Josh Hazlewood for the clash against RR. It is all but confirmed that the Australian pacer is set to miss the clash as well, as it was earlier confirmed that while he has joined the RCB camp, he continues to recover from his injuries, and therefore, there is no fixed date for his comeback.

The Australian pacer finished as RCB’s leading wicket-taker in IPL 2025. With 22 wickets from 12 matches, Hazlewood was not only the spearhead of RCB’s pace department but was also their go-to bowler when the team needed wickets. He averaged 17.54 with the ball. 

In his absence, RCB’s pace attack – led by Bhuvneshwar Kumar – and comprising of Jacob Duffy and Abhinandan has done well. Abhinandan Singh is likely to get an extended run while Suyash Sharma is expected to be named the impact player for the clash in Guwahati.

The End of an Era for Jonathan with GodLike Esports

Rumors started circulating as soon as BGIS 2026 had its survival stage, during which Jonathan was bench from a game for the first time in his career. Even though the management stated that it had “strategic reasons,” things took a different turn after the finals that took place in Chennai. GodLike managed to get the 5th place, and very soon, his teammates, Spower mentioned that BGIS 2026 was the end for him within this team.

Was Finn Allen Not Out?

Rathi made some ground, and did well to complete the catch. There wasn’t any dispute raised when the batter was adjudged out, but following replays showed, that Rathi might have just touched the boundary skirting with his boot. While there was no conclusive evidence to show — if it was the boot, or just the shadow, but still, what was more problematic was, technology available wasn’t used to full effect.

Allen was out for 9, leaving KKR at 15/1. This wicket could play a vital role eventually in the context of the match. as KKR have a rather slim bowling line up, and one of the keys of them winning matches is, if Allen gets going.. The Kiwi batter has been hitting at a strike rate of 205 in this edition of IPL, and had he stayed at the crease for another 5 overs, it could have made a difference of 30-40 runs in KKR’s total.

Meanwhile, this incident is not in isolation. Earlier, in the first match of the tournament, SRH’s Heinrich Klassen got a poor decision from the third umpire, when RCB’s Phil Salt caught him at the boundary. Here, just like Rathi’s incident, Salt seemed to be touching the skirting, at least from some angles. He was out for 31 from 22, and could have made a big difference to Hyderabad’s eventual score of 201. They went on to lose that match.

Ticket fraud during DC vs MI?

Director Anand Verma lodged a formal complaint about the same, with DCP central district. Verma mentioned in his complaint that him, and his guests were stopped from going to the hospitality section, despite possessing valid tickets. The tickets he had, had already been scanned.

“When the Complainant and his guests arrived at the designated entry gate of the stadium, they were illegally stopped and denied entry by the security personnel manning the entry point,” Verma stated in the complaint.

“Upon enquiry, the Complainant was shocked to learn that the two complimentary physical tickets in his possession had already been scanned and used for entry by some unknown and unauthorised persons,” he added. The same has been brought to the notice of CFO Manan Gupta and DDCA president Rohan Jaitley.

DDCA secretary refutes claims

He also hinted at a security lapse. “…it demonstrates a complete breakdown of internal controls… the collusion of security personnel in this fraudulent activity is a matter of grave concern… Their complicity in allowing unauthorised individuals to gain entry by fraudulent means compromises the entire security apparatus of the stadium, posing a significant risk to public safety,” Verma alleged.

But a contrary viewpoint by secretary Ashok Sharma dismisses the claim. He called it a ‘technical issue’. “Delhi Capitals have communicated to us that it was a technical issue. Sometimes the scanner fails to read the barcode,” Sharma told PTI. Meanwhile, Delhi is slated to host five more IPL 2026 games.

RCB & Thushara to get no relief?

As per News Wire, Sri Laka Cricket will file objections against the petition filed by Thushara at the Colombo District Court. The court has ordered that the case be called again on April 23 for Sri Lanka Cricket to file its objections. In his plea, Nuwan Thushara told the court that his contract with the SLC ended on March 31, 2026. He had already informed the Sri Lanka cricket board not to consider him, as he would retire from international cricket at the age of 31 after playing 30 T20Is for Sri Lanka, bagging 36 wickets.

“In his plaint, Thushara named Sri Lanka Cricket President Shammi Silva, Secretary Bandula Dissanayake, Treasurer Sujeewa Godaliyadda and CEO Ashley de Silva as defendants,” the report stated.

The Sri Lankan bowler made his IPL debut back in 2024, where he played 7 games for the Mumbai Indians and amassed 8 wickets. In 2025, he played just one match for RCB. Thushara not only informed the court that the failure to issue an NOC will result in income losses but also pointed out that the board had issued clearances in the past.

“Thushara further claimed that his fitness levels were consistent with those maintained throughout his career and that similar standards had not prevented Sri Lanka Cricket from issuing NOCs to him in previous years,” the report stated.

Thushara argued that the SLC already informed him that he would not be selected for national duties. Hence, he said it was an injustice not to grant him the NOC for IPL 2026. He also claimed that his fitness levels were at par with what they had been throughout his career, and it did not prevent him from playing for Sri Lanka. Thushara is seeking a declaration that he is entitled to the NOC, along with interim and permanent injunctions directing Sri Lanka Cricket to issue the certificate to allow him to participate in the IPL and other overseas leagues

Nuwan is much-needed for RCB at this point of time, especially since Josh Hazlewood is unavailable as he is yet to completely recover from his injuries. The latest update on Thushara comes as a blow to RCB who will take on RR in their third match of IPL 2026 on Friday against Rajasthan Royals.
