Last Monday was not the best Monday to get things started since the Showbox was also hosting what I heard to be thier yearly industry night. I was kinda bummed I didn’t get to go. They were serving free drinks! So it was either free drinks at the Showbox, or free pizza at some new place. At any rate, a few friends and I played scrabble while taking turns on the wheels of steel (tip: scrabble is not the best game to play after a couple of tall boys). After about an hour or so after the clubs owners left, they came back and raided the place with others who couldn’t get into the Showbox, locked doors and opened the bar. Turned ouit to be a lot of fun!

This Monday, we have a few different DJ’s lined up, and looking towards having a successful recording session for our first podcast. Be sure to come back a day or two later to listen.

If you would like to sign-up to play next week, let me know as soon as possible.

Also, please comment on some ideas you would think would be fun for games. We have some board games, and we also brought up a couple of game machines for the flat screens. Chef Ray and I are looking to maybe start a beer pong tournament as well. Please share your ideas and come down this Monday for $2 man cans of PBR, $3 wells and $5 AMF, LI, and Black Opals.

Previously known at Mira, 2800 1st Ave. in Belltown has recently taken on new ownership and starting a new Industry Night for restaurant, bar, hotel, and salon workers beginning Monday the 12th (October). We will be bringing out Pizza all night if you’re interested in coming out. We are also offering weekly drink specials, and will be bringing in our favorite local House, Breaks, Electro, Downtempo, Progressive, and other inspiring beats to Belltown.

For the kick-off, come check out the new club, our DJ’s who will be getting familiar with the equipment, save some green on drink specials, and eat for FREE.

Here it is. Some breakbeats for the first day back at doing the grind. I’ve realized something in doing this mix. Personally, I’m not too happy with it. Since working with dFox on doing a BeatCast every other week, I thought it would be a good idea to create a mix, then practice that mix over and over until the day of the post (today). However, what I’ve discovered is that the “feeling” isn’t the same when mixing something that has been practiced. In addition to seeing the world’s best amaze you in Paris, Seoul, Vegas, and more, director Benson Lee goes further into the history of break dancing and how it’s evolved. Fortunately there’s no plot or love story that will embarras anyone who appreciates the talent like how you may have felt when seeing the trailers for You Got Served and Step Up. This is a very fun mix that I have put together. I have mixed up a few different types of music, mostly because it is my style. I like a bit of house, trance, electro in all my mixes.
