Please accept my apology for the condition of InsidetheWatchtower.com. I’ve been doing some updating and redesign work to make the site even easier to read and to keep updated. So please bear with me as the site will still look a little funky for a couple more weeks. The site is fully functional, but you’ll notice that many of the graphics and photos have been unlinked. They will all be restored soon. I’ll be repairing our more recent and popular articles first. In the meantime, don’t forget about our companion site Ex-JW.com and our newest offering, WatchTowerWatch.com. Former Bethelite and JW discussion website pioneer, Randy Watters, has recently been busy updating his sites as well. Take time to check out hte new Freeminds2.org and support his work as you can. If you are looking for a way to get the truth out about life as a Jehovah’s Witness and want to … Continue reading →

Related Posts:

Introducing Our Artist

About this Site

Mad Sweeney Returns

Introducing “InsidetheWatchtower.com”

Raised a Jehovah’s Witness

One of the major concerns I had was with the belief that Jesus Christ’s invisible presence began in the year 1914. The Bible says nothing about being able to determine an exact year for such an event by means of calculating “seven Gentile times.” Jesus mentions “the appointed times of the nations” - but nowhere does he say that there are seven of them, or that the “prophetic rule” of “a day for a year” should be assigned to them so that they last 2,520 years. .

Related Posts:

Why I Left Jehovah’s Witnesses – Part 1

The Watchtower, Jehovah’s Witnesses and Education

How Witnesses Study the Bible

District Convention “New Light” Review – 2

There’s Never Any Pony!

When the idea of a governing body was first proposed to Knorr and Franz, they protested. It meant the "Governing Body" - and not the president - would have control of the Organization’s doctrines and policies. Although he and Franz were powerless to stop the change, Knorr insisted that more hardcore members be appointed. Seven of Knorr’s "yes men" were called in to Bethel from outside assignments and asked to serve on the new Governing Body...

Related Posts:

Brother Knorr, I’m leaving Bethel!

Crisis of Conscience – review

About this Site

Corn-pone Opinions

Hard Knocks

My brothers and I soon found that our lives were totally changed from what we knew before. I was forced against my will to become part of my parents' new religion, and was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness at the age of 13. Being Jehovah's Witness children meant that we were being completely separated from our usual friends and school activities. My brothers and I were totally blind-sided by these changes. We'd have no more worldly friends, no sports, no holidays, no standing for the Pledge of Allegiance of the Flag. Life - as we knew it - was over.

Related Posts:

My Jehovah’s Witness Childhood

Field Service: Then and Now

Raised a Jehovah’s Witness

My Father’s Letter

How Witnesses Study the Bible

Most Jehovah’s Witnesses believe the Watch Tower Society is completely beyond reproach when it comes to issues surrounding racism and racial equality. When attending a meeting, convention, or assembly of Jehovah’s Witnesses, one is instantly impressed at the intermingling and harmony between people of all ethnic backgrounds. Unfortunately, achieving this level of racial harmony has been just as "bumpy" for our organization as it has been for many others

Related Posts:

About this Site

Going to the Public Talk

Watchtower Puzzle: Spirit-Directed vs Inspired

Crisis of Conscience – review

Introducing “InsidetheWatchtower.com”
