The 2012 expo saw nearly 50,000 attendees from Japan, Asia, and the rest of the world, with increased presence from the USA. In particular, Thailand, Taiwan, Spain, and Iran had significantly increased their presence in 2012 from 2011 and we expect even more growth in 2013.

HONOLULU, Hawaii (01 February 2012) Insight interAsia–a leading technical technical sales and marketing firm in Asia–is pleased to announce that the company has opened a new office in the USA in order to meet the growing communications needs with its North American clients.

Robert Haak, CEO of the new Insight interAsia LLC, says “Many of the clients we help get started in Asia technical sales and marketing are American. Having an office in the USA allows us to communicate more effectively with these clients because we eliminate most of the time zone differences and we can talk to them during their normal business day. It’s extremely effective.”

“As business has grown from our rather humble beginnings in Singapore, we found that we needed to have more regular, day-to-day contact with our principals in the USA,” continues Haak. “Locating the new US presence in Hawaii offers us the ability to talk to the mainland and easily relay information back-and-forth to our staff throughout the technology centers in Asia. The new Hawaii operation significantly enhances our ability to help the US businesses export to Asia.”

Adds Haak, “Hawaii has the added benefit for us in that there are many cleantech and environmental technologies being developed locally. We want to help export those technologies to Asia. For example, Hawaii has leading edge photovoltaics, geothermal energy, water purification, and biofuel technology but not a great deal of exposure to the markets in Asia. We hope to assit with that.”

The company plans to use the new US-registered entity to bid on US government and US state contracts that require detailed technology and market studies regarding Asian economies. Says Haak, “it’s no secret the Asian economies are growing in size and importance, particularly in the technologies we cover. Not only are US companies interested in expanding into Asia, but US government entities are increasingly curious about Asian technology market trends and developments.”

Intersolar China is the new event for solar professionals looking to do business in the lucrative Chinese solar market. It has been designed from the ground up to offer new business contacts and networking opportunities for the international solar industry. During the three-day event, Intersolar China expects around 7,500 visitors, with more than 500 attendees expected to take part in the accompanying conference program.

Insight interAsia will attend the 3-day Asia Smart Grid 2011 expo, which is held 02-04 November. This expo is a key component of the Energy Week activities.

Many of our principals are highly interested in the growing smart grid value chain in Asia. This expo offers us an excellent opportunity to meet with companies, government labs, universities, and policymakers throughout the region.

The mission is being led by US ambassador to Singapore, David Adelman, and is organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore with assistance from AmCham Indonesia and the US embassy in Jakarta.

Insight interAsia has outstanding connections in Indonesia and we are looking forward to this opportunity to further enhance our network in that market. Indonesia is growing very rapidly and many of our clients and principals want to me more involved there. Thus, we will be investigating recent changes to importation laws, GAAP, and free trade zones.

We also had a booth in main hall and we enjoyed meeting many new contacts from North Carolina and around the world.

The NanoMatchGlobal event was a new addition to the COMS program and was particularly effective.
