Resistance 2 Trophies Unveiled

Despite the fact that Resistance 2 isn't out for another month in North America, the Trophy list for the game has already been unveiled on the internet thanks to PS3Trophies.co.uk. There will be 40 trophies in all, with 26 being Bronze, 9 Silver, 4 Gold and 1 Platinum. They will be spread across the Single Player, Co-Op and Multiplayer aspects of the game, so if you want all 40 Trophies, you'll need to be well versed in all gameplay modes.

Resistance 2 Time Bomb Cinematic

GameTrailers TV had a world exclusive trailer for Resistance 2 which is entitled "Time-Bomb" and features a short clip of Nathan Hale getting some lip from what is presumed to be a fellow Sentinel.

Resistance 2 Single Player Campaign Won't Be Co-Op

New news has been announced which relates to the Resistance 2 single player campaign. In Resistance: Fall of Man, the Single Player campaign could be played both one player, and co-operatively with a friend locally with a split-screen. This has been scrapped for Resistance 2, due to the inclusion of a separate co-operative campaign. So, if you want to play through Resistance 2's single player campaign with a buddy... Tough luck! Just play the co-op campaign with eight buddies online instead and be happy with that.

New Resistance 2 Videos

I haven't had a chance myself to ogle these new videos myself yet, but in the rush I'm in, here's simply where you can find the new Resistance 2 gameplay videos as presented by GameVideos.com. They're a mixture of both single player and co-operative play, but they could contain spoilers from the game. Resistance 2 Graphics are Polished

Just recently GamePro got their hands on a near final build of Resistance 2. In their article about the hands-on preview the one thing in particular they thought saw the biggest improvement since they last had their paws on Resistance 2, it's graphics. Via GamePro: "Now with two games of experience under its belt, Insomniac is pushing Resistance 2--a third-generation PS3 title--to new graphical heights. And it's looking incredibly sharp. When I saw the game earlier in the year for GamePro's August cover story, the concepts and execution were both there, but graphically, Resistance 2 was running with old character models and moderate detail. But last week's showing of a near-final version of the game proved that a few months of development time is a wonderful thing. To put it plainly, Resistance 2 is looking hot."

A relatively short Podcast this time, as the majority of the time is spent with special guest Haden Blackman. Resistance 2 Beta Codes Apparently Available At Gamestop

GameXtract have reported that Beta Codes for the Resistance 2 Beta which starts shortly are being sold at GameStop stores in the United States. If you weren't lucky enough to be invited to take part by Sony upon applying and you chose not to gain access through purchasing at Qore, this could be the best way to get an advanced preview of Resistance 2's multiplayer mayhem. If you have already got the game on pre-order then you should receive your beta code by e-mail or phone, but if not it can't hurt to give them a little nudge by going to the store.

Resistance 2 Campaign Mode As Long As Predecessor

James Stevenson, who is head of Community Relations over at Insomniac Games, recently responded to a question over at NeoGAF relating to the length of Resistance 2's single player campaign mode. He commented that the campaign is likely to be of a similar length to that seen in Resistance: Fall of Man, but it could be a little bit shorter or longer. This is definitely good news though, as many felt Resistance: FOM's campaign was a good strong length and when the prospect of the co-op campaign as added into the equation, it looks like Resistance 2 is definitely set to deliver.

Six New Resistance 2 Screenshots

A random gaming blog managed to find some new screenshots from Resistance 2 which show off lots of differing locals from the Single Player campaign. They all have varying degrees of colour, but the sense of scale presented in the screenshots is mindblowing. It looks like Insomniac have really out-done themselves this time around, which begs the question about how amazing Resistance 3 is (should they make it). Anyway, for the screens, see below:-

Will Insomniac Learn With The Resistance 2 Public Beta?

Ever since Halo 3 had its exceedingly popular and successful public beta testing phase, everyone else has been trying to replicate such success, if only for the potential marketing benefits it could pose due to the extra hype. However, so far Sony's attempts haven't necessarily gone to plan. Two of Sony's most recent beta testing phases - Metal Gear Online and SOCOM - have had serious problems due to unexpected volume, with Konami's entire service de-railing so badly that they had to postpone the beta. Both of the aformentioned claimed that problems arose due to unexpected volume, but surely with such big name franchises and the extreme hype surrounding them, they could have given an educated guess as to how much interest there would be. The question is, will Insomniac succeed where these have failed? Find out our thoughts after the jump.

Resistance 2 Collectors Edition Announced

Amazon.com have recently put up the Resistance 2 Collectors Edition for pre-order at a price of $79.99. So far this is the only region that it has been announced in, but we'll keep you posted on news of a Collectors Edition anywhere else. Resistance Retribution Debut Trailer

The trailer which gripped Playstation Portable fans during Sony's E3 press conference for Resistance Retribution has now been made available on the internet thanks to GameTrailers.com. As previously mentioned, the gameplay looks largely 3rd person, unlike the main franchise which is 1st person.

Resistance Retribution Announced For PSP

During the Sony press conference at E3 this year, Resistance Retribution was announced to be in development by Sony Bend for the Sony Playstation Portable. The game itself looks to be a 3rd person adventure game which is set in france based on the logo. The trailer was also narrated by Rachel Parker

Project Abraham Resistance 2 Viral Ad

At the end of the recent E3 Trailer for Resistance 2, there was a very short flash up of a domain name...projectabraham.com. There are two videos on the site, which feature Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica, Bionic Woman) talking about test subjects at what we can presume is the Icelandic research facility which has been talked about.

Eurogamer has secured a new teaser trailer of Resistance 2. It's not too long, but we hear a voice over of some unknown person, more than likely a member of the Chimera. Nothing too revealing or new, but great to see nonetheless. New Resistance 2 Teaser

Ted Price: Insomniac staying with 'leading edge' PS3

Ted Price was interviewed by US technology website VentureBeat, and was asked whether he had an urge to move to other platforms. He replied: "No. There are always opportunities, since we are independent. But for this generation, we are focused on the PS3 and the leading edge. Would you really double or triple your money by doing that? The answer is possibly. It depends on the publisher, the quality of the game, and if you can pull off multiple versions of games with the same level of quality. We haven't been set up to do that. We've been focused on PlayStation technology for a long time. If we were to make that jump, it would take a lot of planning. Right now, we see the other side. If you have a strong publisher who is marketing your games as a way to sell the hardware, then you get a lot of exposure. The sales of "Resistance: Fall of Man" have done very well worldwide, including a lot of fans playing online." Price also denied that Insomniac's recently opened studio in North Carolina was working on an Xbox 360 game, saying: "We aren't saying what they are working on. But we have said they are using tools that we have developed here in Burbank to make games."

Resistance 2 to have Public Beta

It was always on the cards, but now it's been made official. Resistance 2 will have its own public beta. The news has broken in this month's GamePro, who have a huge 10-page preview of Resistance 2, which includes a competition where winners can win Resistance 2 Beta Codes! People lucky enough to be involved with the Beta will get their hands on the 60 player action, as well as getting a sneak peak at Insomniac's new ranking system.

Resistance 2 Gameplay Footage Preview

On the 11th of April 2008, Insomniac Games released the first glimpse of Resistance 2 on Gametrailers TV. The footage disclosed Nathan Hale�s voice, his bleak future and America overrun by Chimera. Since the video was only a teaser, it contained no actual gameplay footage. It teased even more though, as it ended with a promise of gameplay footage on Friday the 13th of June. Ted Price talking Resistance 2 with EuroGamer

Ted Price was interviewed live by EuroGamer, and fans were able to ask Insomniac Games' president whatever they had in mind. Some new points that came up: - Ted Price could not answer if Resistance 2 will need a mandatory setup. That's something that will be revealed closer to the launch, although he personally likes that kind of install; "Personally, I'd rather have a several-minute install the first time I play a game and then enjoy the benefits of faster loads every time I play the game after that." - Resistance 2 will run at 720P and 30 FPS. - Resistance 2 will be as long as the first game.

Insomniac Finds Peace and Quiet in North Carolina, and Second Studio

Insomniac Games has revealed to the world that they will be seeking out a location in North Carolina to open a sister studio, with plans to cut the ribbons and open shop by January 2009.

New Resistance 2 Concept Art

Some new Resistance 2 concept art has surfaced on the internet courtesy of Playstation Universe, one of which contains a scene from the teaser trailer that was released last month. The other showcases an epic struggle against a Goliath, which now appears to be much larger than the versions seen in Resistance Fall of Man.

New Resistance 2 Weapon Revealed

1UP.com editor Garnett Lee interviews James Stevenson about Resistance 2 multiplayer. New guns, the Marksman (a mid-range semi-automatic sniper rifle) and the Minigun (a chaingun with a tripod and a shield as the secondary fire) are mentioned.

Resistance 2 Single Player Screenshots

Well, they were promised on the Full Moon Show, which was released earlier and they have already been delivered. Three new screenshots have been released, and they look great (your effort was worth it Brian!). The screenshots appear to be from the Single Player campaign, as opposed to the screenshots that GamePro posted last week.

New Resistance 2 Screenshots

GamePro compiled a very informative preview of Resistance 2 yesterday, but while most of the information was already known, the most interesting tidbits were the new screenshots that have been published. The screenshots are from the woodland level that was featured in the demo which the media were able to see and play at the Sony Playstation Day.

First Resistance 2 Impression

Yesterday's PlayStation Day gaming event featured a Resistance 2 multi-player demo. The press got to play and try it out for the first time, and good impressions aren't late to come. GameSpot's article is very detailed, and is recommended to read. Check the article after the jump.

Resistance 2 Release Date Re-Confirmed

During the recent Press Conference, Ted Price mentioned that Resistance 2 is potentially only six months away, which confirms the October/early November release date for the highly anticipated title; a date they stated in the past. A Resistance 2 gameplay video from Sony PlayStation Day had also surfaced online over at GameVideos, after it was recorded using a cellphone, but it has since been removed. The footage showed the new woodland level as described in the Sony Playstation Day Recap, but it has since been removed by GameVideos.

The Sony Playstation Day is currently taking place in England and the Press Conference has of course talked about Sony in general. However, we're only interested in talk about one game Resistance 2. A fair amount of information was divulged about the game, including the announcement that MyResistance.net will be completely revamped to cater for Resistance 2's new functionality.

Resistance 2 Demo Coming Up

An Insomniac Games employee has written in the NeoGAF boards and confirmed that a Resistance 2 demo will be present during the Sony PlayStation day on May 6, two days from now. It is likely that impressions will leak out of the press-only event, and we'll make sure to post them when they appear. Check back for more Resistance 2 news soon.
