When it comes to planning for the future or having dreams, I have found that there are usually two types of obstacles we see in front of us.

The Doable Obstacles

The first type of obstacles are “doable” obstacles that may require effort and energy from us, but our internal assumptions about them are that we could overcome them if we really wanted to.

For example, let’s say that you are a Blogger and a mentor you’re working with tells you that you need to be writing an average of one Blog post per day in order for your Blog to take off. Let’s say that currently you are writing two Blog posts per week. Well, going from two per week to seven per week may require energy and effort, but it’s probably not an obstacle that would stop you dead in your tracks.

If you truly believed that you could have what you want by writing those seven articles per week, you would do it, because it’s not a very difficult obstacle to overcome. You’d probably feel like it’s 100% within your control.

Another example could be starting a savings program where you put away 10% of your income each month. It may require effort, it may require energy and changes to your lifestyle but it’s probably one of those obstacles that you could overcome if you really had to and really wanted to.

Whenever you sit down and dream about your future, and plans start to emerge on how you can achieve that future, your plan will usually involve a whole bunch of these “doable” obstacles. Things you’ve either done before, or deep down know you could do if you really wanted to.

The Impossible Obstacles

The second type of obstacles are “impossible” obstacles that your mind has decided are not within the realm of its power to overcome – often without you really even realizing it.

For example, let’s say that the mentor from the first example above told you that one of the steps you need to take to get your Blog growing is to contact 5 multi-millionaires and arrange for an interview that you will put on your Blog.

This of course could be just one step in a series of twenty or thirty steps, but for whatever reason your mind declares this step as “impossible” – often without you really even realizing.

So let’s say that your mentor gives you these steps to follow to grow your Blog:

Install a new custom made Wordpress theme on your Blog.

Re-arrange your categories in a specific way.

Write an average of one Blog post per day.

Contact 5 multi-millionaires and arrange for an interview that you will put on your Blog.

Install AdSense on your Blog.

etc.

Usually without you even realizing, your mind quickly scans through the list and labels each step as either “Doable if I really wanted to do it” or “Impossible”.

For the sake of this example, let’s say that your mind labels 1,2 and 3 as “doable”, 4 as “impossible”, and 5 as “doable”.

Here’s what usually happens next. Unless step #1 is super easy, we’ll usually procrastinate and avoid doing it even though we know it’s totally doable. Why? Because most of the time our minds will not want to make an effort in a direction or with a plan where there is an “impossible” step involved prior to completion.

You mind basically says “Well, we can’t do step #4 because it’s impossible, so why even start at all?” and so you procrastinate. You spin your wheels, trying to find a custom made Wordpress theme for you Blog but for some reason you just can’t get yourself to do it.

You sit there wondering what’s wrong with you, since that step is so simple yet you can’t seem to find the time or energy to even get started.

The reason you’re procrastinating is because your mind is trying to avoid facing step #4, not #1-3. It knows it can do the first three steps if it really wanted to, but if there is an “impossible” obstacle along the way, then why even bother?

Are Impossible Obstacles Really Impossible?

The obstacles your mind labels as “impossible” are not really impossible. They may seem impossible to your mind, but they are far from impossible. In fact, for a lot of people out there in the world, the exact same obstacle is probably labeled as “doable” in their minds – usually because they’ve done it before, or because they don’t have any limiting beliefs that make the obstacle seem more difficult than it already is.

For example, one person may label something like qualifying for a mortgage as “impossible” while another person may label the exact same step as “doable” even though they could have the exact same income and the exact same credit rating.

For whatever reason, usually based on our beliefs and social conditioning, we all have internal blocks and labels on things and we all label things differently in our minds.

What if Impossible Obstacles Were Really Possible?

Over the last few weeks I’ve been doing a lot of goal setting, planning and visualizing my future. As part of the process certain plans have begun to emerge on how to accomplish my goals. At first, without realizing it, my mind had labeled some of the steps within those plans as “impossible”.

However, over the last couple of weeks I have also had a few incidents happen where things that seemed very improbable or even impossible to my mind manifested in front of me with complete ease. These weren’t huge things, and some people out there I’m sure would label these things as completely “doable”, but for my mind they seemed very difficult and then they manifested in my life with complete ease.

These events had a very interesting effect on me.

They made me question two things:

What else is my mind labeling as “impossible” without me even realizing?

What if anything at all was possible?

Have you ever asked yourself these questions?

They can be very powerful. I’ve been asking myself these questions over and over again over the last couple of weeks – especially the second question.

What if anything was possible – what would you do with your life?

Who would you want to be?

What would you want to do?

If asking yourself that question seems impractical because you know that anything is not possible, you could start by asking yourself something along the lines of “If the things that I label as difficult were actually easy, what would I do with my life?”

The idea here is to try to “relax” your convictions as to what your mind labels as “doable” vs what it labels as “impossible”.

By “impossible” I mean stuff that your mind believes is not within your control. For example, let’s say that your dream is to start a video game company that develops a certain type of video game.

However, part of your plan requires that you have a million dollars to start the company, and your mind labels that as “impossible”, because you don’t have a million dollars, and you don’t know anyone who would be willing to give you a million dollars, so your mind thinks “Well, unless we win the lottery, which is impossible anyways, there’s no point chasing this dream because we don’t have a million dollars.”

That’s the kind of stuff I’m talking about.

What if it was possible for you to have a million dollars, what kind of video game company would you start? How would it work? What kind of games would you develop? How would you be different from the other game companies? etc.

If you sit down and spend some time dreaming a little bit, based on the assumption that any of these seemingly “impossible” steps in your plans are actually possible, what would you want to do with your life?

Even just becoming aware of what your mind labels as “impossible” or even “extremely difficult” can be a very liberating experience. Sometimes just by becoming aware of that you realize that some of those things on your list aren’t really that difficult and surely aren’t impossible.

So, if anything at all was possible, what would you do with your life?

Are you attracting more and more people who want your help, but then find your own energy levels exhausted and run dry?

Do energy vampires really exist?

There is a misconception amongst some Spiritual teachers and Law of Attraction practitioners who believe that there are people out there who are energy vampires which steal your energy and must therefore be avoided and ignored at all cost.

In reality, the strength of your spiritual energy is proportionate to your spiritual connection to Source (God / the Universe ). The more “connected” you are, the more spiritual energy strength you have.

However, Source energy is inexhaustible so it’s not possible for “energy vampires” to steal that energy. Even if they were to “suck” your energy, the supply is infinite so when they finish “sucking your energy”, you’d still have exactly the same amount as when they started.

It’s an illusion that someone can come in and drain your spiritual energy.

But if this is true, then how come when we get around some people we feel like crap? How come we feel depressed, sad, and negative after being around people who exhibit those qualities? Are they not sucking our energy dry?

Energy vs Vibration

To understand why we feel “low” after hanging out with certain types of people we like to label as “energy vampires” we have to understand the difference between energy and vibration.

Spiritual energy is infinite. There is no way it can be “sucked dry”. The amount of spiritual energy you have available to you to is directly proportionate to your conscious connection to Source energy.

Regardless whether you are alone, or around a “negative” person, your Spiritual energy remains the same.

However, what can change is your vibrational frequency.

For example, if your energy normally vibrates with peace, confidence, joy and love, but you get around a person who vibrates at much lower frequencies, such as fear, anxiety, depression, mistrust, doubt etc., what happens is that your energies kind of form a new in-between vibration that’s somewhere between where you’re at and where the other person is at.

So lets say that normally when you pull into a parking lot, you always seem to find parking right up front close to the door within just a few minutes. Now lets say that the person you’re with normally circles the parking lot for 30 minutes before finding a parking spot and constantly complains about the lack of parking everywhere he goes.

If both of you are in the car, what tends to happen is that your two realities kind of merge and form an in-between reality. You pull into a parking lot and you do find parking, but it takes 10 minutes which is an abnormally long time for you. To the other person though, your ability to find parking in only 10 minutes will seem like a random stroke of luck.

So you’re a bit cheesed off because it took you much longer than normal to find a spot, and the other person is a bit surprised that you were able to find a spot so easily.

In a situation where one person vibrates at a higher level and another person vibrates at a lower level, the person who was originally vibrating at the higher frequency leaves the situation feeling “low” because his vibrational frequency has been pulled down, while the person who was originally vibrating at the lower levels actually feels better because his energy was raised during the interaction.

Energy Vampire Addiction

This kind of situation can be very addictive to people vibrating at the lower energy levels. They’ll get around a person who’s very positive and they’ll throw a whole crapload of negativity at them, and leave the situation feeling refreshed and inspired.

The other person, however, feels drained and depressed until once again they regain their natural state of vibration and most probably attract the next “negative” person into their lives.

The important thing to understand here is that in these kinds of situations, your “energy” isn’t being drained. You have exactly the same amount of energy before and after your interaction with a “negative” person. What changes though is your vibrational state.

You may have started out vibrating at the level of confidence and you have a lot of energy behind that confidence. However, after your run in with the “energy vampire” you are now vibrating at the level of doubt but you still have a lot of energy behind that doubt. See your energy levels haven’t diminished – it’s just the type of energy that’s changed.

How to Prevent Vibrational Hijacking

When you get around people who are vibrating at a lower level than you, the combined reality you create with the other person will seem much more dense and negative compared to what you normally create in your life.

You’ll hit every red light while driving with the person, catch a flat, get pulled over, and will have a hard time finding parking – for example.

However, none of those things have to lower YOUR level of vibration unless you allow them to.

Which leads me to the point that these so called “energy vampires” are not really here to suck our Spiritual energy. We attract them into our lives to test our ability to maintain a level of vibration, regardless of the external circumstances that try to affect it.

If you can maintain a high level of vibrational energy when everything your life is going great, that’s wonderful. But that’s easy to do.

What’s more difficult is to be able to maintain a high level of vibrational energy during times when “external reality” seems so be trying to pull us down.

You always have control though.

Even if you get around a “negative” person and it takes you 10 minutes to find a parking spot instead of the usual 15 seconds, you are 100% in control of how you react to the situation. You could get upset and cause your vibrational frequency to lower, or you could choose to maintain your higher level state.

By doing that you increase your vibrational frequency even more.

Being an optimist when circumstances in life are in your favor is easy. Staying positive during times of challenge is much tougher. That is the sign of a true optimist.

Imagination vs Observation

It doesn’t take any faith or courage to “see” what our senses observe in front of us. It does take courage and faith to see that which we want to see.

Our ability to maintain our vibrational state regardless of who we get around has to do with our ability to connect with our imagination and “see” that which may not have even been created yet.

It takes courage, faith and imagination to see the positive in a seemingly “negative” situation.

Consider it like training.

You develop a positive attitude and a positive expectation in your life. However, soon enough a “negative energy vampire” type person shows up in your life and you’re mad and hoping that they would just go away.

In reality, you attracted the person in the first place because you want to develop your imagination and your faith.

You’re testing yourself to see how much “negativity” you can handle before it starts to affect you. It’s like building a muscle. The more you practice/train the more you can handle.

Feeling Drained?

If you feel drained every time you get around a person, you may have bitten off a bigger challenge than you can handle right now. Maybe you need to attract slightly less “negative” people to practice on.

Just remember that the energy you had when you started is still available to you at any time. It’s not the “energy” you need to replenish, because the energy is infinite. It’s your vibrational frequency that you need to re-tune.

If you haven’t read Part 1 of this series, please do so now before proceeding otherwise this post probably won’t make much sense to you.

2:04 PM – Changing the Theme

I don’t like the default Wordpress Theme. I think anyone who visits a site with the default theme instantly thinks it’s a fake Blog or a “made for Adsense” Blog, so my first order to things is to change the theme.

Sometimes I just search on Google for Wordpress themes, but lately I’ve been using a software called Artisteer 2 to quickly create Wordpress Themes.

I whipped up a quick header in Photoshop, and added it to a quick theme I came up with in Artisteer. Time to upload it and activate it.

2:18 PM – Theme Uploaded

Ok, so the theme is uploaded. Now, I need to remove the “Disclaimer” and “Privacy Policy” menu items up top. This theme, like many others, displays all the pages you create in the menu up top.

To do this with Artisteer generated themes, there is a line you need to modify in the Theme Functions (functions.php) file in the theme directory.

Near the very bottom of the functions.php file there is a line that says:

wp_list_pages(’title_li=’);

I need to change this line to:

wp_list_pages(’exclude=5,7&title_li=’);

By adding in that little “exclude=5,7″ it tells the function to exclude those two pages. To get the ID of the pages I just clicked on “Pages” in Wordpress admin and hovered over the title of the page and looked at the URL it points to. For example, for the Disclaimer page I created, the URL points to:

http://rchelisimulator.com/wp-admin/page.php?action=edit&post=5

So that tells me that the ID of that page is 5.

Now, since I removed the links to the Disclaimer and Privacy Policy pages in the menu up top, I need to add links to these page in the footer.

I simply edit the Footer page like so:

I just changed the links to point to the pages. Now my code looks like this:

<a href=”/contact-us/”>Contact Us</a> | <a href=”/disclaimer/”>Disclaimer</a> | <a href=”/privacy-policy/”>Privacy Policy</a><br />

I don’t have a “Contact Us” page yet, but I added in a link to it there anyways since I know I’ll be creating one eventually. Now the footer contains links to my Disclaimer and my Privacy Policy which should keep Google happy.

2:34 PM – Matching AdSense Colors to Theme

Ok, now the next thing I need to do is to match the AdSense ad colors to my theme. Right now the AdSense ad is using the default Google colors which are different from my new theme colors so the ad totally sticks out like a sore thumb. The idea is to make your ads blend in with your content.

You can change the colors in the All in One AdSense and YPN! plugin in Wordpress. It’s under Settings > AdSense. I went back to Artisteer to find out what colors I had selected for my sheet background, and for the links and then pasted the hex codes into the fields in the AdSense plugin. If you don’t know how to find your hex codes, you can always use the Google Ad Color Picker link to choose colors that are similar to your theme colors.

This is what it looks like now. See how the AdSense Ad Block just blends in with the content? The link colors also match the regular links in my content as well.

Ok, that’s good enough for making the site look prettier for now.

2:47 PM – Installing Analytics

Now it’s time to install Google Analytics so that I can monitor the traffic coming to the site. The reason I’m installing Analytics now and not before is that I needed to get my Theme setup first so that I could put the Analytics code in the footer of the theme.

Actually, before I install Analytics I want to make one change to my site structure first. I prefer to have my sites use the “www.” prefix to the domain. So instead of the site being “http://rchelisimulator.com” I prefer for it to be set to “http://www.rchelisimulator.com”.

I need to make that change first before setting up Analytics. To make that change, you just go to Wordpress Admin and click on Settings > General and then change the Wordpress Address (URL) and Blog Address (URL) accordingly.

It may have been smarter to change this setting right in the beginning, before submitting a Sitemap to Google but I forgot. That’s OK, Google will pull the new Sitemap and see the changed links anyways. You may need to go to Settings > XML Sitemap and click on “rebuild the sitemap manually” to re-generate a new Sitemap with the “www.” prefix before the domain name.

Ok, now I login to my Google Analytics account and add a new website profile like so:

I then take the code Analytics gives me (as shown above) and paste it into my Theme footer file (footer.php) by going to Appearance > Editor > Footer in Wordpress Admin.

Once I add the code into my footer (just above the “</body>” tag), I save the footer and then go back to Analytics and click the “Save and Finish” button to activate tracking.

3:07 PM – Summary

Ok, so let’s recap what I’ve done on for this site so far:

Part 1

Identified a niche we’d like to create a site for.

Using the Google Keyword Tool I did some research on a keyword related to the niche.

After my quick research found that there is search volume for the keyword, I looked on Google search listings to see if people are buying ads for that keyword.

Once we verified that the niche / keyword is worth testing, I went to GoDaddy to register a domain.

Using the main keyword (rc helicopter simulator) as a domain didn’t work as someone already registered it, but “rchelisimulator.com” was available so I registered that instead.

Added the domain to my Hostgator account.

Using Fantastico I installed Wordpress.

I created one page of content for now.

Next I installed my favorite Wordpress Plugins.

Activated the “Traffic Getting SEO Plugin” and used it to Tweak my Wordpress setup.

Next, I created an AdSense Channel for the Blog, and created a 300×250 Ad Block to put up on the site.

I added my AdSense ID and Channel ID into my All in One Adsense and YPN Wordpress Plugin and activated the 300×250 Ad Block to appear in the top left corner of all my posts.

Next, using the XML Sitemap Wordpress Plugin I created a Sitemap for my site and then submitted it to Google Webmaster Tools.

Part 2

Using a software called Artisteer 2, I created a simple Blog Theme for my site as well as a header.

After uploading the Theme, I removed the Disclaimer and Privacy Policy pages from the menu bar up top and placed links to those pages in the footer.

Modified my AdSense Ad Block colors to match the theme of my site so that the ads blend into the site instead of sticking out.

Changed my URL structure from “rchelisimulator.com” to “www.rchelisimulator.com” in Wordpress General Settings.

Installed Analytics tracking on the site.

That’s pretty much it so far.
