Circulation modulates through a series of intimate and expansive spaces and courtyards to a glass-enclosed single-story volume at the rear of the property. It is the kitchen and family room and the heart of the house. Large expanses of glass dematerialize the stone building in order to engage and connect to its protected woodland setting. A cantilevered second story volume frames views, gestures to the landscape and allows the re-naturalized ravine planting to be drawn farther into the site.

Studio Moffitt designed and managed construction of the House on Limekiln Line, an off-grid 875 ft2 house built on a 25 acre rural lot in Huron County, Ontario Canada. The exterior form and materiality of the house are informed by the local agricultural vernacular. The house is organized as a monolithic steel clad shell with extended south porch overhang enclosing a vaulted open plan. Careful siting, generous threshold spaces and strategic views into and through the house ensure stewardship and appreciation of the annually and diurnally shifting landscape beyond.

This project incorporates the ruins of a former mill. Combining the old walls with the new constructions and insertions in the fabric, it is intended to clearly articulate the modern additions set against the solid stone walls of the mill. The internal courtyard has become the focus for the house, and all internal rooms on the ground floor have a direct relationship into this enjoyable south-facing garden overlooking a burn. A new bedroom tower allows views over the wider surrounding landscape.

The Interior design consists of 3 types of showcases according to the price range, frame and type of composite of Kimono. The other kimono products are displayed on original designed shelves with knotted feet. The design method explores diachronic aspects such as materials, stories location, architecture and function to translate and add value through design approach.The white tiles are from original Tofu store. The walls in all directions are covered by white tiles Yusuke has curved to add new textures, which give the appearance of new surfaces from the layered inside material.

Contemporary architectural houses are now weaving their way into the surrounding streets, a reflection of the shifting property market. The owners were looking to replace their existing deteriorating beach shack with a modest beach retreat that would subsequently become their permanent dwelling. After many years spent in Barwon Heads, the clients were seeking a house that would integrate effortlessly with the existing streetscape whilst acknowledging the changing character of the town. The design of the house was carefully conceived to embrace the essence of the clients existing rural and coastal lifestyle and to accommodate the later stages of their lives.
