Looked for a home based business recently? If you have, then you have seen the ads that promised Guru Bob will “fill your matrix” for you, out of his own efforts and spillover and with no work on your part. All you have to do is enroll now, before it’s too late. Sounds great, doesn’t it? You just sign up, pay your hard earned money, and ride Guru Bob’s magic carpet off to Successville. Houston, we have a problem. With nearly all matrix-type pay plans, this helps them, and hurts you.

A matrix pay plan limits how many first line enrollments you can have, thereby shaping how your business grows. (Some compensation plans allow unlimited width, which is even worse. Your enroller has no incentive to help you even a little bit by putting people in under you with spillover. In any scenario, they would be better putting people on their own first line.) With a matrix, you might see a plan that has, say, a 3 by 6 matrix. That means in the basic part of the compensation plan, (where you will probably start and end) you would earn a commission on up to three members on your first level and six levels deep, for a total of 1092 in a perfectly filled matrix.

So, it possible that spillover can negatively affect you instead of help you? It’s not only possible, it’s what actually happens. Say that Guru Bob fills your first two levels for you before you finally sign up Aunt Mary. In fact, Guru Bob is so helpful, he fills up your first three rows. That means Aunt Mary who really only signed up because she felt sorry for you, would be placed down on your fourth level. Being conscientious and wanting to help her, you put your next person below her, down on your fifth level. For everyone above there, you will get a few cents each. What you have under you is Guru Bob’s matrix, not yours. In fact, you don’t have a matrix of your own.

You, then, end up with a massive looking organization that is paying you less than your monthly dues. Thirty or sixty or ninety days later, you drop out and try to find out what’s hot now. To your surprise, you find that Guru Bob is now promoting another program. You think, “maybe if I get in earlier, I will get in on the big money.” Wishful, but not accurate, thinking. You can sign up as close to Guru Bob as you want to, and you aren’t going to make the money he’s making, or anything close to it, until you have your own personal sign ups. If it worked for the long term, Guru Bob wouldn’t have a list of ten programs where he has been the top guy (or girl.) He gets in, runs it through his list, makes money for a couple of months, and goes off to another.

Building a perfectly filled matrix requires some each person in the group to sacrifice personal enrollments, including Bob. If everyone agreed to have a maximum of three personals, all on their front line, everybody would make way more money (except Bob, who might make $25k a month instead of $50k). Additionally, if no one was bothered by where those enrollments came from, everyone’s matrix would fill completely, and everyone would work their way to the top of the pay plan, where the big money is. The only obstacle to this is finding a group of people and a company that will do that. If there were, maybe they could call it something like Unselfish Wealth.

There is a popular ad on TV recently showing people carrying around a big orange number - apparently to represent the amount of money that particular person has to have saved in order to retire with the same kind of lifestyle that they lead currently. I found myself getting angrier and angrier every time I saw that ad, and I really didn’t know why.

Then I realized it wasn’t really anger I was feeling, it was more of a sense of desperation and anxiety. My wife clued me in that that was exactly what this company wanted me to feel, so that I would be inclined to follow their advice. That’s what negative advertising is all about. It did get my attention, but I don’t think it generated the kind of response that the company was hoping for.

What this company wants is for you to sign up with them as financial advisors, and they’ll help you reach your number. While this might be a solution for some people, especially younger ones, I just don’t feel it applies to someone like me that’s in their fifties. I have put a little money away, but I don’t feel there is any way for me to save more than a million dollars by the time I’m 65! That’s the minimum amount of most of the numbers under the people’s arms.

So what’s the answer? For me it’s going to be having a stream (or multiple streams) of income coming in until I die. I believe that’s a viable solution for most baby boomers, especially in these uncertain and volatile times. But how do we accomplish that? Here’s a list of 6 possible solutions.

1. You can refinance your house with a reverse mortgage. If you have a bunch of equity in your primary residence, you can take out a loan and not have to make payments. You can then get a monthly payment, a lump sum, or just have it available to use if necessary.

2. How about a part-time job? If you don’t need a lot of extra money because you’ve got some savings, a pension, and/or social security, maybe a part-time job will be enough to make retirement work for you.

3. Franchises. There are lots of different franchise opportunities available if you don’t mind putting up some money up front. Some of them aren’t that expensive, and they encompass a huge range of businesses. A restaurant, a cleaning service, an auto repair place. If you’ve got some money saved up, this might work for you.

4. Start a traditional home business. Maybe there is something you’re good at and you can market that skill. It can be building something, making something, or even offering a service, such as bookkeeping. You can sell your product or service on Craig’s List or ebay.

5. You could start your own home-based internet business. Affiliate marketing is a hot topic right now, and you can make a some good residual income by setting up websites that promote other peoples products. All you have to do is send the customer to that merchant’s site, and you’ll earn a commission. Once you get the sites set up, they are self-sustaining and can generate income month after month.

6. A network marketing business. This is my top choice for the simple reason that it offers both leveraged incom and residual income. Leveraged income means that you sign up distributors underneath you, and you are paid a small part of any sales they generate for the company. Residual income is accomplished by setting up customers that continue to buy your companies products on a month-to-month basis, and you earn commission on every purchase they make.

These are just a few suggestions on how baby boomers can retire with a good income. I encourage you to do some research, and figure out what works for you.

So many of us harbor beliefs about ourselves that are not only wrong, but downright destructive. Would you like to find out how to bypass the Belief Detective inside of you that is holding you back from believing good things about yourself?

You may not realize this, but your beliefs are assumptions, explanations, and conclusions you’ve adopted throughout your life starting in infancy. They become the rules that shape your perception of the world. They become so ingrained, due in part to your experiences that seem to prove their accuracy. So you think they are truth, when in fact they are not.

Many times two children can grow up in the same household, in the same environment and end up with vastly different beliefs. How can that happen? It happens because the individual’s beliefs are based on how they interpret an environment, not on the actual environment itself. One child may grow up feeling neglected because their parents worked a lot. They may end up being needy and always seeking love because they felt rejected. The other child may become fiercely independent because they believe that they learned to stand on their own two feet. Same environment, different interpretation, different beliefs.

The beliefs we hold are the very foundation upon which we view our world. If our beliefs limit us in some way, then it is hard to move forward and break down barriers. Any time we learn something new, or do something that challenges a deeply rooted belief we experience great resistance. I know in my own life, I sometimes feel like there is a tug of war going on. It’s like I have this Big Bad Belief Detective standing guard so that when a strongly held belief is challenged, the Belief Detective puts up a fight.

Have you noticed any time in your life when your negative beliefs have kept you stuck, even though you don’t seem to know why? You say to yourself, “I get all the bad luck” and guess what, you do. But we all have positive beliefs as well or we would never get out of bed. Most of our beliefs are hidden deep in our sub-conscious mind, and we don’t even know that they are running the show until we try to change them, which then becomes quite a challenge.

Sometimes old beliefs that no longer serve any purpose dissolve on their own and are replaced with more productive beliefs. (YEAH!) Our work, then, is to uncover and remove the negative beliefs that no longer serve us and are holding us back from achieving all that we desire.

So how do you go about changing these beliefs? Well, first you have to realize that your beliefs, no matter what they are serve some purpose for you. Maybe they keep you safe, maybe they prove you right. Your subconscious wants to help you keep the status quo, so every time you try to change a belief, the Belief Detective stops you. In my case, I started using affirmations, which are positive statements which help to reprogram limiting beliefs. But they were statements aimed at my beliefs so my Belief Detective sabotaged my efforts by making me bored, tired or just too busy to do them. It’s very tricky. I had to find a way to bypass my Belief Detective.

I just had to find a way, so I tried meditation, visualization, hypnosis and a lot of other stuff with some limited success, but the excuses would always creep back in and I’d stop doing them. What finally worked for me was to set my affirmations into short, catchy little tunes. Have you ever heard a jingle on TV or the radio that played in your head all day long? Well, I used that phenomenon and created short little jingles with affirmation statements in them. They would run all day long in the back of my mind over and over. I called them AttitudeZapz!

Has there ever been a time when you’ve argued with yourself about song lyrics? Not very likely. Also scientific studies have proven that by keeping the critical part of the the mind, the conscious mind, occupied by music, the uncritical subconscious will be able to accept the affirmations without filtering them. There’s no little voice inside your head telling you it’s not true. And once these little affirmation jingles get stuck in your head, you can sing them on autopilot and you don’t even have to wonder if you believe the words or not. They just melt right into your subconscious mind with no effort at all.

So finally I’d found a way to bypass the Belief Detective. Because of that one little thing, I’ve grown by leaps and bound and you can too. You can do the same thing with your own affirmations if you want to, or if you don’t feel that creative, try AttitudeZapz!, and your Belief Detective will soon be out of a job!

Perhaps a good example is whenever you feel like listening to your favorite radio station, of course each station is tuned in a specific vibrational match on your radio and therefore you would simply set your tuner to your station’s specific numbers/letters on your radio.

So even though there are many different radio stations all broadcasting simultaneously out there every moment of the day, you are not aware of them and essentially they do not become part of your experience until you actually tune in and change the station.

So always think about what you do want and develop the awareness that Prosperity in your Network Marketing business is indeed a choice and abundance is available to all. Also remember that in the game of life there is both positive and negative magnetic energy all around you, and YOU win or lose simply by the one YOU chose.

This article is for all the procrastinators out there. You know who you are. I used to be one also. It is not too late for you to get up and start your Financial Freedom Journey, but the window is closing. This will be the most important article you read today, I guarantee it.

Your journey to Wealth Building and Financial Freedom is at a dead stop until you stop procrastinating. If you really want to change your life, no really want to change your life, then you need to prioritize your actions and stop your procrastination. Everyone on this planet has the exact 24 hours in a day to accomplish their tasks. If this is true then why do some people make fortunes and others barely get by? The simple truth of the matter is that the wealthy understand that it takes action to accomplish goals and procrastination is the number one killer of dreams. NUMBER ONE KILLER of dreams. Will you stop your procrastination today?

Did you know that 330 people are turning 60 years hold every hour! This is bad news for you. This means that a large part of the tax paying base is retiring and your taxes are going to have to go up. Not only are taxes going up but other costs will now increase as well. By now you have seen your utilities go up, your fuel bill go up, your food bills go up and on and on. So in reality you are taking a cut in salary. Are you ready to take action and work towards your Wealth Building and achieving Financial Freedom? Time is running out.

You need to find Your Why. Find a reason to motivate yourself to take action. For most the thought of spending more time with your family and less time playing corporate games is enough motivation. While others will need to find their Why. You see no matter what you do in life you will have challenges and your Why must be big enough for you to overcome those challenges and not quit.

Just having a why for most is not enough. You also need to find someone that has designed a complete system for you to plug into and follow to reach success. The problem is that most systems are really not systems, they are a couple of steps that allows 3% to 5% to be successful. That is not a system, that is a joke. What most will tell you is that you must build your business yourself and give you a number of ideas to help you but no clear road map on how to get there. My advice is to choose your system well and take action in your Wealth Building System to achieve Financial Freedom.

Here is a great exercise to do: Make a list of the top 15 things you would like to do in your life if you made your annual income in a month (big things, like travel the world for 30 days). Prioritize them in a list from most important to least important. Now list all the time wasters that you do in a day and think about how much money these items are costing you. If you are to reach Financial Freedom then you will need to do away with these time wasters.

Now it is time to choose your Wealth Building Vehicle. This is the vehicle that will allow you to achieve your Financial Freedom. There some really good ones out and some that are not good at all. Here are some I would stay away from: Travel Packages…to much competition and taxes are seldom included and can be up to 25% of the total price, Software packages through network marketing opportunities…software is bottom self..no one will buy and if they do you will probably be flooded in refunds, any opportunity that says “the system does all the work”…there is no way…RUN AWAY. To be successful you will need you need to find a mentor that is using the newest technology to make money. It makes no sense to use old methods like everyone else.

Now it is time to pick your mentor. This will be the single greatest factor in deciding if you will succeed. They should be using the newest technologies, have sales experience at the executive level with Corporate America and have mentors that are Multi-Millionaires. This will be your best chance for success.

The ball is in your court now. Take action immediately and see you on the beaches.
