Webhooks are an application feature that will send a message to another application when a certain action occurs. For example, if a new contact is added to Yabber, or perhaps a group of new referrals, Yabber may send a HTTP webhook to a nominated 'endpoint', and the 'request' we send will carry information that can be resolved, mapped, or handled in a certain way by the other server or software. Many are familiar with Zapier, and how the tool might action 'something' on the basis of actions taken somewhere else - it's the webhook that originates from your CRM (or the "Trigger App") that makes the information available on the other service (the "Action App"). Webhooks are reasonably reliable, actioned quickly (near real-time), and allow you to build your own applications.Webhooks come in different types and flavours, with most systems supplying change data only, or a simple notification that includes reference to data that has been added or changed. We send a full package of data with our Request that includes all the information a user supplied - this often negates the need for subsequent requests to the API.Many systems limit webhooks of a certain type (such as new contacts) to a single webhook, whereas we provide for any number of webhooks associated with a single Yabber action.Specific automation applies by default when an action takes place in Yabber, such as emails to the potential leads, SMS messages to the potential leads, broker notifications, subscriptions, and CRM integration. So, webhooks in Yabber are used for those rare occurrences where we can't do what you're asking to be done.Webhooks are one of the least used features in Yabber, but it's nice to know that they're there when you need them. One of the lesser-known and features of Yabber is the webhooks tool. Wenhooks allow you to configure the system to send data to another system when 'something' happens, such as a new lead or new referral (there are a large number of options).You may add your own header and body data to the request (kind of advanced, but not difficult), and all data submitted to Yabber is sent to the destination endpoint by default.There's a ton of automaton in Yabber, but sometimes a broker might build their own application, or they may need to integrate a service like Zapier, and webhooks makes this easy. We'll be using the hooks over the next few days - no disruptions are expected.

After some valuable feedback on the new referral form, we've made another update available in the latest release of the plugin.We know it's *just* a form, but it's also a very powerful purpose-built referral tool. It's assigned to the resources and partner module on your website by default, with the partner system also supporting a direct 'Partner URL' (partner features are detailed on our website).Every form attribute can be customised. Text, colours and the redirect may all be personalised. The form itself supports custom select menus and text fields.A full-featured drag-and-drop Elementor block is available, and it makes inclusion of the form on any page a 1-second exercise. All data is sent to Yabber, and automaton obviously applies. Emails and text messages are sent based on certain conditions, such as the sending website, or the referral partner (if submitted via a partner form). Needless to say, and unlike other systems, email is sent through your own MS365 email account, and the SMS comes from a number provisioned by you. It's a great tool that should be used as a priority.
Shad of the Day, 6th February 2023.We looked at this experience in the past, although a former client of theirs had a customer make a formal complaint, so it's worth revisiting.Created by a mob called 'MakesCents' (EMBR Group), the subscription funnel breaks a few big-ticket laws that will land your in a world of hurt. Of course, it's a ridiculously poor product that is less effective than the plugin we give away for free. The experience from this mob is typical. They'll ask a bunch of questions that are largely irrelevant in order to make it easier to sell leads, and they'll scare off legitimate (and higher-value) customers with multiple form panels (every 'next' panel in a form objectively decreases conversions). The type of questions asked were borderline ridiculous. The form claims to 'qualify' a user, but it returns a 'Success' message regardless of the values provided - we tried multiple combinations. In other words, the form is used to make it easy to sell leads - a client is surrendering private data under the pretence of 'qualification' when the results are fixed and totally fictitious. Think about how this lie sits with Best Interest Duty, and think of the laws you're violating and supporting with that action alone. There was a time in this industry where baiting, deception, lies, and deliberate privacy violations would be frowned upon. One of the more troubling aspects of ads like this are that they fake a check of lenders (the code in the background reveals that the 'checking' animation does absolutely nothing). It's a lie. It's baiting. It's non-compliant. It's illegal. It's just a disguising practice. The term 'qualify', used in the finance setting, with a user expectation that engagement will genuinely assess borrowing, is clearly illegal. There are *still* brokers that willingly invite this style of illegal advertising into their operation.
Note to clients. We've created a panel for SMS templates (in the SMS Marketing Module). They'll eventually replace all modules that require the use of a 'standard' SMS (such as forms).The feature enables you to globally update specific text messages via the 'Review' panel.

Dropped in 2021 in the bloody aftermath of the banking Royal Commission, the Dollarmites program was criticised for profiteering off children that were less likely to withdraw - essentially forcing a savings program onto those that wouldn't otherwise engage in weekly banking - and creating a brand loyalty that often compromised choice (dominating the first account market gave the bank a clear advantage). In fact, 46 per cent of Australians who opened their first account with CommBank had not left. It's the latter point that was the true long-play genius of the Commbank program: the real money was made once the children were older.There are benefits that came from the program, but the motivation grew commercial in its late life when the benefits of monopolising financial literacy in schools became clear. The program delivered an annual gross profit of $4.3 million, with the longer-term benefits in the billions. Westpac (and others) have had their own programs, but none saw the success of the program introduced by Commbank in 1931 (at a time when the bank was still Government owned).While not illegal, the program was deemed unsuitable and unethical. Schools are capable of teaching financial and saving literacy without the involvement of an institution with fuzzy motivations (and staff paid volume-based bonuses on the number of kids they sign up). The questionable nature of the program is evidenced by credit card applications shortly after an 18th birthday - further solidifying the customer and introducing a pathway to debt which is in complete contrast to the program's early intent.You don't want Ronald McDonald teaching your kids about nutrition (despite their efforts to do precisely that), and nor do we want banks interfering with proper, unbiased, and commercially-driven banks.The best think a bank can do is supply money-boxes to schools, and we don't see enough of it from banks and brokers (we have enough caps and pens).
Shad of the Day, 5th February 2023. We don't really like calling out individual brokers, but in some cases, their early customer subscription experience provides a good example of digital mediocrity.Let's talk about the 16 panels required to get a booking form. We know, categorically and with data to support the claim, that 'qualifying' a client by way of a 'privacy-hungry' form, will drive away the highest-value candidates. And we know that making a lead jump through hoops with the promise of some sort of answer, but failing to provide any answers or value, will alienate them.This style of form is illegal (leaning towards baiting, and certainly false advertising). Ironically, providing value and solutions (rather than illegal hype) would improve on the number and quality of leads. The arse end of the leadgen industry just doesn't get it.A full 16 pages to reach the appointment form, and not unlike the 'quiz" itself, the off-site booking form is stuck in a poorly formatted iframe (so it cut off most of the content). In contrast, we provide a' hidden' booking option behind a checkbox on the first page, and we provide a open calendar on subsequent pages (our conditional solution is integrated with your website *and* Outlook). The form itself. No valid reason could be found to include the quiz questions in the subscription flow. Remember, your job is to qualify yourself - not the client... so unless your form sends a PDF report to the client (as ours does), then don't show it. The quiz is completely unnecessary, adds zero value, and contributes to the non-compliant nature of the experience. Every single page view of any kind, and a keystroke of any type, objectively decreases conversions. This means a minimal experience will *always* perform better.There is no funnel - it's just a subsciptions form. Our free broker plugin provides an experience that vastly outperforms this garbage.Please use our *free* plugin. There's not a marketing company in the industry that comes close to providing an experience that returns more value than our plug-and-play broker plugin.
Expect interruptions to Yabber's Twitter integration for a short time. Twitter's vague news doesn't provide much detail, and even at this late stage, we're unable to resolve a large amount of information.A short time back, Musk promised to consult via survey before any big changes... and then they dump this massive change with a week's notice.
Do you remember the logo on your old Commonwealth Bank passbook? If you're a vintage veteran of the Commonwealth Bank you'll likely be most familiar with the yellow diamond design, but see if you recognise the branding from the pre-91 era.Commbank branding has seen two significant redesigns in its history.The first logo - introduced in 1911, and used when the bank started operations in 1912 - depicted the bank’s name, as well as a modified Australian coat of arms; - it was, after all, a Government facility. The logo features a shield, and kangaroo and an emu standing either side. The shield was slightly elongated, and the pictures in it were rearranged slightly.The logo of the bank from the 1959s was composed of a bright rounded badge, executed in two shades of blue — a lighter one for the background, and a darker for a stylized monogram, consisting of "CBA" lettering. The badge was outlined in the thick frame in the same shade of blue, which was used for the monogram.The 1961 logo was a stylish circular image with a thin black wordmark around it. The emblem featured a beige background with a bold black circle on the left side. The circle was outlined in three thin black circular frames and had a white contour of the Australia continent placed in the middle. The lettering was executed in a serif typeface, and all capital letters of the inscription have significant lateral space, which added lightness and style. A beige seven-pointed Star was placed on the left from the emblem, pointing at the beginning and the end of the wordmark.The redesign of 1991 brought a new and modern concept and colour palette to the bank's visual identity and brand. The new emblem features a yellow and black palette and comprises a solid yellow rhombus, with a delicate geometric fragment in black along its right side. The wordmark in black is placed under the emblem and executed in two wrights of one sans-serif typeface.The 2020 logo has the same rhombus, but the black section turned a shadowed yellow. The wordmark was also removed.
