It has been a long time, hasn’t it?

It has been TEN YEARS since the comic debuted. 1/1/2014. We stopped publishing around the start of Covid, and it feels like I’ve been writing and drawing this chapter ever since. Lots of things have happened since then, but if you’re back or if you’re discovering this now, I hope you’ve been well after all this time.

I want to finish what James and I started in a more conclusive way, but keeping the same kind of weekly schedule for this just isn’t going to work. Life is too hard right now to keep myself to a cadence like that. But I have a few pages that are in varying states of done, and more pages to work on. But I’m going to publish them when they’re ready.

No schedule.
No expectations.
No rules.

So keep an eye on The Socials, and the Insta for updates, because those’ll probably be the only places I post updates, and let’s see where this thing goes.

I know, it’s been forever, and 2020 has made everything seem like it takes forever. We’re on what, day 250 of March? I just wanted to let you all know I’m still working on a new little side story. I want it to be completely finished before we start publishing, so it might be a bit, but I’m hoping maybe starting first weekend in January if I can really put my nose to the grindstone.

That said I’m hoping for a little help. If throughout your perusal of our (slightly updated) new site, you come across a page that’s out of place. Can you please send an email to intheyearoftherabbit [at] gmail [dot] com with a link to the page in question and I’ll get it fixed. Please and thank you.

Hey! Hooray! The site works again! Some might even say better than before. It’s not totally done, but it’s good enough for government work, so I figured we could take the Maintenance page down. I think the biggest thing is that I fixed it so that you can move between pages using the arrow keys instead of clicking. For when you’re feeling real lazy. There’ll still be changes here and there, but all good things. Hope you all like it!

So apparently WordPress updated the plugin that controls the comic, which I had intentionally been putting off for quite some time, because I was pretty sure it would break everything. And here we are, and now it seems that no matter what I do the comic pages aren’t displaying properly…

I just wanted to let everyone know we’re not dead. I’m working on some new stuff sporadically while battling the general malaise of The ‘Rona. We’ll get this fixed soon and get some stuff uploaded when it’s read.

We Back! (for a bit)

Thank you all so much for your patience while my life normalized. I got married! (woo!) and needed to just take some time to recover from 9+ months of wedding planning and just sort of let my life normalize. Now we’re back and we’re going to finish out this little Merchant interlude.

A couple things to note:

Things may look a little off. I’ve moved off of Photoshop and into Procreate on the iPad, which will be the way I do things for the foreseeable future. Pardon my growing pains while we make this transition.

We will be going back on hiatus once this arc is done. Jimmy and I need to hammer out where we’re going next, and with the holidays coming up it’s just easier on both of us if we get that story stuff going, and then build up our buffer for next year. I think this might be the way we do things going forward, taking October-ish through January-ish off and then publishing the rest of the year. But we’ll see what life throws at us that might change that up.

While the comic is on hiatus I do still intend to make new merch, and I’m working on something to let you guys suggest things you’d want to see on shirts. Best to follow us on Instagram and Facebook for updates on that though.
