The Wire is Properbly the best show I have ever seen. Realistic, clever, moving, cynical. And with a Tom Waits theme.

Go buy it. Then watch it. I saw the last six episodes of season three yesterday. Gonna take a cold turkey before I start with season 4 and 5.

More to the point - I love that every god damn button works out of the box on linux crunchbang 8.10. (i.e. ubuntu intripid I guess). Add the tiny tiny usb reciever - and my acer one has found its portable friend no. 1.

Btw: I’m having a hard time following up on all the interesting things I read - know that I am always connected - either through my android phone or my subnote. But since neither of theese two machines are really suited for work - I’am discovering that I’am taking action on far fewer things than before.

google cuts back on open source?

One of the reasons why I want to own google stocks, and whole heartedly support google, is their effort to help the open source movement. Summers of code etc. are all good things. But lately i’ve been disappointed by two things:

The native android gmail app supports microsoft office documents (via quickoffice) but not the odf - used by openoffice (and google docs!) - That sucks big time.
Second disappointment: I am beginning to use midori more and more. But gmail wont support this kool open source browser - dispite the fact that it’s one of the few to flawlessly pass the acid3 test.

I really hope google will soon adress theese issues.

Jeg har netop bestilt en ny digital signatur. Med danID’s begrænsede brug af ordet “linux” på deres site, bliver fremtidens IT problemer spændende…

Figuren viser antal resultater på en site-search efter windows, mac og linux…

Elbe Philharmonic Hall er navnet på en ny koncertsal i Hamburg. Man havde et gammelt ubrugeligt varehus og er nu ved at bygge en af verdens bedste koncertsale. Ovenpå det gamle hus. Projektet ser spektakulært ud og udmærker sig blandt andet ved dets måde at integrere stedets historie i den nye bygning. Jeg elsker tanken om at tage en ny moderne bygning fyldt med kunst og nydelse og bygge den oven på et levn fra industrialiseringen. Verden vokser, og den skal stables, så der kan være noget mere af den.
